00:22of you Landing a job and the overall
00:25value that it offers and we're going to
00:26be ranking all of these from 1 to 10 and

01:07now this is a certificate that's offered
01:08by Microsoft one of the biggest and most
01:10well-respected companies in the entire
01:12world and you can get started with it
01:14and try it out with a 7day free trial
01:16now this is a professional certificate
01:18program that is hosted on corera and
01:20it's an eight course Series so first
01:22let's talk about the time to completion
01:24now they say on the website it would
01:26take about 5 months if you did about 10
01:28hours per week now in experience with
01:30these certificates you can usually
01:32finish them much much faster than what
01:34they say on corsera so for instance with
01:35the Google It certificate a lot of
01:38people have talked about how they
01:39finished it in well under a month even
01:41though it technically says that it takes
01:42like 6 months okay that sounds pretty
01:44good so I wouldn't be surprised if most
01:46people can finish this certificate in
01:47under two months and if you compare this
01:49to something like a boot camp which
01:51typically is going to take anywhere from
01:523 months to 12 months or if you can
01:54compare it to a college degree which
01:56takes 5.1 years on average that's pretty
01:58good so overall when it comes to of the
02:00time to completion I'm going to give
02:01this one a 9 out of 10 next let's talk
02:03about the cost so you can try it out
02:05with a 7-Day free trial so you can try
02:07it out completely free and let's just
02:09say you're able to finish this in 2
02:11months corsera costs about $49 per month
02:13so that would cost you $98 and let's
02:16just say worst case scenario it takes
02:18you 5 months to finish it that would
02:21$250 I dig it now if you compare that to
02:24other certificates for instance like
02:25CompTIA a lot of the time those will
02:27cost like $1 to $2,000 if you you can
02:30compare it to boot camps those typically
02:33$30,000 and if you compare it to the
02:35average college degree that costs over
02:38$100,000 a bit much in it and that's not
02:40counting opportunity cost as well as the
02:42interest that you acrew if you put that
02:44in there it costs over $500,000 so $98
02:47or $250 worst case scenario is really
02:50really good and it's probably the most
02:52affordable way to learn a realistic
02:54skill like this that realistically has
02:56an opportunity of getting you a job so I
02:58have to give this one A1 out of 10 next
03:00let's talk about demand so anything
03:03that's data related has a ridiculous
03:06amount of Demand right now so if you
03:07look at BLS for instance they group a
03:09bunch of different data related careers
03:11together but data scientists for
03:13instance are growing at about 35% over
03:15the next 10 years which is much much
03:17faster than average and there's lots of
03:18different data related careers on
03:20LinkedIn that always have lots of job
03:22openings and this makes complete sense
03:24if you look at all the Articles and
03:25headlines they're always saying that
03:26data is more valuable than oil or gold
03:29which is completely true you know
03:31information is power and data is the
03:33purest form of information the most
03:34obvious example I can think of is let's
03:36just say you're a football fan and a
03:38company is advertising a 49ers jersey
03:41right 49ers are my favorite team if they
03:43just send it out to a million random
03:45people let's just say they make $100,000
03:48but if you send it out to a million
03:4949ers fans you're probably going to make
03:52something more like $10 million right so
03:54you're going to make 100x more money if
03:56you have that data of knowing that
03:58someone is a $49 ners fan that's a very
04:00simple example but I think you get the
04:02point that is why data is so valuable
04:05knowing is owning so when it comes to
04:07demand data is one of the most valuable
04:09skills you can learn I will give this
04:10one a 9 out of 10 opportunity score next
04:13let's talk about salary so data analysts
04:16according to glass door make about
04:17$77,000 a year this is one of those
04:19entry-level jobs that you could get data
04:21engineer is a higher level job and in
04:23that one they make about
04:24$117,000 a year jackpot but with that
04:28being said the barrier to entry is going
04:30to be a bit higher for this one it is
04:32kind of difficult to get a data analyst
04:34job at the entry level like you really
04:36do have to know your stuff but if you
04:38know your stuff the salary is very good
04:40I'll give this one an 8 out of 10
04:42opportunity score now let's talk about
04:44the production value and engagement of
04:46the course and since this one just came
04:48out there's not a lot of information out
04:50there on it and also this is extremely
04:51subjective in general but with that
04:53being said the way corsera does these
04:55courses with their professional
04:56certificate program almost all of them
04:58are really really good they get
05:00overwhelmingly positive reviews even the
05:03ones that are rated lower still get
05:05overwhelmingly positive reviews
05:06especially when you consider how
05:07affordable it is so I can't give this
05:09one a rating right now I'll give it
05:11question mark out of 10 but with that
05:13being said if you're watching this in
05:14the future just go check it out they
05:16have the reviews right there you can
05:17also look up reviews on Reddit and
05:19typically you're going to see really
05:20good things next let's talk about the
05:22chances of Landing you a job now
05:25realistically speaking when it comes to
05:26data related jobs if you just have this
05:29certificate and the only thing you have
05:31I'm just being honest your chances of
05:32Landing a job are going to be very low
05:35why I think it's going to be much
05:36smarter if you supplement this with some
05:38other skills and also if you create a
05:40really good portfolio now the great
05:42thing about these professional
05:43certificates is they have you do
05:44projects so that is going to be a great
05:46way for you to start your portfolio out
05:48but you probably want to take it a
05:49little bit further and add to your
05:50portfolio on top of this but some
05:52awesome stuff that they do is a resume
05:54review so they review your resume to
05:55make sure it looks good they also give
05:57you interview preps to make sure that
05:58you're ready for the interviews and they
06:00give you career support so that on top
06:02of expert training on skills that are in
06:04demand right now from a company that is
06:06one of the most well-respected and
06:08biggest companies in the world and from
06:10people working at that company that know
06:12what skills are really in demand right
06:14now that is super super valuable also a
06:17lot of people will be taking this
06:18certificate that are working in other
06:20careers and they're trying to enhance
06:21their skills so for instance you might
06:23be working in it and you want to add
06:25data analytics to your skill set so in
06:27that case your chances of Landing a job
06:28would be much higher but overall when it
06:30comes to the chances of Landing you a
06:31job I'm going to give this one 8 out of

06:53analysis and visualization with powerbi
06:55course six is creative designing in
06:57powerbi course seven is deploy and Main
06:59maintain powerbi assets and Capstone
07:01project and course eight is Microsoft
07:03pl300 exam preparation and practice on
07:06top of that like I mentioned before they
07:08do a resume review interview prep and
07:10they do career support and they say what
07:12you'll learn is learn to use powerbi to
07:14connect data sources and transform them

07:55definitely want to supplement this with
07:56a really good portfolio try to do some
07:58extra projects s and also learn some
08:00complimentary skill sets but the overall
08:02score for this one is a very healthy
08:048.67 out of 10 and it gets a big thumbs
08:08up from me and overall I think if you
08:10understand the value that certificates
08:12and certificate programs provide you're
08:14not going to be disappointed if you
08:15think that this certificate program is a
08:17replacement for a college degree that's
08:19just not true that's like saying a
08:21hammer is a replacement for a drill
08:23Hammers and drills are used for
08:25completely different things and if the
08:26job requires you to nail something in
08:28then a hammer is going to be great but
08:30if it requires you to screw something in
08:31then you're probably going to want a
08:32drill or a screwdriver right so as long
08:34as you understand what you're getting
08:36into and understand the value
08:37proposition that provides you this is
08:39going to be a great value for you and
08:41let's be honest at $49 a month you're
08:43really not risking much here especially
