00:03work is not remote work it's just work
00:06right and that's I'm hoping the term
00:08remote work and it disappears over time
00:09right it's more about how you're doing
00:11work and how people are structure it and
00:13you know the output that they have and I
00:14think the key thing that we're seeing in
00:16these people are starting to because
00:17they're starting to look out right from
00:19their 30 miles ranges right they're
00:21starting to hire globally and hiring
00:23globally right means
00:25that you're starting to have more
00:28consideration right for what is standard
00:30in one country compared to another from
00:31a benefits standpoint but at the same
00:33time right as you scale you want to be
00:34as standardized as possible right so
00:36that brings a lot of interesting and
00:38complex challenges which we're having
00:40fun solving but yeah I mean overall
00:43the word is a is a is this a big place
00:45and there is amazing talent everywhere
00:48and I think more and more people are
00:50realizing that it's about you know
00:52working with the right people doesn't
00:53really matter where they are as long as
00:55you've got the right Talent right and I
00:56mean I'm not saying anything new here
00:58but that's really the trend we're seeing
00:59right from like the small companies all
01:00the way to I mean you know we onboarded
01:02the formula one team yesterday as a
01:04customer right so like you've got a very
01:06big breath of products and people
01:08yeah I will agree that long term the
01:11word remote goes away and it's just work
01:13what we're talking about is the
01:15workplace we're still going to use the
01:17term remote for a while because we've
01:19done it the other way for so long that
01:21it's a necessary qualifier in the
01:26um but my my son is three right now it's
01:29highly unlikely that he'll ever see work
01:32any other way I'll have to show him
01:35YouTube videos of millions of people
01:37getting in a personal vehicle and
01:40driving to somewhere they don't live
01:43to open a computer that They Carried
01:45with them and it's going to blow his
01:49he it's going to require an explanation
01:53it's going to be one of those
01:54generational things where you can show a
01:56pencil uh in a small circle in a
01:59cassette like do you know what this is
02:01like oh yeah I used to rewind the
02:03cassette tapes using that this is the
02:06workplace cassette moment or fax machine
02:08moment and it's very much a massive
02:11shift that shouldn't be underestimated
02:13yes I I remember talking to a friend
02:15recently and I was like I wonder when
02:17they're gonna stop teaching kids
02:18handwriting in schools which sounds
02:20crazy given our generation because
02:22that's so foundational to or at least my
02:25education growing up
02:26um and I don't know if that'll disappear
02:28anytime soon because it is also a
02:30cultural signifier or it's it's almost
02:33like a step to learning to read which
02:37you know then leads to comprehension and
02:39so it's all interrelated but I do wonder
02:41what things we're used to really
02:45foundational things in our society which
02:47of those will be relics and it actually
02:49reminds me also of something I saw
02:51recently which was a tweet I think it
02:53was from 1891 or sorry the Tweet covered
02:56a newspaper article from 1891 where
02:59someone was slamming the office because
03:01that person felt like we should all be
03:03hunters and gatherers and like outside
03:04and in the wild and so I wonder you know
03:07if we're seeing certain
03:09um permutations of that today right
03:11where what we think of as work 100 years
03:14ago was not the office right we should
03:16say 200 years ago was not the office and
03:18then 100 years ago it was the office and
03:20then today it's something else but to
03:22both of your points like that is work
03:24right remote work is just a modifier
03:27that we've added in this current
03:28juncture when there's a debate about
03:32at its core it's leveraging technology
03:34remote work is a product so humankind
03:36invented the Internet we're finally
03:38using it and leveraging it in a way that
03:41helps people live better lives and and
03:43leaders build more durable organizations
03:45so it's it's been a long time coming
