00:03review on the side hip abductor and
00:07adductor that's a BB Octor and a bbor
00:12abductor so legs out legs in abductor
00:16machine those three reasons are my wife
00:20told me I was going to be doing this
00:23when she saw the review request in my
00:25email inbox yes she has access to those
00:30I enjoy my marriage so I said okay babe
00:33you got it and three I'm not proud to
00:36say this I'm saying it anyways I
00:40actually find myself using this machine
00:43more than I expected I would honestly I
00:46was like I'm going to try it out I'm
00:47going to review it and that's going to
00:49be the end of it anyways DJ here with
00:52achieve Peak and today I'm going to be
00:54reviewing like I said the side D hip
00:57abductor and hip adductor machine for
01:01this review we're going to kind of cover
01:02all the basics specs um operation
01:07adjustments that can be made one
01:10modification I make as well as likes
01:13dislikes and if it will actually stay in
01:17my garage gym let's get into it this
01:20machine does two things and it does them
01:23particularly well and that is going to
01:25be to work your glute me glute men and
01:30your tensor fascia L muscle that's going
01:34to be pretty much all the muscles in the
01:36top end of your butt muscles not the
01:39glute Max which is the bottom piece it
01:42kind of creates that nice teardrop
01:43action but the top portion of it so if
01:47you choose that you want to build a
01:49booty so big you can sit a glass on it
01:52this will help you do that outside of
01:54that it is an adduction which is
01:57bringing the legs in which is going to
01:59work the inside of the thigh muscles for
02:02the most part women are going to love
02:05this machine men are going to come
02:07nowhere near it even though they should
02:10and that is the general overview of this
02:12machine it is a plate loaded machine on
02:15the back right here and you load your
02:17own weights onto it is not a plate a
02:20selectorized plate stack it is a load
02:22your own weight so you will need to get
02:25your own weights to use this it uses a
02:282in standard olympic size Peg right here
02:31so 1in weight will not work it does not
02:34have the option for a sleeve that goes
02:36over a 1 in that you can use either or
02:38it is going to be a 2in uh whole
02:42diameter plate that is going to go on it
02:45as for operations and adjusting you
02:48pretty much will use this little pin
02:51right here to open and close the legs
02:54and then you can just drop the pen and
02:56it will lock it gives you six adjustment
02:59spots right there and then with these
03:01pins right here what you can do is turn
03:05them inside or out depending on the way
03:07you want to do them and then it has
03:10weight Peg storage and then or weight
03:12storage right here with the pegs and
03:13your weights go on the back pretty plain
03:16and simple nothing too complicated with
03:19it adjusting the unit is actually
03:21relatively easy so all you have to do if
03:23you have a little bit too much play or
03:25maybe you want a little bit more play
03:27right here what you have right here is
03:29you a tube connected to two him joints
03:32and what you can do is loosen the nuts
03:34on each end and then spin that and it's
03:37going to either tighten or loosen and
03:39when it does that it's going to move
03:41this right leg and so it's going to
03:43bring that right leg in or out and then
03:45it has another one up under there on the
03:48other side yeah it's right here that is
03:51going to adjust this piece so you're
03:53pretty much selectorized plate right
03:55there then there's a final one way up in
03:58there that adjusts your left leg and so
04:00or left arm and so what that allows you
04:02to do is when you close it to get them
04:05even instead of off to one side or off
04:07to the left when we first got the unit
04:09the left leg or I need to call them arms
04:11so we know that I'm referring to my legs
04:14in the machine's arms so the arms the
04:17left arm was kind of straight the right
04:19arm was like cocked out just a little
04:21bit it wasn't crazy and so I kind of
04:23just made some quick adjustments it
04:24literally took like two minutes and uh
04:27that's it so that's pretty much all the
04:29adjustments that you get as far as the
04:31actual machine goes using it and then
04:33the seat pad right here can come
04:35forwards or back and that is all of the
04:39adjustments there's one modification
04:41that I made to this machine and that is
04:44going to be I took off these weight pegs
04:47right here we kind of have this is a
04:49compact space it's a garage it's like
04:5019x 21 I have tons of equipment it's
04:53loaded we have to film in here and it
04:55actually sits like right next to my
04:57camera and next to our freak athlete
04:59that we have the Nordic hyper and the
05:01weight pegs just got in the way because
