00:02challenged all of you to kill melania as
00:04fast as you could from a brand new
00:06character glitchless
00:20the rules of this challenge were simple
00:22no mods of any kind that affect gameplay
00:24no major glitches or bugs and you must
00:26attempt the challenge on a brand new
00:27character in addition to defeating
00:29melania you must also obtain michela's
00:31needle and this requires completing
00:33milliseconds questline the challenge
00:34only ends when the needle enters your
00:36inventory and whoever can do so the
00:38fastest will win a thousand dollars this
00:40speed run was extremely difficult in
00:43spite of this some of you still rose to
00:45the occasion and the two runs i've
00:47chosen to highlight in this video were
00:48just seconds apart with many tense
00:50moments in between them before we begin
00:52i'll be giving away sixty dollars
00:54randomly to five of you who like the

01:57micho and spicy start their runs off as
01:58a samurai which is without a doubt the
02:00best class in the game for speed running
02:02and they're going to choose shabiri's
02:03woe as their starting gift if you're
02:05unfamiliar with this item whenever it's
02:06equipped it constantly attracts the
02:08attention of enemies which might seem
02:10counterintuitive initially but there are
02:11some really cool things you can do with
02:13this item so we'll have to see what they
02:14have planned both runners immediately
02:16kill themselves to speed up the tutorial
02:18boss and then they make their way over
02:19to stormgate to pick up tauren from
02:21there their paths diverge a bit mitchu's
02:23gonna head east where he picks up a
02:24golden seed some smithing stones and a
02:26crystal tear but most notably he also
02:28grabs trina's lily which is a very rare
02:31material used mainly for crafting one
02:33thing and this cookbook is gonna let him
02:35make it we'll see what that item is
02:36later in the run continuing in that
02:38direction brings him to the third church
02:39of america where he picks up a sacred
02:41tier and hidden in the bushes nearby is
02:43a waypoint to graham's dragon barrel
02:45michael collects another golden seed
02:47before arriving at this bridge and
02:49that's where he has the most intense
02:51fight of his entire run
02:58that was easier than expected that
03:00little detour rewards him with 42 000
03:02souls and bloodhound step which will
03:04make his run significantly safer at the
03:06cost of a few minutes spicy on the other
03:09hand did not invest any time into
03:11getting bloodhound step and instead he
03:13heads west toward this waypoint in the
03:15futurified ruins and this is going to
03:16take him to the entrance of the academy
03:18he doesn't have the key up though so
03:19after activating this craze he jumps off
03:21the bridge and then steals it from
03:23behind the sleeping dragon when he
03:24returns to storm hill both runners pick
03:26up a stone sword key so they can open up
03:28an important door later on and once
03:30spicy grabs a smithing stone from this
03:31bridge he's gonna buy another one from
03:33this merchant while he's here he also
03:35picks up a cracked pot and a short sword
03:37too just like michoud spicy also obtains
03:39the cookbook and once he arrives at the
03:41third church he's gonna add the wondrous
03:42physic to his inventory as well
03:44exploring miss wood rewards both runners
03:46with a spiked crystal tier and also an
03:48axe talisman which will increase all
03:49charged attack damage by 15 and 20
03:52respectively both runners head back to
03:54the church of ella to purchase the
03:55crafting kit from this merchant and
03:57after buying some more cracked pots they
03:59warp back to the third church due east
04:00until they arrive in caled
04:02there both runners kill this humble
04:04invisible beetle which happens to be
04:06holding one of the most powerful and
04:08versatile ashes of war in the entire
04:10game for pve at least flame of the red
04:13mains this ash of war does an immense
04:15amount of stance damage for how quick it
04:17is and the fp cost is trivial not too
04:20far from there is fort gale and right
04:22beside it is an incantation which is
04:24also way too good to pass up called
04:26flame grammy strength
04:28this one increases all physical damage
04:30by twenty percent and it also stacks
04:32with the bonuses they'll be getting from
04:33the spiked crystal tier and the axe
04:35talisman too as luck would have it caleb
04:37is actually full of useful items and at
04:39the top of this cliff our speed runners
04:41loot a smithing stone 8 from the scarab
04:43beetle and at the bottom of it they find
04:44an even better one after looting this
04:46area for a few more things both runners
04:48head over to the round table hold so
04:50that they can level up and attune their
04:51new ashes of war now that they have the
04:53majority of what they need to make the
04:54fights easier each runner goes to the
04:56bottom of the academy where the iron
