00:01it is time for some Path of Exile
00:03discussion welcome to day seven of
00:04teaser season the patch 3.25 and the
00:06upcoming Settlers of kelgar expansion
00:09today we're going to be talking about
00:10blight and some changes that were
00:12announced for the league mechanic in
00:13particular a new reward that's going to
00:15come out of it I would just first
00:17mention though I'll apologize in advance
00:18I'm feeling a bit sick at the moment so
00:20you'll probably hear my voice sounding a
00:22little bit off and my face definitely
00:23looks a bit off I'm more feeling off
00:25color than terrible and hopefully I'll
00:27be fine in a few days time because
00:29spoiler season is going to be heating up
00:30in the next week as we get closer to the
00:32main live stream announcement the
00:34announcement that was made today is
00:35pretty quick and compact but has a lot
00:37to break down so we're going to have a
00:38look at this firstly a new oil is being
00:40added it's called the Prismatic oil and
00:42it's going to come from blighted maps
00:44and blight ravage Maps this is then
00:46going to empower new anointments that
00:48are not something that are currently
00:49available on the passive tree they'll be
00:52things that are secret anoints much like
00:54the existing vengeant Cascade vengeant
00:56Cascade many of you may remember was
00:58extremely overpowered a couple of
01:00leagues ago it then got nerfed and no
01:02one uses it anymore but returning
01:04projectile support was added it has a
01:06lot of the behavior that you used to get
01:07from vengeant Cascade just at a more
01:09reasonable power level it's my
01:11speculation the Prismatic oil will be
01:13quite rare granny gear games have said
01:15it only comes from blinded maps and
01:16blight ravage maps and I think they're
01:18going to make it fairly rare because
01:20currently all of the existing oils in
01:22the game are something that anyone with
01:23a blight Focus can get pretty quickly
01:25which means that in trade League which
01:27is what they balance around they don't
01:29have a huge value getting a gold oil is
01:31certainly something you're happy to see
01:33but it's not something that's an amazing
01:34drop and I think they might be trying to
01:36add an amazing drop to blight that is
01:38less exclusive than strangle gasp the
01:40item that drops only very rarely from
01:42black ravaged Maps so that's my
01:44speculation of course I could be wrong
01:46but I also think that the decision to
01:47name it Prismatic rather than just to
01:49pick another color is also further
01:51evidence that they want this to feel
01:52special we know exactly two of these new
01:54anointments there is Inc Caporal which
01:56is a considerable buff if you are using
01:58the elusive mechanic
02:00the way that elusive Works having a
02:02small amount of elusive on you is
02:03actually a drawback because it prevents
02:05you from restarting elusive back at full
02:07strength within Caporal it's going to
02:09fall off once it gets under 20% effect
02:12while it's a very short-term Nerf to
02:13your combat power it will then allow you
02:15to get a new copy of elusive which will
02:17start again at full power potentially
02:19quite a bit over 100% as a result this
02:21will increase the average effect of
02:23elusive On You by about 10% so it's
02:25Straight Upside having it fall off
02:27elusive on you reducing in effect 50%
02:30slower makes elusive better for boss
02:32fights that go quickly but it's not
02:35something that's massive and it's not
02:37something that's necessarily always for
02:39the best this is in my opinion a medium
02:41power anoint but because we know it's
02:43going to be using one of the Prismatic
02:44oils it could end up being quite
02:46expensive to apply as a result I don't
02:48expect to see it all that often the next
02:50one however is quite a bit better mixed
02:53Munitions asks you to do something weird
02:56it provides you 5% increased cooldown
02:58recovery rate for throwing traps per
03:00mine that you've detonated recently now
03:02the number of Mines you've detonated
03:03recently IE within the last four seconds
03:06is a stat you can scale really really
03:08high with a bit of effort I think
03:10there's a couple of main uses for this
03:12firstly cooldown recovery rate for
03:14throwing traps is something that is only
03:16a useful stat if you're using one of the
03:18cooldown traps seismic trap is arguably
03:20the most popular of these there's also
03:22flamethrower trap lightning spir trap
03:24and lightning SP trap of overloading
03:26which is something that I quite like and
03:28feel is a bit underexplored at the
03:29moment a really quick aside on Lightning
03:31spy trap of overloading there are a
03:33number of alternate ailments in the game
03:35brittle sap and Scorch these are
03:38potentially quite powerful and they're
03:40quite difficult to inflict on enemies
03:42without the huge opportunity cost of
03:44taking secrets of suffering and locking
03:45yourself out of freeze shock and ignite
03:48well there is a way to do this and that
03:50is lightning spy trap of overloading a
03:52weapon that provides flat cold and or
03:54flat fire to spells and replica
03:56Malachi's artifice because lightning spy
03:59trap of overload has 100% Critical
04:01Strike chance as long as you don't Nerf
04:02that with anything else on your
04:03character this is then going to inflict
04:06those ailments on enemies but it's going
04:08to do so without the regular secrets of
04:11suffering drawback which is the ban on
04:13igniting or shocking or freezing with
04:16your own skills so this is something
04:17that's a little bit of tech that you can
04:19keep in mind aside over let's go back to
04:21talking about the new news let's go back
04:23to mixed Munitions in general this
04:26effectively grants you the entire
04:27benefit of advanced trap support applied
04:30to your cooldown traps as long as you're
04:32willing to jump through the considerable
04:34Hoops that mix Munitions asks of you so