05:03I keep it relatively close to them I
05:05don't put any weights on it we have
05:06weights sitting here we have weights
05:07sitting over there on here and I just
05:09don't need the extra plate storage so I
05:11personally took my pegs off so I could
05:15have more space around the garage and be
05:18able to push it towards something you
05:20just have to watch out because your arms
05:22down here when you open them will come
05:24to about 50 55 Ines wide so you're going
05:26to need to have some space for that but
05:28the way I have it set up is it actually
05:31kind of comes out in the front of our
05:33Nordic hyper that we have so it doesn't
05:35really get in the way the weight pegs
05:37did the we pegs if you do keep them on
05:39are about 44 in wide the unit uh depth
05:43right here if you have say a 45lb plate
05:47on the back a standard uh diameter plate
05:50it's going to run you about 75 in from
05:53the back all the way to the tip of the
05:55arms right there when the arms are fully
05:57shut and so that's going to be your
05:59basic Dimensions to this piece of
06:01equipment I want to go over the build
06:03quality real quick on this unit because
06:06you got to have you know some cost
06:09friendly items but a lot of times cost
06:11friendly items come at a cost friendly
06:14price which is they kind of cheap out on
06:16the construction quality and this unit
06:19does not fit that mold the arms are made
06:22of some very solid steel so at the end
06:24you kind of have some oval tubing and
06:27then the rest of the unit pretty much
06:28turns into a square or rectangle tubing
06:31and it is solid it's a heavy unit to
06:33move it around is an absolute pain in
06:35the butt because it's nice and heavy
06:37it's sturdy it's actually heavier than
06:40my leg press that I have uh which is a
06:42way bigger unit and then it has rubber
06:44feet on all four corners right here and
06:47so it doesn't want to move either when
06:48you're using it it's very very stable it
06:51feels good when you're pulling on the
06:53handles you don't feel any give I mean
06:56it is a really really well-built unit
06:59for the price point that it's at the H
07:02joints are very nice for the adjustments
07:04to kind of allow it to move I mean
07:07realistically everything overall when I
07:09put this thing together I was like wow
07:11this is actually pretty impressive that
07:14it's at the cost that it is and it seems
07:16to be really high quality and well-built
07:19product now I want to get into my likes
07:23and dislikes with this unit there's not
07:26a ton there's like five or six likes two
07:29or three dislikes let's get into them
07:32first things first likes this is a
07:34sturdy unit just like I said I mean it's
07:38it's well built that's that's all I'm
07:39going to say about that we're going to
07:40be done with that actually that's it
07:42that's all we got it's wellmade it's St
07:45it's a great price to Quality value
07:49that's what I want to say another thing
07:51I want to say is that the directions are
07:55great and then the the directions are
07:57well put together sometimes you get the
07:59units I have I could just probably
08:01attempt to assemble this on my own and
08:03it would save me more time than actually
08:05using the directions and this didn't
08:08fall into that it had really well
08:10established directions they were clear
08:12and then it kind of comes on like a
08:14cardboard type box with all of the
08:17pieces like vacuum sealed to it and then
08:20they were all like number coded or
08:22letter coded so you kind of knew and
08:23then they even put the actual size of
08:26the bolts the nuts all that good stuff
08:28so it's all right there there it came
08:30with some tooling so if you don't have
08:31tools you could actually put it together
08:34on your own but overall the directions
08:37packaging and even the nuts and bolts
08:39thing that it comes with it was well
08:41done it's it's well felt out one of the
08:43last things I want to say is the
08:45operating on it it is a very very smooth
08:48unit I mean you're opening and closing
08:51your legs there's not a whole lot to do
08:52there you know it's in and it's out it
08:54is what it is but I mean it's buttery
08:57smooth it's it's high quality that's all
08:59I got to say right there that's it
09:01lastly it's easy to use I like that it's
09:03easy to use there's only three different
09:05pens that you can use right there and
09:07then you adjust the seat that's it
09:09that's all you got to do to use the
09:11thing you can turn the leg pads in you
09:13can turn the leg pads out you can move
09:15the arms in you can move the arms out
09:17and then you can move the seat back and
09:19forth and then we can all Scream and
09:21Shout you know whatever that song might
09:23be but that's it it's it's easy to use
