00:11Tyler the Creator released his first
00:13album bastard which was the start of his
00:16rise to stardom in the music industry
00:18however back then nobody knew that
00:20bastard was only the first installment
00:22in a three album Trilogy a Trilogy in
00:25which Tyler discusses many things with a
00:28mysterious therapist named Dr TC such as
00:31disturbing events mental health issues
00:34the absence of his father and eventually
00:36thoughts about murder and suicide in
00:40this video we're gonna take a deep dive
00:41into not one but the three first albums
00:45of Tyler the Creator also known as the
00:48wolf Trilogy so feel free to grab a
00:51snack grab a drink or even subscribe to
00:54the channel this video is definitely my
00:57most ambitious yet and it's probably
01:00going to get demonetized so subscribing
01:03is always very nice so let's get into it
01:05normally I would just introduce the
01:08artist I'm talking about out for this
01:10video but it's Tyler the Creator like
01:12come on but I still feel like I could
01:14provide some context to this whole
01:17trilogy because everybody's familiar
01:19with Tyler's last few projects but these
01:24obscure it so the trilogy tells the
01:27story of Tyler having sessions with a
01:30therapist from his school named Dr TC
01:32because he has apparently some mental
01:35health problems a crucial thing to
01:37understand before jumping right into it
01:39is the concept of Tyler's alter egos
01:42which you might have heard before for
01:45example Igor would be one of his alter
01:49egos they're not different characters
01:51throughout the albums they're just
01:53different versions of Tyler but taken to
01:57an extreme like for example one is a
02:00cool and hip drug dealer and the other
02:02one wants to rape everyone it's kind of
02:05similar to a multiple personality
02:07disorder in this trilogy but still
02:11you'll see it's not quite exactly that
02:13and you're gonna see that as we go
02:15through the albums each album's centers
02:19around one of Tyler's Alter Egos and the
02:22first one bastard is centered around on
02:25the alter ego known as Ace I don't want
02:28to give too much away before I start so
02:31um let's just jump into it so bastard is
02:34Tyler The Creator's first album and it
02:37was officially released in 2009 on the
02:39Odd Future website as a free download
02:41for anyone the really first thing we
02:44notice with this album is it's pretty
02:46hellish cover showing a school class
02:48picture of kids with eyes grayed out and
02:51pretty uh spooky features all covered
02:53with this transparent red filter it's
02:56important to note that there are two
02:59official covers for bastard one with the
03:02red filter and one with the blue filter
03:04Tyler mentioned the reason for that
03:06explaining that red means evil and blue
03:09means happy this all actually make sense
03:12a bit later in this video keep that in
03:15mind but there are still the kids on the
03:17cover right this is referencing to the
03:19title of the album itself bastard which
03:22is about Tyler's father being not bear
03:25the meaning of bastard is a child born
03:27to parents who are not married to each
03:30other and it's also pretty much common
03:31knowledge that's growing up Tyler didn't
03:41this could be the reason why these
03:43features were added onto the kids maybe
03:46Tyler feels alienated compared to all
03:49these kids that probably have a normal
03:51life with a normal father and decides to
03:54take his anger out that way by graying
03:57out their faces but it's pretty obvious
03:59that Tyler's father plays a gigantic
04:02role in this album which can already be
04:04seen right into first track
04:16he mentions there are three sessions
04:19scheduled today tomorrow and the next
04:22day and now you're like oh [Â __Â ] that's
04:25the three albums right to which I say
04:29this is the thing that will only make
04:32sense at the very end of this video so
04:36for now just remember it okay
04:41this is what the devil plays before he
04:44goes to sleep that line is very
04:46interesting if you consider the actual
04:48music the piano chords and Melody
04:51playing is called a tritone in music
04:53theory a tritone is defined as a musical
04:56interval composed of three adjacent
04:59whole tones and this makes sense with
05:01the first line of the song because in
05:03the early 18th century a tritone was
05:06actually considered as devilish music
05:10just a nice little detail here among
05:13other subjects Tyler talks about how his
05:15mother raised him alone and how he got
05:17suspended from school there's also a
05:19mention of the new character and the
05:21storyline a girl named The Sarah the
05:24summer is never that's equivalent to me
05:27and Sarah apparently this is a real
05:29person that broke Tyler's heart when he
05:32was in high school she'll definitely
05:34come back later anyway being a good
05:36therapist Dr TC asked Tyler what he
05:39would tell his father if he could talk
05:41to him I just want my father's email so
05:44I could tell him how much I [Â __Â ] hate
05:47if you have a chance to turn something
05:57the Title VII is used like a slight
06:00aggression towards X Odd Future member
06:03Brendan Deshay with who Tyler had beefed
06:05at the time the Shea was on the label
06:07777 hence the name of the song over the
06:11next two songs Tyler will continue
06:13talking with Dr TC about his Ambitions
06:16and his upfront and in your face
06:19mentality he has with music which I mean
06:22is nothing less you'd expect from me
06:25therapy session with a young rapper
06:27right but then Tyler starts confessing
06:31things to Dr TC that are very much
06:36the fifth song on bastard is blow and
06:39this song is quite heavy in terms of its
06:42subjects Tyler first raps about you know
06:45buying a girl a nice dinner and then
06:48maybe buying her a gift and then just
06:51raping her and killing her you've been
06:54warned some of these songs are really
06:56not pretty he even mentions like
06:59cannibalism at some point
07:04now just imagine being the therapist on
07:08the other end Tyler spends the last four
07:10songs talking about normal stuff you'd
07:13expect and then he pulls this [Â __Â ] out
07:16what do you make of that well this is
07:20the first song where we see a very dark
07:23part of Tyler's mind or alter egos that
07:28is obsessed with a sort of sexual slash
07:32murder fantasy which you'll see comes
07:34back in many other songs now uh who is
07:40it's not very clear as of now
07:47song six on bastard is the song pigs fly
07:51featuring Domo Genesis this is another
07:53one of those songs where Tyler and
07:56another Odd Future member just wrapped
07:58the braggadocious style but this time
08:00it's more of a song about Tyler having
08:02really big Ambitions and dreams with
08:04this music hence the name pigs fly
