00:17Compass going through some gear here for

00:19your listening and dining pleasure uh

00:21this is the 52 reissue

00:24telecaster and uh this guitar is um very

00:28similar to one that you would go into a

00:30by back in 1952 except of course the

00:32real 52 instrument right now would be

00:35worth an unbelievable amount of money

00:38but uh that's where this guitar comes in

00:40you can get the sound feel and look of a

00:42brand new 52 Telecaster without having

00:45to indulge in perhaps some kind of

00:47organized crime in order to afford one

00:49which is always good uh this guitar some

00:52of the uh delicious features of course

00:54it's a ash body delicious swamp Ash

00:57which is kind of a tongue twister uh and

01:00a maple neck it's got the old radius uh

01:02seven and a quarter inch radius with the

01:04smaller

01:05Frets uh it comes just as the old ones

01:08would with the uh back in the day the

01:10toggle switch was kind of a a strange

01:12deal uh in the back you had the back

01:14pickup in the middle position it was

01:17this pickup the neck pickup and then

01:18here it's the neck pickup with a little

01:21bit of the tone control rolled off so

01:23you get this kind of

01:25n presumably because someone was playing

01:28like

01:31doing some kind of bass thing while some

01:32other guys

01:34going crazy kids back in the 50s what

01:36were they thinking anyways but then over

01:38the years what people did is of course

01:40they swapped out this particular control

01:42so that it would be back pickup in the

01:44middle it would be both pickups and then

01:46this would be this pickup by itself so

01:48you can definitely do that with this

01:49guitar as well but they thought they

01:50would be true to history and so when

01:52they send it to you it's in the old

01:56posion uh and some great things about

01:58our friendly neighborhood Telecaster of

01:59course

02:21stuff and what I really like about the

02:23older style telecasters I like the

02:25rounded off uh volume and tone controls

02:27like they have on the 50s telecasters uh

02:30I also like the fact that the old tone

02:31pot gives you that kind

02:40it's kind of a nervous tick thing I have

02:49go you get the idea so if you're looking

02:54Telecaster uh but can't afford all the

02:57dough but you really want it how it was

02:59back in the day without going so far as

03:01to getting a custom shop instrument

03:02which again is a whole another cost
