01:05 neighborhood a little bit right because
01:06 historically home has been like this
01:08 ever since our culture specifically
01:11 African American art and culture and you
01:13 growing up here being the child to
01:15 Harlem when did you first realize that
01:17 just the magic of your city the magic of
01:19 your neighborhood when there's the first
01:20 dawn on you that you were coming up in a
01:22 special place I probably had to be
01:24 involved maybe like five or six it was
01:28 just you know five you're very very
01:30 aware of like what's going on around you
01:33 you know I'm saying my Bobo's all the
01:35 stores Mart 125 you know all the beauty
01:38 supply stores you know like the
01:41 McDonald's used to be right there and it
01:43 was just a lot of different things that
01:44 has been up there for years Harlem has
01:47 always been like dope to me you know
01:49 what's dope about she was an artist
01:50 I mean you write do sing dance you
01:54 direct it kind of embodies like all
01:57 these creative areas and I feel like the
02:00 neighborhood really instills that like
02:01 there's no boundaries when it comes to
02:04 I've always naturally had that in me
02:05 where I'm just like literally doing a
02:09 million things that weren't talking like
02:11 I'm doing right now you know but it's
02:12 not something that always that that
02:14 feels overwhelming in any type of
02:16 negative way you know where's ago this
02:18 is just too much because I'm so used to
02:20 that pace try that one more time
02:32 you know we're back here at the you know
02:35 dunno baby sensor and I want to know
02:38 what keeps you kind of coming back to
02:40 these kids because you were once one of
02:42 these kids mm-hmm in this sense of
02:43 running around because it was something
02:48 about Milbank where you could literally
02:51 express self you could be sitting right
02:52 here on the bleachers and like they'll
02:54 call the timeout during the basketball
02:56 game and then the song oh come on you
02:58 ain't have to raise your hand you have
03:00 to actually come down we just jumping up
03:01 at least it's a weekend in rocket name
03:03 bracelet ain't no like no you sit down
03:05 you sit down everybody you know cuz you
03:07 know how that go you know I'm saying
03:08 it's never been a hassle to express
03:12 yourself and then you're a part of this
03:47 McDonald's is been in my city campaign
03:48 and you're able to really marry the two
03:51 so what is it like to be a part of beat
03:53 in my city and have that represented
03:56 right here I know that I really
03:57 appreciate McDonald's even like doing
04:00 this with me we choosing to collaborate
04:03 with me or Milbank that means you did
04:04 your research and you know that this is
04:06 where I used to dance like to be that
04:09 supportive is like everything and how
04:11 already love McDonald's but that just
04:13 gave them like the extra brownie points
04:15 this is really to genuinely give back
04:19 you know I'm saying like yeah and that
04:21 was that was really really dope
04:36 iced over here excited to have porn with
04:40 you and this other component of it which
04:44 we call annotate for good and that's the
04:46 program with the genius community as
04:47 annotation it has music knowledge to our
04:49 site what it does is raises money so for
04:52 each annotation is representative you
04:54 know certain dollar amount and you're
04:55 not an annotation on genius as well in
04:57 frozen Harlem and I just kind of wanted
04:59 to talk to you about that when you see
05:00 fans interpreted you're leveraged
05:02 obviously let me speak so much senior
05:04 music you creates everything how do you
05:05 feel when you kind of see if you each
05:07 other decide it's not like I wanted to
05:09 goosebumps you know that always means so
05:11 much to me because it really just shows
05:13 that your hard work you know never goes
05:17 unnoticed even when you feel like you do
05:21 get up one stays is all these kids are
05:24 like crying with you laughing with you
05:26 singing with you every single word and
05:28 there's just like why would I want to
05:30 stop that keep me going and keep me
05:33 going to know there's people out there
05:34 that I'm uplifting you know and that
05:36 means the world and they've come out
05:38 here uplifting people and I'm gonna
05:40 continue to do that
05:58 once we start getting visuals and new
06:01 music and things of that nature
06:03 I'm coming I was it's coming December 6
06:10 Oh soon as I didn't think it was gonna
06:12 be that so not what kind of like on this
06:16 new album I've really been inspired by
06:19 just the things that's been happening
06:20 around me like seeing my friends go
06:23 through certain stuff seeing my friends
06:25 going through heartbreaks seeing my
06:26 friends trying to find love seeing my
06:28 friends feel that love seeing my friends
06:30 cry in my lap yes I'm in love yes I'm
06:33 happy yes I'm a mom but I'm also still
06:35 human being and I've also still have
06:37 experienced up and I've been through
06:38 stuff even before I found my happiness
06:40 you know so I find a balance and singing
06:42 about my happiness but also singing
06:44 about everyday struggles everyday life
06:46 everyday things that are going on in our
06:49 world today and really that's what I
06:53 want to keep giving I want to keep
06:54 giving those records like I'm still
06:56 human you keep doing you because that's
06:58 what makes us fans are you see I just
