00:01you guys and I'm going to break down
00:04everything you need to know to start
00:05your own Etsy Shop starting an Etsy Shop
00:08is really exciting but sometimes it can
00:10be confusing if you don't know where to
00:12start and I'll be addressing some of the
00:14most common questions that you may have
00:16when you're starting this Etsy sellers
00:18Journey so let's get right into it let's
00:20start with the essentials all right
00:22question number one hi I'm thinking of
00:24starting on Etsy and right now doing the
00:26most I can educating myself on it and
00:28reading books and I was Wonder wondering
00:30if I have a tight budget can I start
00:32organically and if it would decrease my
00:34profits drastically or should I invest
00:36in all right so great question there
00:38when you're first starting out on Etsy
00:40especially in the digital Park realm you
00:42can actually spend quite little to get
00:44started every time you list a product on
00:47Etsy it only cost you 20 cents and there
00:49will be some additional transaction fees
00:51but you will only pay for that once an
00:54order is sold but the initial cost was
00:56going to be 20 cents per listing and if
00:58you use the link below you'll get the
01:00first 40 listings for free and that's
01:02equivalent to $8 if you times the 40
01:05free products by 20 cent so definitely
01:07use that link if you're starting your
01:09shop out now when it comes to creating
01:10your products itself you can use a tool
01:13like canva use the free version and
01:15start to build your products that way
01:17then also share the links absolutely for
01:19free now so that is a great way to start
01:21a shop when you're on a budget and in my
01:23previous videos I talk about how much it
01:25can cost if you were to go all out into
01:28buying the best product going for the
01:30best mockups the researching tools right
01:33that can cost as low as $60 but I have a
01:35full video there linked if you want to
01:37check it out but in general even
01:39something at $60 to get a shop launch
01:42being able to generate $5,000 $10,000 a
01:45month that is a great Roi that's a great
01:48return on investment all right question
01:50number two hey there I cannot choose a
01:52niche in which there is no competition
01:54please advise where to get started so
01:57this is a question I get asked quite a
01:58bit is someone wants to tap into
02:00categories with zero competition but
02:03sometimes having some competition is
02:05healthy in the market meaning there's a
02:06lot of demand and now it's an
02:08opportunity to figure out okay cool how
02:10can I reinvent this space how can I
02:13innovate how can I do something
02:14different I know a lot of people talk
02:16about just copying other sellers but
02:18that is the approach that I feel like
02:20will not have a longevity in this space
02:22so I always like to think slightly
02:24different see how we can do things
02:26better knowing the demands out there
02:28knowing the different comments comption
02:30reading the people's reviews seeing what
02:32they're lacking see how we can make it
02:33even better it's always good to have a
02:35little bit of competition and yes
02:37obviously we don't want to tackle a
02:39category that has hundreds of thousands
02:41of competitors there is a bit of
02:43researching involved in that if you can
02:45check out my other videos where it's
02:46more research focused videos check it
02:48out and subscribe but yeah going back
02:51into here it's okay to have some
02:52competition and also identifying what
02:55the ratios are I talk a lot about the
02:58relationship between the demand how much
03:00people are searching for a product but
03:02also the competition rate right so the
03:04ratio the relationship between the two
03:06and what that looks like and ultimately
03:09you will know which way you should lean
03:11more towards which product categories
03:14and things like that but again if I'm
03:15getting too complicated if you're just
03:16starting out it's fine to have some
03:18competition you can check out everb for
03:20free I have a link down in the
03:22descriptions for you another tip is if
03:24you're in a category you feel like
03:25there's a lot of different competition
03:27feel free to Niche down even more I know
03:29a lot of people want to go General but
03:31for me I take another approach I like to
03:33Niche down first to establish yourself
03:35in a specific category once you've
03:37established yourself in that space you
03:39can start to incorporate some other
03:41product categories some other keywords
03:43expand that way and on the back end at C
03:46sees it they'll gain more trust from you
03:48they want to promote you more seeing the
03:50results you're getting seeing the
03:51success and that is a strategy that I've
03:53seen work within the students in my
03:55program okay question number three hey
03:57Brandon thanks for the information how
03:59long did it take you to create your
04:01digital products to sell I'm worried
04:03that I'll create digital products for
04:05days and weeks but they won't end up
04:07selling so great question it is
04:09something that I like to think a lot
