00:12can't find any of these things in the
00:14Dominican Republic I just haven't been
00:16able to but we don't have a car so it's
00:18harder for us to get around I put these
00:21in order from most used to least
00:33hello living in the Dominican Republic
00:36for the past four years and being
00:38married to someone who is dominan has
00:40helped me with my hoarding tendencies
00:44because when I moved here every time I
00:47came I would bring so much stuff and I
00:50realized it was just such a waste why do
00:52I need all this stuff and it would just
00:53sit in the closet and just not get used
00:57so we gave so much away recently it
00:59feels so good to get rid of stuff living
01:01in the Dominican Republic has definitely
01:05me buy things and make purchases that
01:09intentional because I want to get things
01:12that I will actually use almost every
01:15day number one is an insulated water
01:17bottle insulated because it is very hot
01:20here it's the Dominican Republic and I
01:22like drinking cold water we have a huge
01:25one for the gym and then smaller ones
01:28just for day-to-day use
01:31I have not been able to find an
01:33insulated water bottle in the Dominican
01:35Republic and the water bottles they do
01:36have in the capital are very expensive
01:39like $30 and it's not even insulated or
01:42vacuum sealed or anything so the ones we
01:45have keep ice cold for hours and we love
01:49them number two is a mosquito killer
01:52which is my number one but I couldn't
01:54put it number one because water is
01:56obviously more important than killing
01:58mosquitoes I guess but to
02:01me that is the most important because
02:04mosquitoes are everywhere I'm highly
02:06allergic to them I swell every time they
02:10bite me it hurts so bad so we have one
02:13we keep it in our apartment and I use it
02:16regularly but lately is not mosquito
02:18season so I haven't had to kill any
02:21lately number three is hats and more
02:24hats I baseball hats sun hats hats for
02:27the beach um these kind of hats I have a
02:31lot of these they are special for the
02:33sun because Normal hats do not protect
02:35me from the Sun I will get burned
02:38through the hat so I have a lot of
02:40special Sun ones that I just found on
02:42Amazon my husband wears hats a lot too
02:45it's very sunny here and a lot of people
02:48when they're on motorcycles they just
02:50cover their whole entire face with their
02:52Hood I just prefer to wear hat number
02:55four is a neck fan which I just got this
02:58past summer I cannot believe I went 2
03:01years almost 3 years without a neck fan
03:05I don't know how I survived it was the
03:07best $20 I've spent in a long time I got
03:10one for me and Mariano even on the
03:13lowest setting it is so helpful and it
03:16cools my whole body down because if my
03:18neck is cool my whole body is cool I
03:21don't know why science I guess number
03:24five is a sun umbrella I use this when
03:27I'm walking it is a special umbrella
03:30again I burn with normal umbrellas it
03:34blocks the Sun so well I had one for 3
03:38years and then it rusted and broke just
03:40from the humidity so I just got a brand
03:42new one hopefully this will last me a
03:45while but I use it to walk home from
03:47school it provides a decent amount of
03:50shade I can feel the difference also
03:53it's not weird to carry an umbrella
03:56around because women do it all the time
03:58I am not the the only one who uses an
04:01umbrella to avoid the sunun when I'm
04:03walking down the street even though it's
04:05not raining umbrellas are very common
04:08number six is a portable charger we use
04:11them a lot because the power goes out we
04:14also use them just if we go on trips for
04:16the day and our phone won't last the
04:18whole day then we'll bring them with us
04:21this is our smallest one it does not
04:24last very long but it's easy to carry
04:27then we have ones that are these size
04:29these last a good amount of time we
04:31really like them we have two of those
04:33ones and we have a really big one that
04:35is in a case this is for the laptop it
04:40did power a small fan too we used to
04:43have a really small fan and when the
04:44power would go out it
04:45would give energy to the fan for about
04:50but this is very good too we also plug
04:53in the Wi-Fi because when the power goes
04:56out the Wi-Fi isn't lost it's just just
04:59the router loses power so we plug our
05:02router into here and then we still have
05:03Wi-Fi even though the power is out which
05:06is helpful if we're working online and
