00:17going to be broken up into three parts
00:19in part one i'm going to go over how to
00:21get 1 000 subscribers on youtube fast
00:24within part 2 i'm going to reveal how to
00:25get 4 000 hours of watch time as fast as
00:28possible and in part three we're gonna
00:30go over how i've gotten monetized in
00:32just 27 days and how you can implement
00:34these same exact tactics that i've used
00:36to get monetized as fast as possible and
00:39then we're going to have a bonus section
00:41later within the video that's going to
00:42reveal to you how to get monetized
00:45without even being monetized now you're
00:47probably wondering what i mean by that
00:48right now but rest assured that it's
00:50going to be incredibly valuable to you
00:52and i can't wait to share it and without
00:54further ado let's start with part number
00:56one which is how to get 1 000
00:58subscribers on youtube as fast as
01:02so how do you get your first thousand
01:06on youtube see a lot of people think
01:08that getting their first thousand
01:09subscribers has to be this super hard
01:11and complicated process but it's really
01:14not if you know what you're doing i've
01:16been able to get over a million
01:18subscribers on a youtube channel and
01:20over a hundred thousand subscribers on
01:22multiple other channels using the
01:24tactics that i'm going to show you in
01:26this video and i'm talking about getting
01:28your first thousand subscribers in just
01:31the next couple months you probably know
01:33that in order to monetize your channel
01:35and start making money from youtube ads
01:37that you need a thousand subscribers and
01:404 000 hours of watch time well in this
01:43video i'm gonna be showing you how you
01:44can get that first thousand subscribers
01:46so you can monetize your channel and
01:49start making money now before we get
01:51into this video make sure to hit that
01:52subscribe button and leave a comment
01:54below saying i subscribed i'll try my
01:56best to reply to as many comments as
01:58possible and this brings us into secret
02:00number one which is asking people to
02:03subscribe now here's where most people
02:05go wrong they typically say something
02:07like make sure to smash that subscribe
02:09button now the problem with this is that
02:11you're not telling the viewer what
02:12they're going to be getting in return
02:14and one of the best things that you can
02:16give them in return is some one-on-one
02:19attention how can you do this by having
02:21them leave a comment below the video
02:23saying i subscribed so saying something
02:26along the lines of make sure to
02:27subscribe and leave a comment down below
02:29saying that i subscribed and we'll try
02:31our best to reply to your comment if you
02:33say something along the lines of this
02:35and just a couple people comment i
02:37subscribed and then every single new
02:39viewer who watches your video will
02:40likely see those comments and see the
02:43social proof of everybody subscribing
02:45and all you need is just a couple people
02:47to comment i subscribed and then it's
02:49like a snowball effect and you'll get a
02:51lot more subscribers to
02:53views now if you don't want to do this
02:55on every single video that you upload
02:56make sure to give a value proposition of
02:58what you're giving in return for them
03:00subscribing for example you could say be
03:02sure to hit that subscribe button for
03:04regular videos on how to make money
03:06online or whatever your channel is about
03:08secret number two is to model proven
03:11content and you might be saying well
03:13where do i find proven content now the
03:15way you can do this is by going to
03:16youtube putting your channel niche in
03:18the search bar for example let's say you
03:20wanted to make technology videos put
03:22tech in the search bar of youtube and
03:24then filter the results on youtube by
03:26uploaded in the past week and then sort
03:29those videos by the highest view count
03:32to the lowest view count this will show
03:34you proven videos that were uploaded
03:36recently that are getting a lot of views
03:38but you are going to want to make sure
03:40that the topic is somewhat evergreen
03:42meaning that there's some kind of
03:43consistency so your video won't just die
03:46out so it's not just a topic that'll
03:48fade out and then what you want to do is
03:50make your own version of that already
03:52popular video but make sure to make it a
03:5410 minute version that's better than the
03:56original oftentimes you can take like a
03:59three to eight minute video and make it
04:01into a better 10 minute or longer video
04:04and do a lot better in terms of both
04:06views and subscribers secret number
04:08three is to keep people on youtube think
04:11about it this way you want views and
04:13subscribers from youtube and youtube has
04:17all the views and subscribers that you
04:18could ever want so how can you get those
04:21views and subscribers onto your videos
04:24and onto your channels that first
04:26thousand subscribers that you're looking
04:28for is tiny in comparison to the
04:31billions of people on youtube now
04:33youtube is a business meaning one of
04:35their prime objectives is to make money
04:38now the way that youtube makes money is
04:40by keeping people on youtube and this is
04:43because the more people are on youtube
04:45the more ads they'll encounter therefore
04:47making youtube more money and the more
04:49they'll do things like leave super chats
04:51on live streams and all the other ways
04:53that youtube makes money subscribe to
04:55youtube premium and so on now if you can
04:58keep people on youtube meaning having a
05:00high audience retention on your videos
05:03youtube will give you all the views and
05:05rankings that you want so how do you
05:07practically do this one of the best ways
05:08of doing this is to take one of the most
05:10suspenseful parts of your video and put
05:13it in the beginning of your video this
05:14will hook the viewer early on so that
05:17they watch throughout the video and
05:19don't have that final payoff of right
05:21what the viewer actually wants to see
05:23until near the end of the video you can
05:26also do some type of curiosity thing as
05:28well like you will not believe the
05:30number one fastest car in this top 10
05:33fastest cars list and then go through
05:35all the cars and then when you get to
05:36the number one that's what people will
05:38be watching for they're for increasing
05:40your audience retention and keeping
05:42people on youtube further and a great
05:44way to see how you're doing is to go
05:46into your youtube analytics and take a
05:48look at your audience retention
05:50percentage for specific videos you want
05:52a 75 audience retention at the first
05:57throughout the rest of the video if you
05:59hit those numbers it's very likely that
06:01your channel is gonna blow up and you'll
06:02pass those first thousand subscribers
06:04with ease now most people's intros on
06:07youtube are way too long way too drawn
06:09out and a lot of people are just gonna
06:10click off your video before watching
06:12throughout your video so it's really
06:14imperative that you hook the people in
06:16the beginning of your video so that they
06:18watch more of your videos and ideally
06:20they stay on youtube and watch more
06:23youtube videos and that brings us into
06:25tip number four which is increasing your
06:27session time now session time is the
06:30total amount of time that a viewer
06:32spends on youtube and if youtube sees
06:34that people go to watch your videos and
06:36then they watch a bunch of more videos
06:38on youtube regardless if it's on your
06:40channel or someone else's channel that's
06:42an incredibly good factor within the
06:44youtube algorithm and it means that
06:47you're keeping people on the platform
06:49that's ultimately going to make you and
06:51youtube the most amount of money so you
06:54might be saying matt i don't have any
06:55control on how long people actually
06:57watch my videos how in the world am i
06:59supposed to keep people on youtube now
07:01one of the best ways of doing this is to
07:03have specific categories of content that
07:06you upload on your channel for example
07:09on the channel that you're watching
07:10right now i post videos on how to make
07:12money on youtube without making videos
07:15and i also post videos about how to grow
07:17on youtube and in turn i make playlists
07:20for each of these types of content now
07:22when you can get a viewer into a
07:24playlist environment they're much much
07:26much more likely to watch more and more
07:29and more videos because the next video
07:31that automatically plays after they
07:33watch the first video is another one of
07:35your videos so this will not only
07:37increase the session time on youtube but
07:40it will also increase your own watch
