00:13the three different boot offerings from
00:15cd you've got the x power which is the
00:17least expensive then you have the tahoe
00:20and then you go up to the top which is
00:21going to be the crossfire 3. and so
00:23today we're just going to go through and
00:24briefly cover the main differences
00:27between these as you work your way up in
00:29price just to kind of help you
00:30understand you know what are the
00:32differences and ultimately which cd boot
00:34is going to be best for you if you've
00:36got your heart set on a pair of cds now
00:38keep in mind we do have product
00:39spotlights because today we are going to
00:41be pretty brief so go watch the product
00:43spotlight to learn all the ins and outs
00:45of these where we go into full detail if
00:46you want to learn all about that so
00:48hopefully by the end of this you have a
00:49good idea remember if you have a pair of
00:51cd boots we would love to know which set
00:52you have what you like and dislike about
00:55those boots and that's just going to
00:56help other riders out that are looking
00:58to pick up their next set now to start
01:01out we have the x power now the x power
01:03is the newest option in the cd lineup
01:07and price on this you're going to be
01:08right about 450 bucks now real quick too
01:11i want to talk about fitment so cds have
01:14always been known to be a little bit
01:15narrower fitting boot and i would agree
01:17with that i've ridden in the tahoes and
01:19the crossfire 3s and yeah they are a
01:21little on the narrow side but what's
01:23nice though is that with the x power and
01:25we'll talk more about this it is the
01:27widest option of the cd boot so if you
01:30have wide feet and you want a pair of
01:32cds the toe box on these is going to be
01:34a little bit wider and i'll talk about
01:36how they do that here in just a moment
01:37but also remember we have our fit
01:40no matter what boot you buy if you don't
01:42like how it fits you can send it back to
01:43some brand new unused condition and
01:45we'll give you free shipping both ways
01:46on your first exchange now with the x
01:48power looking at you can see it's just a
01:50more simplified boot from cd it doesn't
01:53have some of the flash that the tahoe
01:55and the crossfire 3 have also
01:57with the x power the sole and the
02:00buckles are replaceable but as we work
02:02our way up you'll notice that the tahoe
02:04and the crossfire 3 are going to have
02:06more parts on these that are replaceable
02:08so you could say a little bit more
02:09durability in that sense but what's nice
02:12about the x power is that even though
02:13you know at that 450 price point you've
02:17which allows for good flexibility it's
02:19got great support for the ankle what i
02:21like about all three of these is that
02:22they all hold the ankle in place really
02:24well you have the same cam lock style
02:26buckles as a tahoe and the crossfire 3.
02:29one thing about the x-power i will point
02:30out is that out of the box it is a
02:32little bit stiffer than the other two so
02:34just be a little bit more patient it's
02:36just going to take a little bit more
02:37time to break in but it will now with
02:39this one big difference you're going to
02:40notice with the x power is the sole so
02:43the x power only comes with the ta sole
02:46option which stands for traditional
02:47application with the tahoe and the
02:50crossfire 3 you notice that they have
02:51their srs sole here's kind of the three
02:54main benefits or differences that maybe
02:56will help you decide if you wanted to go
02:58with the ta soul or the srs the ta sole
03:01when you look at the bottom here and
03:02this could be more popular for off-road
03:04riders is that you'll notice
03:06you've got a larger contact patch of
03:09that rubber sole compared to their srs
03:11sole so if you're planting your foot a
03:13lot on rocks and logs you've got more
03:15rubber that's going to be able to
03:16contact the ground also with that sole
03:18it allows them to make the boot just a
03:20little bit wider that's why i said that
03:22the x power is does have the widest toe
03:25box and also with the ta sole they say
03:27that it gives just a little bit more
03:29feel on the foot pegs and the brake
03:31pedal so those are kind of the main
03:32differences but again with the x power
03:34450 bucks rock solid boot moving on from
03:37there you have the a tahoe
03:41only comes with the srs sole which