04:11about but this kind of goes back to the
04:13researching phase making sure that you
04:15have done everything you can
04:16understanding a category understanding
04:18the relationship between the supply and
04:21demand knowing that there may be an
04:22opportunity for new Sellers as long as I
04:25execute everything to the best of my
04:26abilities my chances of success will be
04:28a lot higher than if I were to go in
04:30blindly and just hope that it works also
04:33one of my students in my program
04:34recently they joined 2 weeks ago and
04:37they were able to find a category where
04:39the products did not take them too long
04:41to create and they were able to launch a
04:43shop in Just 2 weeks and it just started
04:45getting organic sales literally the day
04:47after so it was incredible to see and
04:50their progression and the momentum
04:51they're receiving so I'll try to update
04:53you more on that but yeah it's
04:55definitely possible some categories will
04:58take more work than and others but if
05:00you're able to research enough to know
05:02the opportunities and the ones that
05:04require less time then definitely go
05:06ahead with those ones if you want to
05:08start first but for me personally I like
05:10to go for ones that take longer more
05:12effort because everyone wants to go into
05:14the really quick product creation ones
05:16using AI leverage those which is amazing
05:19but if it's just as easy for you to tap
05:21into those it's just as easy as everyone
05:23else since the barrier to entry is
05:24really low question number four hey
05:26Brandon I'm from Malaysia and I just
05:28started my ETS Journey there are a lot
05:30of times I already spent on finishing my
05:32products researching exploring and
05:35listing on all of them but sadly I face
05:37a problem where I cannot set up my
05:38billing during opening my shop I've
05:40already checked all of my bank
05:42information but it always says there's
05:43still something wrong and ask me to
05:45check again it's been a week already
05:47please help okay so this is a problem I
05:50do hear quite often and if you're having
05:52troubles with the billing address make
05:54sure you first double check everything
05:56is correct and next is sometimes you may
05:58need to use a different credit credit
05:59card or some of the banks may not accept
06:01it depending on the country you're in
06:03that's something I've heard before and
06:05the last one is to try different browser
06:07it could just be as simple as using
06:09another internet browser if you're using
06:12Firefox maybe try using Chrome that is a
06:15quick fix you can try and a lot of times
06:17it can solve that issue if you are
06:19unable to set up the back end Banking
06:21and all stuff so give that a try Okay
06:24question number five thank you so much
06:25for your video I have a question as a
06:28brand new account is a possible to
06:30create a virtual product from the
06:32beginning because I think Etsy is a
06:34manual platform so I don't know if
06:36virtual products can be listed directly
06:38when registering a store so my question
06:40is should I put my visual products on
06:43the Shelf when I register my store or do
06:45I need to provide a handmade product as
06:48a registration information and then wait
06:50for the store application to be approved
06:52before uploading the virtual products
06:55okay so great question I'm going to
06:56assume when you mean virtual products
06:58you're talking about digital products so
07:00it's totally okay to launch a store with
07:03using digital products this is something
07:05I do I've opened up multiple shops in
07:07the past all digital products and I
07:09don't have any physical products in
07:11there to get it set up it's totally fine
07:13to open up a shop using digital products
07:15only question number six hey Brandon can
07:18I open up Etsy without a credit card so
07:20unfortunately you will need a credit
07:22card to open up in ET shop it is
07:25required for the verification stage and
07:27also making sure everything is legit
07:29 in case there are transactional
07:31fees and etps that you need to pay but
07:33yes unfortunately you will need a credit
07:35card for it and also another side note
07:36in case you're wondering if you have
07:38multiple shops open you can use the same
07:40depositing Banks where you receive the
07:42payments whether it's by-weekly or
07:44monthly whatever that may be you can use
07:45the same banking information even the
07:47credit card if you have a business
07:49credit card or just a personal credit
07:51card you can use the same one across all
07:53of your shops question number seven and
07:55suck at creating digital products is
07:57there any way to Outsource that process
07:59and if so can you please make a video
08:01about it great question I do want to
08:03make more videos about it I believe I do
08:05have some videos on Outsourcing and some
08:07tips and how to delegate how to find a
08:10designer and things like that feel free
08:11to check out that video but yes in
08:13general you can definitely hire and
08:14Outsource the design process I have
08:17personally done that as well for my
