00:02I have to ask the question which is just
00:05simply is it still worth learning to
00:08code to me it feels like it's more worth
00:10it today because it's a tie that raises
00:14old boats right like we said the 10x
00:16becomes a thousand Acts
00:18but like at 0.1x becomes a you know 10x
00:22right so if you're someone who's
00:25previously maybe whose impact with
00:29Coatings can be very minimal now it's
00:31going to be meaningful because there's
00:35this Rising tide previously like you
00:37learn a bit of coding you learn how to
00:39plug together some Frameworks and create
00:41some UI going from that to like doing a
00:44little bit of parsing for example
00:46parsing some texts on that or not it's
00:50right now you can just use gpt3 to do
00:54right so you're doing the basic coding
00:56and then anytime you find something
00:58that's like a little difficult you can
01:00plug in gpt3 in that place
01:02and so I actually think that programming
01:05becomes more fun and impactful because
01:08of that so it's like totally worth doing
01:10even more worth doing than than before
01:13because you're going to get more done
01:14you're going to get not gonna get as
01:20probably learn I wonder if you have any
01:26Ed track how many hours I was spending
01:28from when I first started to when I
01:31actually felt proficient and for me that
01:34number ended up being 300 hours
01:36um maybe I was slow maybe as fast I
01:38don't know but it kind of shocked me in
01:40a way because if you actually distill
01:43300 hours down to if you were learning
01:47full-time which I know not everyone can
01:48do that's less than two months and now I
01:51think to the tools we have today and I'm
01:53like gosh like we can probably do it way
01:54faster than 300 hours so any thoughts on
01:57how quickly someone can actually get to
01:59proficiency with the tools that we have
02:02so I know you're you're a fan of uh
02:04bulging he was on your podcast he you
02:07know he has this uh beef with media and
02:09so he wanted to show that The New York
02:12Times is a bunch of bots right it's it's
02:15like he he put in a bounty on repl he
02:19was one of our early adopters on
02:20bounties and he wrote it's like I want
02:23uh someone to build the GPT times
02:27instead of like New York Times
02:29but um just totally based on tweets you
02:33give it a tweet and it goes and generate
02:36an article written in the style of the
02:39New York Times so actually uh it is it
02:42should be up now so if you go to the
02:46so uh that's basically like the site
02:48that was built using uh the bounties
02:50program and the the person who built it
02:54was on day 80 I think of 100 days of
02:58python so 100 days python is one of our
03:00programs to learn how to code and we say
03:03you can do a day of python in basically
03:0720 minutes so if you was on day 80
03:10spending 20 minutes how many hours is
03:12that that's 26 hours so in 26 hours they
03:16were able to do uh to build an entire
03:21and earn 1800 from from biology
03:25right so that's that's I think your
03:26answer I mean maybe that guy was an
03:29outlier but we're seeing it all the time
03:33it's taking weeks for someone to get to
03:35a place where they can build things and
03:37I think that's really what matters I
03:39think that's incredible because I think
03:42one of the best decisions I made was
03:43learning to code because you just to me
03:45it really was like a foundational shift
03:47in understanding the world around me
03:49because again so much of what we do is
03:52digital it is online and so even if you
03:54don't want to go and be the developer
03:56that's hired to build products just
03:58having that understanding and it's kind
04:00of crazy when you think about it if you
04:02were to actually position that like
04:03before and after to people and say well
04:05now it only takes 30 hours
04:07that's like you could do that in a week
04:10could take four days off from your job
04:13go through this and I know there's a
04:15difference between the 20 minutes a day
04:16and you know a straight shot but that's