08:06meaning something impossible this title
08:09could also very well be inspired by Pink
08:11Floyd's iconic cover for animals but now
08:14you're like what else right considering
08:17we're hearing a therapy session it's
08:19kind of confusing how Tyler just talks
08:22about something so [Â __Â ] disturbing
08:25and moves on to something so innocent
08:28compared to what he just said and you're
08:30hoping that what he just confessed to Dr
08:33TC and below is just a big ass slip up
08:40yeah I don't want to play you track 10
08:44on bastard is VCR slash wheels and it's
08:47definitely my favorite song from bastard
08:49like the beat is so [Â __Â ] crisp it's
08:53amazing but the themes in the song are
08:56pretty dark it's kind of expanding on
08:59that weird sexual fantasy from Blow by
09:02doing some double entanges and similes
09:05to VCRs and movie tapes
09:10in this song Tyler seems to tell Dr TC
09:13about a toxic relationship he's been in
09:16with a girl whether it's the catchy
09:19chorus where Tyler says press my buttons
09:21baby are threatening to kill that girl
09:24if he finds out she watches other movies
09:27in the end of the video for VCR Tyler
09:30basically jumps a girl in his basement
09:32and probably kills her but then it gets
09:36even weirder in the second part of the
09:39song Wheels where Tyler sang
09:46you know in these type of songs very
09:50sexual very very horny you'd expect you
09:53know some throwback from the girl it's
09:56always Tyler proposing to do something
09:58but the girl never agrees or reacts to
10:02anything because she's dead
10:05I like my girls skinny with brains this
10:08song is obviously about Sarah the girl
10:11Tyler was in love with but then broke
10:14his heart we learned in the first verse
10:16that Sarah broke Tyler's heart when
10:18Tyler asked her if she wanted to go to
10:20prom with him which obviously Sarah's
10:27and in the second verse Tyler goes crazy
10:29and kidnaps her to throw her in the
10:40bring any bells VCR the basement that's
10:44Sarah in the third and final verse we
10:46learned Sarah is now dead killed by
10:48Tyler in his basement and Tyler is now
10:50performing cannibalism then he proceeds
10:54to have sex with the cadaver and finally
10:57the police arrives thank God and in
11:00order to not get caught he just kills
11:04what a song there's a lot to unpack here
11:06first of all we're at the point of the
11:09album where we start to notice patterns
11:11between the songs we've heard for
11:13example this part of Tyler which is
11:15obsessed with dark sexual fantasies such
11:18as rape cannibalism and even now
11:21necrophilia comes back quite a lot
11:23whether it's on the song five blow or
11:27song 10 VCR wheels or this song Sarah
11:30and by comparing these songs with the
11:32rest of the ones of the album you can
11:35already hint that Tyler has some sort of
11:37mental health issues and these mental
11:40health issues are really only just
11:44paint pictures they just Trace me
11:47track 13 is Jack and the Beanstalk based
11:51on the famous tale by Benjamin tabard
11:53and there's parallels that can be drawn
11:55between the tale and this song obviously
11:58mostly talking about how gold is Beats
12:01and music are it's also pretty
12:03interesting how his personality changes
12:05from one song to another last song He
12:09murdered someone and now he's bragging
12:12about his music being good like am I
12:16missing something it's like you just
12:19switched and he's a completely different
12:21person but now it's time for the closer
12:24of this album and glorious
12:29Inglorious is the 15th and final track
12:32on bastard where Tyler addresses and
12:35faces the fact that his father left him
12:41the tracks title coincides with the
12:44first track of the album bastard not
12:46only in themes but also by forming the
12:49phrase and glorious bastard a note to
12:51the 2008 Quentin Tarantino film and
12:54glorious bastard most people would
12:56assume that Tyler has never met his
12:59father by the way he talks about him but
13:02that's not actually true there's an
13:05interesting line in this song where he
13:07says he bought me a hoodie a couple
13:09albums like that's gonna make up for the
13:11years of the tears apparently in a now
13:14deleted post he says I met the blank
13:18when I was 12 and seen him eight times
13:21since he bought me a Stussy tea and
13:24Hoodie [Â __Â ] though but you'd expect
13:26that all these events Tyler describes
13:30are not there for no reason at all why
13:34is Tyler or one of his alter egos coming
13:37out to say all this [Â __Â ] up [Â __Â ] while
13:41it might be coming from one thing so
13:44obvious from the very start of this
13:46album his father it could be that Tyler
13:50craves so much for attention from his
13:53father that he comes out as an alter ego
13:57that is willing to do anything to get
14:00any kind of reaction from anybody
14:02including raping or killing you know but
14:06still in the end of the song Tyler
14:07realizes that he doesn't need to be
14:10affected like this by not having a
14:12father and decides to get over it
14:20the album ends with a loud bang that
14:23could be interpreted as this suicide
14:25given Tyler's Behavior throughout the
14:28album but given the lyrics said just
14:31before that that bank could more likely
14:34be referring to him killing this
14:36bastard's side of him and moving forward
14:38basically killing Ace is Alter Ego that
14:42is so affected by not having a father
14:45which would end the first album of the
14:49trilogy bastard or in other words the
14:54first therapy session of Dr TC today so
14:59now it's time to move on to the second
15:01album in this trilogy
15:05but isn't Goblin the next one well it
15:11actually wouldn't make sense to play
15:14Goblin right after this album and here's
15:17why some people think that the Bang from
15:20Inglorious is referencing to the first
15:24line said by Dr TC in Goblin
15:34you wouldn't do that Tyler
15:36kill yourself or anyone that wouldn't
15:39make sense you wouldn't do that you
15:40wouldn't kill yourself but they forgot
15:43one thing what Dr TC says right after
15:47it's been a while since the last session
15:49so show me what's been going on what
15:52what do you mean it's been a while since
15:54our last session we're having a therapy
15:57session right now it's like Dr TC waited
16:01an entire week to answer what Tyler just
16:05said on Inglorious right he threatens to
16:09then Dr TC responds you wouldn't be that
16:14kill yourself or anyone but he says it's
16:17been a while since our last session this
16:20Theory can't work because there's a
16:23clear gap of time between these two
16:26moments and this is why Goblin isn't a
16:30direct sequel to bastard both of these
16:33albums are two separate therapy sessions
16:37with Dr TC and they are separated by the
16:41events in the wolf for now let's get