05:08along with the portable chargers we got
05:10fast charging cables and fast charging
05:13plugs to like connect it to because I
05:16don't know what was up with our cables I
05:18don't know if we left them connected
05:19into the wall when there was a power
05:21surge and they got damaged or what but
05:23cords get damaged really fast so we just
05:28got a bunch of those which was very
05:29helpful and we also have surge
05:31protectors so everything we have we plug
05:34into a surge protector to make sure it
05:37damaged the electricity doesn't go out
05:40that much in our apartment but we do get
05:42power surges and they damage our
05:44Electronics we had Christmas lights that
05:47we left plugged in and those got damaged
05:50during a power surge so yeah just keep
05:52that in mind number seven is a
05:54flashlight because again the power goes
05:56out not that often but it depends where
05:58you live where we live where close to
06:00the police station the police station
06:02almost always has power but other
06:04neighborhoods in Sam Pedro lose power a
06:06lot more than we do we have a big one
06:09that's very bright we use it for when
06:11the power goes out we ordered it on
06:13Amazon the first time they sent us a
06:15really good one then I clicked the link
06:17to order it again and the second version
06:19is not the same as the first version it
06:21is not as bright it's still good it's
06:24just a lot dimmer but they are
06:26rechargeable which is very helpful
06:29because batteries are kind of expensive
06:31and they don't last very long it's also
06:33very humid so that means batteries if
06:36they're in the open or if they're in the
06:38flashlight they start like oozing and
06:41that's how we lost our camera we used to
06:43have a camera and the batteries inside
06:46of it it was so hot and humid that over
06:48time the batteries just leaked and
06:51damaged our camera so rechargeable
06:54flashlight it's much better than a
06:56battery operated one for us number eight
06:59I just got Bluetooth headphones Mariano
07:02had his for a long time but my mom got
07:04me some for Christmas and I wear them to
07:08the gym sometimes I walk to the gym and
07:11it is the Dominican Republic so there
07:13are a lot of guys who just kind of sit
07:16on the street and say things when women
07:18pass by so the Bluetooth headphones have
07:22been fantastic because I can't hear them
07:26and they won't talk to me because they
07:29know know why I can't hear them so that
07:31has helped make my walks a lot more
07:33enjoyable and a lot more peaceful cuz
07:35that was starting to get to me but now I
07:37just wear my earbuds and no one bothers
07:39me number nine is the bags from
07:42Marshalls they're tote bags I guess but
07:45they're big and we use them for
07:47groceries every week because we have a
07:50motorcycle so we have to put all our
07:51groceries together on the front of the
07:53motorcycle so it's been very helpful for
07:55that we use them when we go to the beach
07:58we use them when our washer is broken or
08:03we don't have water and we have to go do
08:05laundry somewhere else we just put all
08:06our laundry in the bag and carry it so
08:09they have many purposes I'm glad I
08:12brought those with me we used those a
08:14ton and finally number 10 this is
08:17something that I made it until 2023 to
08:20get I got a pair for me and Mariano but
08:25Crocs I don't know how I feel about them
08:28I don't know if they're coming aable
08:30really but I wear them all the time
08:33around the house and to go do the
08:37laundry outside to hang
08:39clothes um just to walk around outside
08:42also when it rains it's very helpful to
08:45have them because it is way too hot to
08:47wear rain boots fullon rain boots my
08:49feet would be sweating so bad so we wear
08:51Crocs when it rains if we're running to
08:54the comato down the street and we don't
08:56really want to put shoes on we just put
08:57our Crocs on and go do that they're very
09:01helpful I don't know if I like
09:04them but they have much purpose they're
09:07also really easy to clean yeah I think
09:09that's it for personal items that we use
09:11every single day I can't think of
09:13else I mean other than like napkins I
09:18use napkins every hour to wipe the sweat
09:21off my face but other than that I think
09:24that's about it so if you are in the
09:26Dominican Republic or you're somewhere
09:28warm and humid and there's something
09:30else that you use every day that is very
09:32helpful or it makes your life easier let
