00:02account as a high schooler to being a
00:04multi-millionaire just a few years later
00:07and just saying these words out of my
00:09mouth honestly sounds fake but it's true
00:11and this is my story now if you guys
00:13don't know me my name is Matt Parr and
00:15I'm a 22 year old and I know that the
00:17title of this video sounds unbelievable
00:19but it's the truth and even though
00:21talking about my story here honestly
00:22makes me a little bit uncomfortable I'm
00:24still gonna share this with you because
00:25I think that it can provide a lot of
00:27value to people out there who want to
00:29level up their lives I literally went
00:31from being depressed not knowing what I
00:33was going to do with my life and
00:34honestly just feeling like giving up on
00:36everything to making millions of dollars
00:38traveling the world in first class
00:40completing bucket list items I've always
00:42wanted to do like dive over a thousand
00:44feet deep in a submarine and now at this
00:45point I literally don't worry about
00:47money at all and on top of that I've
00:49gotten millions of subscribers on
00:50YouTube play buttons Awards and I run an
00:53education company now with over 7 000
00:55students now my story starts in the year
00:572000 that's when I was born to a middle
00:59class family in the midwestern United
01:02States now by no means was my family
01:04rich but we weren't poor either we
01:06weren't in poverty or anything we're a
01:07normal middle class family and my
01:09parents worked hard for both my younger
01:11sister and I to grow up and live a
01:13decent life so at a very young age I was
01:15brought up seeing working hard
01:16associated with getting money so I made
01:19that connection in my brain early on
01:20that the only way to live a decent good
01:22life is to put in a lot of work and
01:24trade time for money I had a great
01:26childhood I was super creative as a kid
01:28like I would always write stories to
01:29entertain my younger sister and stuff
01:31and everything was great until it wasn't
01:33and I realized that this wasn't going to
01:35last forever this is just a temporary
01:37thing and eventually I was going to have
01:38to grow up and get a job just like
01:41everybody else did and I came to this
01:42realization when I was in Middle School
01:44I kind of had like an existential crisis
01:46wondering like what's the meaning of
01:47this whole thing like I saw my parents
01:49they were working nine to five jobs and
01:51they didn't really seem to love them
01:52they were just doing the best that they
01:54could to provide for their family and I
01:55wasn't looking forward to have to go
01:56through that as well now I personally
01:58never really cared for school what
01:59whatsoever as I got older I actually
02:01started to hate it more and more having
02:03to go in and learn about things that I
02:05didn't want to learn about and that I
02:07didn't feel would benefit me in my life
02:09in the future and like I would come home
02:10from school I would take my homework and
02:12I would show to my parents and I would
02:13ask them are you even using this stuff
02:15that I'm learning in your jobs or in
02:17your everyday life and they would tell
02:18me no but you have to go to school get
02:20good grades and then that's going to
02:22translate into being able to go to a
02:23good college which in turn will allow
02:25you to get a job and it's not like I
02:27wanted a job like they had but honestly
02:28I didn't know of any other options that
02:30even existed out there so at the time I
02:32kind of just figured you know I'm gonna
02:34have to go through with this script
02:35that's kind of been laid out for me it's
02:37like someone else wrote the story of my
02:39life somewhat and the story seemed to go
02:41like this I would finish High School go
02:43to college work little by little to pay
02:45off the college debt buy a house with a
02:46mortgage work my whole life to pay that
02:48off as well then hopefully retire when
02:51I'm super old and live the last couple
02:53years of my life enjoying what I did
02:54with most of my time and then die sounds
02:57fun right now the reason I'm telling you
02:58this is kind of to preface everything
03:00that was going on in my life at this
03:01time because I had some major changes
03:03coming up that I had no idea were about
03:05to happen but everything changed for me
03:07when I was in fifth or sixth grade I
03:09believe I realized that I could go to
03:11the dollar store which is basically a
03:12store here in the United States where
03:14you can buy things for a dollar where
03:15everything in it is a dollar so I went
03:17to the Dollar Store and I saw that there
03:19was Pop-Tarts for sale for a dollar like