04:58version transports them to volcano manor
05:00once they're there they collect sombra's
05:02smithing stones 6 and 5 and these are
05:04going to be helpful for upgrading their
05:06weapon of choice to plus 10 later on
05:08before they can get that weapon though
05:09they have to take on the godskin noble
05:12and this boss is really dangerous
05:13because despite his size he's actually
05:15surprisingly fast and the rolling attack
05:17he does when he gets low on hp can be
05:19hard to dodge that didn't stop these
05:21guys at all though and this is where
05:22we're gonna see the first application of
05:24those lilies they picked up earlier
05:26because combining them with a mushroom
05:28and cracked pot results in a sleep pot
05:30which this boss is highly vulnerable to
05:32just one is all it'll take to put him to
05:34sleep while he's out you can get off a
05:36strong attack and exactly 5 r1s before
05:38bleed procs and just one more strong
05:41attack is all it takes to break his
05:49after landing a critical hit spicy
05:50spicy's gonna throw another sleep pot
05:52and that's when the psycho repeats
05:54itself all over again michi's fight is
05:56going just as well too he's expertly
05:58dodging thrust from the godskin noble
06:00and throwing sleep pots whenever he can
06:02right up until this happens
06:08that was a close one by this point
06:09mitchu is trailing behind spicy by a
06:12little over a minute largely due to that
06:14detour he took to get bloodhound step
06:16but he's not out of the race yet they
06:18climb this hellish waterfall on their
06:19way deeper into the volcano stopping
06:21only to send this elevator down so they
06:23can access it later on heading down this
06:25hallway eventually brings them to this
06:27staircase and if you go up to the second
06:29floor you'll find a fog wall which can
06:31be opened using the stone sword key they
06:32grabbed earlier jumping down these cages
06:35leads to an iron virgin who's guarding
06:36the final requirement for a plus nine
06:38weapon the sombra smithing stone seven
06:41quitting out and warping back to the
06:42godskin nobles room allows them to take
06:44the elevator they sent down earlier to
06:46easily access this hallway again and
06:48this time if you keep going straight
06:50you'll come across this waypoint which
06:51warps you to riker rather than kill them
06:53though they're just going to steal this
06:55weapon instead and this thing is great
06:57because it has some of the highest base
06:59physical damage in the game with zero
07:01stat requirements which makes it a
07:03no-brainer for speed runs where
07:04investing time and leveling up just
07:06isn't ideal after warping back to the
07:08academy they head over to this waypoint
07:10nearby which drops him off at the
07:12blacksmith eg and now that they have a
07:14plus nine weapon on their hands we
07:16finally can start this run
07:19to progress millicent's quest they must
07:21challenge commander o'neal back in caled
07:23because he's the one who drops the
07:24unalloyed gold needle necessary to start
07:26the quest they're gonna start the fight
07:28off dishonorably by sneaking in a few
07:30hits while he isn't looking and then run
07:31back to avoid the wind attack he usually
07:44this point you can clearly see the
07:45impact of that plus knight serpent
07:47hunter because all it takes is like
07:48seven hits to finish him off and once
07:51they finally do they're rewarded with
07:52the commander standard and this weapon
07:54has a useful skill which temporarily
07:56increases damage dealt by 20
07:58this will offer them a much needed
08:00helping hand against future enemies
08:02since this buff also stacks with the
08:04previous ones speaking of helping hands
08:06once they return the needle to gallery
08:07they're instructed to deliver it to
08:09melisan who isn't looking too well in
08:10fact she's actually missing an entire
08:12arm and the prosthetic necessary to
08:14progress her quest can only be found up
08:16north in the atlas plateau before they
08:18can get there though there's a couple of
08:20things they have to do first about
08:21halfway through militant's questline she
08:23moves over to the mountaintop of the
08:24giants and getting there requires access
08:26to the grand lift of world which of
08:28course can't be used without defeating
08:30morgot who can't be challenged without
08:32getting at least two great runes spicy
08:34and michoud both tackle this problem in
08:36the same way but in a slightly different
08:38order michoud starts off in stormville
08:40castle where the plus 9 serpent hunter
08:41spear completely trivializes one of the
08:43game's most iconic bosses and bloodhound
08:46stepping through the front gate makes
08:48getting the godric a walk in the park
08:50mitchu's fight vs godric is a quick one
08:52after he buffs himself with flame grammy
08:54strength he baits out godric's lunge and
08:56then goes for an attack of his own
08:58unfortunately he does get clipped but he
09:00collects himself nicely in flame of the
