00:05The Push upgrade process is designed to be easy enough to complete on your own
00:10even if you have no experience with this kind of task.
00:13It should take you a maximum of 30 minutes.

00:23Follow these instructions to upgrade your Push 3 to a standalone instrument.

00:39Scan the code on the box to get instructions to upgrade your Push.
00:51Prepare a clean, flat surface to work on.
00:57Lay everything out and check that you have all of the contents listed on the box.
01:07Leave the screws in their packaging until you’re instructed to use them.
01:11Place the provided mat on your work surface.
01:15Make sure your Push is turned off and the power supply is removed.
01:22Place your Push face-down on the mat.
01:31If you’re not already sitting, take a seat and wait for ten seconds –
01:36– this will allow any electrostatic charge to dissipate.
01:41Step 2: Unscrew backplate
01:51First, unscrew all the outer screws from the backplate with the provided screwdriver and set them aside.
02:32Next, unscrew the three smaller middle screws and keep them separate from the others.
02:49Step 3: Remove hole covers and lift the backplate
02:54Remove the five hole covers from the backplate.
03:05Dispose of them in an appropriate plastic recycling bin.
03:18Screw the backplate lifter into the hole below the left foot
03:22that’s furthest away from you
03:24until you see the backplate start to rise.
03:30Put the backplate to one side.
03:34Step 4: Insert the processor
03:57Hold the processor at a 45-degree angle
04:01and slide it into the top connector from the right-hand side.
04:07Guide the Wi-Fi antennas into their tracks.
04:23Screw in the two provided processor screws.
04:27Note that these screws won’t be flush with the surface of the processor when screwed in correctly.
04:34Insert the top Wi-Fi antenna into the track by sliding your finger along the groove.
04:41Insert the plastic end piece into the top slot.
04:44If the slot feels tight, gently pull on the side wall of your Push to give the plastic end piece room to slide in.
04:54Carefully remove the film from the heat pad on the top of the processor.
05:03Step 5: Insert the memory card
05:27Hold the memory card at a 30-degree angle and slide it into the connector from the right-hand side.
05:35With one hand, press the small plastic tab to the side.
05:39With the other hand, press down on the memory card until it clicks into place.
05:45Don’t be afraid to apply pressure.
05:48Step 6: Insert the battery
06:14Remove the battery spacer and dispose of it in an appropriate plastic recycling bin.
06:21Insert the battery with the text facing up.
06:37Screw the battery screw into the hole on the right-hand side of the battery.
06:41Make sure to use the dedicated battery screw.
06:54Step 7: Re-attach the backplate
06:59Position the backplate so that the three middle holes are on the bottom half.
07:04Place the backplate flat onto the back of your Push
07:15Start screwing the outer screws in just enough to bring the backplate into the frame.
07:25Tighten the outer screws until you meet resistance.
07:45Then, re-insert the three smaller middle screws.
07:56Step 8: Attach heatsink
08:19Carefully remove the film from the heat pad on the heatsink.
08:28Place the heatsink on the backplate,
making sure you align the five holes.
09:02Screw the five heatsink screws into the heatsink, tightening firmly.
09:22Step 9: Getting started
09:26Turn your Push over so that it’s right-side up.
09:38Plug in your Push’s power supply.
09:41You’ll only need to do this to activate the battery the first time you power on your Push.
09:59It takes 2–3 minutes to turn on the first time.
10:03The first time you use your Push, you’ll need to perform an additional step to properly calibrate the battery.
10:11Charge it completely, and then unplug the power adaptor and use or leave Push on until the battery is fully discharged.
10:28When your Push powers on, follow the steps on the screen.
10:33Then listen to our demo set and enjoy your standalone instrument.
