✦
Tips for Using Print-On-Demand Websites.
28:10Storefront is not important on print-on-demand websites; designs are found through search or advertising.
Store name can be unrelated to the niche, and designs can be uploaded across different niches.
Uploading designs involves selecting a PNG file, adding a title, description, tags, and choosing product availability and colors.
Effective titles should include the shirt phrase followed by a low competition keyword; Teepublic automatically adds apparel style to titles.
✦
Importance of creating relevant tags and descriptions for merchandise listings on Teepublic.
32:33Avoid using edgy or vulgar content to prevent potential issues.
Tips on selecting colors for designs to ensure visibility on various shirt colors.
Demonstration on choosing default color for listings and selecting appropriate color options based on the design.
✦
Selection of colors for designs is crucial for ensuring they look good on different apparel items like T-shirts, hoodies, and tank tops.
35:10Default colors must be chosen carefully as not all items may offer the same color options.
T-shirts generally generate the most sales compared to other items like stickers, phone cases, and mugs.
Heavy modifications are often needed for designs to fit perfectly on non-apparel items, making it more time-consuming with potentially fewer sales.
Focusing primarily on apparel items can save time and improve sales efficiency.

00:00Hey everyone, welcome
back to another video.
00:02In today's video, I'm going to be giving
00:04you a complete print on demand tutorial.
00:06Now, this video is going to cover
00:08everything that I personally do.
00:10And it's literally going to
take you from idea of wanting
00:12to start print on demand to
getting your first sales,
00:15and cover everything in
between step by step.
00:18Now, throughout this video,
00:19I'll explain things here on camera,
00:21but also I will put
you on screen recording
00:23so you can follow along step
by step on your own computer.
00:25Now lastly, before we
switch over to the computer
00:27here and get started,
00:29I just wanna say that this is
going to be a longer video.
00:31There is a ton of information
for me to cover in this video,
00:34so it is going to move at a quick pace.
00:36And I really hope that you
take advantage of this.
00:39This literally could be a full
course, and as you guys know,
00:42I'm just giving it to
you for free on YouTube.
00:44It has all of these special
tools, artificial intelligence,
00:47everything that I have learned to use
00:48is all going to be
spelled out in this video.
00:51So all I ask is if you
do enjoy this video.
00:53Please just give it a thumbs up
00:55and let me know down in the comments.
00:56So without further ado, let's
switch over to the computer
00:58and get started in this video.
01:00So the very first thing to cover here is,
01:02what is print on demand exactly,
what is the business model?
01:05Just so we are on the same page
01:07as we go through this tutorial.
01:08So essentially what the print
on demand business model is,
01:11is you create T-shirt designs,
01:14you upload them to a
couple different print
01:16on demand websites.
01:17And then people can
come to those websites,
01:19they can find those designs
on T-shirts, or hoodies,
01:22or other apparel,
01:23and they can actually
purchase your design printed
01:26on those items.
01:27But the whole kicker here
is that that specific item
01:30that they ordered will be
printed, and it will be shipped,
01:32and all the customer
service will be handled
01:34by the print on demand website themselves.
01:37So us as the print on demand seller,
01:39we are only responsible for
creating those T-shirt designs
01:42and uploading them to the
print on demand websites.
01:44So to show you exactly
what this looks like,
01:46let's come over to Amazon.
01:48Which if you didn't know,
01:49is actually the largest print
on demand website out there.
01:52Not many people know that
you can do print on demand
01:54on Amazon.
01:55But to show you what this looks like,
01:57if you type in a type of
T-shirt, this is camping T-shirt,
02:00and you scroll through the results,
02:01you'll see a bunch of these
different T-shirts available.
02:04And any of these listings that
say "Amazon Merch on Demand,"
02:07they are actually people who
have only uploaded the design
02:10and then Amazon is
doing the rest for them.
02:13Amazon is creating this listing
02:14to show what it would look like.
02:15When anyone orders this item,
02:17Amazon's going to print it, ship it,
02:18take care of all of the customer service,
02:20but you would never know that
just scrolling through here.
02:23Now, something I will say
is that some of these,
02:25something like this,
02:26it does not have the Amazon
Merch on Demand label on it.
02:29This could actually be a person
that is selling on Amazon,
02:31where they print the items themselves,
02:33they ship it out themselves.
02:34So that is mixed in here, but
the people taking advantage
02:37of the print on demand business model,
02:39they will all be labeled with
"Amazon Merch on Demand."
02:41So to show you what this looks like,
02:43if we click in on one of these items here,
02:45the listing is going to show up
02:46exactly like any other
product that is on Amazon.
02:49You can see what the product looks like,
02:51you can actually change the
color of what that would be.
02:53And the reason that you
can change the color
02:55is because none of these
are actually printed yet.
02:57So once you place an
order in a specific color,
03:00and then you come down,
03:01you pick what kind of shirt
you want that printed on,
03:03and you pick your size,
03:04you can actually just
add that to your cart,
03:06you can buy it now,
03:07and it ships just like any
other product from Amazon.
03:10Now, with that being said,
03:11if you do everything
correctly in print on demand,
03:14you literally just have
to upload your designs
03:16and then you sit back and
collect your paycheck.
03:18That is literally it.
03:19You don't even need
any internet connection
03:21for this to happen
because all of the traffic
03:23is coming to the websites that I'm going
03:25to show you automatically on their own,
03:27so you don't have to do any advertising
03:29or anything like that.
03:30Now, saying this out loud
starts to make it sound
03:32like it's too good to be true,
03:33but I've literally been
doing this business model
03:35for almost 10 years now.
03:36And I'm just trying to give
back with these tutorials,
03:38and create the things that I wish I had
03:40when I was starting out.
03:41So I really hope that you
guys put this into action.
03:43Trust me when I say
03:44there is plenty to go around
in this business model.
03:47Now, a couple important
things before we move
03:48on from here just to tie
all of this together.
03:51Amazon is the largest print
on demand website out there,
03:54but they are not the only print
on-demand website out there.
03:57What many people don't know
03:58is that when you create a
design, something like this,
04:00and you upload it to Amazon
to be sold on Merch by Amazon,
04:04you can also upload that exact same design
04:06with the exact same title and description
04:08to other print on-demand
websites at the same time.