09:01red mains gives him just enough poise
09:03damage to stance break godric for
09:09after just four attacks godric goes down
09:13next on mitchu's list is riker and
09:15before he engages in combat he stacks
09:17three separate buffs which all come
09:18together for some incredible damage it
09:20might not seem like a lot at first but
09:22remember riker has a whopping 59 000 hp
09:25so even an inch on that health bar is a
09:27lot of damage for reference i took this
09:29boss on while playing as melania herself
09:31in a different video and he took me
09:33forever to kill meechu's fight only
09:35lasted about a minute and 10 seconds
09:37rather than taking on margaret first
09:39spicy challenges riker and his fight is
09:41just as successful as michoud's
09:44versus margaret two hits is all he needs
09:46to fail to fell omen and after that his
09:48fight with godric isn't really a fight
09:50at all now that they're both in
09:52possession of the two great runes
09:53necessary to use the lift it was time to
09:55enter atlas plateau and the quickest way
09:57to do that is through the secret
09:59entrance at the bottom of volcano manor
10:01heading back to the godskin nobles room
10:02and jumping off this nearby cliff takes
10:04our speed runners deeper into the
10:05volcano until they eventually come
10:07across a room with two abductors in it
10:13each runner completely decimates both
10:15abductors with the wheel variant dying
10:20now that they're here they can finally
10:22infiltrate the shaded castle to steal
10:23the valkyries prosthesis from this chest
10:26and just north of the first grace in
10:27this area is millicent who will gladly
10:29take the new arm after giving it to her
10:31the runners head east toward this bridge
10:33and use the waypoint to fight the
10:34godskin noble at the top of this hill
10:36just like before a quick sleep pop makes
10:38landing hits with the serpent hunter
10:40that much easier and three hits is all
10:42it's going to take to bring this boss to
10:44his knees reloading the map here causes
10:46millicent to spawn in and now that she
10:48can wield a sword she agrees to help us
10:50fight whenever we need her little does
10:52she know she's gonna be the one who ends
10:53up needing our help anyway the next
10:55place they'll find millicent is the
10:56mountaintop of the giant and that's when
10:58spicy and mitchu set their sights on the
11:00capital on the way there spicy runs into
11:02some unexpected trouble
11:16after surviving that they approached the
11:17entrance of the capital and the
11:18draconics and no guarding it is not too
11:21pleased fortunately he has a much slower
11:23moveset than that of our speed runners
11:25so he goes down pretty easily and i have
11:26to say this is actually one of my
11:28favorite enemies you can definitely
11:29expect a tree sentinel run from me in
11:31the future running through the capital
11:32takes a long time and while glitches
11:35were banned unintended parkour wasn't so
11:38jumping down this ledge is fair game and
11:40before long spicy and michu are both
11:42taken to the most expensive boss in the
11:45gold free their strategy versus gold
11:48free is to just keep circling him until
11:50he either stomps or swings his axe but
11:52if you aren't careful you could easily
11:54end up like spicy who just barely
11:56survives getting hit if he died there
11:58that would have been huge he's only
11:59leading by a minute and a half michoud's
12:01fight versus gold free was flawless and
12:03as a result he makes some really good
12:05time when it starts he walks back just
12:07the right distance to avoid the axe
12:09throw and then when goldfree lands he
12:11has an attack just waiting for him all
12:13of michu's roles are perfectly timed and
12:15he uses every stomp as an opportunity to
12:17go for a jump attack with gold free down
12:19they're finally able to take on morgot
12:21and this fight is intense
12:24spicy opens with the most broken move in
12:26the game and morgot dodges it coming in
12:28for a slash of his own and
12:30wow that did his entire hp bar but
12:32spicy's not dead yet he doesn't even
12:34flinch or waste any time going for a
12:36heal and stay he pushes forward and goes
12:38forward a post knocking him to the
12:40ground and setting up two attacks as
12:42morgot summons the daggers overhead
12:44spicy keeps swinging because he knows
12:45exactly how many hits it's gonna take to
12:47break his stance and once he does he
12:54as morgot goes into phase two spicy
12:56backs off a bit and instead of getting
12:58greedy once he sees that his attack is
12:59gonna miss he attacks the other way
13:01instead so he doesn't overextend and
13:03after just one more jump attack the boss
13:07mitchu's fight was much less problematic
13:09by comparison he finds a lot of success
13:11with flame of the red mains breaking
13:13more god's stance multiple times and
13:15keep in mind most bosses in this game
13:17have 80 boys and the flames do 40 poise
