01:02it's an amazing song but it also might

01:08Palmer has an amazing voice on this he's
01:11got an incredible voice in general I
01:13love this song I think this is
01:14quintessential brilliant pop music all

04:05no he found the sense of fun in a
04:32so I don't so I honestly don't know
04:34anything about Kent how he does these
04:36videos he's clearly doing multiple
04:39angles he's clearly centering and doing
04:43a second take at least one second take
04:46where he really focuses in on his
04:49fingering which seems to be primarily
04:51for guitar players I have no idea what
04:53his tuning is oh tuning okay elist it
04:56yeah he's so he's doing so just so you
04:58know I'm in standard the way I was
05:00playing it uh a minor 7th D Minor 7th g
05:04c um but he is in the same key but he's
05:08open tuning still capod on
05:11one amazing so he must tune down it must
05:13just be for the acoustic cgd GCE got it
05:17okay and he lists his mic he lists his
05:19pickups there zero contact yeah those
05:22pickups are amazing the way he's able to
05:24just play that pickup like a snare and
05:31rhythmic and keep it simple sounding
05:33okay so just overall initial reaction is
05:36absolutely gorgeous I didn't realize he
05:38was going to be able to get all the
05:39little inflection and the vocal change
05:41and like the kind of sweet Melancholy
05:45sadness in this song this is a very kind
05:47of sad song it's a funny song but it's
05:50also a morose song like all Steely Dan
05:53it it doesn't land in any one section
05:56the second you think you're listening to
05:57one type of song they make sure you
05:59understand you're listening listening to
05:59a different type of song this is a pop
06:02standard this is blues this is jazz but
06:05there's also this great sense of fun
06:07it's a funny song because it's like it's
06:08about being in love with somebody
06:11but be but knowing they're terrible for
06:13you but not being able to get away it's
06:16kind of like the song Use Me by Bill
06:18Withers it's it's like you're you're you
06:21understand that you're being used but
06:23you you can't quit them you know like in
06:25the Brokeback Mountain Way like what an
06:30amazing rendition of this song when you
06:32talk about who are the best guitar
06:34players on YouTube I was familiar a
06:35little bit with Kent's stuff he's
06:38clearly doing multiple takes of this
06:40when I see that he has the uh second
06:42angle closeup on his fingers that
06:44doesn't match the original total angle
06:46one I know that he's not trying to hide
06:47anything he's like here how's I finger
06:49it just so you know and you can see
06:51exactly where my fingers are his fingers
06:53are right up against the Frets so it's
06:56sometimes a little bit harder from which
06:57as they should be by the way tonally but
07:00so it might be a little bit harder for
07:01guitar players if you're sitting back to
07:02see where his fingers land on the Frets
07:03so what he's doing is giving you a
07:05vision a a a version right up close on
07:08his fingernail on his fingers to know
07:10where they are on the fretboard the way
07:12he's able just to maintain that solid
07:15slow Rhythm throughout just with his
07:17thumb and do everything else the
07:19subtlety the it just there's a way in
07:22which he just has to kind of rock you
07:23and lullab you to sleep with the song
07:26but still impress you and still
07:27entertain you I adore the way he played
07:29this song I definitely want to do more

07:57he's just an amazingly poised performer
08:01I've seen a lot of different types of
08:02guitar players in my life a good guitar
08:04player can be a lot of different things
08:05they can be a swayer they can be like a
08:08a face maker they could be any type of
08:11uh guitar player they want to be but
08:13he's so still and poised and focused and
08:16he has such an a a a
08:18dedication to the Perfection with which
08:21he plays the exactitude with which he
08:24plays people are probably comparing him
08:26and and there's all these really
08:27incredible young players right now and
08:29YouTube they'll probably compare them to
08:30Marson they'll compare them to icha and
08:32they'll compare them to a lot of other
08:34amazing players but yet they all still
08:36have their incredibly unique personal
08:39style I love this I love the accessible
08:44open poppy sound of it but still the
08:46kind of meticulous classical inspired uh
08:50sound of it incredible Fusion here of a
08:53lot of different skill sets and just
08:55making it all seamless making it just
08:56seem like cream I love that we have