07:42time because you're keeping people on
07:44your videos another thing you can do is
07:46to have all the metadata meaning your
07:49titles descriptions and tags on your
07:52videos in a specific category of content
07:54as similar as possible this will make
07:57sure that your own videos are in the
07:59recommended feed and in the suggested
08:01feed of other ones of your videos so
08:03when someone watches one of your videos
08:05and then they go to watch another one in
08:07the suggested feed ideally that first
08:10video in the suggested video feed will
08:12be another one of your videos and if you
08:14can get people in these viewer feedback
08:17loops meaning they watch one of your
08:18videos and then they watch another and
08:20another this will increase the session
08:22time on your channel drastically and
08:25it'll give you so many extra points
08:27within the youtube algorithm and
08:28therefore make it a lot easier to get to
08:30your first thousand subscribers secret
08:33number five is to get people watching
08:36your videos and your channel see it
08:38doesn't matter if you have the best
08:40content in the world if you don't get
08:42people watching that content and you're
08:44not going to get any subscribers
08:46whatsoever unless people come to your
08:48channel and they come to your channel
08:50page and they hit that subscribe button
08:52so where do your videos actually surface
08:55on youtube and how can you get people to
08:57watch those videos well your videos
09:00surface in a few different places first
09:02of all they'll appear in search results
09:04which is very straightforward when
09:05someone searches for the title of your
09:07video or something related to your video
09:09ideally one of your videos will show up
09:11in the search results they'll also show
09:14up in something called the suggested
09:15video feed this is to the right of your
09:17video if you're watching videos on
09:19desktop and it's right below your video
09:22if you're watching videos on a mobile
09:24device and these will be suggested
09:25videos related to either your video or
09:28to the watch history of the person
09:30watching youtube and the third place
09:32that videos show up is in something
09:34called browse features this includes the
09:36home page of youtube when you go on
09:38youtube you see a conglomeration of
09:40videos and channels recommended to you
09:42based off of channels that you've
09:43already watched and based off of who
09:45you're subscribed to now it's not enough
09:47to just show up in all of these
09:49different places but the key is to make
09:52sure that someone doesn't just look at
09:54your video but they actually watch it
09:56and the way that you actually have power
09:58to increase the amount of people that
10:01watch your video after seeing them in
10:03all of these different places
10:05is to increase your click-through rate
10:08now click-through rate is the percentage
10:09of people who see your video and your
10:12thumbnail in browse features in search
10:14results in the suggested video feed and
10:16then they actually watch that video now
10:18youtube tells us that 80 of videos on
10:21youtube have less than a 5 click-through
10:24rate so if you want to do better than 80
10:27of the competition all you have to do is
10:30click-through rate that's why i
10:32recommend aiming for six percent and
10:34that's what i try to do across all of my
10:36youtube channels now this can differ
10:38greatly depending on the type of content
10:40that you produce depending on the niche
10:41that you're in so on average you really
10:43just want to do better than your channel
10:45average and always aim to be doing
10:47better than your channel average if you
10:49can get a 60 average view duration on a
10:5210 minute video along with a six percent
10:55click-through rate it's very likely that
10:57your video is going to blow up and
10:59another thing you can do is if you go
11:00into your youtube analytics and you look
11:02at your click-through rates for videos
11:04that you've uploaded in the past if your
11:06videos aren't getting a very good
11:08click-through rate you can replace those
11:10thumbnails and put a new thumbnail on
11:11your video and it will in no way affect
11:14your video negatively if you do this
11:16unless of course you put a worse
11:17thumbnail but if your thumbnail does
11:19better and the click-through rate goes
11:21up then you can keep that thumbnail
11:23going forward and you can do split tests
11:25on different videos and always be
11:26improving your channel now before we get
11:28into secret number six make sure to hit
11:30that like button and hit the subscribe
11:32button if you feel like you've gotten
11:33value so far secret number six is to
11:36post at least 33 videos now you can't
11:40expect to get a thousand subscribers on
11:42youtube if you just post one video or if
11:44you don't even post any content
11:46whatsoever i get so many people who come
11:48to me and say matt i've uploaded 12
11:50videos why am i not getting any views
11:52and my response is always that you
11:55haven't uploaded enough content to have
11:57enough data to make an informed decision
12:00i recommend posting at least 33 videos
12:03and then analyzing and optimizing based
12:05off the data that those videos provide i
12:08also call this the 33 rule and it's the
12:10average amount of videos that you need
12:12to upload to youtube until one of them
12:14takes off and i'm always aiming to have
12:16at least one of my videos takes off
12:18before those first 33 videos now you
12:21don't just want to go crazy and upload
12:22all kinds of random content to get your
12:24first 33 videos make sure that you're
12:27only uploading in a specific niche don't
12:30just upload all these random videos just
12:32hoping one sticks only upload videos in
12:35a single niche and then this will
12:36further implement similar metadata on
12:38your channel which i talked about
12:40earlier in this video and get people in
12:42those viewer feedback loops and remember
12:44what i said if you can keep people on
12:46youtube you're gonna get all the views
12:48and rankings that you want so bottom
12:50line make sure you stick to a single
12:52niche and upload at least 33 videos
12:54before you can make an informed decision
12:57about where to go with your content
12:58strategy from there because then you can
13:00analyze and optimize based off the data
13:02always be trying to get at least a six
13:04percent click-through rate and a 60
13:06average view duration on videos that are
13:08at least 10 minutes long and like i said
13:09you'll get all the views and rankings
13:11that you want if you do this now since
13:13you watched this far in the video i want
13:15to give you one extra bonus tip and this
13:18bonus tip is what not to do do not under
13:21any circumstances do sub for sub sub for
13:25sub or where people subscribe to each
13:27other's channels in order to game the
13:28youtube algorithm to get more
13:30subscribers will only hurt your channel
13:32and on top of that it breaks the youtube
13:34terms of service and you could be banned
13:36as a result and in all honesty sub4sub
13:39is not going to help you at all this is
13:41because every single subscriber that you
13:43accumulate by doing sub4sub isn't going
13:46to actually watch any of your content
13:47and if they do it's gonna be an
13:49incredibly small amount meaning you'll
13:51have a super small engagement rate for
13:54those subscribers as compared to how
13:56many subscribers that you have it will
13:58literally ruin your life okay maybe it
14:00won't ruin your life but bottom line
14:02don't do it i'm just trying to look out
14:03for everybody out there who's watching
14:05this video and make sure that you have
14:06the best chance for success and the best
14:09chance of getting those first thousand
14:10subscribers the proper way so that you
14:13can monetize your channel and start
14:15making money on youtube i hope you got a
14:17ton of value from that first part and in
14:19part two right here we're gonna go over
14:21the next essential step for getting
14:22monetized which is hitting 4 000 hours
14:25of watch time on your channel this
14:27simply means that people spend a total
14:29of 4 000 hours watching your videos and
14:32just as a reminder you need to hit these
14:344 000 hours of watch time within the
14:37365 days and they must be on public
14:40videos and i know that sounds like a lot
14:42if you're just starting out on youtube
14:44but trust me you can achieve it much
14:46faster than you probably think and i
14:47can't wait for section number three
14:49where i'm going to show you how i got
14:50monetized within just 27 days but right
14:52now it's really essential that we get
14:54those first 4 000 hours of watch time
14:56which we're going to be going over
14:58right now in order to understand how to