04:11This means you are going
to get organic traffic
04:13and sales from not only
Amazon, but the other websites
04:16that I'll show you in
this tutorial as well.
04:18Now what's going to be really
cool is that I've been selling
04:20on many different print on
demand websites over the years,
04:22and I figured out which
ones sell the best,
04:25and those are the ones that I'm going
04:26to be showing you in this tutorial,
04:27just so you're not wasting your time
04:28with other print on demand websites
04:30out there that don't
actually get many sales.
04:32And then the very last
thing before we keep going
04:34here is that there's
actually two different types
04:36of print on demand.
04:37There is passive print on demand,
04:39which I've just showed you here.
04:40This is basically you upload the designs,
04:42the websites do everything for you,
04:44and you just collect your paychecks.
04:45And then the other way is
active print on demand.
04:48This is where you are
creating your own website,
04:50you're uploading your own
print on demand designs
04:52and creating your own listings,
04:54and then every time you get an order,
04:56you can actually send that order
04:57to a print on demand fulfiller.
04:59They will ship it out
for you so you don't have
05:01to do any of the printing,
05:02but you are still responsible
to drive your own traffic,
05:05bring your own buyers,
and most importantly,
05:07you have to still do your
own customer service.
05:10When you do this passive route here,
05:11all of the customer service
and everything is done for you.
05:14So needless to say,
05:14I can definitely tell you over the years,
05:16the passive route is
so much more enjoyable,
05:19and that is what this entire tutorial
05:20is going to be based on.
05:21Okay, so let's move right
along in this tutorial
05:23and start to get into the fun stuff.
05:25So the very first
05:26thing is that when you
are creating designs
05:28for print on demand,
05:29you can create those designs
and sell them in any niche
05:32or any topic that you want.
05:34The only important thing to
know here is that you need
05:36to avoid copyrighted
or trademarked things.
05:39These are most commonly
going to be movie quotes,
05:42song lyrics, or company
logos, company names,
05:45or company phrases.
05:46As long as you are avoiding those things,
05:48you can create your
designs on anything else.
05:50So to give you a perfect example of this,
05:52something like this
design that we just saw,
05:54or even going back and
looking at these other ones.
05:57These are all great ideas,
05:58this is kind of the sweet
spot for print on demand.
06:00You're creating designs that
someone would want to buy
06:02for themselves or buy as
a gift for someone else
06:04that's interested in that topic,
for this example, camping.
06:08So for you getting started
in print on demand today,
06:10what I would recommend
for you to do is to think
06:13about what are your hobbies
or what are your passions?
06:16What are things that you know
a lot about or you care about,
06:18that's going to keep this engaging,
06:20it's going to keep it very interesting
06:21and fun for you to get
into print on demand.
06:23So once you roughly have
that idea in your mind,
06:26and remember you can change
this niche down the road
06:28as many times as you want to,
06:30then I would come over to etsy.com.
06:32Now, although we are not
going to actually be using
06:35Etsy for print on demand, we're
not going to sell on there.
06:38I have used Etsy for years
previously to come up with ideas
06:42of what kind of designs I
want to create and sell.
06:44So type in your niche, and then "T-shirt,"
06:46and then just scroll through here.
06:48Now, we're not looking for
anything to directly rip off
06:50and just copy, but we're
just looking for ideas
06:53to get our brain going
here so that we can use
06:55that as inspiration for our designs.
06:57So as you scroll through here,
06:59you can see "Camping because
therapy is expensive."
07:01That's just a funny shirt for camping.
07:03You've got "Camping crew."
07:05As you keep scrolling through,
07:06you're just going to see more ideas here.
07:08Now, something that I have learned,
07:10and this is going to be the
first kind of special tool
07:12or strategy for you to use, is
that scrolling through here,
07:15yes, it gets your brain going,
07:17but it's not going to tell you
exactly what kind of designs
07:19to create within this overall niche
07:21that are likely to sell well.
07:23That's where I've learned to use tools
07:25where it gives you kind
of insider information
07:28on what gaps there are within camping
07:30that are actually going
to sell really well.
07:32So now that you've seen
kind of a backup way
07:34to come up with ideas and
get some inspiration here,
07:37now let me show you how I currently do it.
07:39So this is a tool called Merch Informer.
07:41If you have seen my other
print on demand tutorials,
07:43you will see that I use this quite a bit.
07:45I'm going to show you a few different ways
07:47that I use this specific tool
throughout this tutorial.
07:50And I will say that this is a paid tool.
07:52So the pricing here is about
9.99 a month or $20 a month.
07:57You only need the newbie plan to do this.
08:00And I've actually been
using them for so long
08:02that I have a coupon code that
I can share with you guys.
08:04I'll put it down in the description,
08:06but it gives you 20% off
of either of these plans,
08:09so it should bring it down
to about $8 per month.
08:11Now, what's nice about
this tool also is they have
08:13a three day free trial,
08:14so you can actually use
the tool totally for free
08:17for three days.
08:18So you can do this whole tutorial
08:19without having to pay anything.
08:20So with that being said,
let me get logged in here
08:22and then I'll show you how to use it.
08:23Okay, so once you are
logged into Merch Informer,
08:26we're going to come to the left side
08:28where all of these really expand
08:29into other print on demand
tools that you can use.
08:31Specifically what we are
looking for at this stage
08:34is to go to keyword research
and then keyword finder.
08:37Now, this is the beauty
of using a tool like this.
08:39Literally you just come up here
08:40and you type in what the niche
is that you had the idea of,
08:43and then you click search.
08:45And then literally in a couple seconds,
08:47it's going to break down
that entire overall niche
08:50and show you where the gaps are,
08:52where other people are
not selling designs in.
08:54Now, when you hear camping overall,
08:56you might just think to create
general camping designs.
08:58But as you're scrolling through here,
09:00we're looking on the left side,
09:01this is going to tell you what
kind of that sub niche is.
09:04And then we're looking at competition,
09:06and we're just looking for the green ones.
09:07That means that it's low competition
09:09specifically on that sub niche.
