01:01 hours Rob yeah as you pointed out on the

01:03 radar we're beginning to see the rain

01:05 increase around the Bay Area and tonight

01:06 we'll see the chance of some isolated

01:08 thunderstorms but the main event will be

01:10 during the day tomorrow strong winds

01:12 damaging wind gusts possible enough to

01:14 bring down trees impact power lines and

01:17 power outages around the Bay Area and a

01:19 Bay Area Wide flood watch that will take

01:21 us all the way into Monday morning but

01:23 first up the wind this is what's going

01:25 to be unique about this storm system is

01:27 the potential by tomorrow morning to be

01:29 looking at more than 50 mph gusts even

01:31 around San Jose and higher than 50 mph

01:34 at times around the coast that is going

01:36 to be from the morning all the way till

01:38 tomorrow evening long duration strong

01:41 wind event again that could have tree

01:42 and power impacts as you go through the

01:44 day and then by Sunday night until

01:46 Monday wind speeds do start to come down

01:53 very unique about this storm is that the

01:56 Storm Center is heading towards

01:58 California so moving forward the onew

02:02 flood watches that'll be up around the

02:04 Bay Area into Monday morning now do

02:06 include the potential of river flooding

02:09 around the Guadalupe River at aladen by

02:11 tomorrow morning could see those levels

02:13 rise to 11.6 feet moderate flood stage

02:16 might impact Alma Avenue Bridge Northern

02:18 cross and Thousand Oaks Park also the

02:21 San Lorenzo River and the Santa Cruz

02:23 mountains could see flood stage later

02:25 tomorrow morning impacting Felton Grove

02:27 and Paradise Park as you can see here it

02:30 is the Santa Cruz mountains that'll have

03:08 they know which is which areas have had

03:10 issues in the past and they've been

03:12 doing their part today as a

03:15 precaution I just put it in Rich toris

03:18 knows what the heavy rain in the North

03:20 Bay can do when we had that burst the

03:23 other day oh gosh the whole street

03:27 became a small River he was out today

03:29 putting up protection in front of his

03:30 garage in San anelo ahead of the next

03:33 storm I put sandbags down on top of the

03:36 VIS Queen and that helps the leeching of

03:40 some sand and the muddiness of it and it

03:43 just keeps it as a barrier nearby the

03:46 town sandbag area is set up for

03:48 residents and businesses who need it

03:50 that's part of the rain suit gear uh

03:51 setup that we have over at Goodman

03:53 Building Supply in mil Valley they're

03:55 stocked up and ready for customers who

03:57 know what they want right now they're

03:59 buying buy tarps they buying sandbags um

04:02 they're buying Sun Pumps um rain suits

04:05 and stuff like that so PG sees another

04:08 intense storm hitting our surface area

04:10 this time really our entire service area

04:13 from the top of the north Co North Coast

04:15 all the way down south Megan McFarland

04:17 is a spokesperson for pg& and says the

04:20 utility is preparing for the storm using

04:22 technology to determine where the storm

04:25 will hit the hardest and then we're

04:26 bringing Crews from the less impacted

04:28 areas into the very hard hit areas so

04:31 that we can make repairs more

04:32 efficiently another thing that we're

04:34 doing is pre-staging equipment uh at

04:37 some of our hard- hit yards that stuff

04:39 like Transformers wires poles um

04:42 equipment that's often damaged during

04:44 storm so this way the equipment is ready

04:45 to go and our crews can get out there

04:47 quickly um and make repairs when they

04:49 have a chance to do

04:52 so and a number of people we spoke with

04:55 today said that their plan for today was

04:57 to get everything done early because

05:00 their plan for tomorrow was to stay home

05:13 center ahead of this next storm that

05:15 will allow the department to deploy

05:17 Crews if needed the state has also

05:19 stockpiled resources to deal with issues

05:22 that may come along with a heavy rain

05:24 nearly 5 million sandbags are positioned

05:27 at 64 locations across the state and

05:29 more than 62,000 are Super Sacks and

05:32 they are at the ready in case of Levy

05:34 breaches last winter we saw several

05:36 major Levy breaches including one in the

05:38 community of paharo um it's important to

05:41 remember that uh local flood control

05:43 districts do Patrol levies 24 hours uh

05:47 during the day and the night to identify

05:50 potential trouble uh locations and they

05:52 report those to our flood Operation

05:54 Center and that enables us to work with

05:56 our federal colleagues to deploy those

05:58 resources the dwr anticipates five

06:01 rivers to meet flood stage including the

06:03 Russian River in mosino County the

06:06 carmell river in montere County the guad

06:08 Lupe River in Santa Clara County and two

06:10 rivers in Southern California yeah and

06:12 officials are also urging people if you

06:15 can stay away from beaches over the next

06:17 couple of days a high surf advisory is

06:19 set to take effect early tomorrow

06:21 morning this is what it looked like

06:22 today in Pacifica you can see the waves

06:24 crashing on that beach and then in the

06:27 Sierra drivers are rushing to get over

06:29 the Sun before the snow starts to fall

06:31 this is what it looked like on I80 at

06:32 Donner Summit just over an hour ago you

06:34 can see right there roads mostly dry

06:36 right now and here's a look at Highway

06:38 50 at Meyers the roads are wet but all

06:42 of that will change CHP is warning that