15:01get 4000 hours of watch time let's first
15:04take a look mathematically on how we can
15:06get those first 4 000 watch hours so in
15:09your youtube analytics you'll probably
15:11notice that watch time is displayed
15:14typically in minutes and this might make
15:16it kind of confusing you're wondering
15:18well if i have this many watch minutes
15:20and how many watch hours do i have so
15:22let me break it down for you so you can
15:23understand how much you need to actually
15:26get and so you can monitor your progress
15:28along the way 4 000 watch hours is 240
15:32000 watch minutes now if you make 10
15:35minute videos on your youtube channel
15:37and you get on average a 50 average view
15:40duration on your videos then that is
15:43five minutes of average watch time per
15:46video on your channel 240 000 total
15:50watch minutes which is needed to get
15:52monetized on youtube
15:54divided by five minutes of average watch
15:57time per video equals 48 000 so in this
16:01case you only need 48 000 views across
16:04all of your youtube videos on your
16:06channels in order to get those first 4
16:09000 hours of watch time and get
16:11monetized on your channel so let's break
16:13it down even further if you upload 33
16:16different youtube videos you only need
16:19455 views per video and if you upload a
16:23hundred videos you only need an average
16:26of 480 views per video and you might be
16:29saying well that's a lot of views how in
16:31the world am i supposed to actually get
16:3248 000 views on my videos well the good
16:35news is that it's not as hard as you
16:37probably think and i'm doing this on new
16:39channels all the time from complete
16:41scratch and i'm gonna lay out the
16:43blueprint for you right now in these
16:46nine tips tip number nine make videos
16:49that are longer than 10 minutes and the
16:51reason i say this is because longer
16:53videos typically have a longer average
16:56view duration and in turn more watch
16:58time on those videos to put this in
17:00perspective if someone watches 30 of a
17:0310 minute video that's three minutes of
17:06watch time whereas if someone watches 30
17:09of a one minute video that's only 18
17:12seconds of watch time so now you can
17:14start to see the benefits of producing
17:16longer videos because you're going to
17:18get more watch time per view on those
17:21videos meaning that you have to get less
17:23views overall on your channel in order
17:25to get those first 4 000 watch hours and
17:28also another benefit of producing videos
17:30that are longer than 10 minutes is that
17:32once you do get monetized you'll be able
17:34to put multiple ad breaks on your videos
17:36and make a lot more money as a result
17:38and i know youtube recently changes as
17:40well and youtube recently released a
17:42policy saying that you can put multiple
17:44ads on videos that are longer than eight
17:46minutes so i would just make sure that
17:48you're producing videos that are at
17:49least eight minutes long but longer than
17:5110 minutes would be ideal tip number
17:53eight make list videos so you might be
17:56wondering how you can actually produce
17:58videos that are longer than 10 minutes
18:00what are you going to say in the videos
18:01and how can your videos actually be
18:03structured well list videos are an
18:06amazing structure to apply to videos on
18:08your channel and it makes it a lot
18:10easier to produce these 10 minute long
18:12videos and in turn get more watch time
18:14and i'm sure you've seen list videos out
18:16there on youtube for example the top 10
18:19fastest cars the top 10 biggest dogs in
18:21the world and videos of this nature and
18:24you could apply list videos to almost
18:25any different niche and any different
18:27subject out there on youtube that you're
18:30talking about to demonstrate why list
18:32videos are so good for example if you
18:34make a 10 minute video about the top 10
18:36biggest dogs then you only have to talk
18:39about each different dog for one minute
18:42each and just like that you have a 10
18:44minute video so whatever you're talking
18:46about if you make top 10 videos then all
18:49you have to do is talk about each
18:51subject for only one minute each and
18:53then at the end you'll have that 10
18:56minute video and another benefit of list
18:58videos is that they typically perform
19:00very well in terms of audience retention
19:02and watch time because they typically
19:04keep the viewers attention by covering
19:06lots of things in the video and the more
19:09cuts that you have throughout the video
19:10the better you'll be able to hook the
19:11viewer in and keep them watching as long
19:14as possible therefore giving you more
19:15watch time and getting you closer to
19:17those 4 000 watch hours tip number seven
19:20is to use playlists correctly so if you
19:22run a youtube channel that talks about
19:24multiple different subjects maybe just a
19:26single subject but you have multiple
19:28different categories of videos let's say
19:30for example you run an animal channel
19:32and you do top 10 dog videos talking
19:34about the top 10 biggest dogs the top 10
19:36smallest dogs that would be a category
19:38of content and then for example you
19:40could have another category of content
19:42comparing different dog breeds for
19:44example you might upload videos like
19:45german shepherds versus siberian huskies
19:48now the reason you want to make
19:49playlists for each of these different
19:51subjects is that every time you link to
19:53one of these videos or you leave links
19:55in the description of one of your videos
19:57or people go to your channel and they
19:58look at your playlist every time you get
20:01a viewer in the playlist environment
20:03you'll get a lot more watch time as a
20:05result and you might be saying well
20:07how's that possible that's because when
20:09someone clicks to watch a video from a
20:11playlist link and you get them in a
20:13playlist environment they will
20:15automatically after they're done
20:16watching that video be prompted to watch
20:18another one of your videos in another
20:20one of your videos and another one and
20:22that in turn is going to get you a lot
20:24more watch time and get you a higher
20:26session time on youtube meaning that
20:29every single person who watches one of
20:30your videos on average will watch more
20:33of your videos if you can get them into
20:35a playlist environment so it's really
20:37imperative that you use playlists
20:40correctly on your youtube videos and
20:42you'll get a lot more watch time as a
20:44result and places you can put these
20:45playlists are in the end screens of your
20:47videos in the cards of your videos and
20:49directly on your channel page you can
20:52actually feature playlists tip number
20:54six is to incorporate a popular upload
20:56section on your youtube channels so when
20:59you go to customize your youtube channel
21:00you'll notice that you can actually add
21:03a popular upload section to
21:05your channel now your most popular
21:07videos are probably your most popular
21:09for a reason and typically on average
21:12they'll also get more watch time as well
21:15so it can be really beneficial to
21:17feature some of your most popular videos
21:19on your main youtube channel page and as
21:22you can see on my youtube channel right
21:24here we have the most popular upload
21:26section listed right here and the way
21:28that you do that is you click customize
21:30channel directly on your channel page
21:32and then all you have to do is scroll
21:33down and click add section select from
21:36content just select popular uploads now
21:38i already have it right there and then
21:39just click done and then you'll have
21:41that section on your channel and this
21:43makes it so that every single person who
21:45comes onto your channel they'll see that
21:47popular upload section and you want to
21:49get them watching those videos because
21:50they're already proven to do good
21:52they're already proven to most likely
21:54get you more watch time as well
21:56therefore getting you closer to 4 000
21:58watch hours tip number five is to
22:00feature a playlist of high watch time
22:03videos so rather than just hoping that
22:05your most popular videos have a high
22:06amount of watch time which they most
22:08likely do but just to be sure what you
22:10can additionally do is go into your
22:12youtube analytics and you can do that by
22:14going to your youtube creator studio and
22:16then clicking analytics right here and
22:17then what you're going to want to do is
22:19go to engagement right here and then as
22:22you can see you can see your top videos
22:24right here in terms of watch time and
22:26another thing you'll want to do is
22:27select for the lifetime of your channel
22:30right there from that drop down and then
22:32you can see the videos of yours that
