00:04submitted to god you've got to be
00:08hebrews 5 1 tells us how jesus prayed it
00:11says during the days of jesus's life on
00:14he offered prayers and petitions with
00:16loud cries and with tears
00:18to the one who could save him from death
00:21oh man this is good preaching tonight he
00:25because of his reverent submission this
00:29bible tells us how jesus got his prayers
00:32this is showing us jesus lived a life of
00:34prayer and notice what the bible says
00:36it says he offered up prayers this is
00:39he offered up prayers with loud cries
00:42and with tears now some of you might say
00:44isaiah why are you so loud
00:46well you got to realize when the bible
00:47says the prophet spoke god would tell
00:49him to shout the message when it was
00:51but not only that jesus cried out when
00:54loud in his prayers now why would we cry
00:57out in prayer why would we lift our
00:59the same reason why a baby cries it's to
01:02get the attention of the parent remember
01:05our cries get his attention now if
01:08you're a parent and you're in this
01:10you know how hard it is to ignore a baby
01:12five minutes go by the baby's crying and
01:14you tell your husband or wife all right
01:15i'm gonna give the baby five more
01:16minutes if it cries for five more
01:17minutes we're gonna go pick her up
01:18if she cries for ten more minutes we're
01:20gonna go get her because after an hour
01:21you can't handle anymore you're not
01:22gonna let your baby cry for an hour
01:24i'm in the same way god says i'm hearing
01:27as you cry as you're persistent as you
01:31i respond to your prayers jesus cried
01:34and you didn't just cry out the bible
01:36says he prayed with tears
01:38psalms 56 8 says you keep track of all
01:43you've collected all of my tears in your
01:46and you've recorded each one in your
01:48book so god collects
01:50tears when we pray sometimes you don't
01:52know how to pray and you might be in
01:54here saying i say i don't know how to
01:55pray for my marriage
01:56isaiah i'm so broken i'm so hurting i'm
01:58so lost i don't know how to pray for
02:00i don't know how to pray for this job my
02:02family's not saved my friends aren't
02:04i don't know what to do i don't know how
02:05to pray and my response to you is have
02:08you tried tears there's nothing like
02:11moves god saves our tears the bible says
02:15and sometimes when i'm in prayer and i
02:17just start to cry i don't know why
02:19there's something happening in me that
02:21transcends the natural understanding
02:23so don't hold back crying is not a sign
02:26jesus prayed with tears i want you to
02:29know what it says though
02:30it says jesus was heard this is why not
02:33because he was god's son
02:35because of his reverent submission to
02:38his prayers were heard because he was
02:41fully submitted to the father
02:43if you want your prayers heard guys
02:45these are secrets here
02:46if you want your prayers heard you need
02:49to live a life submitted to god now some
02:50of you're not you're not submitted to
02:53yet you want god to answer you you do
02:55your own thing you make your own
02:57you don't ask god you don't inquire
02:59you're not submitted you're not under
03:02and so god is not answering your prayers
03:06live out a practical life of submission
03:08well matthew chapter 26 verses 39 and
03:12it says and when he went a little beyond
03:13them and fell on his face praying
03:15saying my father if it is possible let
03:19pass from me yet not as i will but as
03:22your will and then the bible says he
03:24went again a second time and prayed
03:26my father if this cannot pass away
03:30your will be done how did jesus live a
03:34he said god even though i don't want to
03:37do this even though i don't want to go
03:38to the cross and be separated and take
03:41if you're wondering what was in the cup
03:43that he didn't want to drink it was the
03:46in the cup that was poured out on his
03:49and the bible says it pleased god to
03:51pour his wrath out on the sun
03:52and jesus says i don't want to drink the
03:54full wrath of god so it's possible not
03:57but you know what lord if this is your
03:59will let your will be done
04:01this was jesus submitting to god
04:04and saying lord even if i don't want to
04:06get on this broadcast every night come
04:08and share your word even if i'm too
04:12or even if i don't have the energy or
04:14effort to go get on the plane and fly
04:15across the country to go preach to your
04:17i don't really feel it but let your will
04:19be done this is living a submitted life
04:22that you say god if you want me to move
04:24tomorrow i'll sell everything i'll sell
04:25the dream house i'll get rid of the
04:27i'll sell the dream car i'll go move
