00:39week that I've been here so far in
00:40London and I asked a bunch of you on
00:44Instagram and on YouTube for some
00:46location recommendations of where I
00:48should shoot while I'm here and I got a
00:51ton of responses so thank you all for
00:55sharing those with me as I was looking
00:56through those recommendations I noticed
00:59two names or two locations that a lot of
01:03you kept suggesting to me and that was
01:05Barbican and Brick Lane obviously I have
01:08no idea what any of that means because
01:10it's my first time in London so I did a
01:13quick Google search pull it up in my map
01:15and it seems like the two are relatively
01:17close to each other so I think those
01:19will be two areas that I will explore
04:24okay so I'm in a little different
04:27accommodation now this is the second
04:29half of my trip so you know having
04:31booked another two weeks meant I needed
04:34a new place so I'm filming this at the
04:36start of the second half of my trip here
04:39in London I'm really behind on filming
04:42and just making videos but I promise you
04:46it's gonna be more than two videos from
04:48this trip also I think the lighting is
04:50probably weird from this angle
04:58I was right near Regent Park funny
05:00enough I'm actually not too far from my
05:03last place but in this part of the video
05:04I want to talk about the xe4 versus
05:06x100v comparison because I get asked
05:10that question all the time it's probably
05:12my most asked question on this channel
05:15so if you were following my Lisbon trip
05:17you would know that I brought the gr3x
05:19with me and that served me really well
05:23on that trip and I'll be honest
05:26kind of missing it on this trip a little
05:30bit I think it just really suits
05:33shooting in a really busy City and
05:36London is really busy so I think that
05:38camera would have done really well on
05:40this trip but I wanted to switch things
05:42up and bring the x100v with me because
05:45London's you know known to be really
05:47rainy so x100v is weather sealed so I
05:49wanted to bring it with me and just show
05:52that camera a bit more love because I
05:53haven't really shot with it in a long
05:55time funny enough I've actually haven't
05:57really been using it as much as I
05:59thought I would despite bringing it with
06:02me on this trip I keep gravitating
06:04towards the xc4 so this brings us to the
06:07topic of xa4 versus x100v obviously this
06:11can be a pretty subjective topic because
06:14you don't know which one of these
06:16cameras will really work with you
06:18um until you get your hands on one of
06:21them and use it obviously not everyone's
06:23gonna have the ability to do that so
06:26I'm hoping this video can help uh
06:28provide a bit more insight into my
06:30experience using both of these cameras I
06:33think the main thing that it comes down
06:34to is whether or not you want to have
06:38the versatility of switching different
06:40lenses or different focal lengths and if
06:43that's the case then this is going to be
06:44a pretty easy comparison to make because
06:47the x100v can't take other focal lengths
06:50yes it has tele conversion and a wide
06:53conversion lens but that's just not the
06:56same as using native Fujifilm glass so
06:58if you're wanting to switch your lenses
07:00and use different focal lengths this
07:02probably wouldn't be the right camera
07:04comparison to make you probably want to
07:06compare the xc4 with X Pro 3 and the xt4
07:10because those can take other lenses the
07:14x100v has a built-in 35 millimeter focal
07:18length and this is a camera that's well
07:21suited for someone who obviously likes
07:24shooting 35 millimeter
07:27um and just wants Simplicity in a camera
07:29you know having one lens on a camera it
07:32might seem like a limitation but for a
07:35lot of people who pick up fixed lens
07:36cameras it's more of a freedom because
07:38you don't have to constantly think about
07:41what lens you want to use on your camera
07:43you just pick this camera up and you
07:45head out the door and you know what to
07:47expect and that's a really nice thing to
07:49have in a camera especially if it's
07:51gonna be your everyday camera
07:54before I continue a quick word from

09:01camera like that with a fixed lens that
09:04you're never going to change you can
09:05still make a similar setup on the xe4
09:07you just get one lens and you don't own
09:10any other lenses you just have that one
09:12lens on the camera all the time sort of
09:14the case with my xe4 right now it's
09:17practically always attached with a 35
09:19millimeter F2 and full frame equivalent
09:22terms this would be a 56 millimeter so
09:24don't be confused with this being
09:26similar to the focal length of the x100v
09:29if you wanted to set up the xe4 to have
09:32a 35 millimeter equivalent lens like the
09:35x100v you could pick up an XF 23
09:40so this will give you the same focal
09:42length as the x100v obviously it's not
09:45as compact of a camera setup if you do
09:48want a more compact setup similar to the
09:51x100v on an xe4 you could opt for the XF
09:5428 millimeter and that would give you a
09:5640 millimeter equivalent lens both of
09:59these lens options I just mentioned have
10:01weather sealing but the xc4 does not
10:04have weather sealing I've used it in
10:07light showers and it's been okay you
10:10know obviously I'm not shooting in a
10:12torrential downpour oh man I don't think
10:14most people are either but the x100v
10:17does have full weather ceiling if you
10:19attach a filter that's peace in mind
10:23that you get from the x100v that you
10:26just don't get with the xc4
10:32I think most people wondering about this
10:35camera comparison are just looking for
10:37an everyday camera for street
10:39photography or just daily documentation
10:42of their life both of these cameras are
10:44going to be really good for that
10:46honestly comes down to Quality life
10:49features that the x100v has that the xc4
10:53doesn't out of the box xe4 doesn't have
10:55any ergonomics unless you attach a grip
10:58to it like I usually do again the x100v
11:01has full weather ceiling so you have
11:03that peace of mind the xc4 does not and
11:05the x100v just has an overall much
11:08higher quality build just to the
11:11materials the finish the dials have a
11:15lot more they're sturdier so you can't
11:17accidentally turn a dial another really
11:20minor gripe about the xc4 is the loop
11:23for the straps I've talked about this in
11:28they're not the same kind of straps
11:30you're typically used to seeing on
11:32cameras you know like the one that's on
11:34the x100v I can't attach my favorite
11:37camera straps to the xe4 without
11:40completely destroying the side of the
11:43camera I've gotten to the point where I
11:46just don't even care anymore other than
11:48these little differences obviously the
11:50x100v has an optical or hybrid ovf evf
11:56um the xe4 is just a electronic
11:58viewfinder and the price is much cheaper
12:00on the xe4 compared to the x100v so
12:03obviously that's going to be a really
12:05big factor at the end of the day cameras
12:07are cameras and they're both Fujifilm
12:09cameras so they're going to be creating
12:12a very similar looking image and when it
12:16comes to finding a camera that works for
12:18you there's no shame in trying to go
12:20through that process to find the camera
12:22that works for you so with that said I