13:19damage so two is all it's going to take
13:21to break his stance and after landing a
13:23few more critical hits he finishes his
13:24fight in just under a minute
13:27now that they have the medallion for
13:28melania they can use the lift to meet
13:29millicent in the mountain top of the
13:31giants back in the capital is this
13:33elevator that each runner takes to
13:34another elevator which drops them off at
13:36the forbidden lands heading north in
13:38this blizzard eventually takes them to
13:39the grand lift and after using it
13:41they're gonna cross this icy bridge
13:42where they find millicent
13:44exhausting her dialogue here causes her
13:46to move over to the halak tree but
13:48before they can get there they'll need
13:49to find both halves of the secret
13:51medallion required for the lift the
13:53first half of the medallion belongs to
13:54commander neal and spicy and michoud
13:56both start this fight off by walking
13:58over to the corner so that when his
13:59summons spawn in they can easily hit
14:01both at the same time for neal himself
14:04his attacks have a lot of cooldown so
14:06after he misses one both runners just
14:08swing their giant spear and he's pretty
14:12after collecting the left half from the
14:13top of this fort they fast travel back
14:15to the academy and just south of it is a
14:17village where you'll find the second
14:18half guarded by this old man who's doing
14:20a really bad job of cosplaying as
14:22alexander once they take the medallion
14:24from him they both enter the grand lift
14:26at the hour mark only this time hoisting
14:28the secret medallion instead
14:31that'll open up the hidden paths of the
14:32halak tree and trekking through the
14:34snowfield blind is rough but heading
14:36north eventually takes them to the
14:37deadly city of orono which is notorious
14:39for its invisible assassins and rooftop
14:41archers this is definitely one of the
14:44more dangerous parts of the run but
14:46solving the average else puzzle and
14:47activating each statue is necessary to
14:49get to the waypoint which transports you
14:51to the base of the halak tree there is
14:53one group of archers which makes this
14:55section of the run particularly
14:56difficult and spicy and mitchu both deal
14:59with them in completely opposite ways
15:01spicy intent on maintaining his lead
15:03decides to risk it all by just running
15:05at them and hoping for the best
15:08and it works out after he kills one he
15:10heads up the ladder and activates the
15:12statue without much trouble michou on
15:14the other hand takes his time to safely
15:16throw a sleep pot he crafted earlier at
15:18the furthest archer first and then
15:20bloodhound steps gonna help him avoid
15:23with the hard part out of the way
15:25activating the other statues is fairly
15:27straightforward and once they enter the
15:28halek tree it immediately turns into an
15:30obstacle course with both of them
15:33every step of the way some of the
15:35branches in this area are exceptionally
15:37thin and quitting out at certain points
15:39makes it easier to deal with some of the
15:41enemies because michi spent more time
15:43early on investing in bloodhound step
15:45dodging their attacks is second nature
15:47but he's still behind by two minutes to
15:49make matters worse he gets really
15:51unlucky here and succumbs to scarlet rot
15:53which will force him to have to sit at
15:55this grace and waste even more time
15:57if michi is going to catch up then spicy
15:59has to mess up in a huge way
16:02and he does before they can make it to
16:04millicent they have to take on loretta
16:06and spicy's fight is a disaster like
16:08most of the other bosses loretta only
16:10has 80 poise so two flames is all it'll
16:12take to break her stance and once spicy
16:14does he lands his first hit but misses
16:18loretta takes this opportunity to waste
16:20his time further by jumping back and
16:22casting sorceries and she even manages
16:24to dodge a few flames
16:26mitchu's fight by comparison is perfect
16:28he lands both flames connects both
16:30swings and all of his roles are
16:32perfectly timed to top it off in his
16:34fight loretta goes for mostly slow
16:36attacks where she's just standing still
16:38and that allows mitch to rack up damage
16:40very quickly ending his fight in just 35
16:44spices was twice as long with loretta
16:46doing everything in her power to waste
16:48his time and as a result he loses over
16:53delving deeper into the hallig tree
16:54brings them to the prayer room where
16:55millicent finally reveals that she's
16:57actually related to melania at this
16:59point mitchu and spicy break away from
17:01each other and take two different paths
17:03to achieve the same goal from the prayer
17:05room spicy jumps down onto this rooftop
17:07so that he can land on this railing and
17:09make it to this pillar
17:10jumping down again brings him to a
17:12bridge and at the end of it is a corpse
17:14with an ancient dragonstone on it and
17:16this is gonna let him finally upgrade
