00:05In this video, let's take a look at how you can utilize these

00:08ports to record multiple sources of audio at the same time.

00:12ADAT is a technology that allows you to expand the number of inputs

00:16and outputs Push has with the use of an ADAT enabled audio interface

00:20or a specific ADAT expansion module.

00:22It allows for a maximum of eight additional input or output sources.

00:26When recording this could be four stereo instruments or eight mono

00:30instruments, or a combination of both mono and stereo sources.

00:34For this demonstration, I'm going to record several audio sources

00:37simultaneously, directly into Push using an ADAT enabled device.

00:43With the ADAT enabled on my interface

00:45I'll first connect the ADAT ports using ADAT cable.

00:48ADAT expanders, or audio interfaces with ADAT capability, may work differently

00:54from manufacturer to manufacturer.

00:56Make sure that you check how to set up your module before you get started.

01:00In some cases you may even need to connect both ADAT ports to enable the

01:04ADAT recording for specific devices.

01:07Another important factor is to make sure that you're using the

01:09same sample rate for your ADAT interface as you are using in Push.

01:14I'd like to record some drum machines and some synthesizers simultaneously, so

01:19I'll need to set up my project on Push.

01:22In each of the audio tracks that I've set up, I've enabled the audio

01:25inputs in the mixer section on Push.

01:29In this particular case, I'm recording several stereo inputs and

01:33some mono inputs simultaneously.

01:37Each of the sources has been connected to the audio interface

01:40that is running in ADAT mode.

01:44As a last step, I'll go to the setup mode and disable the exclusive arming, which

01:48means that I can now arm several tracks at the same time, meaning that I can also

01:53record several tracks at the same time.

01:57I'll arm all the tracks that I wish to record, and then I'll press the

02:01record button to start the recording of all the tracks simultaneously.