16:44into the second album of this trilogy
16:55the title for wolf refers specifically
16:58to the main character of the album wolf
17:01Haley who is basically Tyler in an
17:04interview in 2011 he said this wolf
17:06Haley guy is the guy that I really want
17:09to be he's just wild which makes sense
17:11in this context because he just got over
17:14his father right he's the guy he wants
17:17to be not dependent of anybody so to
17:20avoid any confusion in this album
17:24wolf is Tyler an Ace from bastard is no
17:30more the album has three official covers
17:32so the first one being the main one and
17:34depicting the two main characters in the
17:37album wolf and Samuel who can be seen
17:39holding an inhaler you'll notice the
17:42cover is mainly blue which if you
17:44remember the blue bastard cover that
17:46represented happiness that kind of makes
17:50sense in the context of this album wolf
17:53is a much happier record than bastard
17:56instrumentally and lyrically and that's
17:59apparent as soon as the album starts
18:07wolf starts with the character Samuel
18:09performing a song with this band a true
18:12Masterpiece by the way [Â __Â ]
18:16but they suddenly get interrupted by Dr
18:19TC who tells Sam to welcome wolf to Camp
18:23flogna a summer camp for troubled kids
18:26or whatever in fact after the last
18:32um Tyler Dr TC probably felt like Tyler
18:36made a lot of progress and thought maybe
18:38signing him up for a summer camp is not
18:40such a bad idea you know maybe he's
18:42gonna make some friends who knows Sam
18:45this is Wolf he's new here wolf this is
18:48Sam so I'm going to show you around when
18:50I fill out these last minute features
18:52I'm sorry you guys have fun
18:55so you guys are in the Jazz look wolf we
18:58don't [Â __Â ] with you or anybody else here
18:59all right you stay the [Â __Â ] out our way
19:01and we'll stay out of yours capiche this
19:04interaction between these two characters
19:06already indicate who's the antagonist of
19:10the story Samuel and that the
19:12relationship between the two will just
19:14become worse and worse throughout the
19:22the second song on Wolf is Jamba which
19:25is a [Â __Â ] Banger hell yeah the
19:29meaning of Jamba is not very clear you'd
19:33obviously think like a Jamba Juice right
19:35but the translation then made the most
19:38sense was marijuana why well if you
19:42consider the entire runtime of the album
19:45at four minutes and 20 seconds Tyler
19:49says [Â __Â ] this B [Â __Â ] let's smoke weed
19:52and it's on the song Jamba that's crazy
19:56Jamba is a song Wrapped from the
19:59perspective of Samuel and we know that
20:01because he mentions an inhaler on this
20:04song we get to introduced to his
20:06character and especially his uh
20:09confidence he's been a camp flog now for
20:11a while as he flexes is badge the
20:15official Vlog knob badge with a cat
20:17Center in the middle basically Sam is
20:20not someone you want [Â __Â ] with still the
20:23song ends with the Samuel's Friends
20:25making fun of him because he doesn't
20:28smoke cool my [Â __Â ] you don't even
20:32smoke come this weak ass [Â __Â ] Samuel
20:37knock knock [Â __Â ] truck three on
20:40the wolf is a cowboy and there's
20:42actually been some discourse over who's
20:45rapping on this song is it wolf or Sam
20:49but to me it's clear that it's wolf like
20:52even mentions this name in the song and
20:54it kind of compliments himself Samuel
20:57wouldn't do that anyway on Cowboy we get
21:00to see a side of wolf that is more
21:02reserved than Sam because I am the
21:05cowboy on my own trip and he pictures
21:08himself as a cowboy just minding his own
21:11business and not caring about where he
21:14ends up or how the things he does affect
21:18other people basically the description
21:20of how Tyler described wolf and you know
21:23that's how you should feel after the
21:26events and problems on bastard he's just
21:28looking for the next thing looking for a
21:31new beginning and uh he might just have
21:38Salem that's my girlfriend you stay the
21:41[Â __Â ] away from her eyes that's of course
21:43Sam mentioning his girlfriend for the
21:46first time say lunch which clearly wolf
21:49has an interest in this kind of
21:51justifies the meaning of the chorus and
21:54the song even though Samuel warns wolf
21:57not to approach Shayla he's a cowboy on
22:01his own trip he's gonna do what he has
22:03to do and honestly he might have a lot
22:06of chances to do that because Salem and
22:09Samuel's relationship is not at the best
22:15yeah yeah I was 16 when we first played
22:19awkward is the fourth song on Wolf and
22:22is a direct response to the ending of
22:25the last check which talks about Sam and
22:27Salem's relationship prior to Wolf's
22:29arrival awkward is pretty
22:31self-explanatory in what it wants to
22:34convey as a message the relationship
22:36between Samuel and Salem is awkward and
22:42you can already tell by the chorus
22:47but really it seems that Samuel is a
22:51kind of obsessed with Salem in a way
22:53even mentions that the girl's name Salem
22:56is his password for everything and even
22:59though it's kind of awkward in this
23:02relationship he's still emphasizing the
23:04fact that Salem is his girlfriend
23:07whether you like it or not it's kind of
23:10strange how you notice the there's kind
23:13of similar vibes with how Samuel is
23:16acting and Ace from bastard right feels
23:20like this line would have been something
23:23Tyler would have said on Goblin talking
23:25about Sarah for example anyway let's
23:31Domo 23 is song 5 on Wolf and despite
23:36the mysterious name of the song it's
23:39literally the name of the beat Tyler
23:41made for this song you thought I was
23:43gonna pull out some crazy oh but fun
23:46fact the hook of the song was performed
23:50by a none other than Tyler's
23:52eight-year-old cousin which is hilarious
23:55to me considering the uh the bars in the
24:01anyway this song ends with Tyler talking
24:04about lettuce or something but on the
24:07wolf CD it keeps going and we get this
24:24world is not available
24:28I don't think I need to say that this
24:31song is a masterpiece because I mean
24:32everybody knows that at this point it's
24:36so [Â __Â ] good a good way to kind of
24:37summarize this song would be to separate
24:41it into three parts or the three verses
24:44each verse representing someone that
24:47doesn't answer when they're called the
24:50first verse talks about the father of
24:52Tyler and what he would tell him if
24:54Tyler had a chance to talk to him the
24:56song also explains the transition
24:58between bastard and wolf [Â __Â ] is in
25:01Oklahoma I'm changing my [Â __Â ] to Haley
25:03explaining how Tyler changes his name
25:06from Tyler akonma to Wolf Haley he
25:09doesn't want his father's name anymore
25:11the second verse talks about Tyler's
25:14Grandma who unfortunately died in 2012.