09:11Now, I'll show you some examples,
09:12I'll scroll through this entire thing
09:13and pick a couple out here,
09:14we will use them for this tutorial.
09:16But the super important thing to know
09:18here is that as print on-demand
starts to get more popular,
09:21those big overall niches
like camping, golf, yoga,
09:25those are all going to start to get full
09:27and more competitive.
09:29However, by having a tool like this,
09:31this is literally your secret
weapon to go in and find,
09:34what are all of those sub
niches within the overall niche
09:37that everyone else doesn't know about
09:38and people haven't thought
to create designs in yet?
09:41So literally by scrolling through here,
09:43you can skip over everything that is red,
09:45and we're just going to scroll
down and look for the ones
09:47that are green, "Camping
fun, camping friends."
09:50Not all of these are going
to make a lot of sense
09:53right off the bat.
09:53"Camping is," you could
fill in the blank there,
09:56but that's not what we're looking for.
09:57We're looking for,
09:58and I'll show you exactly
when I find them here.
10:00Okay, here's a bunch of
green, "Camping women."
10:03Perfect.
10:04Apparently there are a
lot of camping designs,
10:06but they are made for men.
10:08You wouldn't think to do
that extra search to find out
10:10that there are not many
designs created for women.
10:13That is exactly what I'm talking
about with this research.
10:15And then you've got more here,
we've got "Camper camping,"
10:18so actually camping in a travel camper,
10:20not actually setting up a tent.
10:22"Beer camping, family
camping, camping adventures."
10:25So literally family camping,
beer camping, camper camping,
10:28and camping women.
10:29Just like that, I've literally
found four sub niches
10:32or low competition gaps within camping.
10:35If you go into print on
demand on the websites
10:37I'm about to show you,
10:38and you create designs
in these sub niches,
10:41you are going to be
one of the few sellers,
10:43and inevitably you are going to get sales
10:45because you're one of the
only few to pick from.
10:47You're not uploading into
a very crowded market.
10:49So once you've got this
first sub niche picked out,
10:52we will start with camping women
10:53and I'll show you how to do this.
10:54And then once you've
made designs in these,
10:56you can literally come back
and you can start doing
10:58all of these other ones
and filling them as well.
11:00So this is the next tool
that I use in this process.
11:02It is called ChatGPT.
11:04It is a totally free
artificial intelligence tool
11:06that you can use.
11:07The website to get to
it is chat.openai.com.
11:11And by the way,
11:12I'll put links to all of
this down in the description.
11:14So you don't have to memorize any of this,
11:15all the links will be waiting for you.
11:17However, at the moment
while I'm making this video,
11:19this tool is still totally free to use.
11:21You just have to create an
account and you can use it.
11:23I will say though,
11:24there have been rumors about
big tech companies purchasing
11:27this software and putting
it behind a paywall
11:29so you can't use it for free.
11:31So all I'm trying to say is if
you can still use this tool,
11:33definitely use it for
this part of the process.
11:36So what ChatGPT does is
you basically come in
11:38and you can write a message.
11:39It's basically like you are
asking a question to Google,
11:42except it's basically
11:43an artificial intelligence
virtual assistant.
11:45So whatever you ask it, it's
going to generate an answer
11:48and give it back to you written
11:49with artificial intelligence.
11:50Now, what I use this for in
my print on demand process
11:53is asking it to brainstorm ideas for me
11:56or slogans that I can
put on T-shirt designs.
11:59So now that we have the idea
of women's camping T-shirts,
12:02now let's go over here,
and I'm going to say,
12:04"Write me 10 funny women's
camping T-shirt ideas."
12:11You don't have to put funny in here,
12:12you could put in something
different or funny.
12:14I just find for print on demand,
12:15a lot of people are purchasing
these shirts as gifts.
12:18So having funny designs
in really any niche
12:20is only going to help you.
12:21So then you just hit enter or you hit go,
12:24and it's literally going to start writing
12:25these ideas for you.
12:27Now, just like that, we
literally have 10 ideas
12:30that we can use for print on demand,
12:31and some of these are great.
12:32So, "Camp hair, don't care,"
12:34that I imagine would make a great shirt.
12:36"Hiking is just walking
where it's okay to pee.
12:39My favorite camping accessory?
12:41S'more wine, please."
12:42these are great ideas for
print on demand T-shirts.
12:45And literally, you can change
this from 10 to 20 or 30,
12:48and they'll just create you a longer list.
12:50You can even do regenerate,
12:52and it will rewrite the list for you.
12:54And it's just going to
give you similar results
12:56or slightly different results.
12:57It'll ask you, was this better or worse?
12:59This is artificial intelligence saying,
13:01"How can I make you happy?
13:02Did I do better this time?
13:03Do you want it to be slightly different?"
13:05And then you can go back
and forth on the results
13:06that it's written for you.
13:07And you can even prompt
it to do other things.
13:09So, "Make these shorter,"
13:12if you want them to be shorter phrases
13:13instead of longer ones.
13:15And it's just going to
regenerate these for you.
13:17As I'm looking through these,
13:18there's literally so many good designs
13:20that you can create here
13:21that are just hilarious T-shirt designs.
13:22So this is my new and improved process
13:24for finding these T-shirt design ideas.
13:26The first part being so important
of finding that sub niche.
13:29The second part is using AI
to come up with the ideas
13:31instead of Etsy.
13:32However, there's one big
catch to using ChatGPT,
13:35and that's that it's not
going to tell us which ones
13:37of these are copyright
or trademark protected.
13:40Remember in the beginning,
13:41we briefly talked about
movie quotes, song lyrics,
13:44or company names, logos, or phrases.
13:46those are the most common
things that you cannot use
13:49for print on demand.
13:50However, things like
phrases like these can
13:52also be protected by people or companies.
13:55So the next part of this process
13:56is definitely the most
serious and the only real part
13:59that you have to do for print on demand,
14:01is making sure that all of these,
14:02or the ones that you want to use at least,
14:04are not protected by other people.
14:06If you just use these the way they are
14:08and you go create your design
14:10and upload them to print
on demand websites,
14:11the people that own these
can flag yours as a copyright
14:15or trademark infringement.
14:16And if your account on that website gets
14:18too many of these flags, your
whole account gets taken down.
