00:00your first CL on Etsy may seem like the
00:02hardest sale to get on your Etsy shop
00:05but arguably the first 100 sales may
00:08seem much much harder and from there you
00:11may see that you start getting daily
00:13sales more consistent sales multiple
00:15sales a day and at least that's what I
00:18experience in my own Etsy store is once
00:21I hit that threshold and I hit that
00:23first goal of one sale then I got a few
00:26sales that trickled in and then once I
00:28hit that 100 sale Mark that's when I
00:31really saw my store scaling on the Etsy
00:33algorithm so with that being said I
00:35wanted to make a video on how to get
00:37your first 100 sales with Etsy and
00:40whether you have a handmade business on
00:42Etsy or a print-on-demand business maybe
00:44a digital business either way it is
00:47going to be hard to get those first 100
00:49sales and here are some strategies on
00:52how you can get those first 100 sales
00:54now if you're new to my channel and this
00:57is your first time here my name is
00:58Heather and I am a multiple six-figure
01:01at scene print on demand store owner my
01:03own Etsy Journey began in 2021 where I
01:07began with zero sales and I went all the
01:09way to multiple six figures in one year
01:12with my Etsy and print on demand
01:13business now it wasn't always like that
01:15because the first four weeks I had zero
01:18sales guys it was a lot of work in my
01:21first month of my Etsy and predoman
01:23business I posted over 100 listings and
01:26I wasn't seeing any sales I've seen
01:28people view my products I saw visits but
01:31I had probably 10 visits a day to my
01:33store and I didn't get that first sale
01:35until four to five weeks down the line
01:38then I got my first 100 sales I remember
01:41in February going into March of that
01:43year and then in March and April I began
01:46seeing over ten thousand dollars in
01:48Revenue in my Etsy and print on demand
01:50store and in the year of 2021 I saw a
01:55average revenue of over twenty thousand
01:58dollars on my Etsy print out to me on
02:00business so I just want to tell you that
02:02the first sale is going to be the
02:04hardest and then the first 100 sales is
02:06going to be even harder but it does come
02:08quicker as time goes on and you find
02:11those products that really work for your
02:12store and they just sell like hot cakes
02:15so to speak so with that being said how
02:17in the world do you get your first 100
02:19sales I know I was really confused about
02:22that when I first started I was like
02:23okay I got my first sale but how do I
02:26keep that consistent income coming in
02:28how do I make sure people are buying and
02:31seeing my store and getting that
02:33traction when you first begin that was
02:35my biggest issue so with that being said
02:37I wanted to go over the strategies that
02:39I use to get those first 100 sales and
02:42that you can use too when you start off
02:53so before we get into how to get your
02:57first 100 sales here are some Concepts
02:59to really get to know and questions you
03:01need to ask yourself before you start
03:03this process which is first of all
03:05conversion rates across all e-commerce
03:07platforms is two percent on average
03:10sometimes this goes as high as five
03:13percent but generally for Etsy in
03:15specific it's around two percent
03:17conversion rates so conversion rate is
03:20the number of visitors divided by the
03:22number of people who purchase who visit
03:24your shop so let's say you have 100
03:26visitors and two people purchase that is
03:29going to be your two percent conversion
03:31rate so with that being said if you want
03:34to have a thriving and growing business
03:37on Etsy one of the main issues a lot of
03:39stores have when they first began on
03:41Etsy is that they have zero to no views
03:45or visitors per day on Etsy so you need
03:48to figure out a solution to your traffic
03:50issues when you're are new Etsy store
03:52and that's why I'm going to go over some
03:54strategies in this video on how to
03:56increase your views your visits and your
04:00traffic on Etsy so that hopefully you
04:02can get those sales here's another
04:03question I get a lot is hey Heather I'm
04:06getting hundreds to thousands of views
04:08on my Etsy store but no sales people are
04:10favoriting and what's going on here
04:12sometimes that could be a good indicator
04:14that your product is just not good
04:17enough for people to purchase and that's
04:19something that you need to re-consider
04:22your shop on look at your store and see
04:24what's going on and maybe ask a friend
04:26or a family member hey can you look over
04:27my shop would you buy from my shop do