04:29wherever you want me to move i'll do
04:30whatever you want me to do
04:32this is living a submitted life and the
04:33bible says jesus got his prayers heard
04:36because he lived a submitted life so
04:38when we pray for anything we need to
04:39begin to ask ourselves
04:40am i praying this thing because i want
04:44or because god wants it reverent
04:47means you saying to god not as my will
04:50but your will be done it consists of us
04:53literally renouncing our own will and
04:56embracing the will of god i'm giving you
04:58guys practical stuff no one's going to
05:00it's embracing god's will denying your
05:03will and saying god whatever you want to
05:05that's why ephesians 3 20 says now to
05:07him who is able to do more abundantly
05:09beyond all that we can ask or think
05:11according to the power
05:13that works within us god's wills god's
05:16will friend listen very closely
05:17is a thousand times greater than ours
05:20you might say well i have this dream and
05:21god wants to remove this
05:22listen my dream was to be a police
05:24officer since i was a kid and my whole
05:26life i want to be a police officer well
05:27when i went to college i went to college
05:29to be a police officer graduated with a
05:31in administration of justice would you
05:34what the first thing god says to me when
05:37god begins to talk to me isaiah you're
05:39not going to be a police officer and god
05:40removed every desire it had to be a
05:42police officer and i had to say this
05:44not my will be done but your will be
05:47listen friend what god has given me is a
05:51okay let me rephrase that 100 million
05:54times better than the life i had planned
05:56as a police officer living a normal life
06:00does exceedingly unlimited above so
06:03oh the will of god is boring for my life
06:05i'd rather just go do my own thing
06:07god says no my ways are a thousand times
06:10better than what you had planned
06:11when god tell us we're gonna stream and
06:14friend listen there's 3 000 of you

07:31you have to have faith hebrews 11 6.
07:33without faith it's impossible to please

07:37believe that he exists
07:39and that he rewards those who earnestly
07:41seek him so hebrews 11
07:426 gives us two conditions
07:45two conditions to having faith number
07:47one is that god exists which i hope you

09:07you've got to believe this if you're

09:18i've had it will i find faith when i
09:21the power of faith is so hard to
09:22describe because you have to understand
09:25that faith is unmeasurable that one
09:28can move a mountain so i thank god that
09:31the new testament doesn't just tell us
09:33have faith but the new testament tells
09:37because you might be in this broadcast
09:38and you say i believe god exists i
09:39believe he honors those earnestly seek
09:41him but how do i have faith if faith is
09:43the motivating the moving power behind
09:45my prayers being answered
09:47how do i have faith very simple the
09:49bible tells us how it doesn't just say
09:52it says in romans 10 17 faith comes from
09:56and hearing by the word of god so you
10:00praise god you can get it you might be
10:01here tonight i have no faith well here's
10:04here's how it comes it comes from
10:05hearing it comes from
10:07listening to god which we talked about
10:09last week prayer is not just
10:11talking to god prayer is a two-way
10:14and when i speak to god and god speaks
10:18my faith is increased giving my prayers
10:21the thrust that they need
10:23to be answered it's holding this
10:25intimate personal conversation with god
10:27and actually what god says and has to
10:30more important than what i have to say
10:32to him when god speaks to you in prayer
10:34it gives you the faith you need that's
10:36what faith comes comes by hearing
10:38if you say isaiah i don't know the will
10:40of god so how can i pray the will of god
10:42you find the will of god in the word of
10:45god that's where god's will is found
10:47so the more you get into scripture the
10:49more you read the bible the more you'll
10:51know god's will for your life
10:52god's will for your family god's will
10:56you'll be able to have the faith you
10:57need to pray his will so faith comes by
10:59hearing hearing comes by the word of god
11:01the more we know of scripture the
11:03greater our capacity is
11:05to be able to hear the voice of god so
11:08you cannot understand how important it
11:10is that you have faith you cannot
11:12understand how important it is that you
11:14intimately and you know god personally
11:16and this is by getting in the word and
11:17hearing the voice of god so number two
11:19number three oh this is so good i'm
11:21blessing myself tonight
11:23number three condition that has to be
11:25met to your prayer to be answered