14:21So just spend a minute here,
14:23make sure that you are protected, free,
14:24and clear before you use these,
14:26and I'll show you how to do that.
14:27So the way to do this is you take the ones
14:29that you want to use from here,
14:31and just exclude the quotation mark.
14:32So I'm just going to take this first one,
14:34command C, or you can right
click and you can copy that.
14:37And then go back over to Merch Informer.
14:39And they actually have another tool
14:40that we can use for this.
14:41You go to trademarks, and
you go to trademark alerts.
14:44And this is literally a tool
that we can just command V
14:46or we can right click paste,
14:48and you can start putting
all of these in here
14:50and search them all to see
if they are protected or not.
14:52So I'm going to hit enter,
come down to the next line.
14:55And let's go grab another one of these.
14:56"Camping hair, don't care,"
that's another great one.
14:59Copy, paste.
15:01Let's go grab another one.
15:02"Life's more fun when you're camping."
15:04That again, these are hilarious.
15:05Copy that, we'll put that in here.
15:08Lemme just grab a couple more.
15:10Okay, so that should do it.
15:11We've got seven of them pasted in here.
15:13And literally all we do now is hit save,
15:15and it's going to drop all of
these down into our list here.
15:18And now all we do is hit check trademarks.
15:20Now, if your page doesn't already show
15:21that they are checked down
here, just refresh your page,
15:24and then it will show
that they are checked.
15:26Sometimes that happens.
15:27But now we can look at
all of these phrases
15:29and instantly know if they are safe to use
15:31for print on demand T-shirts or not.
15:33So all of these actually
happen to be safe to use
15:35and they are not
protected by other people,
15:37but if you got any red Xs,
15:39do not use those to upload on
your print on demand shirts
15:42because your designs are
likely going to get flagged
15:44for copyright infringement,
15:45and we do not want that for our business.
15:46So as this turned out, all the
ones that I want to use here,
15:49they are all free to use.
15:50This just saves you a ton of time,
15:52and you know going into this,
15:53you have the peace of mind
that you can be using them.
15:55So once you've gotten to this stage,
15:56there's literally just the
designing and the uploading left.
15:59You are very far along here.
16:01So first off, congratulations
for getting this far.
16:04Now, we have our design ideas,
16:06and now I'm going to show you how to turn
16:08these into full fledged print
on demand T-shirt designs
16:10without having graphic design experience.
16:12So when it comes to the
actual T-shirt designs
16:15for print on demand,
16:16they are arguably the
most important part here.
16:18Even if you find some really
good low competition gaps
16:21in niches that people
are not uploading to,
16:23if you have bad designs,
16:25people are simply not going to buy them.
16:27When I started out in print on demand,
16:28I still was not a graphic designer
16:30and I was creating things by hand.
16:32This took a lot of time and
my designs were not very good.
16:35A lot of them were just
text-based and that was it.
16:38Over the years, I have learned
that there are websites
16:40out there that have print
on demand T-shirt templates.
16:43That you can go in,
you can customize them,
16:45you can change things, use
all of their templates,
16:48download that to your computer,
16:50and you can upload those to
the print on demand websites.
16:52This will make your life so
much easier in print on demand.
16:55It makes the design
process very efficient,
16:57and it gives you professional templates
16:59so you're not starting from scratch.
17:00So with that said, let
me show you the tool
17:02that I personally use for this.
17:04This is the design tool
that I have grown to use,
17:06and I have used many of them
out there over the years.
17:09It's called Placeit.net.
17:10Again, I'll put a link to
it down in the description.
17:13This is another one that is a paid tool,
17:15but trust me, it is so worth it.
17:16Between Merch Informer and Placeit,
17:18these are the only paid
tools that you need
17:20for this entire business model.
17:22Now, as far as pricing goes for this one,
17:23pricing is about 9.99 per month.
17:26So it's the same as Merch Informer.
17:27Again, I've been using them forever,
17:29so I have a coupon code from them as well.
17:31I'll put that down in the description.
17:33The reason I use Placeit
17:34is because everything on their website,
17:36from the fonts, to the
graphics, to the layouts,
17:39is copyright free.
17:40As we were just talking about,
17:41the phrases cannot be
protected by other people,
17:44but there's also such thing as the fonts
17:46or the graphics being owned
and protected by other people.
17:49Some of these other design
tools out there that I've used
17:51in the past are not 100% copyright free.
17:54So you might create a design,
everything looks good,
17:57you upload it to a
print on demand website,
17:59and it gets flagged and
taken down in the future
18:01and you don't know why.
18:02It could be because the font that you used
18:04is owned by someone else.
18:06This is just a nuance to
this kind of business model,
18:08and that's why I use Placeit,
18:09is because you don't
have to worry about that,
18:11everything on here is copyright free.
18:13The reason I think it is worth
spending a minute to explain
18:15that is because I understand
when you are starting
18:18a new business, you're not
trying to pay other people money,
18:21you're trying to make money yourself.
18:22So I just wanted to make
sure that I was transparent
18:24and properly justified
what tools I pay for
18:27and why I recommend them
to you if you are getting
18:29into this business.
18:30So with all that being said,
let me log into Placeit
18:32and I'll show you how
to bake these designs.
18:34Okay, so once you're logged into Placeit,
18:36you have a bunch of different
18:37things that you can create here.
18:39Specifically what we're
looking for is designs,
18:41and then we're going to apparel and print,
18:43we're going to go to T-shirt designs.
18:45Now, this is going
18:45to show you all of their
different T-shirt templates
18:48that you can use and customize.
18:49If you scroll all the
way down to the bottom,
18:51you can see there are over 800
pages of different templates
18:54you can choose from.
18:55And each one of these has to have
18:57at least 20 designs on them.
18:58So there are a ton of designs.
19:00Now, all of these can be customized,
19:01and you can even sort on
the left side by newest,
19:04most popular, bestselling.
19:05However, from experience here,
19:07what I would recommend for you to do
19:09is to just go straight up top
19:10and type in what your niche is.
19:12So I'm going to type in "camping,"
I'm going to hit search,
19:15and then this is going to bring
up everything that they have
19:17on the niche of camping.
