00:02one of the frequented questions i
00:04actually get asked quite a lot on stream
00:06and also in other places is what is the
00:09best nation to start within war thunder
00:11and the reason is is i'm guessing
00:13there's a lot of new players obviously
00:15over the last few years
00:17warthunder itself has had a massive bump
00:20in popularity uh it's been growing what
00:23seems like exponentially over the last
00:26little bit and i thought i would use
00:27this video to try and outline which
00:30nations i think are the best for
00:32starting in the game when it comes to
00:35ground aviation and naval i'll also do a
00:37little section about the tech trees that
00:40i enjoy the most when it comes to
00:42different parts of the game one thing to
00:44note uh before we get into it is just
00:46remember i don't particularly play
00:48helicopters that much
00:50so i can't really give too much insight
00:52on them but everything else i am able to
00:55before we get into which nation's
00:57ambassador if you want to skip to these
00:58you can i put chapters in the video so
01:01you can just go to each area i'm gonna
01:03talk about my philosophy of generally
01:05playing the game so when it comes to war
01:07thunder the things that i focus on is
01:10spading vehicles or fully modifying them
01:12basically and in order to fully modify
01:16them you have to play them enough to be
01:18able to get all of the modifications and
01:20normally if you do that it unlocks the
01:22next vehicle in the line that you're
01:23playing and then you can you know go
01:26from there it's something i've been
01:27doing recently on stream with the
01:30israeli tech tree kind of spading one
01:32vehicle researching the next with that
01:34spade and then just keep going over and
01:36over again and it's how i make sl um and
01:39it's also how i make rp it works very
01:41efficiently and it works incredibly well
01:44one of the things to also note is i turn
01:46off auto repair the reason for this is
01:48because it saves sl and everybody should
01:51turn off auto repair
01:53while you are going through vehicles but
01:55generally what i like doing and what
01:57i've done for many years now
01:59is i try and keep all of my nations
02:02when it comes to what ranks i'm at so
02:05back in the day where everything was
02:07rank four i would play america until i
02:10got into rank five then i would skip to
02:12germany get them into rank five skip to
02:15the soviets get them into rank five and
02:17so on and so forth as i went across the
02:21i think this generally should be done
02:23when it comes to the game so you can
02:25experience all different aspects of it
02:27and also experience all the different
02:29allies and enemies that you're going to
02:31be facing or with so therefore it makes
02:33it easier for you to work out you know
02:36what's going on and how to fight
02:39everything basically uh the other thing
02:41to also note uh when it comes to this
02:45what i would personally do if i was
02:47starting the game again with all the
02:48knowledge i had i'll grind one nation to
02:51rank three so i could do the dailies
02:53every day to do the bada pass stuff and
02:55also to do the events and all of the
02:57other nations during the time where i've
02:59already done my dailies and when i've
03:01done uh the events and stuff i would
03:03then grind the other nations to get them
03:05to rank three and then i'd be able to
03:07use them for stuff like dailies and
03:10stuff like events as well so therefore
03:12there is always a reason to be able to
03:14be playing different nations and if you
03:16kind of hit a stumbling block on one of
03:19them you can then switch to another to
03:22the first nation out of three is america
03:25and the simple reason why is because
03:27even though america is one of the
03:29largest tech trees uh when it comes to
03:31aviation ground and naval it also is the
03:34tech tree which has the most chance of
03:37expansion in the next few years pretty
03:39much every um every update america gets
03:43something quite big whether it's a jets
03:45whether it's a naval vehicle or whether
03:46it's a ground vehicle and also has an
03:49incredibly strong helicopter tree so
03:51they have pretty much everything you
03:53would ever want there's a reason why
03:56in a realistic for for example for many
03:59years now especially at the jet level
04:01it's been everyone else versus america
04:04because america really does have kind of
04:07the uh it kind of has the overall
04:10fact that it has everything that it
04:12needs so a lot of people play it it's
04:15also not too bad of a grind
04:17when you have more vehicles in a tech
04:19tree around similar battle ratings it
04:21means that you can form lineups when it
04:23comes to ground realistic and when it
04:25comes to navel and this makes it a lot
04:27easier to play because you always have
04:29backup vehicles if you die which are
04:33uh the ones that you know you normally