03:21a whole package of them and I saw at
03:23school they were selling Pop-Tarts at
03:24the school lunch line for a dollar each
03:26so one package of five Pop Tarts if I
03:28sold all five boom I would make four
03:30dollars of profit and so that's exactly
03:32what I did I started selling Pop-Tarts
03:34at school at lunch and over the course
03:35of a couple months I had over three
03:38hundred dollars saved up now this is the
03:40first money that I ever made in my life
03:41and I thought it was awesome I could
03:43literally go to the store and buy
03:44something if I wanted to I felt like I
03:46had everything figured out in my life
03:47until of course some of the teachers at
03:49my school shut it down and I went
03:51straight back to not knowing what I was
03:52going to do now around that time also my
03:54sister and I found out about a website
03:56called youtube.com now at the time we
03:59just assumed YouTube and we would watch
04:01videos like prank videos scary stories
04:03and stunt videos and while watching
04:05those videos I saw people living their
04:07dream lives being able to travel
04:09full-time if they wanted to do literally
04:11whatever they wanted with their lives
04:13and I thought that looks so cool so at
04:15this point this kind of infected my mind
04:16that this was possible success was
04:18possible so at 12 years old I started my
04:21first YouTube channel and I started
04:22uploading just like backyard pranks
04:24stunts just stuff that I was doing with
04:26my friends I would upload it to YouTube
04:27and you know I'd be lucky if a video got
04:2950 or 100 views and at that time I kind
04:31of just figured that you know maybe
04:33those people I was watching on YouTube
04:34maybe they were destined to be
04:36successful and maybe it just wasn't in
04:38the cards for me so I didn't really
04:39think much of it I thought it might just
04:41be some fun thing to do now fast forward
04:43a little bit by the time I was 14 years
04:44old in 2014 at this point I absolutely
04:48hated school with a passion I dreaded
04:51hearing the alarm clock go off every
04:52single day super early and we lived way
04:54out in the country so we had to ride the
04:56bus for like an hour just to get to
04:58school and then in school I'm sitting
04:59for hours in a classroom learning about
05:01subjects I literally have no interest in
05:03and at that point I kind of just zoned
05:05out in my life and I don't know if you
05:07guys have ever felt like this but I kind
05:09of became apathetic about everything and
05:10I didn't really care about anything too
05:12much and I guess you could say I was
05:14depressed at this time as well and this
05:16affected my friendships at school
05:17because honestly I was just kind of
05:19zoned out during this time and not
05:20paying attention to anything just kind
05:22of like well this is my life this is the
05:24cards I've been dealt I guess I have to
05:26go through with it and I kind of felt
05:27like I had no free will my whole life
05:29was written for me and because of that I
05:31kind of took my resentment out on the
05:33people that I cared about so this time
05:34there was a lot of family conflict as
05:36well I stopped caring about school so I
05:37didn't really get good grades my parents
05:39weren't happy about that they just
05:40wanted what was best for me and they
05:42believed that you know getting good
05:43grades going to college would do that
05:44and it was at this point that I knew
05:46that time was running out as well in
05:48just a couple years I was going to be
05:49graduating high school and of course
05:50that meant going to college and
05:52potentially working a job now it's at
05:53this point that I would spend some time
05:55watching YouTube and this is when my
05:57life completely changed I came across a
06:00YouTube channel called pop fives and
06:02whoever is out there running this
06:04channel probably has no idea that this
06:06was such a pivotal moment in my life but
06:07when I came across this YouTube channel
06:09I saw that the person who was running
06:10that channel was literally just creating
06:12faceless videos talking about different
06:14cool subjects scary videos and stuff
06:16like that and they would just upload it
06:18to YouTube and they did that
06:19consistently and they got millions of
06:21views on their videos now at this point
06:23I didn't even know how you could make
06:24money on YouTube I didn't know how any
06:26of that worked but I saw them succeeding
06:28on YouTube right and I thought to myself
06:30if they can do it why can't I you know I
06:32got nothing to lose at this point I'm
06:33just gonna try it so I took this really
06:36crappy iPhone that I had at the time the