19:19Although we are not
creating mock-ups right now,
19:21you can actually upload
your design onto a model,
19:23which is pretty awesome.
19:24But what we wanna do is
come over to the left side,
19:27scroll down over here until
you see T-shirt designs.
19:30Now, these specifically,
19:31since we've just done
the search for your niche
19:33and sort it by T-shirt designs,
19:34these are all going to be
T-shirt design templates specific
19:37to camping that we can use
19:39that we know are all copyright free.
19:41So once you scroll through
here, you can get an idea
19:43of all of these different
camping templates,
19:45and they can all be customized.
19:46The idea is that all of
these different phrases
19:49that we want to use,
19:50you wanna put each one of
these on their own template.
19:52That way you have a
bunch of unique designs.
19:54Now, kind of a rule of thumb here is,
19:55whenever I'm going into one
of these low competition gaps
19:58within a niche, like the
women's camping shirts,
20:00I'm trying to create 20
to 40 different designs,
20:03upload them into that kind of gap,
20:05and then move on to the next one,
20:07Whether that was beer camping
20:08or whatever one I wanted to go into next.
20:10The reason for this is because
whenever a seller comes
20:12in and searches for that,
20:13basically any design that
they're going to purchase there,
20:16whatever listing is likely
going to be one of mine
20:18because it's low competition
20:19and I put 20 to 40 good designs in it.
20:21That's how all of this really works,
20:23and that's a rinse and repeat process.
20:25So let's get started
with the first one here.
20:27I'm just going to come back
20:28and I'm going to use
"camping hair, don't care."
20:30I'm just going to copy that,
20:31and then I'm going to go back over here.
20:33And I'm going to pick
one of these templates.
20:35I'm a sucker for these circle designs,
20:36I just really like them, they
come out so easily, so good.
20:39And then once you click on it,
20:40you're basically now in
the editor on place it.
20:43And basically all we need to know
20:44here is that this text corresponds
20:46to the text box over here.
20:48So whatever you change
20:49here is going to change this text box.
20:51You can move things around,
20:52you can make them bigger and smaller,
20:54and then you just hit the back button
20:55if you wanna undo something you did,
20:57or if you wanna put it back
to the original layout,
20:59you just hit the reset button right here.
21:01So I'm just going to come over here,
21:03and I'm going to select this,
21:04and I'm going to delete
that and hit paste.
21:06And that actually didn't paste very well,
21:08so I'm just going to
manually type this in.
21:10Camping hair, don't care.
21:14And literally as you type this in,
21:15it's going to reformat it into this design
21:17so all of the heavy
lifting is done for you.
21:19Now, what's also cool about these designs
21:21is they're already in the camping niche.
21:23So the graphic that's in the middle
21:24is already about camping.
21:26Now, if you wanted to change
this graphic to something else,
21:28all you do is the graphic
that's in the middle right here
21:31is actually editable on the left side.
21:33So you hit edit, and you can
search for anything else.
21:35So if we typed in camping,
you can click any of these
21:38and it will sub that
right into your design.
21:40You just click on it and
it'll put that in the middle.
21:42And all of these graphics that come up,
21:44these are all copyright free,
21:46they're all commercially usable as well,
21:48so you don't have to
worry about using them
21:50and then somebody flagging
your design later.
21:52So literally just in a couple clicks,
21:53I've made this custom design.
21:55If you wanted to,
21:56you could literally leave
this how we had it before,
21:58and you can use this design right here.
21:59As long as you are changing
something on the design
22:02and downloading it, it's
totally yours to use.
22:04And then another important
thing to know here is,
22:06if you do want to change the font itself,
22:08not the text, but the actual font,
22:10whether that's the color of the font
22:11or what the actual font
is so it looks different,
22:14you just go to the
corresponding box over here,
22:16you hit the dropdown,
22:17and you can literally just go
through any of these fonts,
22:19all of them are going
to be copyright free.
22:21You can even hit more fonts.
22:23And then all of these fonts
22:24you can use totally copyright free,
22:26you don't have to worry
about someone else owning it.
22:28And then the same goes for the color.
22:29You literally can just click here,
22:31and you can change the
color to anything you want.
22:33Okay, so now that you've
got your design ready,
22:35there is one extremely important thing,
22:37and Placeit makes it very easy.
22:39This background, this blue
color, we actually do not want.
22:42So when you're creating a
print on-demand T-shirt design,
22:45you only want the design itself,
22:47you don't want this blue rectangle
22:48to be printed on that shirt as well.
22:50So not all tools will have this feature,
22:52but Placeit does have it.
22:53But what that is, is once
you have your design ready,
22:55the very last thing you do is
you go to background color,
22:58and then you go all the
way to the bottom corner,
23:00it's kind of hidden here
and it's a checkerboard.
23:02this is the transparent background.
23:04Once you click that, the
background blue color goes away.
23:07And although you can't
really see our design,
23:09we know it's there because
we already created it,
23:11this is the very last thing we're doing.
23:13So now once we upload this
to a print on demand website,
23:15only this design will be
printed on that shirt.
23:18And in the next step, you'll
see what I mean by that.
23:20So this design is literally ready to go.
23:22All you have to do now
is just hit download.
23:24Give this just one second to load here.
23:26It's going to process your design
23:28and then you can download
it to your computer.
23:29But once it is ready, it will
say, "Click here to download."
23:32Just click that.
23:33And it's going to ask you what
you want to name this design.
23:36So what I would name it is
whatever text was on that shirt.
23:38So I should still have it copied.
23:39Lemme just paste it right
here, camping hair, don't care.
23:43That's what I'm going to name this design,
23:44and I can save it right to my downloads.
23:46So this is our design right
here saved on our computer.
23:49And as you can see when you zoom in here,
23:51the quality of this design
is actually really good.
23:53So when it gets printed on a shirt,
23:55you're going to have no
issues with the resolution
23:57or having blurry images or anything.
23:59When it saves it off of Placeit,
it's saved as a PNG file,
24:03which you'll see in the
next step is very important.
24:05And the resolution is
perfect for printing.
24:07So once you've gotten to this stage,
24:08you're literally almost done already.
24:10All that's left is really the logistics.