22:33have gotten the most amount of watch
22:35hours and they'll be shown right here so
22:37then what you're going to want to do is
22:38make a playlist ordering these videos
22:41from the first one having the most
22:42amount of watch time second one having
22:44the second most amount of watch time
22:46third one and so on listing your videos
22:48in chronological order from your top
22:50watch time to the least amount of watch
22:53time and then you can simply add that
22:54playlist on your channel page by
22:56clicking add section and then you're
22:57just going to want to select single
22:59playlist and then you can select that
23:01playlist right there tip number four is
23:03to do live streams doing live streams is
23:06one of the most underlooked ways on how
23:08you can get 4 000 hours of watch time on
23:10your youtube channel and the reason that
23:12is is because live streams typically
23:14have a very high average view duration
23:17due to the fact that people who join
23:19live streams typically watch him a lot
23:21longer than watching like traditional
23:23videos so all you really need if you're
23:25doing live streams is for a couple of
23:28people to join those live streams and
23:29this can add up very fast for example
23:32all of my biggest videos with the
23:34biggest average view durations on this
23:36channel that you're watching right now
23:38have been live streams let me show you
23:40just how powerful live streams are so if
23:43we hop into my analytics right here as
23:45you can see on most of my videos there's
23:47anywhere from like a four to six minute
23:49average view duration on most of my
23:51videos and most of my videos are around
23:5310 minutes long now if we take a look at
23:55this right here you'll notice that this
23:58video right here has a 13 minute average
24:01view duration over double the average
24:03for my channel and if we take a look at
24:05this video right here it's a live stream
24:07so live streams can be incredibly
24:09powerful and this one was just under two
24:11hours long so if you can go even longer
24:13than two hours you can really start to
24:15add up the watch time fast tip number
24:18three is to upload 33 different youtube
24:21videos now if you don't have any videos
24:23up on youtube you're not going to get
24:24any watch time and i know that seems
24:26self-explanatory but i see so many
24:28people out there give up uploading on
24:30youtube after they've uploaded only 10
24:32videos and i really urge you to really
24:34give it a shot and upload at least 33
24:37different youtube videos and then go in
24:39and analyze the analytics of those
24:41videos see which videos of yours are
24:42getting the highest watch time the
24:43highest average view durations and then
24:46make more videos like that and the
24:47reason i say 33 is because that's what
24:49i've observed to be the average amount
24:51of videos on youtube channels that i've
24:53ran until one of them does take off and
24:55you could get lucky right off the bat
24:57and within your first 33 videos one of
24:59them might even take off and you might
25:01get those 4 000 hours of watch time and
25:04in these first 33 different videos don't
25:06worry too much about making the best
25:08content in the entire world just focus
25:10on getting those videos up and then you
25:12can go and analyze your analytics
25:14improve double down on what's working
25:16improve based off of what you're seeing
25:18and then this is gonna make getting
25:19those first four thousand hours of watch
25:20time a lot easier now that's not to say
25:23that you just upload a bunch of random
25:24videos and random niches and everything
25:26you want to only upload videos in a
25:30niche don't just upload all these random
25:32videos so you can hit those 33 videos
25:34you want to only upload videos in as
25:37specific of a niche as possible tip
25:39number two is to double down on what's
25:41working on your channel so once you have
25:44your first 33 videos up on your youtube
25:46channel it's time to go investigate and
25:49see what's working and what's not so you
25:51can cut out what's not working and
25:53double down on what is working and the
25:55way you can do this is to go into your
25:57analytics and take a look at the
25:58audience retention graphs for different
26:00videos on your channel when you see that
26:02graph spike it means that people are
26:04watching more at that point on your
26:07video and you want to do more things
26:08like what's happening at that point
26:10when it goes down you want to cut out
26:12whatever you're doing at that point in
26:14the video in future videos that you
26:15produce and upload on your channel and
26:18the specific benchmarks that i like to
26:20look for in terms of audience retention
26:22watch time are at least a 60 average
26:25view duration on videos that are about
26:2710 minutes long now if you can hit 60
26:30you're doing incredibly good and most
26:32videos on youtube don't have anywhere
26:34near those analytics and it's very
26:36likely you're to go viral as a result
26:38another thing you're going to want to
26:39look at is click-through rate on your
26:41youtube videos now if you're not
26:42familiar click-through rate is a
26:44percentage of people who click to watch
26:46your videos after seeing your videos and
26:47things like search results browse
26:49features the suggested video tab now
26:51ideally you want to hit at least a six
26:53percent click-through rate now there are
26:55certain niches where click-through rate
26:56will be lower than others so this is
26:58just on all of youtube across a big
27:01broad spectrum of niches and youtube
27:03actually tells us that 80 of videos on
27:05youtube are within a two and five
27:08percent click-through rate so if you can
27:09hit six percent you're doing better than
27:11most videos but really you just want to
27:13look at your channel average across your
27:15entire channel and always try to be
27:17doing better than your channel average
27:19tip number one is to put a proper
27:21channel trailer so as the channel
27:23trailer on your youtube channel you're
27:25gonna wanna put one of your highest
27:26watch time videos in that spot and this
27:30is gonna really help jumpstart you to
27:31get those first 4 000 hours of watch
27:33time because then new potential
27:35subscribers who take a look at that
27:37video on your channel trailer are likely
27:39to watch more of that trailer and in
27:41turn as an added bonus you'll get a
27:43bunch of more subscribers as well and
27:45now let me give you three extra bonus
27:47tips that if you take away anything from
27:49this youtube video it's these three
27:52things one growth on youtube is usually
27:55exponential meaning that when you upload
27:57a bunch of videos on youtube and you
27:59don't see any traction
28:01and i've noticed this on so many of the
28:03different channels that i've ran
28:04oftentimes the graph on your youtube
28:06channel in terms of watch time looks
28:08something like this and then all of a
28:10sudden it shoots up like this and
28:13typically this happens around the 33
28:15video mark and if it doesn't then you
28:17can double down on what's working get
28:19rid of what's not working and then
28:21optimize based off your analytics so you
28:23can get that exponential growth on your
28:25youtube channel so remember that growth
28:27on youtube is usually exponential so
28:29don't give up if you're not seeing any
28:31results you could literally just be one
28:33video away from everything taking off
28:35two the longer your videos are the
28:38easier it is to get 4 000 watch hours on
28:41youtube so remember this try to produce
28:43videos that are at least 10 minutes long
28:44and if you can at least eight minutes
28:46long is really the minimum that i
28:48recommend when you're starting out if
28:50you want to get those first 4 000 watch
28:51hours as fast as possible and another
28:54great way to produce long videos that a
28:55lot of people will watch a lot of is to
28:58do live streams on your channel and
29:00number three don't stop uploading no
29:02matter what this is the most important
29:04rule do not stop uploading don't give up
29:06if you don't see any results in the
29:08first 33 videos that you upload or in
29:10the first 10 videos that you upload i
29:11see so many people give up after they
29:13upload five videos on youtube so at
29:15least give it a fair shot upload a lot
29:18of videos on your channel the more the
29:19better i generally recommend uploading
29:21one video a day but i also did a video
29:23on my youtube channel that you guys can
29:25check out where i go over how often you
29:27should be uploading on youtube because
29:29there are some exceptions to that and i
29:31show you exactly what you should be
29:32doing in that video if you're interested
29:35all right awesome job making it through
29:37that segment right there and now you