09:25it's simple it's effective it gets the
09:27job done now let's cover the dislikes my
09:31dislikes are even with a good packaging
09:34it still came with scratches I don't
09:36know why it bothers me when stuff gets
09:39scratched I mean it is it's going to
09:41happen like I said it happens but it
09:43really sucks when it gets it gets a
09:46little scuffed or gets scratched has a
09:47couple dings when you receive a unit
09:50that you paid for but it's not because
09:52of Sid it is because of the shipping
09:55company that's my belief at least
09:57another thing I want to come up or I
09:59want to say on the dislikes is going to
10:01be this selectorized or selector plate
10:04right here and what happens is is that
10:07I've kind of tightened it so it doesn't
10:08have a lot of play and as you can see it
10:11should be going in but it doesn't so
10:12what I have to do is kind of grab this
10:14outside and push it just a little bit to
10:17get it locked I can avoid this if I
10:22loosen this tubing at the H joints but
10:24then what that ends up doing is it ends
10:26up spreading the legs out so you would
10:28lose a/2 inch maybe an inch of range of
10:31motion on it but then you wouldn't have
10:33to kind of move this plate right here
10:35this selector plate it could be because
10:37maybe uh operator error I'm not sure but
10:41that I would like that if it was kind of
10:43a little bit uh more seamless and just
10:46dropping that pin in it'll usually end
10:48up clicking on the first or second try
10:50it's nothing major but I wish it kind of
10:52functioned a little bit smoother on that
10:54one okay final dislike I know everybody
10:58wants the red R but I'm not a fan of the
11:02red I didn't see any other options I
11:05wasn't asked of any other options uh if
11:08I wanted like red or black
11:11personally I like all black equipment I
11:14don't black or white pretty much if if
11:16all this was white I would be cool with
11:17that cuz I got white walls so it kind of
11:19all Blends in I'm not big on the red you
11:22might be big on the red I see a lot of
11:23people are big on the red not me I'm I'm
11:25not a red guy I wish I had a all black I
11:27want just nice consistent blacked out
11:30that's that's my jam so that's that's my
11:33final dislike the coloring I don't like
11:35that the selectorized plate right there
11:38I wish that was a little bit better I
11:40wish it didn't come with scratches it
11:42does whatever it happens okay final
11:45verdict here will it stay the short
11:51answer yes but not because you think I
11:54know earlier that my wife informed me
11:58that I had to do a review on this and
12:01here I am doing a review on this so yeah
12:04and I like my marriage but it's it's
12:08stay probably number one because my wife
12:10told me she's keeping it because she
12:12loves it and she can't wait to use it
12:14more when she has our third kid soon in
12:17the next couple weeks um but I actually
12:20like it it's it's good it so if you
12:23didn't know your gluten Mees are
12:25responsible for stabilization so if you
12:28ever see people doing squats and their
12:29knees are buckling in or they're kind of
12:31all over all over the place that's like
12:33largely due to the gluten meds glutenins
12:35being kind of a stabilizer for the legs
12:38and this unit works that so if if your
12:41squats are a little a little wobbly or
12:43you have issue especially when you're
12:44maxing out of your knees buckling in
12:46this fixes it and since I've been doing
12:48this I've actually noticed that my knees
12:51feel a lot better like overall like they
12:53just feel stable I play a lot of
12:54volleyball and my knees feel better when
12:55I'm done with volleyball and I feel more
12:58stable when I'm jumping a lot because I
13:00jump hundreds of times every time we
13:02play my knees feel better when I'm
13:03squatting when I'm doing leg presses
13:06I've been really working on doing uh
13:08pistol squats and my knees feel way more
13:11stable and I just feel generally
13:13stronger overall in my legs and so for
13:16that reason I don't know I'm I'm I'm
13:19going to keep it we're going to keep it
13:20around it takes up a little more space
13:22than I would have hoped um but I'll live
13:25with it so we're going to keep it it's
13:27stay that's coming for me that's not
13:29from JY that's coming from me it's going
13:31to stay I actually like it I use it I
13:34don't know I'm kind of ashamed kind of
13:36not certainly not going to go boast
13:38about it to anybody that walks in my gym
13:40that I use this thing I'm going to deny
13:42it till I die and hopefully they haven't
13:45seen this video when they come over but
13:47if they have it is what it is I'll deal
13:49with the flak I catch the sidey hip
13:50abductor hip adductor it's going to stay
13:53in the garage it's a good unit that's
13:55all I got to say about that if you like