24:12This is just uploading to
the print on-demand websites,
24:14putting your title, your
tags, your description,
24:16and you're really done.
24:18So again, congratulations
if you've made it this far
24:20in this video, you are literally
on the home stretch here.
24:23So without further ado, let
me show you what's next.
24:25So this is the part of
passive print on demand
24:27that I really enjoy,
24:29and this is something I'm
excited to share with you.
24:31When you create the designs like this
24:32and you have them saved
on your own computer,
24:34you can upload them to multiple
print on demand websites
24:37where they can all get traffic
24:38and they can all get
sales at the same time.
24:40So with that said,
24:41in a second we'll switch
back over to the computer,
24:43and I'll show you exactly how
to upload to these websites.
24:45But first, it's very important
to know which websites
24:48to upload to.
24:49There are tons of different
passive print on demand websites
24:52out there, but not all of them
should be treated equally.
24:55I've been selling on
many different platforms
24:57for many years now,
24:58and only a couple of them have
really outshined the rest.
25:01Now, the reason that this is important
25:02is you don't wanna be
wasting your time uploading
25:04to websites that are just
not going to give you sales.
25:07Rather, I would focus on the ones
25:08that are really the big hitters here.
25:10And what those are currently
25:11are just three specific websites.
25:13So I'll put these up on the screen
25:15here so you can screenshot this
25:16or jot this down just so you
have this for reference later.
25:19But the first website
is called Teepublic.com.
25:22The second website is
called RedBubble.com,
25:24and the third website is
Amazon Merch on Demand.
25:27Now, these three websites
are all free to use.
25:29All you have to do is create
an account with your email,
25:32and literally they get tons of traffic.
25:34Just to give you some reference here,
25:35Teepublic gets about a million people
25:37to their website automatically,
25:39organically every single month.
25:40Those are just people coming
in looking to buy shirts.
25:43RedBubble gets almost 10
million people per month,
25:45and then Amazon gets almost
a billion people per month.
25:48So just by being on all
three of these websites,
25:51you're not going to have
to do any marketing.
25:53All you're going to have to do
is upload your designs there,
25:55and then sit back and
let them do the rest.
25:57So with that said, let's get
started on the first one here,
25:59this is Teepublic.
26:01When you come to Teepublic,
26:02it's basically just a marketplace.
26:03So if you were to type
in "camping T-shirt,"
26:06you will see all of the different designs
26:07that are available.
26:08And when you click on this,
26:10it will show you what it looks like.
26:11Just like we saw on Amazon,
26:13this is basically just
another version of that,
26:14but specifically for print on demand.
26:16So for us, let's go to the homepage,
26:18and we're literally just going
to hit create an account.
26:21And then once you get to this page,
26:22literally all you have
to do is fill this out
26:24and then you're going to
be ready to upload designs.
26:26So I'll fill this out with you
26:27just so we can go along step by step.
26:30And then you'll have this
little button at the bottom
26:32that says, "Yes, I'd like
to advertise my products
26:34in offsite marketing."
26:35I highly recommend just leaving that on.
26:37It's not going to cost you anything extra,
26:39it's totally free,
26:40but it allows Teepublic
to run additional ads
26:43on your listings to try
to get more sales in.
26:45Remember, you're splitting
the profit with Teepublic,
26:47so you get your profit,
they also make their profit.
26:51So if your design is selling well,
26:52they're going to want to advertise
26:53more of it and just make more money.
26:55So by leaving this turned on,
which it should be by default,
26:58you're just opening
yourself up totally for free
27:00to get more sales from
their marketing efforts.
27:03Now, if you leave this on
and you create your account,
27:05and you decide later on for some reason
27:07that you want to turn this off,
27:08you're still able to turn it off later.
27:09I don't know why you would,
but I just wanna make sure
27:11that you know that that is an option.
27:13So once this is all set,
just hit create my account.
27:15And then quickly just go
check your email in your inbox
27:17and verify your email.
27:19And then once you've done that,
27:20just go back to account and go to log in.
27:22And now we're just going
27:23to log in with our email and password.
27:25So just like that, you have a
seller account on Teepublic.
27:28That's literally how easy this is.
27:29You don't have to pay,
27:30you don't have to have a business set up,
27:32you just need an email
address to get started.
27:34And then you can literally
just go to sell your art,
27:36and it allows you to do one of two things,
27:38you can just upload a single
graphic that we just created,
27:41or if you were on Placeit
27:42and you went through
all of those sub niches
27:44that we picked out and you created
27:45all seven of those designs,
27:46you can upload them all at once
27:48just to make the process faster.
27:49I only have one that we've made here,
27:51so I'll hit single file upload.
27:52And then your first time around,
27:54it's going to ask you to
create a storefront name.
27:56Now, importantly to know
here is that back in the day,
27:59creating a storefront was important
28:01because people would find
you through your storefront.
28:03Now, on these print on demand websites,
28:05especially the three in this tutorial,
28:07the storefront is not very important.
28:09Rather your designs are just going
28:10to show up individually
on the marketplace.
28:12So people are going to
find you from searching
28:14or from the advertising
28:16that these companies are doing for you.
28:17So people are rarely ever going
to see your full storefront.
28:20So you can name this
anything that you want here,
28:22it does not need to be
about the specific niche
28:25that you are creating,
28:26because this is just the first
niche that we're going into.
28:28As you create more designs
in all different niches,
28:31you can keep uploading them
to this same storefront,
28:33again because it can be treated
more as a general store.
28:36So I'm just going to call this
GGTees, Greg Gottfried Tees.
28:40Store name is available, perfect.
28:42Now, take me to the uploader.
28:43So now we've got their upload page,
28:45this is literally where we
need to upload a PNG file.
28:48As I was mentioning before,
28:49when you create your design on Placeit,
28:51you save it to your computer,
28:52it's already saved as a PNG
with a transparent background,
28:55so we don't need to do anything extra.
28:57Just click on this little icon,
28:58and we'll go select that
file off of our computer
29:01and we'll upload it here.
29:02Alright, just give this
a second to upload.
29:04And here is our design right here.
29:05So remember how we had the
transparent background,
29:07that's why we can't really
tell what the design is,
29:09but we know from creating it
that our whole design is there.