04:30you think these designs are good and
04:31maybe some of the time it could be your
04:33pricing are you priced competitively
04:35there's a whole lot of other reasons why
04:38your store may not be getting sales if
04:40you're not having a traffic issue but
04:41for most stores on Etsy the number one
04:43issue I see is people are having an
04:46issue with getting traffic and that
04:48traction when they initially begin so
04:50now that you know this this concept we
04:52can dive into how to get that traffic
04:55and that could be through paid methods
04:58that could be through organic methods
05:00that could be through social media so
05:02we're going to go over all that today
05:03and more so in this video I wanted to
05:06focus on mainly organic scaling and
05:09traffic methods I don't want you to
05:11focus on paying for ads or doing Etsy
05:14ads doing Facebook ads or Instagram or
05:16Tick Tock I don't think that is
05:18reasonable if you're a new store on Etsy
05:21and one of the reasons why is because a
05:23lot of people will throw spaghetti at
05:25the wall in creating a lot of listings
05:26on Etsy and they don't know if that
05:29market is validated they don't know if
05:31it's a passionate enough Niche to go
05:33into if it is a good product type and
05:36design you may spend hundreds of dollars
05:38in ads and burn out your budget very
05:41quickly I've seen a lot of new Etsy
05:43sellers do this I've seen a lot of new
05:45Shopify sellers do this and I was in
05:47that bracket as well when I first began
05:49I was just burning out my bud budget for
05:52ad spend and I didn't really have any
05:54sales to account for how much I was
05:56spending so that's why I want you to
05:59really focus on these next few organic
06:02traffic gain strategies to grow your
06:05businesses rather than paying for ads I
06:08believe that ads can really Aid in your
06:10business's growth once you have those
06:12validated products that have sales that
06:14have a lot of favorites that have people
06:16returning to buy those items and it's
06:19one of maybe your new best selling
06:20products or maybe it's a popular Now
06:22product those are the types of products
06:25I would put ads on but generally when
06:27you're first starting out you don't know
06:29what's going to be the popular now badge
06:31item or the best-selling item so it's
06:33really important to focus on organic
06:35growth strategies in the beginning of
06:37your Etsy businesses so we're first
06:40going to go over organic methods and
06:42there are so many organic methods
06:44through Etsy and utilizing etsy's
06:47already built in traffic source so Etsy
06:50has a million of users that go onto Etsy
06:53every single month and this is the type
06:56of traffic Source you can tap into by
06:59just creating an account on Etsy and
07:01posting listings and what Etsy likes to
07:03do is they like to award listings that
07:05are doing really well by increasing the
07:08traffic that goes to those listings and
07:10the way that they do that is they will
07:12boost that listing in the Etsy algorithm
07:14so they will start showing it on the
07:16home page related listing section and
07:18even on the first pages of the Etsy
07:21search this is one of the main forms of
07:23traffic gain that you can have
07:25organically through the Etsy platform so
07:28your next question may be how in the
07:30world do you tap into this organic
07:33traffic gain system that Etsy provides
07:36and that is simply by your SEO by the
07:39niches that you are in you need to find
07:41those high demand and narrow niches and
07:44then the third thing is your amount of
07:47listings the amount of products that you
07:49are creating it really all depends on
07:51how many products that you have in your
07:54Etsy business and while it may seem like
07:57a whole heck of a lot of listings over
07:59100 listings that's generally when
08:02people start to see daily consistent
08:04sales on Etsy however if you were to
08:07incorporate social media or email
08:09marketing or some form of other organic
08:12traffic gain then you can do so and you
08:15don't have to upload as many listings
08:17and that is a another way that you can
08:20gain traffic and Views and visits per
08:23day without having to upload hundreds to
08:26thousands of listings on your Etsy store
08:28however to understand how to grow your
08:32Etsy store and get those first 100 sales
08:34generally speaking the more listings
08:36that you upload the more visibility you
08:39have in the Etsy algorithm to
08:41potentially have that one listing that
08:43may go to the front of the Etsy search
08:45and you can really rank in the Etsy
08:47algorithm and be recommended to