11:26is you need to be praying in the name of
11:29jesus write this down y'all i'm telling
11:31you guys gonna change your life
11:32praying in the name of jesus john 16 23
11:36truly truly i say to you if you ask the
11:40for anything in my name he will give it
11:45until now you've asked for nothing in my
11:48ask and you shall receive what is the
11:50key to having your prayer answered you
11:52praying in the name of jesus when we
11:54pray in the name of jesus
11:56we're going not in our power but in
11:59and the power of what jesus did on the
12:03he took on our sin and we took on his
12:07and now we are eligible to approach the
12:09throne of god which otherwise we had
12:11zero access to friend apart from the
12:14shed blood of jesus you had no
12:15access to the throne of god but now we
12:17have direct access to god
12:19that is the essence of imputed
12:21righteousness we have the righteousness
12:23of christ god took our
12:24on jesus took our unrighteousness on the
12:26cross we took his righteousness
12:28so righteousness if you're new it just
12:30means right standing
12:31it means me and god are in right
12:33standing we're in right standing because
12:34of what jesus did on the cross
12:36it's like if you have a beef with your
12:37friend and you're kind of like have a
12:39weirdness and you get around them you're
12:40after like a month goes by you see them
12:42at the at the party or the park or the
12:44and you're like hey are we cool because
12:46there's been a weirdness between us
12:48see what the blood of jesus did is it
12:50took the weirdness away because the
12:52we are hostile we are enemies with god
12:54we are separated because of our sin
12:56jesus came shed his blood and restored
12:59to us that relationship
13:01and we don't have beef with god anymore
13:02we're not separated with god anymore but
13:04we have direct access and relationship
13:07through imputed righteousness also write
13:10when we pray in the name of jesus we are
13:12praying with his authority
13:14it's like if you had a friend who's a
13:15police officer and one day you go to
13:17their house you put on their police
13:19you put on their police badge and you
13:21went in the middle of traffic
13:22and you started directing traffic even
13:24though you're not really an officer
13:26even though you never went to training
13:28even though you didn't graduate the
13:30when you go to go direct traffic people
13:33are going to listen and respect you
13:34why because of the uniform and the badge
13:38this is what happens when we put on
13:40christ even though in our own selves we
13:42don't have no power we don't have no
13:44when we put on christ we put on the
13:46badge in the uniform were coming in his
13:49and so people respond demons respond
13:52this is why demons have to obey us
13:53because we come in his name
13:55even the demons obey us when we cast
13:57them out in your name it's in the power
14:00it's that level of authority that we
14:04demons were powerless because of his
14:06name mark 16 17 demons are cast
14:08out in his name acts 3 6 healing
14:11occurred in the name of jesus
14:13acts 4 12 salvation comes in the name of
14:17we are baptizing in his name first
14:20corinthians 6 11 we're justified in his
14:22colossians 3 17 everything we do or say
14:25is in the name of jesus
14:27when i pray his name i'm declaring to
14:30myself oh man this is good preaching
14:33that i have no power and i'm relying on
14:36it's like a bride listen very closely
14:38i'm trying to help you tonight
14:40it's like a bride that has no money that
14:43and takes on his name everything he has
14:46becomes hers and in one second when she
14:51she goes from being poor homeless and
14:55to wealthy and influential just by
14:58changing her name oh i feel the fire of
15:00god this is what happens
15:02in the name of jesus everything that
15:05now belongs to us and i'm able to now
15:09say god i approach your throne i have
15:11all things to pertain to life and
15:12godliness i can be bold
15:14i can cast out demons i can lay hands on
15:16the sick not in the name of isaiah
15:18salvador but in the name of jesus
15:20there is power in his name so you're not
15:24you're not weak okay you're not you know
15:27whatever belongs to you her belongs to
15:30me whatever belongs to me belongs to him
15:32listen my wife is a stay-at-home mom we
15:34don't have separate bank accounts
15:36whatever's in my bank account whatever
15:38income comes in whatever money i make
15:40my wife who's a stay-at-home mom has 100
15:44so all of my money is also her money why
15:47because we have the same last name
15:49because we are in covenant and so you
15:51don't even have to do anything you can
15:53be stay-at-home mom raise the kids
