00:00cyber dopamine here um it's crazy you
00:02know time flies we've got the rag Ally
00:04Legion go steam de ol these things are
00:07rad and I've put hundreds of hours into
00:10each one I know them so well and they've
00:14changed there's been updates like crazy
00:16and so I thought you know what a lot of
00:18the comments people are asking like I
00:20play this or I'm a dab with three kids
00:22what's the most convenient handheld
00:24there's a ton of questions so let me do
00:25my best to kind of put it into
00:27perspective for you guys as for what you
00:29should consider and then whatever one
00:31you like the most I've made a separate
00:33video on it so which handheld is the
00:36most convenient it's quite obvious that
00:39the steam deck is extremely convenient
00:41this thing is a conso like experience
00:44far as with these windows handhelds
00:46these are just computers I mean the
00:48steam's a computer too but this ain't
00:50sugar cating anything okay these things
00:52are like are actually like having a
00:55gaming PC and so there's maintenance you
00:58know youve try to update your driers
01:00you've got to fix a lot of problems that
01:02come up there's a ton of glitches
01:04especially with these touchs screens
01:05windows isn't really optimized and user
01:08friendly but the steam deck is just like
01:10you press the power button you pick up
01:13exactly where you were 7 hours ago or
01:15the day before in the middle of Skyrim
01:17or whatever game you want to play double
01:19tap to play your game right I mentioned
01:21this before you know windows it's like 7
01:24Taps to play a game a huge part of
01:26convenience is like you know you want to
01:28know that if you bring this with you to
01:30your friend's house and they start
01:31talking about football you want to pop
01:34this on and not worry about battery just
01:35want to play it you know the steam deck
01:37wins for that because I'll go into
01:39battery in a minute here so which
01:41handeld has the best battery well if
01:43you're looking up buying the legion go
01:44or the rag Ally to play on the go I hate
01:49to break it to you but it's going to be
01:51a stressful situation it is not going to
01:54be an easy peasy let's go have fun
01:57playing games situation and what I I
01:59mean is like maybe you're in the
02:01backseat of a car going from Oregon to
02:03California or you're on an airplane that
02:05doesn't have an outlet next to you
02:07you're only going to get about an hour
02:09of solid gaming time especially with
02:12these AAA games you the legion go I get
02:15about an hour 10 minutes and then the r
02:18Ally I'm getting like 50 minutes and for
02:21some of you that might be great but the
02:22problem is that you know you want to
02:25play a game you kind of want to get
02:26immersed in the game and you want to get
02:28consumed in it Hy pretty like hyperfocus
02:32right and so it's actually what I I've
02:34mentioned this before when you're
02:36playing on a Windows handheld you're
02:37kind of like playing in fear so here's
02:40Elden ring it's unplugged and it's
02:43awesome super smooth experience I cannot
02:46complain except for the fact that as I'm
02:49playing and I'm jumping on my horse like
02:52half of my brain is stressing out that
02:54the 20% battery is going to pop up on me
02:57and then it does and so it's like you
03:00can't really get immersed in the game
03:02the steam deeg OLED you know when you
03:04turn this thing on you've got a good
03:06like 3 hours of play time you don't have
03:09to worry and when you put it to pause
03:12you know you turn off the game set it to
03:15the side you can come back and the
03:16battery hasn't trained much like it's
03:19just super easy going so if you are
03:21someone who wants to play on the go the
03:23steam deck by far is the winner now
03:26let's talk about the big one which is
03:28performance right here's a problem this
03:30is what a lot of a lot of you guys are
03:32kind of conflicted on it's like I could
03:35get a legion go or a r Ally with really
03:38good performance but then I don't get
03:40that clean user console like experience
03:43and I get horrible battery so what
03:45should I do well you got to ask yourself
03:48what kind of games do you play because
03:51the way I see it with the steam deck is
03:52this thing is a Honda Civic and what
03:55that means is it's a very good reliable
03:57car it's not the fastest car are but it
04:00can go on the highway just fine um but
04:04if you are someone who likes those
04:06firsters shooter games you like those
04:08like AAA games and maybe you want to
04:10hold on to one till Grand Theft Auto 6
04:13and all these future releases you know
04:16that's where the the legion go and the
04:18rag Ally should um kind of be in your
04:20favor the way I see it is the steam deck
04:23has the worst performance but it's not