08:19shops now before I did everything on my
08:21own but once I understood the process
08:24once I knew what makes a good winning
08:26product once I knew how to translate
08:28that message in how to translate that
08:31Vision to a designer so that they can
08:33create exactly what I'm looking for I
08:35was able to to Outsource the whole
08:37process but a quick site you can use is
08:39onlinejobs.ph this is the platform that
08:42I personally like to use when I'm
08:44looking for Freelancers while I'm
08:46looking for designers to create
08:47different products one of the students
08:49in our program actually went through
08:51that as well because we do go over if
08:53you wanted to use El sourcing R but they
08:56found a lot of success in it they were
08:57able to learn how that that whole
08:59process works how to interview them
09:01finding the right candidate for the job
09:03how to delegate properly and they found
09:05it was really helpful the whole process
09:08and their shop is doing well now and
09:09they're continuing to work with their
09:11Freelancers as well okay question number
09:13eight I'm new to Etsy would you set up a
09:16different shop for each type of digital
09:18products or do you put all of your
09:20different digital products in one shop
09:22and if you're setting up multiple shops
09:23do you name them similarly so that
09:26others know which shops are yours do you
09:28l L the multiple shops together thank
09:30you so much for your time so great
09:32question here for me when I first start
09:34I like to just focus on one shop at a
09:36time right just focus on one verse okay
09:38and if you're trying to put the same n
09:41in multiple shops i' rather you put all
09:43that effort all of that marketing all
09:46that back in the reviews The Authority
09:48ranking into that one shop instead of
09:49spreading them out into multiple a lot
09:51of times people think if you have
09:53multiple of the same or multiple
09:55listings of the same when you put them
09:57out you're trying to capit the market
10:00right you're saturating it but you're
10:01also diluting each of those products I
10:04would rather have 10 sales all on one
10:06listing then one sale across 10
10:09different listings of the same right
10:11because each of those 10 listings you
10:12have to build up that review count for
10:14each of them whereas if it's in that one
10:16listing you'll get all the favorites all
10:18the reviews the back end sees it Etsy
10:21backend will see it continue promoting
10:23that one winning product give you the
10:25bestseller tag star seller badge all
10:27that good stuff if you put all that
10:29focus and get out one product one shop
10:31all right question number nine how do
10:33you make good digital mockups for Etsy
10:36so when I first started I like to just
10:38grab free mockups making sure that they
10:40are commercial free and then use them
10:42onto my products but now I like to
10:45invest a little bit of money so back to
10:47your earlier first questions if you were
10:49to go on a budget you may not want this
10:51approach however if you're able to spend
10:53around $ 20 to $30 for a bundle of
10:56mockups for your specific product I
10:57recommend checking out cre creative
10:59Market that is a platform that I
11:01personally like to use when I'm shopping
11:02for new mockups from my different
11:04products and there's a variety of them
11:06there's pretty much everything you need
11:08but most of them you will need to know
11:10how to use Photoshop and it's very
11:12simple I have different tutorials on how
11:14to use mockups on Photoshop so check
11:16those out if you want but yeah I will go
11:18for that approach if you want really
11:20unique professional and very
11:23customizable mockups for your product
11:25another approach is to use canva canva
11:28has a lot of different mockups now a lot
11:30of them you may need the pro account to
11:32access those mockups but feel free to
11:34take a look at that when you're using
11:36those mockups you will not need to use
11:38Photoshop it's a drag and drop method is
11:40super easy and efficient way all right
11:43question number 10 Brandon can we make
11:45more than one account by the same name
11:47and details but with different shop
11:49names and different emails so absolutely
11:52you can make more than one account but
11:54you will need to use a new email address
11:57the new shop name every time you're
11:58creating a new shop because that is the
12:01only way for you to access each of the
12:04accounts is by a new login a new email
12:06address password can stay the same but
12:09email address was the only thing you
12:10need to do that's different and along
12:12with the shop name obviously but then
12:14like I mention in the past the banking
12:16information all of that can be the same
12:18so if you're thinking about creating
12:20multiple shops in the future all you
12:22need to do is create a new email address
12:24I just do a Gmail account and the name
12:26of that Gmail is the name of the shop
12:28and and I just have a list of that with
12:30all the different passwords and that's
12:31how I access all of my Etsy shops and