29:39know how to hit the monetization
29:40requirements on youtube but if you're
29:42watching this video right here you
29:44probably want to do it fast right you
29:46don't want this to take years and you
29:48want to hit the requirements in the next
29:49couple months which is 100 possible and
29:53in fact i've done it in just 27 days and
29:55in our next segment number three we're
29:57going to be going over how exactly i did
29:59that and how you can implement the same
30:02exact tactics we're going to be going
30:04over that right now my record for
30:07uploading videos on a brand new channel
30:09and meeting the requirements for
30:10monetization from scratch is just two
30:14weeks and by the fourth week the channel
30:16was accepted into the youtube partner
30:18program and monetized so that's only one
30:20month to go from having no uploads on a
30:22channel to having a monetized channel
30:25imagine if one month from now you could
30:27be monetized and making money on youtube
30:29now let's do some math and see how it's
30:31even possible to potentially get
30:33monetized on youtube in just a month now
30:36quick disclaimer this is a hypothetical
30:38situation in no way does this guarantee
30:40if you upload videos for a month that
30:42you're going to get monetized but i do
30:44truly believe this is going to help you
30:46a ton you need 4 000 hours of watch time
30:48and 1 000 subscribers to meet the
30:50requirements for the monetization
30:52program now you might be saying matt
30:53that's a ton and that's going to take
30:55forever well it can actually happen
30:57faster than you probably think and let
30:58me introduce you to the 30-day youtube
31:01monetization challenge say you were to
31:03take me up on this challenge and upload
31:05a new video on your channel every single
31:07day for 30 days let's say each of your
31:10videos is an average of 12 minutes long
31:12and let's say that each of your videos
31:14gets an average of a 50
31:16audience view duration meaning for every
31:18person who watches your video they watch
31:20about half of your video that's six
31:22minutes of watch time per view now
31:24remember we have to get that four
31:26thousand hours of watch time and if we
31:28break it down four thousand hours is 240
31:31000 minutes now if our videos are
31:33getting six minutes of average watch
31:35time per view then we would need 40 000
31:38total views in order to hit those 4 000
31:41hours of watch time now that sounds like
31:43a lot until we break it down and we see
31:45that the average view count per video
31:47that we would have to aim for is only 1
31:5033 views per video and if you upload
31:53more than 30 videos then you have to get
31:55even less views now this is just an
31:56average view count per video now from
31:59running tons of channels myself what
32:00i've noticed is that about 80 of the
32:02views come from only 20
32:05of the videos what's more likely to
32:06happen is that you'll upload a ton of
32:08videos with very little to no traction
32:10and then you'll upload one or a couple
32:12videos that get a ton of traction now
32:14you might be saying matt what about a
32:15thousand subscribers how can i hit that
32:17fast within 30 days now my channels get
32:20about an average of a three percent view
32:22to subscriber ratio meaning if i get 100
32:25views i typically like to see three new
32:27subscribers on the channel if we were to
32:29get 40 000 total views and three percent
32:32of those views subscribe that's 1 200
32:35new subscribers which would meet the
32:37requirements for monetization now you
32:39might be saying matt is this actually
32:41possible and can i actually do this now
32:44realistically it's probably going to
32:46take longer than 30 days to get
32:48monetized this is a hypothetical
32:50situation where this would be possible
32:52and i've gotten channels monetized in
32:53under a month i've had tons of students
32:55get their channels monetized in just a
32:57couple months but you're probably
32:58wondering how long is this realistically
33:01going to take well the average youtube
33:02channel with 1 000 to 10 000 subscribers
33:05on it has about 150 videos on the
33:08channel and if you uploaded three videos
33:10every single week it would take about a
33:12year to get those 150 videos that will
33:14hopefully then translate into at least a
33:16thousand subscribers so you can get
33:18monetized but this is the average
33:20channel with one to ten thousand
33:22subscribers now most channels on youtube
33:24have no idea what they're doing they
33:25don't have any strategy in place and i
33:27want to give you an actual strategy so
33:29you can hopefully hit these requirements
33:31sooner just look at the first videos of
33:33any of your favorite youtubers and
33:34you'll probably see that they weren't
33:36the best videos in the world but they
33:38improved over time and most youtubers
33:40including myself in the beginning
33:42learned the slow way through trial and
33:44error what works and what doesn't well
33:47we can actually shortcut this process by
33:49a lot and potentially get monetized way
33:51sooner with these secrets i really wish
33:54i had someone tell me these secrets in
33:56the beginning when i was starting my
33:57channels and realistically i would
33:59probably have over 10 million
34:00subscribers between my channels instead
34:02of the only couple million that i have
34:04right now now you're probably saying
34:05matt give me the secrets and i'm going
34:07to give them to you but just promise me
34:09that you're actually going to implement
34:11this because it could potentially change
34:13your channel and it could potentially
34:14change your entire life if you start
34:16making money from your channel and build
34:17this up into a real business well
34:19without further ado secret number one is
34:21to upload 30 to 60 videos on your
34:24channel to start now you're not going to
34:26get any views subscribers or anything
34:28you're not going to get monetized if you
34:29don't upload any videos on your channel
34:32and i try to see at least some type of
34:33traction within those first 30 to 60
34:35videos that i upload on a channel and if
34:37you take me up on this 30 day youtube
34:39challenge and upload videos to your
34:41channel on a regular basis over the
34:43course of a 30 day period i truly
34:45believe that your channel is going to be
34:47way better off than it was before and
34:49leave a comment down below if you're
34:50going to do this they might be saying
34:52matt how often should i upload and that
34:54brings me into secret number two which
34:56is to keep a consistent upload schedule
34:58i recommend aiming to upload at least
35:01one video every single week now if you
35:03can do more than do three videos a week
35:05and if you can do more than that then do
35:07a video every single day but i recommend
35:09starting at one video a week seeing how
35:11much you can upload you can always
35:12increase the frequency which is
35:14typically better than decreasing it and
35:16be realistic about this and think about
35:17a schedule that you can actually keep
35:19long term with your channel secret
35:21number three and this one is so big do
35:24not guess this is a mistake that i made
35:26in the beginning and this is a mistake
35:28that most youtubers make they guess what
35:31type of content they should make and
35:32they guess how they should make the
35:34content how they should optimize it and
35:36everything else when really they should
35:38be looking at what has already worked on
35:40youtube do not go into a niche that
35:42hasn't been proven to work on youtube do
35:44not upload video ideas that haven't been
35:47proven to already get a ton of views i
35:49recommend making sure there are at least
35:50a couple of videos with over a hundred
35:52thousand views within your niche and if
35:54there is then you're good then i
35:56recommend modeling what has already
35:57worked video ideas that have already
35:59worked title ideas that have worked
36:00thumbnails that have worked for example
36:02if you see that every single thumbnail
36:04within your niche has a red circle in it
36:06this is a pretty good sign to include
36:07red circles within your thumbnails now
36:09this doesn't mean copy everybody
36:11directly but use these channels as
36:13inspiration and model what has already
36:15worked they might be saying matt why
36:17would they watch my videos instead of
36:18the competition especially if there's
36:20better videos out there on youtube why
36:22would they watch mine and how can i get
36:24views and subscribers and watch time and
36:26get monetized well youtube is huge
36:29there's more viewers now than there ever
36:30have been on the platform and
36:32competition to a very large degree can
36:34actually be a really good thing i know
36:36this sounds absurd but if there's a lot