04:26bad performance like it just does the
04:28job if you're okay with 30 FPS you're
04:31you're good to go the legion go is
04:33second on the list because the legion go
04:35is second on the list reason being it's
04:38actually more powerful on paper than the
04:41rag Ally just by like you just by Ram
04:44but for some reason I'm getting way less
04:46frames than the Frog Ally this thing is
04:49number one for example on the finals as
04:51you can see I've got 90 FPS as an
04:54average sometimes are breaking 100
04:56frames per second on the rag Ally which
04:59is crazy for a handheld the legion go
05:01I'm stuck at around 70 and I never
05:03really hit past 100 now let's talk about
05:06the best display this is interesting
05:09because each device has a strong suit
05:12within its display the steam bag OLED
05:14has an OLED screen the Rog Ally has
05:18variable refresh rate and then this
05:21Legion go has a giant high resolution
05:24big old screen so you got to pick your
05:26demon a lot of this is preference for me
05:29personally I go with the legion go
05:31screen every single time except for when
05:35I'm playing tense firstperson shooter
05:37games with my friends or my brothers
05:39that's where I choose the Rog Ally
05:42because of the variable refresh rate
05:43things are much smoother you know but
05:45with these RPG games the games where you
05:48kind of want to like get consumed in the
05:49game you're not like super competitive
05:51you just kind of want to get lost the
05:53legion go has the best screen for that
05:56and the steam OLED is incredible
05:58obviously as you know blacks are black
06:00colors are quite Vivid it's a very
06:02bright screen if you get the game when
06:03that supports HDR but here's the thing I
06:06don't ever come to the steam deck for
06:09the screen I never have don't think I
06:11ever will um even on the big old gate
06:15like I get the hype around in OLED but
06:17when I come from the legion go I'm
06:20actually quite bummed and so I go into
06:23the steam deck just for that convenience
06:25sometimes I'm you know I don't feel like
06:27keeping it in the charger all the time
06:29and I know that if I put the device to
06:31sleep it's going to wake back up but the
06:33screen has never been like a strong suit
06:35so I guess the simplest way to put it is
06:37like if you want to get immersed in your
06:39game you want to get lost in the world
06:41luian go if you like to play games
06:43because you're competitive you like
06:44those fastpac games rag Ally the
06:47variable refresh rate and if you like
06:50retro games and and then you like to
06:52dabble in the AAA games here and there I
06:55would say the steam de Go lit okay the
06:57next thing I wanted to talk about is
07:00right that's huge these are handhelds
07:02you want them to last and um there's
07:05been some interesting stories with these
07:07devices now the steam deck OLED I
07:10haven't messed it up but I messed up my
07:12last steam deck by dropping it off the
07:14side of my bed I broke the right bumper
07:17and the back buttons are a little Wiggly
07:19if you shake them if I had to pick one
07:21that was the least durable I would say
07:23it's going to be the legion go and the
07:25reason being is because these
07:27controllers are detachable which means
07:28there's a lot room for wobbliness over
07:31time the screen is also Giant and so
07:34it's prone and more prominent to screen
07:36damage scratches and things like that
07:39I've taken this thing everywhere I don't
07:41use a case for it I haven't come across
07:43anything yet but I can see myself coming
07:46across problems in the future if I keep
07:49treating it the way I do other than that
07:52it's a very sturdy device if you shake
07:53it there's a lot of moving things okay
07:57and that's why I'm a little Fragile with
07:58it second place is the steam deck OLED
08:02now I'm not saying that this thing is
08:03not durable it's always dependent on
08:06circumstance and physics of the fall but
08:08I did see the most wear and tear on my
08:11original steam deck that I had for a
08:13year and this device right here I
08:16haven't seen any wear and tear I've
08:17taken it on flights I've been all you
08:19know been it's been through it so far
08:22nothing but number one on the dur
08:25durability test by far is I've mentioned
08:27this many times is the legion go this
08:30thing is built like a tank listen I'm
08:34not going to ask you all to subscribe
08:36you don't have to if you don't want to
08:38um just tell me what I can do to make my
08:41videos better this stuff is my I'm
08:43obsessed and I want to really like grow
08:45this so please tell me what I can do
08:47better okay now let's go to the next
08:49topic it is able to withstand damages
08:52I've dropped this maybe four or five
08:54times like I mentioned before my friend