03:43stands for sole replacement system
03:45what's cool about this sole is that you
03:47can replace it right from your own home
03:49so if you're hard on soles if you
03:51replace them you know maybe once or
03:53twice a year you can just buy
03:54replacement soil right from us you can
03:56do it from your own house with the ta
03:57sole you can still replace it you just
03:59have to take it to a shoe cobbler to do
04:01that but a couple of the main
04:02differences looking at the tahoe so one
04:04with the hinge system so instead of just
04:06having a single pivot hinge they
04:08actually have a dual pivot system on the
04:10medial and lateral side one of the main
04:12reasons for that was to help narrow down
04:14the ankle especially
04:16the profile on the inside just to get as
04:18much contact on the bike as possible so
04:21when you're squeezing you get a little
04:22bit more grip there you have a three
04:23buckle design versus four so you have a
04:25larger velcro flap up here on the top
04:27but also another main difference too
04:29with the tahoe is when you look at the
04:30inside and the medial remember how i
04:32talked about you getting more
04:33replaceable parts well on the inside
04:35here you also have this medial piece
04:38that is also replaceable so if you wear
04:40that out if maybe you have a kickstarter
04:41bike and that's a part part of the boot
04:43that you wear out this is also
04:45replaceable along with that srs sole now
04:47bumping up from there you have the
04:49crossfire 3 srs now sorry let me mention
04:52also too with the tahoe price on these
04:54you're 550 so about 100 price jump and
04:57now with the crossfire 3 you're going to
04:58go up to about 600 however
05:01there is a crossfire 3 that you can buy
05:04with the ta sol option which is the same
05:06price as the tahoe so again you kind of
05:08got to ask yourself do you want the srs
05:10sole or do you want that ta sol but the
05:12crossfire 3 looking at it
05:14the fit on these with the srs sole is
05:17going to be pretty much identical to the
05:20tahoe i will point out however that with
05:22that ta solo in the crossfire 3 it does
05:24add just a little bit of width to the
05:27crossfire 3. something to remember but
05:29if you're just looking for the most
05:30protective boot that cd offers then the
05:33crossfire 3 is going to be the route to
05:35take and not because it's gonna offer
05:37more support necessarily in the ankle
05:39area but because looking at it you can
05:41see with the shin plate and all that
05:43it's just gonna offer more hard plastic
05:46around the shin and on the back of the
05:48calf so you're gonna get the most impact
05:49protection with this another note too is
05:52that you're going to have more
05:53replaceable parts with the crossfire 3.
05:55that was kind of like the big highlight
05:56about this boot when it first came out
05:58is that the shin plate the calf area
06:00on the medial and the lateral side you
06:02have everything on this boot essentially
06:05including that srs sole so you're going
06:07to get fantastic durability out of the
06:10crossfire 3 for those reasons one last
06:12thing i do want to point out is coming
06:14from a rider here at rocky mountain that
06:15is ridden in the tahoes and the
06:17crossfire 3s a lot he has pretty skinny
06:20legs so this is something that we feel
06:21is worth pointing out with the a tahoe
06:23or not may say with the crossfire 3 you
06:26have an adjustable shin plate so if you
06:28have large calves and you're wearing a
06:30knee brace you can actually adjust that
06:32shim plate to make it a little bit
06:33larger also you notice that there's an
06:35internal gaiter on the crossfire 3 and
06:37it just closes up a little bit smaller
06:40than the tahoe so for our rider here
06:43what he talked about that he likes about
06:44the crossfire 3 is that he can get a
06:46good seal around his calf with this
06:49however with the ataho
06:51he had a bit of a gap between his shin
06:54and the front of the boot that he wasn't
06:56that much of a fan of so that is one
06:58little bit difference as far as the fit
07:00goes that you might want to take into
07:01consideration but like i said with the
07:03crossfire 3 they have the option for the
07:05ta sole but if you're looking for the
07:06most protective boot that they offer
07:08with the most replaceable parts that
07:10would be the route to take and that's it