15:55and really she works probably ten times
15:56harder than me okay and there's just
15:58points right there i just scored praise
15:59the lord but you can do all you want to
16:02i'll take care of everything else
16:03because your name and my name are the
16:06and you have access to everything that
16:09from you got to understand everything
16:13you now have access to because of his
16:15name you got his name now okay
16:18number four write this down we're almost
16:21is approaching god boldly number four
16:24condition to have your prayer met
16:25is approaching god boldly now this is a
16:28major way of getting your prayers
16:29answered is by not coming to god
16:31timid hebrews 4 16 says therefore let us
16:34draw near with confidence
16:36to the throne of grace so that way we
16:39and find grace to help in a time of need
16:42so you have to understand that we're not
16:44we're not just going to somebody random
16:46we're going to someone that's sitting on
16:48a throne he's not weak
16:50he's not unable he's not unstable i
16:53think sometimes we don't realize the god
16:54that we're praying to
16:56he's not just a king he is the king
16:59all kings he's not just a lord he is the
17:03every lord our god reigns supreme over
17:06the heavens and the earth obey him we
17:08are praying to somebody
17:10that has complete power and authority to
17:12do anything we ask them
17:14that seated high and lifted up on a
17:16throne and notice it says and i'll put
17:19in the description right after the video
17:22a throne of grace and this is the key
17:25because grace goes beyond what we
17:27so he's not answering our prayers
17:28because we deserve for them to be
17:30he's answering them because grace says
17:33i'll do it even when you don't deserve
17:35it he says you'll find grace
17:36to help in a time of need prayer is for
17:40some of us only pray in a time of need
17:42but we need to learn to pray when things
17:45and pray when things are going good
17:46hebrews 10 19 and also verse 22
17:49says therefore brother and sins we have
17:51confidence to enter the holy place by
17:54let us draw near with sincere heart and
17:56full assurance of faith
17:57so what gives us access to boldly
18:00through the blood of jesus the blood of
18:04gives us the power to boldly approach
18:05him so we have confidence
18:07full assurance so don't be timid when
18:09you pray don't be shy when you pray
18:11don't be quiet when you pray don't be
18:14be bold in your prayers be confident in
18:18know that there is power when you
18:20approach his throne so you don't have to
18:22limp to the throne of god you don't have
18:24to like wobble or crawl and say
18:26lord i've been sinning and i'm insane
18:27and i'm this and i jesus you know
18:29you can boldly come before be before me
18:31because the blood of jesus
18:33has made an opportunity for you to come
18:35before the lamb for you to come before
18:37the father for you to come before the
18:39holy spirit the blood of jesus gives us
18:41full access to the godhead full access
18:43to the father son of the holy spirit
18:45full access to the place of prayer when
18:47we we weren't able to pray
18:49now we're able to boldly go before god
18:51this is something that cannot be
18:53this is a must okay number five number
18:55five get your pens out
18:56number five conv condition is having the
19:00the bible says god searches the thoughts
19:02and the intents of our hearts
19:04and discerns our motives so he's not
19:06concerned with what we ask when we pray
19:09he's concerned why we're asking what
19:11we're asking he's concerned with our
19:13that's why james 4 2 says you do not
19:16because you do not ask and then when you
19:19do ask you don't receive so james is
19:22why are prayers not being answered watch
19:24what james says he says you don't
19:26because you ask with wrong motives so
19:30that you may spend it on your pleasures
19:32so one simple reason why we don't have
19:34the things god wants us to have is
19:36because we don't ask
19:37but if we do ask and we still don't
19:39receive it's because we're praying with
19:41wrong motives particularly the motive
19:44that james saying is wrong
19:45is that we want stuff to spend on our
19:47pleasures in other words
19:48our prayers are self-centered our
19:50motives are wrong and we're simply
19:52aiming to get something of our own
19:54comfort and personal satisfaction
19:56so then the question has to be this what
19:58are the right motives when we're praying
20:00i'm glad you asked jesus tells us
20:02in john 14 13 he says whatever you ask
20:05in my name that will i do
20:07so that the father may be glorified
20:10in the son so what are the right motives
20:13to ask in prayer i'm giving it to you