36:38of competition within your niche these
36:40are more opportunities for your videos
36:42to get recommended in the suggested
36:44video feed of those competitors videos
36:47you just need to make sure that your
36:48videos are just as good as the
36:50competition meaning that if you go watch
36:52one of your competitors videos and then
36:54one of your videos and you watch it in
36:56an unbiased way and ask yourself
36:58if i was a viewer looking for a video
37:00which one would i get the most value
37:02from now value can be educational or
37:04entertainment value and you don't have
37:06to be the absolute best videos within
37:08your niche to potentially get millions
37:10of views and subscribers you just have
37:12to be pretty good and i've done this
37:13myself and i've gotten millions of
37:15subscribers doing so secret number four
37:17and this one sounds really strange but
37:19hang with me on this one get monetized
37:21before getting monetized now you might
37:24be saying matt what in the world do you
37:26mean by getting monetized before getting
37:28monetized well it sounds crazy but you
37:30can actually get monetized before
37:32hitting a thousand subscribers in 4 000
37:34hours of watch time this is by first of
37:36all making sure that you're in a good
37:38niche related to health wealth happiness
37:41and relationships now you might be
37:42saying matt why do these niches
37:44potentially get monetized sooner it's
37:46because there's a ton of demand for
37:48buying products within these niches and
37:51you can become an affiliate for these
37:52products from places like
37:54digistore24.com or clickbank.com and
37:56there's a ton of products you can
37:58promote to potentially make money way
38:00sooner you can even create your own
38:01product or online course and sell it
38:03with your channel that's what i do with
38:05this channel make money matt i have a
38:06youtube course where i teach people how
38:08to succeed on youtube and i make over a
38:10hundred thousand dollars per month from
38:13that course meanwhile ad revenue wise i
38:15make anywhere from six to twelve
38:16thousand dollars a month and someone in
38:18my program made over seventy thousand
38:20dollars with less than two thousand
38:23subscribers by selling his own course
38:26and again it's best to be in a niche
38:27related to health wealth happiness or
38:30relationships because there's a ton of
38:31demand for buying products within these
38:33niches not to say you can't make courses
38:35and you can't promote products outside
38:37these niches but typically i like to
38:39look for some sort of sub niche within
38:41these main categories secret number five
38:43is making sure that your videos can get
38:46monetized imagine how bad it would be if
38:49you got a thousand subscribers and four
38:51thousand hours of watch time and you
38:53didn't get monetized you'd probably
38:56throw your computer against the wall and
38:58i wouldn't blame you but there's a few
38:59key things that we can do to make sure
39:01that our content is good and that we can
39:03get monetized number one don't re-upload
39:06other people's videos don't just make
39:08tick-tock compilations and re-upload
39:10them to your channel you probably won't
39:12get monetized doing this and even if you
39:14do it's going to be very short-lived and
39:16if you do use other people's content
39:18within your videos which is possible a
39:20lot of my top channels that have gone
39:21millions of subscribers do exactly this
39:24and i have tons of students doing the
39:25same thing and i teach how to do this
39:27within my course tube mastery and
39:29monetization but you need to make sure
39:30that you're doing it the correct way
39:32this is by following fair use making
39:34sure you have an original human voice
39:36over on the video and making sure you
39:38follow youtube's policies and making
39:40sure your content is transformative and
39:42i talk about that way more in depth in
39:43my youtube course to mastery number two
39:46make sure that you have a human
39:48voiceover now some channels have gone
39:50monetized with robot text-to-speech
39:52voice-overs but a lot have not so i
39:54wouldn't recommend risking it plus your
39:56videos are probably going to do way
39:57better with a human voiceover anyways
39:59and number three make family-friendly
40:01content i don't recommend swearing in
40:03your videos too much or showing anything
40:05violent or explicit and making sure you
40:07follow all the rules in the youtube
40:08monetization policies remember there's
40:10going to be a human from youtube
40:12reviewing your channel so it's best to
40:14follow these rules even if you do get
40:16monetized and you're breaking a rule
40:18it's going to be short-lived so might as
40:19well follow the rules get monetized and
40:21build a long-term business with your
40:23channel trust me it's worth it to start
40:25getting those monthly paychecks from
40:27youtube and secret number six if nothing
40:29else implement this action checklist
40:32make sure your niche has worked on
40:34youtube you see other example channels
40:35within your niche doing very well post
40:37at least 30 videos modeling what is
40:39already worked within your niche analyze
40:41your analytics and plan out your next
40:43batch of 33 videos based on the data
40:45from the first follow the monetization
40:47rules think about alternative
40:48monetization strategies and whatever you
40:50do do not give up early that's really
40:52the biggest thing if you don't give up
40:54you're going to be improving your
40:55channel over time but we can really
40:57shortcut that process by implementing
40:59some of the things within this video and
41:01now as i promised we're going to be
41:02going over some bonus tips on how to get
41:05monetized before getting monetized but
41:07before i do i first want to give you
41:09another bonus for sticking with me this
41:11long within the video which is going to
41:13be a list of some of the highest cpm
41:15niches from my personal experience now
41:18cpm simply means how much money that
41:20your channel makes from ad revenue per
41:22thousand views on your channel and
41:24certain niches have more advertisers
41:26spending money within those niches
41:28therefore meaning they are higher cpm
41:30and you make more money and to
41:32demonstrate to you how powerful cpm is
41:35if you get 100 000 views at only a 2 cpm
41:38which is very low by the way then you
41:42but if you get that same 100 000 views
41:46but hit a 20 cpm then you make 2 000
41:50now with cpm sometimes the higher cpm
41:53niches don't get as many views so
41:55sometimes it is beneficial to choose a
41:57lower cpm niche if there's more demand
41:59within that niche and basically what i'm
42:01trying to say is that high cpm niches
42:03and low cpm niches can both definitely
42:05work and there's pros and cons for each
42:07but maybe if i share this list from my
42:09experience of some of the most high cpm
42:11niches it'll spark some ideas off in
42:13your mind on a channel that you might
42:14have already wanted to do anyways and as
42:17a bonus you could make a ton of money
42:19per thousand views with your channel and
42:22without further ado a list of the
42:23highest cpm niches are finance make
42:26money online technology health investing
42:29travel legal insurance makeup marketing
42:33cars real estate and movies and by the
42:36way if you're ever curious about finding
42:37more high cpm niches on youtube a little
42:40trick you can do is to go on google and
42:41look up which advertisers are spending
42:43the most amount of money on youtube and
42:46when i was doing research on this one of
42:47the top advertisers i found on youtube
42:50was apple now apple is obviously a
42:52smartphone manufacturer and in my
42:54opinion it makes sense to assume that if
42:55you create videos about technology and
42:57cell phone reviews these are likely to
42:59be keywords that apple would be
43:01advertising on meaning the cpms within
43:03those natures would typically be higher
43:05by my estimation and also if we go down
43:07the list of some of the top advertisers
43:09we have turbo tax which goes into tax
43:11software we have expedia which ties into
43:14travel travel videos are huge on youtube
43:16we have geico for insurance we have
43:18disney for movies and entertainment and
43:20everything like that we have bloomberg
43:21which relates to finance then we have
43:23stars entertainment which is related to
43:25movies and entertainment we have the
43:27motley fool which is related to finance
43:28and investing and we have carvana which
43:31is related to cars and automotive videos
43:33and now i must say that this also
43:35depends on the amount of videos in a
43:36certain niche compared to the amount of
43:38advertisers spend but this can be a good
43:40way at least to get an idea of how much