25:17those two first verses come from the
25:19perspective of Tyler AKA Wolf the final
25:23verse though is from the perspective of
25:26Samuel and is actually referring to his
25:30girlfriend Salem since their
25:32relationship is kind of Rocky she won't
25:34answer to Sam the last version
25:44truck seven on Wolf is called Slater and
25:48honestly before doing my research I was
25:51certain that the Slater was a character
25:54in the album but really it's just the
25:57name of Tyler's bike if you follow Tyler
26:00on social media you know very well he's
26:06I mean it's just a song about his bike
26:09and biking Happy song yay
26:17song 8 on Wolf is 48. the song starts
26:21with a snippet from a conversation with
26:23rapper Nas talking about the negative
26:25impact crack add on people in the 90s
26:28but how lucrative that business was and
26:31that's pretty on point because the song
26:33is about Sam selling drugs and the title
26:3648 refers to the contiguous United
26:40States the 48 adjoining States so
26:43wherever you are in there Sam's got you
26:47as the song goes on Sam begins to feel
26:49in over his head about drug dealing
26:51apologizing over and over for what he's
26:54doing but without really meaning it he
26:57realizes that what he does is wrong but
27:00still the money like it's addicting
27:05you know what I mean went to Six Flags
27:07Six Flags came up and said hey yo
27:10Colossus is an insane song and probably
27:13among my favorites from Tyler this song
27:17takes no part in The Narrative from Wolf
27:20but still it's an insane story and this
27:23song Tyler is waiting in line for a
27:26roller coaster at Six Flags be Colossus
27:29and some weird [Â __Â ] fan comes and
27:32asks for a picture but when I say weird
27:35remember the weird behaviors Tyler had
27:38on bastard this is on par with that all
27:41right I'm thinking about your face and I
27:43don't even [Â __Â ] try to wish I had a
27:45basement meant for me to hide you what
27:47the [Â __Â ] are you trying to recreate VCR
27:49but the craziest thing is uh and I found
27:52that a couple weeks ago I think they
27:55actually found the Colossus guy let me
27:57see if I can find it all right for y'all
27:59who don't believe the Tyler the
28:00Creator's Colossus was written about me
28:01here's all the proof you need right now
28:03as me will marks on the back of my shirt
28:05that was six years ago I looked up the
28:08day classes was released six years ago
28:102019 2013. I ended up going up and asked
28:13for a picture as you can see in the
28:14photo I asked him if I could get one he
28:16said no I was like bro but like I'm a
28:18huge fan like I listen to Goblin Yonkers
28:20like that's all my [Â __Â ] he's like I
28:22don't give a [Â __Â ] like if I give you a
28:23picture I have to give everyone a
28:24picture and you're like [Â __Â ] 12 years
28:26old anyway I mean it's debatable like or
28:29whether it could have been him still why
28:31would you want to brag about that there
28:33are so many bars on that song that are
28:39just take this [Â __Â ] picture man [Â __Â ]
28:50the next song on Wolf is parties and
28:53over slash campfire slash Bimmer and
28:55it's basically three songs smashed
28:58together so to make this easier to
29:01understand let's analyze each part
29:04individually party isn't over is
29:07definitely a song about Salem and the
29:10Wolf going one step further in their
29:13relationship wolf says he doesn't have
29:15rhythm implying he didn't have any
29:18serious relationship experience at this
29:20point and he's just asking Salem to take
29:23a chance with him get this [Â __Â ] started
29:26and then we cut to campfire which is
29:29what's happening right now for Samuel
29:31you know just camping with his friends
29:33just having a good time you can tell
29:36it's Sam with some bars like my flock
29:38not badge is looking good on this brand
29:40new jacket Sam not only mentioned is
29:44flog not badge in Jamba but he's also
29:48mentioned buying a few nice things with
29:50the money he's making dealing drugs but
29:53while that's happening
29:55um we get some action on Bimmer this
29:58song is basically just a wolf having sex
30:01with Salem alright that's what this is
30:03and comparing her to a good old BMW it
30:07never really sounded like it when I just
30:10played it but when you read deeper into
30:13the lyrics there's like so many sex
30:16metaphors with cars it's it's like it's
30:22which is just straight up porn anyway uh
30:25wolf as officially lost his V card with
30:28Salem but on the outro Sam learns that
30:32wolf and Salem have been hanging out you
30:36know where they went I see him going
30:42I never would have thought that feelings
30:45could get thrown I [Â __Â ] hate you as a
30:47direct response to Samuel learning Salem
30:50as been unfaithful to their relationship
30:52the song really showcases his
30:54aggressiveness and the toxicity of his
30:57relationship with Salem he even admits
30:59in the song that Salem is perfect on its
31:02own but when they're together they're
31:04troubled and it doesn't work but still
31:07in all this aggressiveness you can see
31:10he's still cares about Salem although
31:14every time he shows some small sign of
31:19affection he immediately follows it up
31:22with the most toxic [Â __Â ] for example he
31:25says he he would want to just straight
31:28up strangle the girl but just so he
31:31could spend the rest of his life looking
31:33for air and breathing it into her mouth
31:37so she could breathe
31:39ah but a little life advice from your
31:44buddy uh TomTom if you have a boyfriend
31:47or girlfriend whatever maybe mention you
31:52uh a bit later preferably never and
31:57still on this song I cannot get over the
31:59fact that Samuel is just like Tyler was
32:04on bastard right with Sarah it's like
32:07Samuel is a dark reflection of the
32:11behavior Tyler had on bastard right