04:36you're going to need to be spamming
04:38mines on your character you can spam
04:40these mins as an additional source of
04:41damage or perhaps they're just there as
04:43a buff or perhaps they're there as your
04:45primary clear skill for example with ex
04:47sanguinate linked to them while seismic
04:49trap is used for tankier rares and for
04:51big bosses lots of different options
04:53there the last thing I think we want to
04:55really keep an eye out for and this may
04:57not be something that we get information
04:59on for a little while is exactly how
05:01these new Prismatic oils are going to
05:03interact with a couple of things on the
05:05atlas distilled fungus allows blight
05:07bosses in your maps to drop an
05:09additional anointed jewelry item this
05:11can have any anointment in the game and
05:13they don't seem to be weighted most of
05:15the time you get a ring that doesn't
05:17require gold or silver oils and it ends
05:19up just being left on the ground but
05:21sometimes you get something that
05:22requires a gold or a silver oil and at
05:24that point it's time to pull out the oil
05:26extractors oil extractors allow you to
05:28harvest one of those oils out of one of
05:31the jewelry pieces that you've got it's
05:32a bit random whether you get a good one
05:34or not but this is going to get a lot
05:36better if Prismatic oils are rare and if
05:39Prismatic oils are added into the pool
05:41for distilled fungus I want to also
05:43remind people that Spore guard exists
05:45spor guard is an item that people don't
05:47usually equip as is instead what they do
05:50is they apply an anointment to it then
05:52they V orbit or even take it to the
05:53double corruption chamber hoping that it
05:55becomes a rare item and then if that
05:57happens they then apply aain Mythic orb
06:00to it hoping that it becomes the Ivory
06:02Tower this will then generate an ivory
06:04tower that will have a blight anointment
06:06as an enchantment on it which is often
06:08stronger than an ivory tower that has a
06:11particular Heist enchantment on it
06:13there's also a couple of other items
06:14that this can be done with as well C the
06:16thermophile copile and copile breath
06:19stealer and the Stampede all of these
06:22items are blight exclusive uniques that
06:24only come from blighted maps and all of
06:26them can have an anointment placed on
06:27them which you can then potenti turn
06:30into a rare item and do further things
06:31with finally of course there is strangle
06:34gasp which is the Big Daddy of all of
06:36these items it's an onx amulet that does
06:38nothing on its own but it can have three
06:40additional enchantment modifiers and
06:42once you put the four enchantments on it
06:44if you Breck it into a rare item with a
06:45vob or a double corruption chamber it
06:48retains those four anointments these are
06:52going to be hugely buffed by this
06:54addition of Prismatic oils assuming that
06:56the Prismatic oil pool has anything good
07:00the last thing we need to talk about
07:01though is opportunity cost in general
07:03you can only have one anointment on your
07:05character and by default that is going
07:07to be one of Whispers of Doom
07:09sovereignty champion of the cause
07:12influence Charisma or a couple of other
07:14Aura related noes because those are so
07:17so so powerful in the 3.24 game Whispers
07:20of Doom being the one that allows you to
07:22have two curses which is something
07:23that's a bit different to all of the
07:25other really powerful nodes and then of
07:27course your build also potentially has
07:29something that is build specific like
07:31the node that gives hex blast 50%
07:32increased St of effect that may also be
07:35competing with these powerful Aura nodes
07:38all of these new amulet noids are going
07:40to live or die based upon whether they
07:41can compete with these existing
07:43Powerhouse nodes so it'll be important
07:45to look through the patch notes and have
07:46a look are there any Nerfs to
07:47sovereignty Whispers of Doom and the
07:49like if so are they still so good
07:51they're going to be used anyway or have
07:53they been vengeant cascaded and removed
07:55from consideration for almost every
07:56build after considering that do you want
07:59to take a chance on making a build that
08:01feels like it's going to heavily rely
08:03upon one of these new Prismatic oil
08:04enchants or are you someone who wants to
08:07play it a bit safe and make a first
08:08character that will work without
08:10something like mixed Munitions and then
08:12you can potentially swap to something
08:13like that as a bonus later on finally I
08:16expect we'll probably get a data mind
08:18list of these at the very very latest 12
08:21to 15 hours before the league goes live
08:23but I could be wrong there granny gear
08:24games might decide to keep them secret
08:26they do after all term them new Secret
08:28notables After after all so maybe we're
08:30not going to find out the details until
08:32someone gets into standard finds the
08:34first reflective oil and then starts
08:36experimenting and if there's a triple
08:38reflective oil anoint it might take even
08:40longer unless of course people are able
08:41to Simply vend a three gold oils into a
08:43prismatic oil in which case most of them
08:45will be found within an hour or two of
08:47The League going live anyways that is
08:50the buff to blight that are taking place
08:52in 3.25 or at least what we know of them
08:54so far I'll leave you with one more
08:56reminder and that is that in about 16
08:58hours after this video goes long live
08:59streamer jungr is going to be hosting a
09:01race to four void Stones which if you're
09:04one of the best players in the game will
09:05be a lot of fun to participate in but
09:07even if you aren't participating it'll
09:08be a really good source of information
09:10on builds that have been proven and
09:12tested in The 3.24 Meta many of which
09:14will likely survive into 3.25 may aobs
09:18have interesting results