43:43advertisers are spending on youtube and
43:45which niches are likely to be higher cpm
43:48now i know i mentioned it briefly in the
43:49last segment that you just watched that
43:51you can get monetized without even being
43:54monetized and that is 100 true and i
43:57make way more with these methods that
43:59i'm about to show you than from just
44:01youtube ad revenue alone specifically
44:04i'm going to be going over six different
44:06ways on how to get monetized before
44:08getting monetized in this segment right
44:11now i'm gonna reveal six ways that you
44:14can make money on youtube without being
44:17monetized and without ads my name is
44:19matt parr i run nine different youtube
44:21channels and i've been lucky enough to
44:23get a channel to get over a million
44:24subscribers and you probably know that
44:26you need at least 4 000 hours of watch
44:28time and 1 000 subscribers to be able to
44:31join the youtube partner program to
44:33start making money on youtube from ads
44:36but what if i were to tell you that you
44:38can actually make money on youtube
44:40without ads so that means you don't have
44:43to wait to get 4 000 hours of watch time
44:46and 1 000 subscribers and you can
44:48potentially start making money very soon
44:51and that's not to say that you can't
44:52make a ton of money with youtube ads in
44:55fact i make over thirty thousand dollars
44:57per month just from youtube ads across
45:00my nine different youtube channels
45:02however i make over a hundred thousand
45:04dollars per month from different
45:06monetization sources and we're going to
45:08be going over some of those sources in
45:10this video today so in this video today
45:13i'm going to be going over six free ways
45:16to make money on youtube
45:18without ads and i've ranked these from
45:20number six to number one from what i
45:23would consider the worst ways to make
45:24money on youtube without ads to the
45:27absolute best way to make money on
45:29youtube without add so make sure to
45:32watch and tell number one to see my
45:34number one recommended strategy but i'm
45:35going to be giving you some super
45:37valuable information in this video so
45:39without further ado let's get straight
45:41into the video so for each of these six
45:44methods i'm gonna be going over the good
45:47the bad and how you can get started
45:49doing the particular method so let's
45:51start with method number six which is
45:53sponsorships i'm sure you've seen big
45:56youtube channels that have done
45:57sponsorships on their channel in which
45:59they say something along the lines of
46:01this video was sponsored by this company
46:04this is where companies will pay to get
46:06an integrated brand sponsorship on a
46:08particular youtube video good thing
46:10about sponsorships is you don't have to
46:12have your own product however the bad
46:14thing about sponsorships and why i
46:16ranked it as number six is because you
46:19typically need a lot of subscribers to
46:22make a brand deal that would get you any
46:24substantial income from youtube so
46:26sponsorships aren't something that's
46:28gonna happen right away the next day
46:30after you start your youtube channel but
46:32once you build up an audience you could
46:33do sponsorships every now and then
46:35however i personally have never done a
46:37sponsorship on this make money mad
46:40channel and typically when you do
46:41sponsorships a lot of them are done on
46:44personal channels and i haven't done one
46:46sponsorship on this channel yet because
46:48i personally would rather want to sell
46:50something that i had control over
46:52instead of a company telling me what to
46:54say now if i really believed in a
46:56product and it was something that i
46:57regularly used myself i would consider
47:00doing a sponsorship for that but
47:02typically i don't like what's associated
47:04with doing sponsorships and that's why i
47:06ranked it as number six now let's go to
47:08method number five which is merch i'm
47:11sure you've seen youtubers out there
47:12plugging their merch every 10 seconds in
47:14their videos and by merch i mean
47:16clothing accessories t-shirts hoodies
47:19hats there's so many different pieces of
47:21merch that you could potentially sell
47:22that could be branded with your channel
47:24logo or things from your youtube channel
47:27that your fans could connect with now if
47:29you wanted to make money from your
47:30youtube channel with merch the two main
47:33platforms are teespring and shopify now
47:35the good thing about selling your merch
47:37through a platform like shopify and then
47:39maybe also an extension like printful
47:41that'll allow you to fulfill orders is
47:43that you'll make a lot more profit per
47:45sale on your merch and then the good
47:47thing about teespring is that it
47:49integrates directly in with youtube so
47:51you'll see your merch below your youtube
47:53videos popping up and that just gives
47:55viewers one more chance to buy your
47:57merch and also teespring will do a lot
47:59of advertising for you
48:01as well if they find customers that they
48:03think are a good fit they'll advertise
48:05in a variety of different platforms and
48:06on a ton of different places now the
48:08good thing about merch is that it
48:10promotes brand awareness and it builds a
48:12sense of community with all of your
48:13subscribers and the ones that buy the
48:15merch however the bad thing about merch
48:17is the fact that you only make a tiny
48:19amount of income per sale so that means
48:22you have to sell a lot of merch to
48:25actually make any sizeable amount of
48:27money and this can be great if you have
48:28a huge following but if you don't merch
48:31may not be the best option to make money
48:33on youtube without ads method number
48:36four is memberships and by memberships
48:39we mean having people pay a recurring
48:41monthly fee whether it's one dollar a
48:43month five dollars a month ten dollars a
48:45month every single month to get access
48:47to either community exclusive content
48:50exclusive live streams and this is
48:52something that you can offer and
48:53potentially make money on youtube
48:56without ads now if you wanted to release
48:58a membership there's a couple of
48:59different ways of going about doing it
49:01and there's a couple different things
49:02that you could offer in return for that
49:05recurring monthly fee that you'll charge
49:07your members now one thing that you
49:09could offer is a private community
49:10whether that be a facebook group a
49:12discord group or anything like that so
49:14you could offer exclusive content in
49:16which you post content to youtube as
49:18unlisted and then share the links only
49:20with your members and then lastly you
49:22could do exclusive live streams with
49:24your members and answer people's
49:26questions maybe give some behind the
49:28scenes looks at your youtube operation
49:30as well and in terms of platforms you
49:32can do memberships directly on youtube
49:34now youtube has membership so if you've
49:36seen that join button next to the
49:38subscriber button on any big youtube
49:40channel pages that is actually for
49:43memberships in which you can get access
49:45to memberships for a particular youtube
49:47channel now the second option in terms
49:49of offering memberships would be to
49:51offer it through a platform like patreon
49:54so with patreon it's just like youtube
49:56memberships however i personally would
49:58do it on youtube since youtube's gonna
50:00push that more since it's integrated
50:02directly on the platform plus people
50:04don't typically like to leave the
50:06platform either however there are
50:08platforms like patreon as well now the
50:10good thing about memberships is that you
50:12can make monthly recurring
50:14revenue and if say you have a bunch of
50:16people subscribed to your membership you
50:19can kind of get an idea of what you're
50:20going to be making every single month
50:22obviously depending on the churn and how
50:24many people unsubscribe every single
50:26month however as long as you're getting
50:28more subscribers to your membership your
50:30monthly recurring revenue will continue
50:32to grow now the bad thing about
50:33memberships is that you typically only
50:35make a very small amount of money per
50:37month per customer and a lot of people
50:40who offer memberships offer it at price
50:42points like one dollar a month five
50:44dollars a month and that's not much
50:46money per customer typically you want to
50:47make more money per customer and the way
50:50to do that is to be selling higher
50:52priced items not doing a one dollar or
50:55five dollar a month membership and plus
50:57at that price point it can be really
50:59difficult to fulfill promises on things
51:01like if you're gonna be giving people
51:02who subscribe free stuff it can become a
