00:04up in November 2023 and you can test it
00:06now so if you can use Luma AI the um
00:09Discord server so it's Luma labs and
00:11it's something called Genie so as you
00:13can see I've got text prompts here um
00:15you know you have to do for SL Genie I
00:17have to be a bit careful because my
00:19screen recording um it stops if I type
00:21in a u um but you can see here Genie to
00:24block modernist High detail for text 4K
00:27text just so you can see the um the kind
00:29of text prompting you know there'll be a
00:31whole culture that starts developed
00:32around you know 3D text prompting for 3D
00:35meshes which are kind of different to
00:37the 2D things so if you know about 3D
00:39Graphics you know You' got things like
00:41I've got things like high detail 4K
00:42texture so this will obviously develop
00:45and these buildings are pretty cool so
00:47if I um if I perhaps click on one I I
00:50can actually refine one but I'm not sure
00:53I did it earlier but it must be down
00:54here I'm not going to waste time doing
00:55that oh looks almost made a beetle
00:57that's pretty good um so you can see how
01:00how much time this is going to perhaps
01:02save but you can see that the meshes are
01:04quite mushy so if I click on four that's
01:06um I got a newsletter from Andrew price
01:08so he's obviously into this now um the
01:10blender Guru and it's a really good word
01:12to describe the mches as kind of mushy
01:15but obviously we can refine them and if
01:16you know some 3D that's going to help as
01:18well um look at some stuff I did earlier
01:21so this is a great white shark and what
01:23I'm interested in is getting the shape
01:25of great white shark at the moment and
01:26printing out very very rough 3D print or
01:29even just sliced um planes so I can
01:32develop a kind of sculptural template
01:34for something I'm working working on in
01:36clay my 3D print is a bit bust at the
01:39moment the plug's messed up I might have
01:40to get a new 3D printer so you you don't
01:43always need to do a 3D printer to get 3D
01:45things in the real world you can sort of
01:46slice it and then just cut out card and
01:49make a maette like that as a reference
01:51here's an orca whale this the dimensions
01:53on of this a bit off but it's still
01:55usable um all you do is just um to get
01:58download it so when I checked this last
02:00night okay this is just preview I can't
02:02really I can't um download anything but
02:05what you have to do is you have to go
02:07click on to the um one of the um numbers
02:10and then you just download it and it's a
02:13glb file let's go to blender the 3D
02:16package that I'm using for today um and
02:20obviously you can export it in whatever
02:213D software you're using um as long as
02:24it it's compatible with glb which should
02:26be so I'm going to go to glb there and
02:30you can see that I've got the shark and
02:32the Ora so let's have a look at the Ora
02:34so the Ora dimensions are not that good
02:36but obviously you know skills as a 3D
02:39person still going to be very useful you
02:43can go to the that elastic to form and
02:46then you can sort of push it around
02:48especially if you bring in like an image
02:49of an orcha diagram in the background to
02:52get it more accurate I'm not going to
02:53bring the image in because you know of
02:57um so that's good but the the the great
03:00white seems quite accurate so let's just
03:02hide the um let's just hide the or and
03:05let's just have the look at the great
03:08white seems to have a link there don't
03:12anyway let's not bother about that I'm
03:14just going to look at the topology so
03:15I'm going to go to edit mode and you can
03:17see the topology is very I just had a
03:19modifier on that you can see the the
03:21topology is very um almost like it's
03:24photogrammetry um the actual structure
03:26of it is okay that thin looks a bit fat
03:28for a shark and there's these weird
03:30things there but obviously we can adjust
03:33all this um in a minute but the first
03:35Port of call when you've got messy
03:37meeses either photogrametry or AI or
03:40whatever um you want to go to edit mode
03:43or whatever you're using 3D and and in
03:47blender it's merged by distance so you
03:48want to get make sure that you're going
03:49to merge very very slightly got
03:53.001 um any kind of doubles because if
03:56what it does is it collect so say for
03:58example this vertex there may two
04:00vertexes in the same place and that
04:01means that the mesh you know the surface
04:04of this may not be joined together and
04:05that's going to create problems when we
04:07sort of retopologize it and things so
04:09that's the first thing to do um okay
04:11let's go to Dev and have a look so it's
04:15quite lumpy bumpy so what we can do is
04:17obviously we can use sculpt mode and you
04:20know smooth things and get rid of things
04:22so that's a good way to do it in a
04:25refined way but we can also do a sort of
04:27smooth the whole lot and let's go to
04:30about 1.6 and give it say three
04:33iterations and that smoothed it somewhat
04:36as well um like that and um yeah that's
04:39that's okay so there's a lot of things
04:41obviously you can do so this is amazing
04:43really you know I mean take making sh
04:45this would take ages the one thing
04:46though is the topology on it is a bit
04:49not good but we'll look at that in a
04:50minute firstly I'm going to have a look
04:52at the UV map on it like the other um AI
04:573D prompts that I've been looking at so
04:59so again I'm going to go to edit mode it
05:01looks the similar kind of thing must be
05:03using similar kinds of technology so the
05:05it's all split into kind of islands and
05:08um yeah that that's kind of okay it's
05:10not it's not the most logical way to do
05:13things but obviously we can retexture
05:15this we can obviously use this as a
05:16guide with the colors and we can take it
05:17into something like substance painter
05:19and retexture it um but we probably want
05:22to also if we're going to retexture it
05:24it's going to get rid of the texture so
05:26we want to retopologize this so what
05:27I'll do is I'll go to seven and which is
05:29the top view point in blender and I'll
05:32just do shift and d and and duplicate it
05:35so whenever I retopologize things I
05:37usually make a duplicate so I still got
05:38the original um a lot of Learners that I
05:41shoter always forget to do that and then
05:43they have to sort of
05:44undo and what I'm going to do is I'm
05:46going to go to quad remesh which is an
05:48add-on and um I'll just leave it on the
05:50generic settings like 5,000 and I'm
05:53it doesn't take too long because it's
06:04so what this does is it automatically
06:06cleans up the mesh makes it gives it
06:09better topology look so the flow so now
06:11these lines are going or you know these
06:13are nice kind of flow of lines to make
06:15it easier to edit for example adding
06:17loops and things so if I go here and ALT
06:20and click on my mouse it's um yeah the
06:22Loop's going all the way around actually
06:25and is it I think it's symmetrical Loop
06:28sometimes when you've retopologized summ
06:30the the loop spirals cuz it's not done
06:32it but I think that's that's actually
06:34works that's pretty good actually um if
06:37we go to the top view and go to edit
06:39mode it's the the shark isn't
06:43symmetrical okay um so what you could do
06:47is you could delete half of it and
06:48mirror it and then go from there and
06:49then re you know rejoin it retopologize
06:51it and stuff like that and then
06:53obviously you can because the texture
06:55has being been destroyed then you can
06:56use destructive sculpting which
06:58basically is is when we add in blender
07:01we add D topper one and we can actually
07:04make it much more detailed CU it you
07:06know D toop whoops Diner adds meshes on
07:10you know adds more detail onto the mesh
07:11depending on the setting you've got um
07:14so if you can take that down you can
07:16make that give it more detail so now if
07:17I go I mean I know it's rubbish but if
07:19now we go there see it's it's made it's
07:21given more detail there and then
07:22obviously you can R apologize it again
07:24using things like quadrant measure so
07:27there's a lot of possibilities it's
07:28pretty amazing isn't it I mean before
07:30this making a shark like this would take
07:32ages even though it's not um amazing
07:34shark you know we can develop it further
07:37and um yeah and it's free at the moment
07:39November I think it's test stage so