04:36and also at the same time they have
04:38great cass elements for both game modes
04:40as well like everything is nice for
04:42america because they just have so many
04:44options this does mean that the grind is
04:46generally a little bit longer but if you
04:49do what i was talking about in the
04:50philosophy area basically the idea of
04:53getting them to rank three and then
04:54maybe uh branching out that won't be too
04:57much of an issue because you always know
04:59that you'll have a stable to be able to
05:01go back to they also have some really
05:03nice things such as a lot of the
05:04shermans in ground have access to
05:06stabilizers meaning that you can get
05:08used to them pretty early on um and also
05:11at the same time you can pretty much
05:13always guarantee the first shot off in
05:15all of the engagements the only place
05:17that they struggle with kind of at the
05:20armor their armor isn't the best but the
05:22mobility is good and the guns are good
05:24so therefore you can kind of make up for
05:26that they have a great mid-tier lineup
05:29six seven is absolutely fantastic seven
05:31three and seven seven are also fantastic
05:34for the americans and there isn't really
05:37a br brackets where they're weak when it
05:39comes to any of their major tech trees
05:42and as i said they're also the nation
05:44which is going to be expanded upon the
05:46most so you know if you're starting
05:49america or if you know if you're getting
05:50into it you're going to have the most
05:52toys and you're also going to have the
05:55most room for future content it's why
05:58it's so appealing to a lot of people in
06:00general it's a really good tech tree
06:05say really a bad word against it they
06:07don't really do anything badly in the
06:10tech tree itself and they have many meta
06:12vehicles and many different brs there's
06:14also a ton of different vehicles so
06:17therefore you know you can have a bunch
06:20of different experiences which is quite
06:21nice depending on which tech trees
06:23you're playing but overall america is
06:25definitely the number one when it comes
06:28to the new player experience
06:31germany is also one of the best new
06:33player experiences because of the fact
06:35that it has a really good early ranks
06:39to their ground and also to their
06:41aviation their naval stuff also is
06:44pretty good when it comes to destroyers
06:45not the best but definitely very good
06:50little boats as well also at the same
06:53time when it comes to its ground they
06:55have a lot of auto cannons which are
06:57really good and they keep getting
06:59certain vehicles uh downed in br meaning
07:03that they're going to be stronger such
07:05as the panzer fours making it easier to
07:08play in the mid tiers you also get some
07:10of the iconic vehicles like the panther
07:12the tiger the tiger ii h all of these
07:15have unique play styles which make them
07:17quite interesting to play and are also
07:19very strong for their br brackets and
07:21one of the areas where germany used to
07:23struggle was when you used to go from
07:25the 7-0 to 9-0 area they didn't have a
07:29ton of stuff they obviously had the
07:30leopard but nowadays they have had an
07:33injection of light tanks over the last
07:35few years the two madas the puma and
07:38then also stuff like the df-105 have
07:42brought that area to life for germany so
07:45making the tech tree much easier to be
07:47able to go through and a lot of fun to
07:50go through as well lineups is not really
07:53an issue before germany at most brs they
07:56do have some vehicles that they're a
07:58little bit rough to play which is some
08:00of their tank destroyers but that is no
08:03different to something like the soviets
08:04which have a very similar situation and
08:07also they don't have some of the
08:09weaknesses of some of the other nations
08:11so their armor generally is pretty good
08:13um their gun depression is fantastic
08:16they have very average reloads as well
08:18when it comes to their vehicles and some
08:23a certain play style to them but overall
08:26they are fantastic vehicles so i would
08:29definitely say germany is also up there
08:32when it comes to ground the only issue
08:36exists right now is in their aviation
08:39we're going through a period in war
08:40thunder's history where germany used a
08:43lot of vehicles from other nations and
08:45not necessarily the best of from the
08:47other nations they used you know either
08:49hand-me-downs or vehicles which were
08:51purposely made weaker than their natural
08:54company sorry their natural country's
08:57counterparts so generally when it comes
09:00to them uh i don't think uh their
09:03aviation at the top is tier is in the
09:06best place right now and also from 7-0
09:09to nano it's not the best either there's
09:12a lot of kind of dud vehicles which are
09:14not too fun to play but for naval
09:17they're in a great place they have one
09:18of the best naval machines in the game