51:05lot to manage especially if you get a
51:06lot of members and it can be really hard
51:08managing things like your groups whether
51:10it be on a facebook group or a discord
51:12group it can get to be a lot to manage
51:14method number three is affiliate
51:16marketing now affiliate marketing is
51:18where you put a link to a product or a
51:20service or a digital product in the
51:22description of your youtube videos and
51:24every single person who watches your
51:26video clicks the link and then buys that
51:29product you'll get a commission for
51:31every single sale that you make now the
51:33commissions on different products
51:34obviously differ however if you do
51:36choose to do affiliate marketing i
51:38recommend promoting what are called
51:40digital products now these are products
51:42where there's no overhead to actually
51:44sell the product and some of the best
51:46places you can find digital products to
51:48promote are platforms like
51:51and clickbank.com there's so many
51:53different products that you can promote
51:55and get a commission on every single
51:57sale that you get now another option is
51:59to sign up for the amazon affiliate
52:01program now the bad thing about the
52:03amazon affiliate program is that unless
52:05you're selling really expensive items on
52:07amazon and even those will cost a lot of
52:09money to fulfill typically you'll only
52:11make a little bit of money per sale that
52:14you get on amazon and really in my
52:16experience it hasn't been worth it but
52:18if you were to do the amazon affiliate
52:20program you could promote things like
52:22your camera gear or the equipment that
52:24you're using to film your video you
52:25could always just put the links down in
52:27the description of your youtube videos
52:29so if people go to those links and buy a
52:31camera which is typically a pretty high
52:33priced item you could potentially make
52:34more money per sale now the good thing
52:36about affiliate marketing is that you
52:38don't have to have your own product
52:40having your own product can take a lot
52:42of time to make and if it's a physical
52:44product you have to deal with
52:45fulfillment and orders and refunds and
52:47all that kind of stuff so the great
52:49thing about affiliate marketing is that
52:50you don't even have to have your own
52:52product and on marketplaces like
52:54digistore24 or clickbank it can be
52:57really easy to just sign up to those
52:58marketplaces and promote different
53:02on them now the bad thing about
53:03affiliate marketing is that you're not
53:05actually growing your own customer base
53:07every single person who purchases even
53:09though you are getting a split of the
53:11money and again that split can differ
53:13but every single person who purchases
53:16they're technically a customer for the
53:18person that you're promoting this
53:19product and the good thing about
53:20building a customer base is that if you
53:22ever release more products down the line
53:24you can potentially sell those products
53:26to your current customers because your
53:28current customers are going to be the
53:29people who want to buy future products
53:31that you make the absolute most now if
53:34you were to do affiliate marketing i
53:35recommend what's called a bridge page
53:37this means bridging you with the product
53:40that you're selling so instead of just
53:42linking to the affiliate link directly
53:44in your description instead link to a
53:47bridge page with a video of you on it
53:49and an email capture box that way you
53:52can actually collect the emails from the
53:54potential customers who will buy that
53:56product later on that way at least
53:58you're also building an email list as
54:00well still not as good as having your
54:02own product in some ways however in
54:04other ways it's better because you don't
54:06actually have to create your own product
54:07and that's why i put affiliate marketing
54:09at method number three method number two
54:12is services or consulting so if you
54:15teach things on your youtube channel you
54:17could potentially offer consulting going
54:19more in depth about what you're teaching
54:21and this can be anything from cooking to
54:23how to build a business to how to grow a
54:25youtube channel to how to get better at
54:27video games and if you choose to go the
54:29consulting route you can do so on
54:31platforms like clarity.fm in which
54:33people will pay by the minute to get
54:35consulting services and get on the phone
54:38with you now another variation of this
54:40is selling services and you can do that
54:41by if you edit your videos yourself you
54:44could potentially put a link in the
54:46description of your youtube videos to
54:48you offering editing services or
54:50thumbnail services or whatever it is
54:52that you want to offer and if you do
54:54this you can put your service up on
54:56platforms like fiverr.comupwork.com
54:59and put the links in the description of
55:01your youtube videos and say something
55:03along the lines of if you like the
55:05editing in this video i can actually
55:07edit your video if you want to do
55:08youtube or anything like that just check
55:10out the link in the description now the
55:12good thing about consulting or services
55:14and really the great thing about
55:16consulting is that you can potentially
55:18make a lot of money consulting
55:20especially if you're teaching things
55:22that a lot of people want to know now
55:24the bad thing about consulting is that
55:26you're trading your time for money and
55:28when you trade your time for money you
55:30can make a lot of money short term but
55:32if you ever stop doing that consulting
55:34you won't continue to make money in the
55:36future and that's why i ranked it as
55:38number two on our list but now let's go
55:41to method number one my personal
55:43favorite way to make money on youtube
55:46without ads and before we go to method
55:48number one leave a like on this video
55:50and subscribe to the channel if you feel
55:51like i've gotten you any value so far
55:53now let's get straight into method
55:55number one and method number one
56:00products now i'm sure you've seen
56:02digital products out there these can be
56:03things like courses or ebooks anything
56:06that's digital that you can sell to
56:08people and a huge misconception out
56:10there is that you have to be an absolute
56:11expert in the field that you're teaching
56:13about if you were to for example sell an
56:16online course but really you just need
56:18to be better at whatever you're teaching
56:22than the people that you're selling that
56:23course to and if you were to sell online
56:26courses you can do so very easily on
56:28platforms like kajabi or teachable or
56:31udemy now the good thing about digital
56:33products is that you can potentially
56:34make a lot of money per sale also every
56:37single time that you sell one of your
56:39digital products it doesn't cost you
56:41anything to ship it out to box it for
56:44any of the fulfillment aspects that go
56:46into selling that online course using
56:48automated tools like teachable or kajabi
56:51or automation softwares like zapier you
56:54can automatically fulfill the sales of
56:56your digital products so every single
56:58time someone buys a digital product they
57:01get it automatically without you having
57:03to do any work and because of this
57:05selling online courses and doing digital
57:08products are incredibly scalable now the
57:10bad thing about selling digital products
57:12is that it takes a lot of upfront time
57:15to make for example i have a course and
57:17community called tube mastery and
57:19monetization it's not really a course
57:21but it's more of a coaching community in
57:23which i answer questions that people
57:24have as well if they're in the community
57:27about how i run nine different youtube
57:28channels without ever showing my face
57:31and the first version of that course
57:33took me over three months to put
57:36together now obviously you could make a
57:37digital product or an online course
57:39faster than that but that was just for
57:41the first variation of the course and
57:43then after that a year later now i'm
57:45working on the second version of the
57:47course that's going to be updated and go
57:49way more in depth on exactly how to do

58:19youtube channel that you're running
58:20because i see each youtube channel that
58:22i run as independently operating
58:24businesses so i try to go all in on one
58:27monetization method as much as possible
58:29however you can combine different
58:31monetization methods for example on this
58:34youtube channel make money matt not only
58:36do i sell my digital program but also i
58:39make money through adsense through ads
58:42on the channel so you can potentially
58:43make money through ads and any of the
58:45other monetization methods that i listed