17:17his weapon to plus 10. heading in the
17:19opposite direction and rolling past this
17:21tree spirit leads to a series of rooms
17:23each filled to the brim with enemies but
17:25none of them dangerous enough to slow
17:26spicy down that's when he arrives at
17:28this giant waterfall of raw and the
17:30dagger he put quickstep on earlier helps
17:32him cross it once spicy makes it through
17:34he activates another grace further in
17:36and then he stops to level up before
17:38warping back and upgrading his weapon
17:40instead of jumping down like spicy did
17:42meechu bloodhound steps past these
17:43enemies and then climbs his flying
17:45buttress and a chest hidden behind this
17:47wall is a different ancient dragonstone
17:50and after he leaves this room he has a
17:51close encounter with the enemies on this
17:59fortunately he survives and instead of
18:01following spicy into the next area he
18:02spent some time leveling up at this
18:04grace because of the extra souls he got
18:06early on he's one level above spicy at
18:0876. to finish melissa's quest line they
18:11need to defeat the ulcerated tree spirit
18:13and this fight is really really
18:16dangerous with nearly 20 000 hp
18:19this spirit is the strongest one of its
18:21kind thanks to his reckless play style
18:23and a version of safe strategies spicy
18:25is leading by just over a minute but
18:27this is still his race to lose with that
18:30said his fight was absolutely perfect
18:33the tree's weakness to fire leaves it
18:35vulnerable to flame of the red mains and
18:36he has no trouble connecting it when he
18:38goes into phase 2 spicy stays close by
18:41and after breaking its stance a few
18:42times two hits to the head spells timber
18:46comparatively the first half of michi's
18:49fight was really good but after he
18:51breaks its stance he falls back to use a
18:53preserving bolus he picked up earlier in
18:55caled and this is going to get rid of
18:56his scarlet rod but that gives the tree
18:58spirit a chance to waste his time
19:02in the end he does make it out alive but
19:05his fight took 46 seconds spices only
19:10with the tree spirit gone you're given
19:11two choices you can either save
19:13millicent or invader and you have to
19:15savor to receive mikala's needle after
19:17defeating millennia remember that
19:19shiberi's wove from earlier well we
19:21finally get to see why each runner chose
19:23it and it's because it makes saving
19:25millicent a lot easier
19:27if you equip the item and jump off this
19:29cliff here the enemies will constantly
19:31chase you until they fall off it's still
19:33dangerous because they can hit you on
19:35the way down but as long as you keep
19:36rolling then you should be fine once
19:38they're all dead you get returned to
19:40your own world and without asking any
19:42questions millicent thanks you for your
19:43service after spicy's phenomenal fight
19:46against the tree spirit he chooses to
19:48save millicent too and while he's
19:50waiting for each invader to fall off
20:05michael obtains the unalloyed gold
20:07needle from millicent who unfortunately
20:09didn't survive her curse and now that he
20:11has everything he needs he challenges
20:13melania for the thousand dollar prize
20:15the fight starts and right away you can
20:17tell how focused he is he silenced the
20:19music so that he can focus on audio cues
20:32attacking melania during waterfowl does
20:34two things for one it's free damage but
20:37it also keeps her poise low enough so
20:38that he can stance breaker
20:40as long as he attacks her again before
20:42six seconds then she won't regenerate it
21:06after a very successful phase one
21:08michoud takes on phase two and his
21:10strategy changes entirely in the first
21:13phase he relied mostly on charge attacks
21:15but this time around he incorporates
21:17dash attacks and r1's too
21:58from start to finish michael's melania
21:59fight lasted one minute in 50 seconds
22:02and he obtained michela's needle with an
22:04in-game time of 1 hour 20 minutes and 48
22:08at the end of his run you could tell it
22:10took a lot out of him oh my god dj [Â __Â ]
22:12this oh spicy lost 40 seconds on that
22:17when he responds he isn't too far away
22:19but he does run into a bit of trouble on
22:50hopefully none of that bad luck follows
22:51him into his melania fight because when
22:53he challenges her there's about an hour
22:55and 17 minutes on the clock
22:57that means he has roughly three minutes
22:59to finish this fight
23:24after her waterfowl he misses an
23:26opportunity to hit her a third time and
23:27her poise completely regenerates
23:54despite the minor setback spicy beats
23:56the first phase in just 47 seconds five
23:59whole seconds faster than meechu did all
24:02he needs to do now is keep it together
24:03for phase two but melania had other
25:59if you thought the end of this video was
26:01insane then you won't believe what
26:03happens at the end of this one
26:05you're just gonna have to watch it to