06:37screen was all cracked and I used the
06:39voice recorder started recording
06:41voiceovers started editing the videos
06:43together on my laptop that barely worked
06:45and literally within one day of finding
06:47out about that channel I started my very
06:49own YouTube channel and even though I
06:50had no idea where this would lead me in
06:52the future I took a chance so for a few
06:55months I uploaded videos on my Channel
06:56with absolutely no results I was just
06:58kind of trying to model what already
06:59worked on YouTube Just creating similar
07:01stuff nothing really seemed to be
07:03working at that point it was just
07:04another day just like every other day
07:06I'd wake up dread going to school and I
07:08checked my YouTube analytics and I saw
07:10that one of my videos got a hundred
07:12thousand views and at this point I was
07:15ecstatic I couldn't contain myself this
07:18was one of the first successes that I
07:20ever had in my life and I don't know if
07:21you guys have ever felt like this where
07:23where you want so badly for something to
07:25work and then it does and remember that
07:27day showing all my friends on the school
07:28bus so my video got a hundred thousand
07:30views just bragging about it and at this
07:32point there was nothing that was going
07:33to stop me I doubled down on YouTube I
07:36started uploading videos every single
07:38day on my channel literally spending
07:40every bit of free time that I could on
07:41this even time that wasn't supposed to
07:43be free I was supposed to be working on
07:44homework I basically put school on the
07:46back burner at this point and just
07:47focused fully on YouTube as much as I
07:49possibly could and I kind of treated
07:51YouTube as a video game so I started
07:53taking notes like what worked what
07:54didn't like oh this type of title works
07:56for this scenario these types of
07:57thumbnails seem to do really well and I
07:59still wasn't making any money at this
08:00point until I read this article online
08:02about some of the top YouTubers making
08:04millions of dollars per year and some of
08:06these people were like my age or even
08:08younger than me and they were making
08:09millions of dollars from YouTube so I
08:11looked into this a little bit and I
08:13found that the main way of making money
08:14on YouTube is something called the
08:16YouTube Partner program and this is
08:18where you sign up for it and they will
08:19pay you a percentage of the ad Revenue
08:22that they get from people putting ads on
08:24your videos so I thought that was pretty
08:25cool I signed up for it as soon as I
08:27possibly could and at this point it's
08:28like early 2015 and just like that
08:31flipping a light switch I was making
08:33three thousand dollars per month this
08:35was more than all my friends this was
08:37life-changing money at that age and of
08:39course I didn't have any expenses either
08:40so I was basically rich now my parents
08:43and teachers at that point they thought
08:44that was cool they were happy for me but
08:46they were concerned as well rightfully
08:47so how long is this going to last
08:49they've never seen something like this
08:50before now going forward to 2016 I was
08:52just working on my YouTube channel
08:54Non-Stop and as if things couldn't get
08:56any better I had my first video get over
08:58a million of views like that that's a
09:00proper viral video if you guys are into
09:01YouTube and I was honestly just so happy
09:03about that and at this point it's very
09:05strange to say but I was making more
09:07money than my parents but things were
09:09not as good as they seemed in fact I had
09:11to spend every waking minute of my life
09:13basically focused on YouTube to get
09:15these kind of results and I basically
09:17had no social life whatsoever I didn't
09:19have any time to spend with friends I
09:20didn't have any time to play Xbox or
09:22video games or anything like literally
09:23all my time was consumed in this and
09:26there was still a lot of family conflict
09:27because I wasn't focusing on school like
09:28my parents wanted me to teachers at my
09:30school weren't happy I had to balance
09:32YouTube and just doing like the bare
09:33minimum not to fail my classes so I knew
09:35this wasn't really sustainable and even
09:37if I became an adult I would literally
09:38not have any life outside of doing this
09:40and I knew that wasn't a life that I
09:42wanted to live so at this point the this
09:44kind of humiliating to say but the only
09:45thing I knew about business at this
09:46point was from a Dr Seuss book called
09:49The Lorax I don't know if you're
09:50familiar with it but basically in that
09:52book there's a guy who figures out how
09:54to make money selling this thing and and
