00:02midbury Indiana at The Coachman Catalina
00:05Factory we're going to take a look at
00:07this really really cool new floor plan
00:09from the folks over at Catalina this
00:11thing is super cool this is a legacy
00:12edition if you looked at the thumbnail
00:14you probably already kind of see what's
00:16going on over here very very cool setup
00:19let's take a close look at this thing
00:20hang tight I'll be right back
00:31okay so starting up front and then we'll
00:33work our way back I don't have the
00:35weight sticker on this unit yet so I
00:36can't provide that to you this rides on
00:38a b frame one of the big Perks Of The B
00:41nxg frame is the fact that it's all Huck
00:43bolted together so there is some welding
00:46where the A-frame meets the mounting
00:48brackets and there's some welding going
00:49on here of course but the vast majority
00:51of the components are actually bolted
00:53together versus welded together and they
00:55claim that it's a significantly stronger
00:57frame because of that so that's what
00:59they uh they say about it it has a b LS
01:015.3 Auto leveling system up front you
01:04have a spot for two 20 lb propane cans
01:06right here you could fit two batteries
01:07down here pretty easily I love the front
01:10nose I love that dark look to it really
01:13looks nice for a stick and Tin unit this
01:16just really stands out it's super bold
01:17especially when we get to the back and
01:19you see what they're doing back there
01:21you can see again your auto leveling
01:25here your front pass through
01:28storage as well as your go power power
01:3030 amp solar charge controller so this
01:32does have solar on the roof this has
01:34what they call the Catalina power
01:36package you have your large awning right
01:38here with LED light strip underneath it
01:41this is going to be the 283 epic has JBL
01:44sound system go power solar on it as
01:47well I don't know exactly how much power
01:48is on it does have your connections here
01:51for TV for your TV and you can have your
01:53cable there as well JBL speakers on the
01:56outside that's really nice you typically
01:57see cheap speakers and they put a JBL
01:59sound system all the way around outside
02:01of your furnace outside of your water
02:04heater underneath it has Rainer ST tires
02:07so these aren't what I would consider to
02:09be horrible tires but they're not what I
02:11would consider to be great tires I would
02:12prefer to see like a Goodyear tire on
02:14here um but these rain ear come on a lot
02:16of cargo trailers and quite frankly they
02:19hold up pretty well they're not like I
02:20said horrible tires you can see how
02:22everything's Huck bolted here does not
02:24have an upgraded suspension equalizer or
02:27greaseable wet bolts and a heavy duty
02:29shackle straps I do wish they'd put them
02:30on here I wish they'd put those on every
02:32single trailer built I just wish it was
02:34an upgrade that you would see on all of
02:36them the back Auto leveling leg now
02:38right here is where things get really
02:40really special and as we walk to the
02:45out this is crazy you have this huge
02:48window right here the whole back is
02:50pretty much windows and then you have
02:52another huge window on the other side
02:54when we go in the back you're going to
02:55see what's going on this is absolutely
02:57nuts plus you have this back patio
03:01with a nice covered area another JBL
03:03speaker nice and covered you have two
03:06gutters up here that's kind of
03:08interesting and then two gutters on the
03:09other side all LED lighting back here I
03:13believe yes it is all LED lighting you
03:16have your moride step above step to take
03:18you up to the back as well as one for
03:20the main entry over there so you know
03:22what let's uh let's go up the back right
03:24here and see what it's all
03:30so stepping up into the back patio of
03:32this unit let me go inside that I'm
03:34going to quickly swing around so you see
03:37the big window right here see the big
03:44here all right now we're inside looking
03:47out so again you got this big patio
03:49right here that is covered with speakers
03:52and lights or a speaker and two lights
03:54you have a big sliding door right here
03:56and a screen door which is really cool
03:58and then you have these enormous Windows
04:00right here now when they built these
04:03they didn't specifically have a window
04:06this big so they used a sliding door and
04:09then they simply sealed it together so
04:11you have brackets to hold it so these
04:13don't open these aren't meant to open um
04:16I actually even saw if they could remove
04:18those brackets if you could open them if
04:19you wanted to and that's possible I
04:21suppose but they are not designed to be
04:24opened even though they are on a sliding
04:26track so I'm just hinting that you know
04:28if you really really wanted to open
04:30these you could probably experiment with
04:31them and figure a way to do so but
04:34apparently there is sealant that you
04:35would have to break free so that is cool
04:38I mean check this out when I spoke with
04:41the uh the general manager out here he
04:43basically said I wanted a unit that when
04:46you go camping you are surrounded by