32:13anyway the song ends with a little
32:16conversation snippet of wolf and Salem
32:20at their date down at the lake why Sam
32:24was such a [Â __Â ] dick
32:26he's only here because he ran away
32:28because some [Â __Â ] happened back home
32:34the twelfth song on the wolf is pigs and
32:38answers directly the question what
32:41happened with Sam and why he ran away
32:43from home this is definitely my least
32:45favorite track from Wolf the
32:47instrumental is just like
32:51but it's still interesting to know a bit
32:53more about Sam's backstory we learned
32:55that Sam was actually bullied in school
32:58his prom date dismissed his offer and
33:01that eventually drives him to kill his
33:05bullies which is why Sam ended up at
33:08Camp Vlog now sounds the kind of similar
33:12if you compare the events in bastard
33:14right especially the part about the prom
33:16date dismissing the offer there's also
33:20parallels that can be drawn from pigs to
33:23the song picks fly from bastard pigs fly
33:26has some bars where Tyler mentions
33:28selling drugs which indicates that pigs
33:31fly is probably wrapped by Samuel which
33:35is crazy to me because bastard is four
33:38years prior to Wolf anyway next song is
33:45this is the 13th song on Wolf and
33:49there's not that much to it even Tyler
33:52said himself that the song was uh
33:56his words not mine it's just about Tyler
33:59hanging out with his uh friends Loiter
34:02Squad but the Realty of this track is
34:19Rusty is song 14 on Wolf I've seen this
34:22song Get praised so many times as like
34:26the best song that Tyler has ever made
34:28which honestly I never really got and
34:30the song Tyler talks a bit about is
34:33Media presence and addressing how people
34:35are trying to cancel him for everything
34:38but that's not really important when we
34:41look at the whole song really it's the
34:44last verse of the song where Earl
34:46Sweatshirt Spitzer verse resembling some
34:49sort of suicide note he says he's close
34:52to the edge as possible literally and
34:54figuratively with Samuel screaming at
34:57him to jump off a cliff finally Earl
35:00says goodbye and good luck while Sam
35:03Cuts him off and literally shoots him in
35:05Cold Blood It's gotta shut the [Â __Â ] up
35:12Asylum was mine [Â __Â ] was that good
35:15enough you [Â __Â ] [Â __Â ] start off I eat
35:18those these clothes Rusty abruptly cuts
35:21the trash Wang the 15th song on Wolf and
35:24that song is [Â __Â ] trash no pun
35:27intended I mean even said in the tweet
35:30that trashwang means more to his friends
35:33than anyone else so if that makes sense
35:36although the song ends with a gunshot
35:39click click this is intended to be the
35:43moment wolf and Salem here are the
35:47gunshot that killed Earl in the song
35:54you want to hear the new song we just
36:00treehome 95 is track 16th on Wolf and
36:04one of the more Jazz influenced song on
36:07the album in the context of the story
36:09It's actually an unfinished song that
36:13Salem is showing out to Wolf as Salem is
36:16part of Sam's band at flogna she
36:19initially wrote this song for him but
36:23she's showing it to Wolf instead because
36:25she's more fond of them the song ends
36:28with Salem asking wolf to just escape
36:30with him which in a way validates the
36:33strength of their relationship and how
36:36they're meant for each other okay this
36:38is it's so [Â __Â ] hot just for the sake
36:41of kananuri uh in the video I'm taking
36:44my shirt off just so it doesn't seem
36:51is the second to last song on Wolf and
36:55it's a banger just just everything about
36:57it the Japanese inspired drums the crazy
37:01tamale sample the bars this song is
37:03[Â __Â ] perfect the song ends with wolf
37:06being caught jerking off in his room by
37:09one of the camp counselors I guess which
37:12given the context of the last song
37:16doesn't really make sense you know
37:19you're telling me that wolf learned that
37:22Sam wanted to kill him and then he went
37:25with Salem to listen to a song she made
37:29and finally went back to his room to
37:35what I have a different Theory maybe
37:38after hearing that gunshot in trash wine
37:42wolf went hiding in his room and tree
37:44home 95 is just him thinking of that
37:48Let's Escape fantasy with Salem this is
37:52not what happened he's just dreaming
37:57about it and that could be what he's
37:59jerking off to in tamale I don't know
38:02it's just a thought it makes sense in my
38:04head but that doesn't matter because
38:06wolf is sent to Dr TC's office once
38:17alone is the final track on the wolf
38:20this is one of the rare songs that Tyler
38:24did not produce himself the instrumental
38:27is a sample from a song named Tornado by
38:31composer Wilson Das Nevis the song title
38:34makes full circle with the first song of
38:36the album making up the phrase Lone Wolf
38:39this reflects is a behavior throughout
38:42the album as mentioned in the song
38:44Cowboy he's minding his own business
38:46he's making his own path as a lone wolf
38:50but it's also reflecting the Solitude of
38:54that song where Tyler talks about
38:56experiencing the death of his grandma
38:59but all things aside
39:02have you noticed that wolf is kind of
39:05like the contrary of bastard it's crazy
39:10when you compare the two personalities
39:13of Tyler on both of these albums on
39:21dysfunctional torn apart by not having a
39:24father and also kind of a monster
39:27Remembered in necrophilia the
39:29cannibalism this [Â __Â ] is crazy when you
39:32compare it to Wolf name one time on the
39:37wolf that Tyler did something wrong
39:43you can't there there's nothing I guess
39:46he got caught jerking off but I mean
39:48happens to the best of us like he said
39:51in that interview in 2011 wolf is the
39:56perfect version of Tyler wolf Haley is
40:00the alter ego that is the best possible