08:57James threw it off a roof I I have been
08:59through hell and back with this thing
09:01I'm serious ring scratching into it
09:03dropping it I don't use a case for it
09:05when I travel which I do quite often
09:07which is probably why I love handhelds I
09:09don't have to worry about this stin at
09:11all and every time I turn it on even
09:14after all these scratches DS and
09:16problems it's still ready to present
09:18itself really well now I just want to
09:20talk about portability cuz again these
09:22are handhelds as far as form factor goes
09:25it's quite obvious that the leion go is
09:27a big giant Beast of a machine in
09:30comparison to the other two and it's
09:32quite problematic because you got to put
09:34it in the case and the case is huge it
09:37takes up like 40 50% of your backpack so
09:40I don't recommend if you travel a lot I
09:42mean the legion go is a great experience
09:44but you know the steam deck is a little
09:47bit smaller and a tad bit more sturdy
09:50and the case is smaller as well and then
09:52you you won't have to worry so much
09:54about bringing a charger you're not
09:56stressing all the time with battery with
09:58this it's like you have to pack up put
10:01it in the case bring some headphones cuz
10:03the audio is really bad and bring a
10:05charger as well and so that takes up a
10:07lot of your backpack and it's like a lot
10:09responsibility whereas a steam deck you
10:11can feel comfortable in just putting it
10:13inside the case and go on about your day
10:17or you can tuck in the charger on the
10:19backside and so really it's just one
10:21giant piece that you're worried about
10:23the Rog Ally is the smallest and fittest
10:26of the three but again you're going to
10:28have to bring the charger however I do
10:30think that this is the easiest one to
10:31just grab throw in your bag throw in the
10:34charger I'm pulling it out it's a piece
10:36of cake you know and you can hold it
10:37super sturdy you don't have to worry
10:39about being in a safe environment with
10:41it like this thing you can just kind of
10:43grab it play it charge it but audio
10:46speakers go a long way in playing your
10:50games you need good speakers bad
10:53speakers kill destroy the experience
10:57number three on the list is the Legion
10:59go these speakers as I've mentioned
11:01before they sound like a tamagachi which
11:04really sucks cuz it's the most immersive
11:07handheld so I end up putting on
11:09headphones most of the time I'll deal
11:12with the audio and hope my brain gets
11:14used to it after coming back from these
11:16two devices but like it is not good okay
11:19number two in line is the steam deck ol
11:22these speakers are amazing okay they do
11:26the job really well there's not too many
11:28loads there's not too much lows what can
11:30you expect the mids and the highs are
11:33good they're clean they can present to
11:35you what is shown on the screen very
11:37well but number one on the list with the
11:39best audio are these freaking is the rag
11:42Ally this thing like I've mentioned
11:44before finds a way to go around your
11:46ears almost like a set of headphones and
11:49what's even crazier is like when it
11:50comes to like sound staging so like if
11:53there's a bad guy over here running
11:54through the walls you can hear him you
11:56know ex you can like hear him exactly
11:59and you can accurately aim down your
12:00sides and shoot through that wall and
12:01chances are you're going to hit the
12:03person just because the aerial the sound
12:06Sage is so good which is so crazy
12:08they're Extremely Loud these speakers
12:10rank up I never have it at full volume
12:13the lows are heavier than the steam deck
12:15ol the mids are very clean and precise
12:19and the highs do not pierce your ears
12:22and they fill in the gaps that are
12:23necessary for a good gaming experience
12:26now let's talk about the best controls
12:29um I won't dive deep into this because
12:31they're just buttons which for some of
12:33you it's a huge thing but here's what
12:35I'll tell you the Roy Ali controls there
12:38are too many buttons that you never use
12:40that are actually quite annoying and if
12:42you shake the device you can hear them
12:44you always end up accidentally clicking
12:46them and they're very unnecessary
12:48because they're not programmed and if
12:49you want to program these buttons to do
12:51something you're going to have to go
12:53inside the game go inside Legion space
12:56configure things and then like I don't I
12:58don't know it's just a hassle I've never
13:00messed with them then you've got the rag
13:02Ally which does not have a trackpad
13:05which is extremely necessary if you like
13:07to spend time on Windows maybe you like
13:10dragging mods from one file to another
13:12or you're kind of like doing things
13:14aside from gaming you need a good