09:20the scharnhorst and also for ground they
09:23are fantastic aviation they're a little
09:26bit behind but they will eventually get
09:28back up there as one of the leaders
09:32the next one is china and i've always
09:35found it weird when it comes to war
09:36thunder because there seems to be a
09:38vocal uh mass of people who are very
09:41down when it comes to the chinese tech
09:43trees and i don't really understand why
09:45the chinese tech trees in themselves
09:48offer a lot of variety in gameplay and
09:50also they offer a lot of tastes of other
09:53tech trees meaning that if you're a new
09:55player to the game it means that you
09:57yourself can experience a bunch of
10:00different play styles and a bunch of
10:01different vehicles before maybe
10:03exploring those options more in the
10:05other tech trees and uh as a new player
10:09you know you won't have played a bunch
10:10of the other tech trees before so maybe
10:12you won't mind you know the fact that a
10:15few of the vehicles are similar or the
10:17same as other nations vehicles which
10:19gives you a great platform to be able to
10:22understand more about the game if you
10:24play china than other nations
10:26being able to play stuff such as you
10:30know the early tiers where you get some
10:32american vehicles you get some soviet
10:34vehicles you get some other nations
10:36vehicles it pretty much means that you
10:38are able in one place to just be able to
10:42gain more knowledge about stuff that you
10:45fight and also stuff that you play as
10:47and i really think you know that's very
10:50useful especially since a lot of the
10:52other nations vehicles which are seen as
10:54meta or at least close to have found in
10:57the chinese texture in the early tears
10:59its only issue really is its top tier
11:02but as a new player you know that
11:04shouldn't worry you too much because
11:05it's going to take you a while to get
11:07there but their top tier is a little bit
11:09lacking right now but it is getting
11:10better and better and better with every
11:13year or every update that comes along uh
11:15the chinese top tier is so much better
11:18than it was a year ago uh compared to
11:22i really think it is worth a punt when
11:25it comes to the game itself a lot of the
11:27other tech trees have many issues or
11:30weaknesses or issues with lineups yes
11:32you can get to like the top tiers faster
11:34in something like sweden but are you
11:36going to have a better time no you're
11:37not um especially as a new player
11:39because you're going to have to come up
11:41against so many different obstacles well
11:43when it comes to america germany and
11:45china those obstacles are going to be a
11:47lot less and also at the same time it'll
11:51better to grind through because you'll
11:52get more crew skills while doing it and
11:54also at the same time you'll have full
11:56lineups not just from a ground point of
11:58view but also from an air point of view
12:00the only issue with china is the fact
12:03that they don't have naval right now and
12:05they don't have helicopters the
12:07helicopters tree we know is being worked
12:09on so i'm sure it will be here at some
12:11point and naval wise uh there is no word
12:14whether they're going to get it or not
12:15so that might be a little bit
12:16off-putting to people if they are
12:18interested in naval but then again as i
12:20said if you are then you have america
12:23and germany to be able to get you
12:25through and the british naval tech tree
12:27is pretty fun as well
12:29and as for my favorite nations when it
12:31comes to grinding it's uh pretty simple
12:33italy for aviation i really enjoy the
12:36second world war propeller planes they
12:38are fantastic to play and they have no
12:41real weaknesses and since a lot of the
12:44tree is made up of them i had a really
12:46really fun time grinding through them
12:48when it comes to naval it's america and
12:50the reason is is they have the best
12:52destroyers which is part of the larger
12:54ships that i enjoy and when it comes
12:56their coastal fleet they have a
12:57fantastic two seven and three seven
13:00lineup oh sorry 3-0 lineup which i use
13:03for a lot of the events which are super
13:05fun when it comes to
13:07the ground portion that actually goes to
13:10france now france actually has a really
13:12really rough rank one one of the worst
13:14in the game and used to be even worse
13:16than you see it right now
13:18but it is uh much better when it goes to
13:21rank two and above the autoloaders are
13:24very fun they have uh meta vehicles and
13:26most vrs the only area where they kind
13:29of struggle is from kind of the nano to
13:32the tenno area but once you get those
13:34the clerks and the top tier they are
13:36really really fun vehicles so those are
13:38the trees that i've mostly enjoyed when
13:41it comes to war thunder and hopefully
13:44gives you a little bit of insight how i
13:46enjoy the game and how hopefully you can