40:05version of Tyler versus Ace on bastard
40:08which is the worst possible version of
40:12Tyler the only negative things we see on
40:15Wolf is Sam and that's maybe why they
40:18have such rivalry between the two at the
40:21end of the song Alone Dr TC being aware
40:25of the conflict between wolf and Sam
40:28asks wolf if he has seen Sam [Â __Â ] that
40:34if I seen that [Â __Â ] I would have killed
40:36him this ends the record which is a
40:40bizarre ending it's just
40:42bang it's over but it makes plenty of
40:45sense if you play Goblin right after
40:48this Goblin is the third and last album
40:51in this Trilogy the first song Goblin is
40:55a continuation of the ending of Lone
41:02but if I seen that [Â __Â ] I would have
41:05killed him you wouldn't do that Tyler
41:07kill yourself or anyone even though it
41:10makes sense it's still kind of odd that
41:14Dr TC says you wouldn't do that kill
41:18yourself or anyone rather than you
41:22wouldn't kill Sam there's a reason for
41:24that but for now keep that in mind the
41:27album is basically Tyler's second
41:29session with Dr TC remember what he said
41:32about that Ambassador this session is
41:35The Tomorrow session in other words
41:37Tyler is back to square one back in the
41:41office of Dr TC Dr TC persuaded ease
41:45what Tyler needs to get better but this
41:48is where Tyler's mental health will
41:50Decay more and more throughout the album
41:56is the second track on Goblin and often
42:00considered Tyler's Breakout song I
42:02should probably also mention that
42:04Yonkers is a song Tyler hates he made
42:07the beat in five minutes apparently and
42:10by how he um performs it at concerts he
42:13seems pretty sick of it I'm a [Â __Â ]
42:16homosexual what no I'm not threesomes
42:19Yonkers is a song where we really see
42:22Tyler's mental health degrading because
42:25the song is structured like Tyler is
42:28talking over himself like he would have
42:30Tyler and wolf Haley talking at the same
42:34time basically the whole premise of this
42:36song is to highlight the conflicts
42:38between the personality of Tyler on
42:41bastard and Tyler on Wolf it's almost
42:44like Tyler has a hard time knowing who
42:48really is and what he really wants and
42:52with reason on bastard Tyler spent the
42:54entire album talking about himself like
42:57a monster really killing and raping girl
43:00saying some super edgy stuff while on
43:03the wolf he's the best person he could
43:06be he doesn't do anything bad even
43:08steals a girl from someone and he falls
43:12in love and on Yonkers those two
43:14personalities Collide which is something
43:18you'll see throughout Goblin Tyler
43:20answer the song by saying his conscience
43:22has jumped off his shoulder and is now
43:25dead and Tyler realizes he has no
43:31words let me try this [Â __Â ]
43:35what the [Â __Â ] I look like saying I'm
43:39this song is just about being as chaotic
43:42as possible with your action there's
43:44even a disclaimer at the beginning
43:46warning people to not do the [Â __Â ] he
43:49says in this song hey don't do anything
43:52that I say in this song okay it's
43:55[Â __Â ] fiction however believe it or
43:57not but there was actually a case where
44:00the radicals chant was used for uh
44:04terrorist threats actually a student at
44:06the University of South Alabama wrote
44:09the hook on a Flipboard in the library
44:12Alabama am I right it should be
44:15important to note that this is the first
44:17time Tyler gets this aggressive since
44:20faster right we've had a whole album
44:23just Tyler being happy but that's no
44:26surprise right because he just said in
44:27Yonkers he's lost all guidance although
44:31the song then switches Beats
44:37with the phrase you gotta let him go
44:39being repeated over and over again with
44:42Dr TC saying to Tyler he's got to let go
44:45of all this rebellious [Â __Â ] and it just
44:57golden robbers in these different
44:58pockets on my waist she is one of my
45:02favorite songs on Goblin but it's also
45:05kind of creepy when you look into it the
45:07song starts with Frank Ocean banging a
45:09girl but he's interrupted by uh someone
45:12stalking them that person is obviously
45:15Tyler now you're probably thinking uh
45:18Tyler's verse will uh probably be a dark
45:21and creepiest [Â __Â ] but uh it's actually
45:25not that bad there are some few threats
45:27here and there that you know Tyler's
45:31if the girl refuses to hang out with him
45:35but if she says yes Tyler says he'll be
45:37happy so it's okay we can tell that the
45:40girl he's talking about on this song is
45:42Salem because he asks her to meet him
45:44down by the lake which was already
45:46common for him in Wolf but the second
45:49verse is really just where all hope
45:51fails when he says he wants to [Â __Â ] her
45:56so good at this point the fact that he
45:58says this is very significant because
46:01that means he's talking about Sarah from
46:04bastard which means parallels start to
46:07be drawn between Salem and Sarah as the
46:11personalities of Ace and wolf merge on
46:16this record so are the personalities of
46:19Salem and Sarah it's like he's not
46:22telling the difference between the two
46:24anymore and that's why I think she is
46:27such an interesting song we learned that
46:29Tyler not only confuses his behaviors
46:34but also his memories
46:39Transylvania is song 5 on Goblin also is
46:43it just me or the song is like way
46:45quieter than any other song on Goblin
46:48every time I play it I have to raise the
46:51volume is it just me anyway the song
46:53follows the dark themes that were being
46:56raised on she now comparing himself to
46:59Dracula hence the name Transylvania but
47:02he's a version of Dracula that kills
47:05women and has sex with them this song is
47:07really reminiscent of a few songs from
47:10bastard where you have this dark side of