09:56the only way that he scaled it was
09:57hiring other people to do the work for
09:59for him that's kind of a bad example
10:00he's like the villain of the story and
10:02stuff but you get my point and that was
10:03the only thing I knew about business so
10:05I made a job post on a website called
10:07upwork.com looking for someone to do the
10:10voiceovers because that was one of the
10:11parts I hated about this the most I
10:12didn't like the way my voice sounded or
10:14anything so and so I found this guy to
10:16replace me and do the voiceovers for me
10:17and this was an absolute game changer
10:19for me because I essentially put
10:21together a video creation machine where
10:23I would just come up with the video
10:24ideas and then I would pass that along
10:25to a script writer who would write this
10:27script and then they would give it to
10:28the voiceover artist who would then give
10:30it to the video editor who would then
10:31finally send it back to me and I would
10:33then upload the video and I also hired a
10:35thumbnail designer as well and this
10:36freed up a ton of time for me but I was
10:38so accustomed to working on YouTube and
10:40stuff at this point that I started
10:41making more channels and different
10:43niches and Outsourcing those from the
10:44start and in 2017 I reached what was at
10:47the point my all-time goal with YouTube
10:49which was getting over a hundred
10:51thousand subscribers and in turn they
10:52give you what's known as a silver play
10:54button basically an award for reaching
10:56that Milestone so I got the silver play
10:57button honestly I'm just on top for the
10:59world at this point this like meant
11:01absolutely everything to me and it was
11:03around this point as well where I bought
11:04my dream car which was a blue Ford
11:06Mustang and going forward now into 2018
11:08this is when I graduated high school and
11:11I remember before then I was literally
11:12just counting down the days like when is
11:14this nightmare going to be over and at
11:16this point I was making thirty thousand
11:17dollars a month from ad revenue from my
11:19different YouTube channels honestly
11:21crazy to say and a lot of people close
11:23to me including family members kids at
11:25my school and stuff they were asking me
11:27how they could do YouTube as well how
11:29could they do what I was doing because I
11:30saw I was getting some success at this
11:31point they wanted to learn as well so I
11:33looked into it a little bit and I saw
11:34people you know selling courses online
11:36teaching other people how to do this so
11:38I thought you know I'm gonna give it a
11:40shot at this point I was still really
11:41awkward scared to get in front of a
11:43camera you know I would never in my
11:45wildest dreams think that I'd be able to
11:47sit in front of a camera and record a
11:48video just like this but in October of
11:502018 I started my YouTube channel called
11:53make money Matt actually the same one
11:54you're watching right now but about a
11:56week before making the channel I spent
11:58about a week putting together other a
12:00very rudimentary version of my YouTube
12:02strategy and my YouTube program and to
12:05give you an idea of how low-tech this
12:06was is literally just a screen recording
12:08with a slideshow and me just showing how
12:10to grow on YouTube and that's literally
12:12all it was it took me a week to put
12:13together so by the time I uploaded my
12:15first video make money mad I did have a
12:17YouTube program and at the time I didn't
12:19know how much to charge for it or even
12:20where to start doing this so I just
12:22priced it at 100 and hope for the best
12:24now over the next few weeks after I
12:25launched my channel since I was actually
12:27the one making the videos it's kind of
12:28embarrassing to say but I only uploaded
12:30five videos on the channel and in all
12:32honesty the videos were terrible like
12:34you guys can go back and watch my first
12:35videos they're just screen recordings I
12:37didn't honestly expect much and make
12:38money Matt was just kind of an
12:40experiment I was doing too just to see
12:42if it was even something that I wanted
12:43to do in the first place and I remember
12:44very clearly one day I'm driving around
12:47in my car and I get a notification on my
12:49phone and I check my phone and I see
12:51that I just sold one of my courses for a
12:53hundred dollars and at this point I only
12:55have five videos on my channel I sold a
12:57course for a hundred dollars and a light
12:58bulb went off on my mind and I was like
13:00holy crap I just added a hundred dollars
13:02to my daily income just with one course
13:04five videos that barely got any views
