00:00In this video, we're going to take a look at linked tracks.

00:04Using the Link Track feature allows you to adjust multiple tracks

00:08to edit or adjust parameters. A great use for this feature

00:12is when you've recorded multiple sources at the same time.

00:17So for example, in this case, I have a multi mic recording

00:21of some drums in this project.

00:24Linking tracks is a very simple procedure in the arrangement view.

00:29All I have to do is select the tracks I'd like to link together,

00:33right click to access the context menu and select Link Tracks.

00:38When tracks have been successfully linked together, there's a small icon indicating

00:42linked tracks in the top right-hand corner of each track.

00:46Now, if I go into my Arrangement View and select any of the clips from the linked tracks,

00:51all of the linked tracks are highlighted.

00:56With the tracks linked, you can now perform all kinds of edits to all the linked tracks. For example...

01:06Splitting and deleting selections.

01:13Reversing selections.

01:19Or adding cross-fades and fades.

01:28And even renaming selections.

01:42You can also manipulate warp markers and warp parameters of all linked tracks.

01:51Another great feature of Linked Tracks is the ability to adjust parameters in the mixer section.

01:56By selecting one of the tracks in a Link Track selection,

02:00you're able to adjust the mixer parameters of that particular track.

02:04In this state, you can continue to work on other individual tracks and adjust their mixer parameters.

02:20If you wish to work on all of the linked tracks at the same time,

02:24simply click on the Link Track icon and adjust their parameters.

02:31This allows for a great amount of flexibility

02:34for you to either adjust individual parameters in the mixer section,

02:37or adjust them all collectively together.

02:41Not only can you link together Audio tracks, but you can also link together MIDI tracks.

02:46or a combination of MIDI and Audio tracks.

02:59As a final technique, Link Tracks can also be used to comp together

03:04several takes from several tracks simultaneously.