08:49different customers that login into Etsy
08:52every single day so in order to get your
08:54first 100 customers on Etsy the second
08:57strategy I have to get there is by
08:59utilizing social media and I've heard it
09:02time and time again that people say hey
09:04I don't want to show my face I don't
09:06want to be the face of my business and
09:09the beautiful thing about Etsy is you
09:11don't have to be the face of your
09:13business and you don't have to show on
09:16your store if you don't want to you
09:18could just make it a store and put your
09:19store name and just create a logo for
09:22your store you don't have to show your
09:23face at all one of the best ways to
09:25Skyrocket your views visits and traffic
09:29on your Etsy store is simply by creating
09:32a social media account and posting on it
09:35consistently and that is by far the
09:37easiest way to get your first sale and
09:40first 100 sales that's what I did when I
09:43began and I hear it a lot that people
09:46look on my YouTube and they say oh she
09:49scaled to multiple six figures and a lot
09:51of it was organically and the start of
09:54me organically scaling was actually
09:56going on Facebook and posting to friends
09:59and family and then I posted on Facebook
10:01groups and I went into some narrow Niche
10:05Facebook groups that skyrocketed my
10:07views my visits and then I started
10:10getting sales and orders on my store and
10:13that's how I got my first 100 sales was
10:16through social media so I can't urge you
10:18enough to get those first 100 sales
10:20through some type of outside platform
10:22that's not Etsy the one thing that a lot
10:25of people may not know is Etsy actually
10:27rewards stores that can bring outside
10:30traffic into Etsy and if you're bringing
10:32a lot of traffic from Facebook Instagram
10:34Tick Tock maybe even YouTube into your
10:38Etsy store Etsy will reward you by
10:40boosting you in their Etsy algorithm in
10:42ranking systems so you may show up on
10:44page one on the Etsy search because that
10:46indicates to Etsy if you're getting a
10:49bunch of sales on one listing thing that
10:51you had posted on social media then that
10:54can give you that best seller badge and
10:56get you a lot of sales going forward
10:58even if you stop posting on social media
11:00that's something that happened to my
11:01store is I posted on Facebook and I
11:04posted on Facebook groups I got about 20
11:06sales on a few different listings and
11:09all those listings Over time became
11:11best-selling listings and then over six
11:14months they kept being bestseller
11:16listings even when I stopped posting on
11:18the Facebook groups so I can't tell you
11:21guys enough I can't urge you enough to
11:23create those social media accounts and
11:25no you do not need to post your face on
11:27those social media accounts there's so
11:29many different ways that you can create
11:30social media posts without your face and
11:34there's ways to create video posts now
11:36too with canva or playset mock-ups these
11:39are both really great resources and I
11:41have a tutorial on my YouTube channel on
11:44how to do that as well and how to create
11:46videos for posts for your social media
11:49accounts I highly recommend check
11:50checking that out at the very end of
11:52this video I hope that your main
11:54takeaway is to use tools and resources
11:57outside of the Etsy platform to bring in
12:00traffic into your own business whether
12:03that be with social media maybe even
12:05email marketing and also utilizing ways
12:08inside of that Z platform to increase
12:10your traffic as well by doing so would
12:12be increasing the amount of listings on
12:15your Etsy store and utilizing best
12:17practices for SEO in which I do have a

12:24below but these again are really great
12:27strategies in order to get those first
12:29100 sales and like I said earlier in
12:31your first 100 sales are going to feel
12:33like the hardest sales to achieve but
12:37once you get there it is amazing how
12:39quickly your Etsy store will scale up
12:42over time by just hitting that first
12:44Milestone of the first 100 sales on your
12:47Etsy stores besides that I also want to
12:50urge you to to not rely on Etsy solely
12:53for your organic growth and sales
12:55because although you could post hundreds
12:58to thousands of listings on Etsy and
13:00maybe get a few sales here or there if
13:02you're utilizing those resources and
13:04tools outside of etsy to bring traffic
13:06into your Etsy store that is going to be
13:09so much more control on trafficking and
13:12return customers on your business rather
13:14than posting listings on the Etsy
13:16platform besides that guys that's going