13:07imagine if I got a hundred thousand
13:09views per month on this channel or half
13:10a million or a million views per month I
13:12knew that not only could I change a ton
13:13of people's lives and show them my
13:15YouTube strategy but make a ton of money
13:17in the process as well now at this point
13:18I was already making a lot of money with
13:20my other YouTube channels but the fact
13:22that my channel only had a couple videos
13:25on it and made this much I kind of
13:27projected out in the future what might
13:28be possible with this and over the next
13:30few months after uploading a bunch of
13:32videos I had one kind of take off get
13:33like 100k views and make money Matt got
13:35to the point of making over a thousand
13:37dollars a day with selling my courses
13:39and I made over twenty seven thousand
13:41dollars in a single month just a couple
13:43months after starting the channel in
13:45early 2019. so I was making just as much
13:48as my Niche Channels with just one
13:50channel now around that time in 2019 I
13:52realized there was a time for a change
13:54and even though this was really
13:56difficult for me I moved out of my
13:58parents house and I packed up my car and
14:01I drove all the way to California
14:03because I saw so many YouTubers living
14:05there and stuff I knew that's where a
14:06lot of the technology was being created
14:07as well so I moved to California and
14:09that's where I actually met my
14:10girlfriend as well and I took a break
14:12from make money mad for a while because
14:13at the time and there's so many things
14:15changing in my life you know finding a
14:16place to live being an independent adult
14:18for the first time in my life I was also
14:21creating companies for my businesses
14:22Consulting lawyers and accountants and
14:24figuring out basically how to live as an
14:26adult and eventually I did get over my
14:28fear of getting in front of a camera and
14:30I'll tell you the secret to that I
14:31basically just recorded 100 videos which
14:33I never uploaded to YouTube until I was
14:35good enough to uh to just be able to
14:37talk to a camera like this and I decided
14:39to scrap the original version of my
14:41YouTube course I didn't think it was
14:42good enough and instead I was going to
14:44create a new course that literally went
14:46over everything step by step in a very
14:48chronological manner so in order to do
14:50this I actually did something very
14:52strange I sold my course before ever
14:55creating it and I might be asking Matt
14:57how in the world did you do that the way
14:58that I did that was I did a webinar on
15:01my YouTube channel selling my course
15:03telling them that I was going to teach
15:04it to them live if they bought it I'll
15:06just basically teach you everything I
15:07know live plus will get live Consulting
15:09for me on that call and we did that and
15:11I made over ten thousand dollars in a
15:13single day on that webinar and this is
15:15the first time I ever made that much
15:16money in just a single day then over the
15:19next couple weeks I'd deliver the
15:20program created a private Facebook group
15:21for it over the next couple months I
15:23spent time building out the absolute
15:25best YouTube program on the market all
15:27the while my YouTube channel was growing
15:29as well and I was starting to buy shout
15:30outs on my Instagram page at make money
15:32Matt also and then selling the course in
15:34the DMS and I was like that was great
15:36with that webinar but I can't be doing a
15:38webinar every single day so I automated
15:39the webinar meaning it could sell at all
15:41hours of the day no matter what even
15:43when I was sleeping and it could still
15:45get sales and now that brings us to the
15:46year 2020 which was an absolutely
15:49explosive year in terms of just my
15:52business personal growth so many things
15:54and at the start of 2020 my course was
15:56making about two thousand dollars per
15:58day and my face was Niche channels we're
16:00making about a thousand dollars a day
16:02and this rapidly scaled up over the
16:03course of the next few months since I
16:05just kept putting out more and more
16:06videos I bought more shout outs on
16:07Instagram sort of buying ads on YouTube
16:09as well to promote my course and it got
16:11to the point where in March of 2020 I'll
16:14never forget this was the first month
16:15that I made over a hundred thousand
16:17dollars in a single month and this is a
16:19huge turning point in my life because
16:20ever since that month I've never made
16:22less than that per month and then going
16:24forward into July of 2020 we actually
16:27moved to Florida because I really like
16:29beaches there's summer all year and no