29:12But as you scroll down here,
29:13it allows us to put in our
title, our description, our tags,
29:16and it allows us to choose what products
29:18this is going to be
available on, what colors.
29:20And I'll walk you through
all of this real quick.
29:22Now, something that's important
29:23to note here that you might be wondering,
29:24just to try to answer this, it says,
29:26"Your image isn't large enough
to support Wall Art options."
29:29And basically what that
means is that the design
29:31that we created off of
Placeit is not massive,
29:34so it can't be printed on a big wall art.
29:36We are just focusing
on T-shirts or apparel,
29:38so it's just going to print
about the size of a T-shirt,
29:41not the size of entire
wall tapestry or something.
29:44So you can disregard
this message right here,
29:46we are not focused on wall art anyways.
29:48So as we scroll down here,
29:49the first thing we have is our title.
29:51Now, over the years of
doing print on demand,
29:53I have tested many
different title formats,
29:55and what I have found
to be the most efficient
29:57in regards to saving you the most times
29:59that you can get a lot of
these good designs uploaded
30:01and the most effective in
regards to actually having
30:04you show up in these
search results properly
30:06is a very simple formula that I use here.
30:08The first thing that I put in the titles
30:10is the actual phrase that is on the shirt.
30:12So this is going to be
Camping Hair Don't Care.
30:17And then the second part of
the title is going to be,
30:19what is that low competition gap
30:21or that keyword that we want
30:22to show up when people are searching?
30:24So for us, that is camping women.
30:27Now, something to know from
experience for Teepublic
30:29is that you do not need to
actually put T-shirt, or hoodie,
30:32or whatever the clothing item
30:34is at the end of the title here.
30:36Because when you go to
a listing on Teepublic,
30:39whatever style of apparel is selected,
30:41they are going to auto-populate
into the end of your title.
30:44So if someone has a T-shirt selected,
30:46it will add T-shirt at the end here.
30:47So when you go over to
Amazon and RedBubble,
30:49just be sure that you are
actually adding in T-shirt
30:51at the end, but T public,
you don't need to do that.
30:54So that is how you do the titles.
30:55And then to do the description,
just copy all of this.
30:58We will copy it.
30:59Come down here and paste this.
31:01And then a couple modifications.
31:03So just say this with a capital T,
31:05"This camping hair, don't care."
31:07And then put "T-shirt is perfect for."
31:12And then leave what you had
at the end, camping women.
31:15I'm just going to put a period there.
31:17This is going to give us the
same ranking power by keeping
31:19what is on the shirt and who it is for,
31:22and turning that quickly
into a description.
31:24So that's literally it.
31:25That's all you have to do
for title and description
31:27for all of these shirts that you make.
31:29So now a couple other logistics things,
31:31we are going to put in our main tag
31:33and then our supporting tags,
31:34which are basically what else
is relevant to this design.
31:37The first thing,
31:38I would just put in your
general overall niche.
31:40So although this is in
the low competition gap
31:43of women's camping shirts,
I'm going to put in camping.
31:46And the reason
31:47I wanna do that is because
I want this platform
31:48to know that this is a camping shirt,
31:50I don't wanna miss out
on any camping traffic.
31:52So let's just select that
one, and then come down here.
31:54And once you click in on here,
31:56it's going to open up all
of these supporting tags
31:58that it thinks your shirt
might be relevant to as well.
32:01So I'm going to hit nature,
I'm going to hit hiking,
32:04adventure, travel, camp,
camp fire, hike, exploring.
32:10All of these are absolutely
relevant to this design,
32:13so I'm going to select all of them.
32:15What's nice about
Teepublic is it just gives
32:17you all of these ideas that
you can quickly just select.
32:19Teepublic I think has the
best uploading interface
32:22of the three websites, that's
why I wanna show you it here.
32:24Because all of these other
things are also going
32:27to carry over to Merch
by Amazon and RedBubble.
32:29You're doing the same process,
32:31just following their
specific upload interface.
32:33So that is it, we literally
just knocked out the title,
32:36the description, and the tags.
32:37Now, just a quick question,
32:39"Does this have any mature content?"
32:41Hit no here, it is going to be safe
32:43to list on their marketplace
without any restrictions.
32:45I personally don't recommend creating
32:47anything that is really edgy,
32:49or something that has profanity,
32:50or something that's vulgar.
32:51I think that's just going to open you up
32:53to potential problems.
32:54So I would just stay
on the safe side here,
32:56and just create designs kind of like this.
32:58And then as you move along here,
32:59this is going to be what the
actual products look like
33:01in your listing.
33:02So another important
33:04thing here is that we
have a light color design.
33:06This is white text and
generally a light design,
33:08so we can't see that when
it's on a light shirt.
33:11So I'm going to just change
this color to a black.
33:14Now, all of a sudden you can
see what that looks like.
33:16So as a rule of thumb, if you
have a light color design,
33:20you don't want that to be
available on light color shirts,
33:23and the same thing for dark
designs on dark shirts.
33:26Now, what I've changed over
here is just the default color.
33:28So when someone opens up the listing,
33:30what's the first color
33:31that they're going to see the design on?
33:33However, once someone's in your listing,
33:35remember in the beginning
33:35I showed you all of the different colors
33:37you could pick from?
33:38Well, that's all down here.
33:39So I could select all colors,
33:41and then it would be
available on all of these.
33:43But as we just talked
about, it's a light design.
33:45I don't want that on light shirts,
33:47so I'm just going to hit dark colors,
33:49and it's automatically going
33:50to take out all of the light designs
33:51that it may not look good on
33:53and just have the dark ones available.
33:55So all of these will look
good with this design.
33:57Now, this is, again, a really
nice feature to Teepublic,
34:00but when you're on the other websites,
34:01you'll just have to manually pick out
34:03what are those dark colors
you want it available on.
34:05So now that we've got the colors figured
34:06out as to what it's
going to be available on,
34:09a couple quick things here.
34:10So these are all different apparel items
34:12that people could possibly
buy our design on.
34:14We've got a T-shirt, we've got a hoodie,
34:16we've got a tank top, crew neck,
34:17all the different types of shirts
34:19that people could buy this on.
