00:00hello and welcome in today's episode I'm
00:02going to talk about what the actual cost
00:04is of a small house foundation a
00:07concrete foundation that's going to be
00:09slab on grade if you're new to the
00:11channel we're going to be building a
00:13two-bedroom two-bath house that you see
00:15right here and that is a 720 square feet
00:19so this foundation that we're building
00:21is 24 by 30 and it is going to be about
00:27six dollars and fifty cents a square
00:29foot which was four thousand six hundred
00:33eighty dollars and if you're new to the
00:35channel you know this is what I usually
00:37do I like to cover all the pricing to
00:41show people how much it actually costs
00:43to build a small house affordable house
00:45maybe a retirement house or a first-time
00:47homebuyer kind of a house or maybe
00:50you're downsizing so this is what you're
00:52going to be looking at so this project
00:55took about twelve yards of concrete the
00:59concrete has been going up like
01:01everything else I guess and right now
01:04concrete is $150 a yard and that was
01:09twelve yards of it so the price for
01:12concrete alone was eighteen hundred
01:14bucks to kind of give the idea how much
01:16this stuff is and then if you watch the
01:19previous episode if you didn't I would
01:21recommend you do because you can see how
01:23the plumbing was done and how much that
01:25plumbing job actually cost but in the
01:28previous episode you can also see that
01:30the rebar was put in and chairs and then
01:33the gravel and two by eights that the
01:36foundation was formed with that you can
01:38see right here in the perimeter and
01:40there was some plastic put down that's
01:42the black stuff that you see right here
01:44that's what the guys are working on that
01:46prevents the moisture from coming into
01:48the house so your foundation and your
01:51floor is nice and dry so you can see
01:54that in a previous episode so four
01:56thousand six hundred eighty bucks that's
01:59how much this is so this is a slab on
02:02great foundation just a simple
02:04foundation nothing fancy this is built
02:06in the south so there's not ready
02:10like tiny little footers in the south
02:13around where I live we don't have to do
02:15footers because we really don't have any
02:17kind of a winter of frost to worry about
02:20so this is basically what as we're going
02:24forward this is what you're going to see
02:26this house is going to be built from the
02:29ground up and all the major expenses are
02:33that's usually what I do on this channel
02:35I just want to show people what it
02:37actually takes and how much it actually
02:39takes to build a house because a lot of
02:41times you really won't see the specific
02:44under my new shadow the small little
02:47details but I think it's important to
02:50show people how much this stuff really
02:51cost and this house I'm going try to do
02:54under $100,000 and that includes land so
02:59when we get to the last episode which
03:01I'm looking for ahead
03:02I'll show you basically how much this
03:05whole project how much this whole thing
03:07cost to build from start at the
03:09beginning and if you're curious of
03:11anything that came before this like I
03:13said check out the previous video I have
03:15the plumber price and I have done the
03:18land price I even showed the image of
03:20the closing statements you can have an
03:22idea how much the Commission's local
03:24land purchase and all that good stuff
03:27and then I also have the design of this
03:30house if you're curious what this is
03:32going to be how this two-bedroom and
03:33two-bathroom house is going to look so
03:37take a look at that let me take a look

03:44foundation size I covered 720 square

03:53foot 12 yards rebar blah blah blah rough
03:58plumbing is in a previous video the job
04:01here that you're seeing and it took the
04:03guys the actual pour about an hour so
04:06the toughest part about this is
04:08basically what you're seeing right now
04:09and that took about an hour of two
04:12concrete trucks that came in and out of
04:14the property so one hour of work and
04:18then the rest of the day pretty much
04:20it's just waiting and sitting and
04:24babysitting the foundation to make sure
04:26no animals or no people walk on it or
04:29anything and that's basically what this
04:32job consists of so the first hour is
04:35pretty much hard work and everything
04:37else is kind of just relaxing and
04:41watching the as they say the grass grow
04:44or paint dries or the foundation to cure
04:47and then you're gonna see later in the
04:49video you're also going to see how this
04:52is polished you can see the expansion
04:55joints and you're also going to see the
04:58finished product towards the end of the
05:00video so that's pretty much it if you