47:13Tyler with weird sexual Tendencies which
47:16we actually get a lot of answers to why
47:19he's like that very soon so tell me that
47:23everything just isn't going well well
47:28the sixth song nightmare starts with Dr
47:32TC asking Tyler what is not going well
47:35for him right now but but then it's like
47:37Dr TC answers for Tyler whoa first off
47:42it feels like Dr TC is talking over his
47:46patient while he answers or just answers
47:49for him which is weird but still keep
47:52that in mind nightmare is definitely one
47:54of the best sounding beats on Goblin and
47:57a song about Tyler feeling nostalgic
47:59about the early days before he got
48:01famous and almost contemplating suicide
48:05because of that there's also pretty
48:07interesting things we learn in the song
48:09the main one being that Tyler hears a
48:13voice in his head well you're a guy kid
48:15screaming oh f is the best
48:20Tyler gets pretty shook at the end of
48:23the song and confesses to Dr TC that
48:25this voice tells him to do [Â __Â ] up
48:27[Â __Â ] it tells me to do this [Â __Â ] that I
48:30don't want to [Â __Â ] do what's his name
48:36Tron Cat is Shrek 7 on Goblin it
48:40features a pretty intense instrumental
48:42and Tyler's most edgy bars yet the
48:45pregnant [Â __Â ] line got in band in UK
48:48just saying this is a Trek where we
48:50learn a major thing that all of Tyler's
48:53dark thoughts of murder and sexual
48:55fantasies come from one individual which
48:59we can finally put a name on
49:02Tron Cat if we look at the trilogy as a
49:05whole Tron Cat is everywhere on bastard
49:08the songs blow VCR Sarah those are all
49:12songs for Tron Cat is speaking he's also
49:15been there more recently with songs like
49:17radicals she and Transylvania on bastard
49:20Tron Cat feeds on the anger that Tyler
49:23feels due to the absence of his father
49:25and comes out in these over-the-top edgy
49:29situations that's why Tron Cat is
49:31nowhere to be seen in Wolf right because
49:34wolf Haley is the best version of Tyler
49:38free from all these dark thoughts like
49:42he had on bathroom however he's not
49:45completely absent the camp flogna badge
49:49as a cap picture in the center which is
49:52a clear reference to Tron Cat it's like
49:56Tron Cat is still overlooking everything
49:59that's going on on Wolf without actually
50:01inner but now on Goblin or Tyler's two
50:06personalities intersect
50:09troncat resurfaces in full songs at the
50:12end of Tron Cat Tyler's therapist Dr TC
50:16is so disturbed by what Tyler just said
50:20that he just decides to change the
50:22subject what the [Â __Â ]
50:26how's that girl you're telling me about
50:30oh I don't need the metronome bro
50:32her is song eight on goblin and the
50:36title makes it clear that it's kind of a
50:38sister song to she right pronouns she
50:42hurt but in contrast to she her is a
50:45song where Tyler shows legitimate
50:47affection for a girl the song starts
50:49with a verse talking about Salem Tyler
50:52talks about the beginning of the
50:54relationship and how it's blooming he
50:56even mentions her name is his password
50:59which if you remember is a line from
51:02Wolf however that song was clearly from
51:05the perspective of Sam while her is
51:09clearly Tyler's point of view because
51:13he's with Dr TC right so you're like is
51:16this the strangest coincidence they both
51:20love this girl so much that both of them
51:23have the same password or uh is there
51:28something else going on
51:34fish is song 10 on Goblin and although
51:37it's just titled fish on streaming
51:39services it's a two-part song the first
51:42part of the track runs around the theme
51:44of fishing for girls in a bar but you
51:47know it's Tyler so uh he means uh
51:49picking up girls by planting drugs in
51:52their drink and apparently given the
51:54lyrics of the song This is the very
51:57thing that brought him to see a
51:59therapist Dr TC the title fish could
52:02also be a reference to Albert Fish one
52:04of the first serial killers in America
52:06the second part of the song Boppin [Â __Â ]
52:09is more light-hearted and a bit funny
52:12even though it's got harsher lyrics it's
52:15literally just about Tyler going to a
52:18club to get a girl to suck his dick
52:21that's it oh and Tyler gets an STD at
52:24the end so we can kind of see a contrast
52:26between the two songs in fish it's more
52:29like Tron Cat or Ace is talking with the
52:33dark thoughts and the raping stuff but
52:36in Boppin [Â __Â ] it's wolf Haley because
52:39he doesn't give a [Â __Â ] he just wants to
52:41get his dick sucked so again Tyler's two
52:44personalities enter in Conflict again
52:51following fish we got to analog which is
52:54surprisingly just a short and cute song
52:57If we follow the previous narrative from
52:59the other albums this song is actually a
53:02sort of flashback in fact it's about
53:05wolf and Salem's date down at the lake
53:09there's even a reference from Wolf when
53:11Tyler says summer never has to end with
53:13me which is a lyric from Slater from
53:17Wolf it's also interesting that analog
53:20is a song about a lake right and it
53:23comes right after fish where do you get
53:26fishes in a lake so that's genius but
53:30you know what's not genius
53:36BSD is the 12th song on Goblin and this
53:40song is just a [Â __Â ] [Â __Â ] post I hate
53:43the fact that this song comes right
53:45after analog in the album
53:48it just breaks the flow of the album one
53:51interesting thing from this song is that
53:53it actually ends with Tyler killing taco
53:57and Jasper even though he doesn't really
54:05ah what the [Â __Â ] it makes you think that
54:07maybe Tron Cat is doing it but really
54:10it's about to get much clearer in the
54:17window is the 13th song on Goblin and
54:21it's a session organized with Dr TC and
54:23all of Tyler's friends although Dr
54:25cheesy says in the beginning that