16:31income taxes and I'm starting to make a
16:32lot of money at this point and my
16:34YouTube course crossed over a million
16:36dollars in revenue and going forward
16:37into August of 2020 my course crossed
16:40over a million dollars in Revenue
16:42literally one day before I turned 20
16:45years old so I could say that I was a
16:46millionaire as a teenager for a day and
16:49in 2020 we did way over a million
16:51dollars with my course so I also got the
16:52two comma Club award from click funnels
16:54that they give you when you make over a
16:56million dollars using their platform
16:57right here now going forward into 2021
16:59everything was going great but there was
17:01still a really big problem in my life
17:03you see I was still really afraid to
17:06spend money even though I was making a
17:07lot of money at this point I was in the
17:080.001 for my age I was still deathly
17:11afraid to spend it so I'm like renting a
17:13house that's like less than one percent
17:15of my monthly income still doing all my
17:17grocery shopping and everything and then
17:18I read a book that completely changed my
17:20whole mindset on all this stuff and it's
17:22called die with zero and basically the
17:25premise of that book was that you're not
17:26going to be taking your money with you
17:28when you die and if you make enough
17:29money to still be able to retire and
17:31everything it might be worth it to spend
17:33on some experiences to still live a good
17:35life so this changed my whole
17:36perspective on things and in 2021 I
17:38completed a lifelong dream of diving off
17:40the coast of California in a submarine
17:43into over a thousand feet deep and that
17:44did cost eighteen thousand dollars and I
17:46believe that I would not have done that
17:47if I didn't read that book but when I
17:49got back home from that I just went
17:50right back to work and now in 2022
17:52literally just last year I started again
17:54getting really bored with life you see
17:57my life was kind of just one big routine
17:58teen doing the same thing over and over
18:00every single day I don't know if you've
18:02ever felt like that before I was just
18:04staring at a computer screen for like
18:05nine or ten hours a day it wasn't
18:06healthy so I decided to make a change in
18:08my routine and we traveled to Europe for
18:10the first time in my entire life and we
18:12flew business class which is really cool
18:13and this completely blew my mind that
18:15there's a whole world out there just
18:16waiting to be explored so I desperately
18:18then wanted to travel more that being
18:20said and in 2022 I also bought my dream
18:23home which I'm sitting in right now but
18:25even though I bought my dream home I
18:26haven't spent as much time here as I'd
18:28like to because I've just been trying to
18:29travel so much so this brings me now to
18:312023 and so far this year I've gone to
18:33over 20 countries I run over a dozen
18:36different YouTube channels I've gotten
18:37millions of subscribers between all my
18:39channels we have over 7 000 students in
18:41my Facebook group and we have a Trello
18:43Board of literally hundreds if not
18:44thousands of results from students who
18:46built their own YouTube businesses and
18:48in some cases Empires I was literally
18:49just talking to someone the other day
18:51who's in my Facebook group making over
18:52thirty thousand dollars per month by
18:54implementing my program and that's
18:55literally as much as I make with my
18:57faceless channel so I was telling them
18:58I've taught you literally really
18:59everything you need to know and now some
19:00of my students are even surpassing me
19:02I'm also in good terms with my parents
19:03again which I'm so happy about and
19:05overall I'm just really happy with life
19:07and even though there's a lot of dark
19:08times in my life nobody's life is
19:10perfect even if it looks that way from
19:12the outside I've had a much easier life
19:14than most people and I don't want this
19:15video to come across the wrong way
19:16obviously it is subjective so people
19:18have even had easier lives than me they
19:20still go through a lot of hardships and
19:21suffering and I totally understand that
19:23and your journey out there whoever's out
19:25there watching this video is going to
19:26look different than mine but the reason
19:28I'm making this video is to show you
19:29that if I can have success I literally
19:31almost gave up so many times throughout
19:33this journey than you can too and I know
19:35I'm super young but hopefully this can
19:36inspire people at any age that anything
19:38is possible you can make your dreams
19:40come true if you put in the work and if
19:41you believe in yourself at any age now
