00:09hi I'm tuna currently D now I've been
00:13studying Chinese at ncku Chinese
00:15language Center for 6 months now I was
00:18planning to shoot this video when I
00:19first came here but it kind of took me a
00:23while to get used to living abroad but I
00:26think I got enough data right now to
00:30experiences and last year when I was um
00:34when I was applying for the scholarship
00:36for the ha enrich scholarship I checked
00:40out YouTube for some inspo and I
00:42couldn't find any so I wanted to shoot a
00:46video like this to help those who are
00:49also planing to come
00:51here yeah um so I want to start with how
00:57they determine your level before you
00:59come here they sent you an um online
01:02test and after you send it like they try
01:07prediction and you basically start from
01:10that level when you come here the levels
01:13go from a to I I guess I started from C
01:18then I just finished the D band The D
01:21level and every level takes three months
01:25but in the first week you can like see
01:28if that that will fits you or not and
01:31then you can have an oral test to change
01:34your level so every levels have
01:38different classes we have five classes
01:42in every level the first one is the main
01:44one is the sh band like you have it
01:47every day and then there are elective
01:50classes um there are different elective
01:52classes for each level in the seaband I
01:58pronunciation what else
02:02pronunciation vocabulary and there was
02:05calligraphy it's it's a cultural
02:07elective like there are more options but
02:09I chose um calligraphy in dban we had
02:13grammar we had vocabulary um spoken
02:17Chinese and then I chose Chinese
02:20painting um according to Hawaii
02:24scholarship you need to have 15 15 hours
02:28of classes every week in total we had I
02:32guess 17 hours so it meets that
02:35requirement um I want to talk about the
02:38grading because it's going to be
02:40important for you uh to keep your
02:42scholarship um your your grade your
02:46average grade needs to be um over
02:5080 if not the next semester you won't be
02:54able to get your scholarship for one
02:56month so the grades they're going to be
02:59important important for you but I want
03:00to talk about how they like how they
03:03grade we had midterms we had finals but
03:06apart from that we get a lot of
03:09homeworks like every day you will have
03:13homework the homeworks they will take
03:16you a lot of time and depending on the
03:20level you will have bouts presentations
03:23in the C band we almost had it every
03:27week in dban we also had it every week
03:31so like we do a lot of presentations I
03:34had social anxiety before coming here
03:36but I did so much presentations and I
04:19yeah that's the intensity of our
04:22presentations you have a final
04:24presentation your attendance is also
04:27very important need to be active in the
04:30class you need to talk to your T these
04:32are all going to be important for your
04:35grade but the teachers are very friendly
04:40so I didn't get stressed during the
04:43classes the atmosphere is very good yeah
04:46I like the classes so it's not like the
04:48classes that I had in my country so it
04:52School apart from the
04:55classes we had a lot of activities like
04:58we had a guessing competition between
05:01classes they host one competition every
05:22semester so we have activities like that
05:26and then we also have field
05:28activities make sure to attend them
05:31because I think they are fun you get a
05:33lot of you gain a lot of friends there
05:35you get to know your
05:37T um what about the payments so every
05:42quarter have different tuition for
05:45example the Spring quarter Cur it must
05:52NDS but the winter the summer quarter
05:55it's 29,000 nvs the Autumn quarter is
06:04nvs but the Winter quarter is 29,000
06:08entities when I first came here I asked
06:11them if I could make the payments in
06:14installments they said yes so when I got
06:17my first scholarship first payment I
06:20paid the first installment so this stuff
06:27accommodation the NC
06:30staff they the CLC staff they provide
06:34you with some options like you can say
06:37in the school's main door but because
06:40the University students also um apply
06:43for that so it's kind of difficult to
06:45get to there and then there's Paragon I
06:48live there the CLC has an agreement with
06:50them so it's kind of cheap it's cheaper
06:565,300 every month and also the
06:59electricity but other stuff like
07:02internet and the water all included the
07:06good yeah I live there I've been living
07:09there for 6 months now and I didn't
07:11encounter any problems the CC building
07:15is located in the kwangu campus ncku is
07:19it's very big the nature here it's just
08:31lastly I also want to talk about my own
08:34experience um studying at ncku really
08:37helped my Chinese to
08:40improve it's been really intense to be
08:42honest and when I first came I
08:47some challenges related to not Taiwan
08:52not n but being abroad living abroad for
08:56time like I can see the Improvement but
08:59you know know Chinese is hard yeah there
09:01are a lot of homeworks a lot of
09:03presentations and stuff but if you're
09:05learning Chinese you probably know that
09:07Chinese is difficult and you need to
09:10time um so it's been kind of challenging
09:13but I am happy with my decision to come
09:21ncku I am actually moving to another
09:24city tomorrow taong I wanted to continue
09:29so I will also shoot some videos in Tai
09:33Jon so I will try to um introduce taian
09:37to you so make sure to follow