34:20Now, as you are looking through here,
34:21just make sure that your
design fits 100% in here
34:24and nothing is cut off.
34:25So I can tell just by looking at this,
34:27this is slightly cut off on the right.
34:29This doesn't happen every time,
34:30but I'm actually glad that it did
34:31so I can show you how to fix this.
34:32So all you have to do is come into scale
34:35and just make it a tiny bit
smaller, just like that.
34:38And now your design is back, totally fits.
34:40And then just go through the others,
34:41make sure that you have no issues here.
34:43And yeah, we're perfect
all the way through.
34:44So if that ever happens, it
only takes two seconds to fix it
34:47and you're going to be all set.
34:48Now, the other thing,
34:49while we are on this section right here,
34:50is that we've selected that default color,
34:52which is the first one that
people are going to see.
34:54However, if that default
color is not available
34:57in every item that's
here, like a baseball tee,
34:59this baseball tee is only
offered in black and white,
35:02not fully black.
35:03So just select the one that
you want to show up first.
35:05So all of these are
selected, we are good to go.
35:08We've already selected the dark colors,
35:10and now we're coming
down to the last section
35:12before we can actually
publish this listing.
35:14So this section here is,
35:15what other products do
you want to be available
35:17for purchase beyond just apparel?
35:19There are stickers, phone
cases, mugs, wall art, pillows.
35:23And this is something that I've
learned a couple years ago,
35:25and it is absolutely held true.
35:27By far the most sales are going
to come from just T-shirts.
35:30Things like stickers, and
phone cases, and mugs,
35:33they are not going to sell
nearly as much as your apparel.
35:36And the reason that I wanna tell
35:37you that is because if you
select a product like this,
35:40the design is not always
going to fit perfectly.
35:42As you could see, we had to
do a slight tweak on a hoodie
35:45and the other apparel items.
35:46Well, on all of these
different items down here,
35:49you typically have to do
quite heavy modifications
35:51to get it to fit and look perfect on here.
35:53So you're going to be spending
a lot of time figuring out
35:56what fits good, what's
going to be cut off,
35:58and ultimately you're not going
to get many sales from this.
36:00So what I recommend to you,
something that I personally do,
36:03is I literally come in here
and I turn all of these off.
36:06I just wanna focus on the T-shirts,
36:08and I just wanna focus on the apparel,
36:09and I don't wanna be spending
a ton of time modifying
36:12and formatting all of these
if these are not even going
36:14to make up the majority of the sales.
36:15So I recommend doing exactly
what we've done here,
36:18setting it up this way, and
this just excludes all of these
36:21and should save you a lot of time.
36:22So once you've gotten to
here, you literally just hit,
36:24"I have read and agree to
the terms and conditions,"
36:27and then you hit publish.
36:28And literally just like that,
36:30if you've made it this
far in this tutorial
36:32and you followed along,
36:33you are officially a
print on demand seller.
36:35You have a live listing on Teepublic,
36:37everything is exactly
how we uploaded it here.
36:39As you can see what I was saying before,
36:41it auto-populated T-shirt at the end here,
36:43we have our description here.
36:45This is the only place, what
I was mentioning before,
36:47the only place someone could click
36:49and find your storefront.
36:50So if they clicked here,
36:51it would show all of your
different designs you've uploaded.
36:53But it's such a small area,
36:54that's why I don't pay
much attention to it.
36:56All of the dark colors
that you've selected
36:58are all available here.
36:59And then people can
switch the type of shirt
37:01or the different type of apparel
37:02that they want to purchase it on.
37:04Again, they can pick their
size and everything here.
37:05They can literally add it
to the cart, purchase it,
37:07and Teepublic is going to do the printing,
37:09the shipping, the customer service,
37:11we just get a split of the profit.
37:13Now, something else that's important
37:14to know here and you may be wondering,
37:15is that Teepublic sets
all the pricing for you.
37:18It's something that's
really cool that they do.
37:19They run their own promotions,
37:20so they run sales on
the shirts all for you.
37:23So you don't actually set
the price on Teepublic.
37:25When it comes to Merch
by Amazon and RedBubble,
37:28you get to pick how much you
want to sell that shirt for,
37:30and essentially you get
37:31to pick how big your profit margin is.
37:33Generally, I would say
that a good profit margin
37:35for a T-shirt is somewhere
between $2 and $10.
37:38And that's the amount that comes
37:40to you every time you make a sale.
37:42Now, what's cool is that when
someone purchases a hoodie,
37:44which is a more expensive item,
37:45your profit margin might go
up to 15 or $20 on each sale.
37:49And then the last really important
37:50thing to know here while we
are talking about the price,
37:52and payments, and all that,
37:54is that the way you get
paid from these websites
37:56as a print on demand seller
is either through PayPal
37:59or direct deposit.
38:00Merch by Amazon uses direct deposit,
38:02or you can have them mail
you a physical check.
38:04The other websites, they just use PayPal.
38:06Now, all of these websites
38:07are literally just going to
pay you out every single month,
38:10so you don't have to do anything.
38:12Like I said, your paychecks
are just going to come in,
38:14whether you have internet
connection or not.
38:16It's pretty awesome.
38:17But with that being said,
38:17what we just did here is just
a rinse and repeat process
38:21for the other websites.
38:22So I would take this design
that we've just created,
38:24and I would take this title,
this description, the tags,
38:27and I would go upload that to RedBubble,
38:28and then I would go upload
that to Amazon Merch on Demand.
38:31That would be our first design,
38:32we have three listings from it.
38:34And then I would go back and
create the other designs,
38:36and see how many of these I
can start getting uploaded
38:38to those big print on demand websites.
38:39So guys, no matter where
you live in the world,
38:42you can start print on demand.
38:43You do not need to live
in a certain country
38:45or region to do this business model.
38:47And hopefully this tutorial
has been really helpful
38:49in showing you how to do
it from start to finish.
38:52Again, the links to these specific tools
38:53and the coupon codes are
down in the description.
38:56And all I ask is, if
you enjoyed this video,
38:58please give it a thumbs up
38:59and let me know down in the comments.
39:01Alright guys, that is it for this one.
39:02I will see you all in the next video.