04:48Nature he's a camper and he said I
04:50remember growing up you wanted to be out
04:52there with nature just check out this
04:54space now some of you may have noticed
04:57something that was on the ceiling not
05:00the air conditioner but the Samsung
05:02projector so check this out they install
05:05a projector up here and on this side you
05:08have a screen that actually pulls down
05:12so if you want to turn this into movie
05:14night you can really turn it into movie
05:17night you can block this window
05:18completely you have some curtains to
05:20block that window there as well as the
05:22back window and you can have a really
05:24nice cozy kind of secluded space if you
05:26want it so that is really really cool up
05:29top is a GE air conditioner and they
05:31actually will have this air conditioning
05:33system with heat pump automatically on
05:35these units so that is awesome as well
05:37so you don't need to run your
05:39furnace you can see some of your ducting
05:42so this is a direct dump air conditioner
05:44and right here you're going to see your
05:45second AC unit which is ducted this is
05:47also a GE air conditioning
05:50unit as we pan around and look inside of
05:52the kitchen space this is a good siiz
05:55kitchen dinette area so you have your
05:57living room space right here and then
06:00you have a dinette which can turn into a
06:02bed underneath you have storage as well
06:05and then you have some baskets under
06:06there with some additional storage under
06:08the seating area this is a huge dinette
06:10I love that it's wrapped around and you
06:12could easily drop that down and have a
06:14nice sleeping area for the kids and it's
06:16pretty dang long too this style of
06:18dinette is going to give you the most
06:19space when you convert it into a bed
06:21plus you have another huge window right
06:23here another window over here and it
06:26just looks really nice tons of light
06:28coming into this unit if you are sitting
06:30here eating breakfast you have all of
06:33this light you have so much visibility
06:35especially if you're parked next to
06:36something very Scenic so I love what
06:38they've done here moving into the
06:40kitchen thermofoil countertops be
06:43careful not to put anything super hot on
06:45these they're relatively durable just
06:47keep in mind that this isn't what I
06:48would consider to be like a solid
06:49surface countertop like a Coran or a
06:51granite or quartz so you can damage
06:53these if you're not careful other than
06:55that they're relatively reliable but if
06:58you're in an area with extreme heat and
06:59humidity you know it's not going to be
07:01the most durable in the long run and
07:03these are things that I'm also talking
07:05to them about so they're aware of but
07:06it's not a bad material I have it in the
07:08surveyor it works well the main thing
07:10you're going to want to keep an eye on
07:11is the humidity content in your RV so
07:14trying to keep your RV you know
07:15dehumidified is going to help just like
07:17you would in your home or anywhere else
07:19water and humidity can cause damage you
07:22have drawers in here wow they put a
07:24divider I did not expect that so you
07:26have three drawers I love seeing drawers
07:28in a kitchen in an RV if there aren't
07:30drawers I don't even really consider it
07:32a kitchen you have to have some type of
07:33a drawer I love the fact that they put
07:35the little little uh glass washer right
07:38here nice little straining rack for the
07:41top of your sink it is a plastic sink
07:43but they do give you a nice upgraded
07:45faucet here that extends out and has a
07:48it up here you can see that they equip
07:53Appliances have some Cabinetry I wasn't
07:55expecting a shelf in there so they give
07:57you a little bit more storage capability
07:58in there where you can put like glasses
08:00and plates things like that which is
08:03nice coming around we have our compact
08:09here beneath it you have a three burner
08:11gas cooktop a nice compact oven great
08:14for cookies or a pie you have your GE
08:1812vt refrigerator here as well with
08:21freezer on top big fan of this setup
08:24it's nice and lockable as well so
08:26whenever you're traveling the doors
08:27aren't going to open no carpet in this
08:29unit it at all you have your heat vents
08:32here in the bottom some people like it
08:34some people don't if you're in it for
08:36the Cosmetic aspect you might not like
08:37it but if you're looking for heating
08:39efficiency you probably do like it I
08:42love what they're doing up here as well
08:43so typically you see tons of Staples
08:46that hold these on but instead of
08:48Staples they're using a very very strong
08:49construction adhesive now that really
08:52makes things look clean so you don't
08:53have like all these staples everywhere
08:55like you typically see on the trim work
09:00let's see what the blinds look like so
09:03this has standard pleated blinds it's a
09:06nice dark blind though but I would have
09:08preferred like a roller shade here like
09:10a dark roller shade but in a unit like
09:12this where everything you're trying to
09:14focus on is the amount of light you can
09:16get into this unit might not be needed