54:30which makes sense because they were just
54:33murdered in BSD the whole song is an
54:36intervention in which all the members
54:39provide a sort of window into their
54:42lives if you look at everybody's verses
54:45they all end with the phrase where we at
54:48we on top of the world which is
54:50definitely the members of odd future
54:52just acknowledging the success of the
54:55collective like we're on top of the
54:58world we made it however Tyler has
55:01different views about that on his verse
55:07while everybody's excited about how
55:10their musical careers have taken off
55:13Tyler is sort of torn apart because he
55:16can't find himself and all of that and
55:19he's so unwell mentally that he decides
55:22to just kill all of his friends
55:31the song ends with only Tyler and Dr TC
55:45079 is a purely instrumental cut that
55:49serves as an interlude between window
55:51and golden the last Shrek on the goblin
55:54the last track of the entire Trilogy the
55:57title 079 refers to an element of the
56:00periodic table which is gold therefore
56:03this fits pretty well with the title of
56:11obviously has some [Â __Â ] problems
56:17golden is the final track in the entire
56:21Trilogy and it's where we get all the
56:24answers to our questions like the other
56:27two albums the title completes itself
56:30with the first track of the album making
56:32the phrase golden goblin Tyler then
56:35wraps a few verses about the success of
56:38odd future with the fact that he's still
56:40missing his best friend Earl and then
56:42Tyler gets into a pretty big argument
56:44with Dr DC so much that Dr TC ends up
56:49calling Security on him
56:55then we get a pretty heavy moment in
56:58which Tyler is held down on the floor
57:00and he keeps saying nobody gave a [Â __Â ]
57:02to which Dr TC responds
57:13I know everything you've been helping
57:33what when I heard that
57:37this is the shittiest ending I've ever
57:41heard in an album like everything and
57:45everyone was all in your head this whole
57:49time this is basically the equivalent of
57:52saying this was all a dream nothing
57:55happened and at first it may seem like
57:59that but thankfully it's not it's
58:02actually not what's happening here if we
58:05take it back to what Dr TC said about
58:09everything happening inside Tyler said
58:12there are tons of little Easter eggs
58:15that you can find through the albums
58:17that basically foreshadows this moment
58:21and that tell us that every character is
58:26just Tyler so if you haven't noticed by
58:29now Dr TC is named like that because Dr
58:33TC has the same initials as Tyler the
58:37Creator and also if you think about it
58:39the same as Tron Cat right TC but it's
58:42also happening throughout the songs for
58:45example if we think about that
58:47transition between wolf and Goblin where
58:49Tyler says I would have killed him
58:52nah you wouldn't you wouldn't kill
58:54yourself there's a reason why Dr TC says
58:57kill yourself or anyone in that specific
59:01instance Samuel is Tyler in Wolf Samuel
59:06is just a reflection of Tyler on bastard
59:11he's aggressive he had his prom date
59:15dismissed his offer exactly the same as
59:17Tyler and they have the same exact
59:20password they're the same person but
59:23some of these Easter eggs are not really
59:25as clear as the previous one some are
59:29kind of just bugs in The Matrix in
59:32another song nightmare the song starts
59:35out with Dr TC asking a question to
59:38Tyler and he starts answering it at the
59:41same time that's because Dr TC is Tyler
59:44there's also a moment in cowboy where we
59:48just hear Dr TC pop out of nowhere also
59:51in the song Tron Cat there's at the end
59:54of the song a part where Dr TC just
59:56admits he's not a therapist and there
59:59are tons of other little Easter eggs
01:00:02which I encourage you to share in the
01:00:05comments below but if we were to draw a
01:00:08takeaway from all this
01:00:10um what does this mean I feel like at
01:00:12first glance it's so easy to brush off
01:00:15this Trilogy as oh he's schizophrenic
01:00:18it's a good depiction of someone's
01:00:21mental health when they have multiple
01:00:23personality disorder or some [Â __Â ] but I
01:00:28feel like it's so much more than that if
01:00:31I were to bring down this whole trilogy
01:00:34to a core message it would be that
01:00:37you'll never be as good as the perfect
01:00:40person you want to be but you'll still
01:00:43never be as bad as the monster you
01:00:47imagine yourself to be it's all about
01:00:49finding your true self and that balance
01:00:52so in a way Tyler's realization that
01:00:57he's been talking to himself this whole
01:00:59time is not him realizing he's crazy or
01:01:03something it's just him finally finding
01:01:06himself Dr TC has been him this whole
01:01:10time and those therapy sessions were
01:01:13just a way for him to grow up and become
01:01:18the person he wants to be and if you
01:01:21remember at the very beginning of this
01:01:24video I said that there were three
01:01:27sessions planned for Tyler today
01:01:30tomorrow and the next day the next day
01:01:33is not a session at all it's just
01:01:37Tyler's future what's next for him after
01:01:41all of that and I like to think about
01:01:44all of these later projects from Tyler
01:01:47being part of the next day and it makes
01:01:51sense when you see how much he grown
01:01:54with his music over the years anyway
01:01:56that's my take on all of this and I'm
01:01:59really interested to see yours also this
01:02:03is why I make these videos it's to have
01:02:05goddamn conversations in the comments
01:02:08about about this great music I've had a
01:02:11lot of fun making this video and I hope
01:02:14you've had as much fun watching it let
01:02:17me know if I should do this again in the
01:02:20same fashion and I guess I'll see you