13:16trackpad cuz it makes your software
13:19experience much easier this lacks that
13:22but here's what this rag Ally makes up
13:24in controls and to me that is latency
13:27and that is latency if you play
13:29firstperson shooter games you're going
13:31to be the most impressed with these
13:33controllers okay because like I've
13:35mentioned this before here's a slow-mo
13:37of the finals obviously there's latency
13:39on a handh help what can you expect but
13:41it's far less in the Lo R Ally and
13:43Legion far less in the legion go and
13:45seam de OLED then you have gyro you aim
13:48down your sights and you can tilt it
13:49it's very accurate you can set the
13:51sensitivity to super high that's a very
13:53convenient thing and it doesn't have
13:55like basically it doesn't have it Blow
13:57Weare there's not unnecessary buttons
13:59that are just in the way like for
14:01example M1 and M2 I don't need more I
14:05never used all four on the steam deck
14:07and I never touched the legion go once
14:09the steam decks controllers are great
14:11especially if you like to play balers
14:13gate they're very satisfying track pads
14:15they vibrate when you move them and they
14:17click it's super I love it I love the
14:20joysticks they're very stiff which for
14:21me is good um the r Aly is very loose
14:24leing go is very loose and the for you
14:27know you know what I'm just I'm not
14:28going to keep going on about controls
14:30but now which handheld is the most
14:32future prooof we've got some big titles
14:35coming up and you sure want that
14:37confidence knowing you can play those
14:39games when they get released I don't
14:40blame you um some of you might look as
14:43far as Grand Theft Auto 6 well if I'm
14:46confident about one device that could
14:49actually handle these upcoming games
14:52really well it is the Rog Ally because
14:55what it really boils down to is
14:57performance and this this thing like
14:59I've said is so good at performing at
15:03its finest it just man I hit frame rates
15:07that my gaming PC 5 years ago couldn't
15:09hit I mean it's just crazy now of course
15:12this is a Windows device and it's not
15:14valve which means Jesus they're coming
15:16out with their new handheld their new
15:17rag Ally at the end of this year lovo
15:20Legion they're going to be they're
15:21probably working on something new
15:23already but the problem you're going to
15:24get with these is that you will lose
15:26Support over time whereas
15:29the next steam deck is confirmed for
15:31another like two or 3 years or something
15:33so you know valve is working hard to
15:35keep this thing up to date with software
15:37updates and fixing problems like the
15:40Linux anti-che things like that you know
15:42now this is just like the big question
15:44I'm going to narrow down what should I
15:46get it really depends on the game you
15:47play so if you like to play first person
15:51shooter games finals Call of Duty Modern
15:54Warfare 2 I don't know any High tense
15:57quick game where accuracy matters you
16:00know I'm picking the rag Ally 10 times
16:03over that variable refresh rate smooth
16:07as butter responsive quick gyro low
16:12latency this thing is just perfect for
16:15those first person games and then I'll
16:17plug it into a computer and use my mouse
16:19and keyboard and they wait see it feels
16:22perfect if you're in RPG games Elden
16:24ring Skyrim balers gate maybe um you
16:28know Dragon Dogma 2 Red Dead Redemption
16:302 100% I recommend you get the leion go
16:33the reason being is that that screen
16:35just kind of puts you in that world and
16:38if you put on headphones I mean you're
16:40there you're in the Wild West in St Dene
16:43you know it's a cool feeling I remember
16:45playing cyber Punk with this thing and I
16:48literally got chills the Ambiance of the
16:51city I mean I I couldn't believe I was
16:54experiencing this kind of immersion on a
16:57handheld and same goes with the r Alli
16:59and steam deck they don't lack immersion
17:01this just does it a little bit better
17:03maybe you're a retro gamer okay so maybe
17:05like retro games and you like to dabble
17:08into first person or and maybe you like
17:09to dabble into CL like good game you
17:12know and maybe you like to dabble into
17:14you know you like to step your feet into
17:16some AAA games you know then I tell you
17:19to get the steam deck because from an
17:21allaround perspective the steam just
17:23seems to be the most convenient the most
17:26reliable it's never going to disappoint
17:28you unless it comes down to Performance
17:30with future releases it just does the
17:32job maybe you can't play Modern Warfare
17:352 on multiplayer I get it but chances
17:37are you're not buying a steam deck for
17:39that so the steam deck is just like the
17:41best Retro Gaming slash like I play