09:19folks got your pantry right here huge
09:22shelves I do wish that these were
09:24adjustable that would have been really
09:25nice to have some adjustability to these
09:27shelves maybe not even quite as maybe if
09:29they went to like here and then they
09:31gave you some like some hanging areas
09:34right here or a spot for like a broom or
09:35a mop things like that that might have
09:37been a little bit more space because
09:38this thing is super deep it's probably
09:41all of 2T deep and that's a lot of
09:46space over here are your cabinets so you
09:48have more storage right here as well you
09:50have some storage on top with some power
09:55also your thermostats right here you
09:57have another power spot right here so
09:59this unit is loaded with power outlets
10:02that's typically something you don't see
10:03in a lot of RVs and uh you kind of have
10:06to hunt for them sometimes but if you
10:08have a vacuum you could easily plug it
10:09in right there if you have a clock or
10:12something else you want to put right
10:13here you probably could not an ideal
10:14spot for a coffee maker that's a better
10:17spot for a coffee maker right there and
10:19you got power right above it
10:20also you have a nice little backsplash
10:23right here um I feel like they should
10:26have wrapped it around a little bit made
10:28it a little bit more Di
10:31dimensional working our way to the
10:35bathroom so right here you have your
10:37bathroom it is a pass through bathroom
10:39to get to the bedroom you got your
10:43plastic toilet right here it is a foot
10:45toilet got some space right here for
10:50toiletries on this side you have more
10:52cabinet space underneath your sink
10:57sink nice size medine cabinet with the
11:00mirror on it then you have your cornered
11:02shower right here it's a reasonable size
11:05shower good head height in here as well
11:06this is probably all of I'm guessing
11:09close to 7 ft so you could be relatively
11:11tall in this unit and have plenty of
11:14space coming into the master bedroom
11:16queen-size bed plenty of room on the
11:19ends these are huge nightstands and this
11:21is essentially the area above the pass
11:23through storage you got power and USB on
11:27sides under the bed got a good amount of
11:30storage under here as well and that's
11:32boxed off around that pass through
11:34again looks like you have mirrors on
11:39doors good amount of storage here
11:42also got some cabinets up top it kind of
11:45passes through right there I probably
11:47would have suggested to put another
11:49cabinet door right here or maybe even
11:53style that way you can utilize that
11:55space a little bit more better a little
11:57bit more conveniently
12:01more storage there as well this is cool
12:04what do you guys think I like the
12:07interior this is awesome especially if
12:09you again have a piece of property that
12:11you're going to be wanting to really set
12:13something up so you can see the scenery
12:15if you're parked next to a lake if
12:16you're parked you know in an area where
12:18there's tons of beautiful scenery around
12:20you this is really cool and this I
12:22believe is the first time they've done
12:24this floor plan with an actual travel
12:26trailer every time they've made a floor
12:28plan like this with the back patio it's
12:30been a destination style trailer and
12:32that's the big difference here
12:33destination trailers are typically meant
12:35to be taken somewhere and kind of left
12:37there for a long time a travel trailer
12:39is something you can travel around with
12:41something you can take with you and this
12:42is really cool which means you could use
12:45this more in more areas to camp in
12:48versus something that again is kind of
12:50designed to be left somewhere but what's
12:52nice about this is even though you have
12:53all these windows right here which I
12:55know a lot of people are going to be you
12:56know curious about the amount of heat
12:58that comes in you have a direct dump AC
13:01directly above it that's awesome which
13:03means you can get cool air on you to
13:05cool this space down even though you're
13:07likely going to have heat coming in from
13:08One Direction or another from the Sun
13:10but what do you guys think this is a
13:12really really cool RV I'm a big fan of
13:16these and there's a lot of them that are
13:18now hitting the market and everyone's
13:19trying to do it in their own unique way
13:21do things a little bit differently I
13:23like what they've done here I like some
13:25of the Innovation they've put into it
13:26and I love the living space because it's
13:28super cozy you got your bar stools right
13:30here you got a little area or ledge so
13:32you can work and do homework or whatever
13:34you need to do with the kiddos you got a
13:36nice size dinette plus you have this
13:38Theater seating right here so you can
13:39watch TV on a giant projector screen
13:42this is just really really cool and
13:43these windows are reflective so it's
13:46going to reflect back some of the heat
13:47but of course you you're still going to
13:49get some heat inside if you're from it
13:51overall though this is a really really
13:53cool floor plan I would love to know