20:15guys i'm helping myself tonight this is
20:18the right motives are will the answer to
20:21prayer i'm just slow down here as you
20:22get this will the answer to this
20:25prayer bring glory to god or
20:28bring glory to me so if you're asking
20:30god to do something ask yourself this
20:32well the answer to this prayer bring
20:36and if it doesn't bring glory to god
20:39you're praying for your own pleasure and
20:41you're praying a mistake and god is not
20:42going to answer the prayer
20:43so if you're praying for a spouse are
20:45you praying for a spouse
20:46so you won't be lonely and single
20:48anymore or do you want to help me
20:50that could further help you fulfill the
20:52calling god has in your life and you can
20:53serve god better together and you can be
20:56of the marriage that god has with his
20:59it's okay to have motives like i don't
21:02want to be this or that
21:03but that can't be the driving force of
21:05your prayer your prayers have to be
21:07i want to do this to bring glory to god
21:09if you're praying for a job
21:11it's not just so you can provide for
21:12your family it has to also be
21:14god i want you to use me so that i can
21:16sew into ministries with the finances
21:18and i can reach people at my job and i
21:21can honor and glorify you
21:23at my job i'm not saying get on a table
21:24tomorrow and get fired at work
21:26i'm saying do we live this lifestyle i
21:28hope you guys are hearing me type one if
21:29you understand what i'm saying
21:30are we living this lifestyle where we're
21:31saying every prayer i pray
21:33will the answer bring glory to god every
21:35situation so when i'm praying for an
21:37unsafe family member
21:38i know that if god answers and saves
21:39them it's gonna bring glory to him
21:42if i'm praying for a miracle i know that
21:43i'm not going to take credit for it it's
21:45going to bring glory to him when i'm
21:46praying for deliverance it's not to get
21:47a clip or a video or
21:49views it's so that they can be free and
21:53will bring honor and glory to god and
21:55they can better serve god
21:56so think about this every prayer you've
22:00is it for you or is it for them is it
22:02for you or is it for god's kingdom
22:04every prayer we have to pray just like
22:06the job of the holy spirit is to bring
22:07honor and glory to god okay
22:08we're almost done here number six we
22:10have two more number six write this down
22:13if you want to get your prayers answered
22:14i promise you i could literally promise
22:16you these will work because they're in
22:18the word of god i'm giving you verses
22:19for every single thing that i'm telling
22:21number six forgive those who
22:24have hurt you write that down forgive
22:26those that have hurt you
22:28in the sermon on the mountain matthew
22:30chapter six one of the things jesus
22:32taught us is to to say is forgive us our
22:36or our trespasses as we forgive our
22:39debtors or those that trespass against
22:41now this is an important condition to
22:43having your prayers answered because
22:45write this down will prevent your
22:47prayers from being answered
22:49jesus has limited us to asking god for
22:53only in the proportion or the portion
22:56others so do not be asking god to
22:58forgive you of something
22:59if you're not willing to forgive others
23:01remember my friend that this is not an
23:04this is a decision forgiveness is not an
23:08i'll i'll do it when i fill it you're
23:09not gonna fill it okay it's a decision i
23:12to tear up the iou somebody owes you
23:15three thousand dollars
23:16you tear it up because you don't know
23:19how much you because you have to
23:21they owe you three thousand dollars but
23:23you owe god ten million dollars and
23:25here's what god says
23:26if you tear up their three thousand
23:29i'll tear up your 10 million dollar iou
23:32but if you don't tear up the three
23:34thousand dollars bill that they owe you
23:36i'm not going to tear up the 10 million
23:37dollar debt you owe me so god's law
23:40is unchangeable and god's law says i
23:43demand you to forgive them
23:45for me to even be able to forgive you
23:47the last petition in the lord's prayer
23:50is deliverance from satan he says this
23:51deliver us from the evil one that's the
23:54so you and i have no right to pray for
23:57until we forgive others as we would have
24:01mark 11 25 write this down jesus said
24:04and whenever you stand
24:05praying if you have anything against
24:08anyone okay he covers everything
24:10forgive him so if you have unforgiveness
24:13and you're standing there praying
24:15god says don't even waste your time
24:17jesus goes don't even waste your time
24:19if you have any unforgiveness towards
24:20anybody you need to go forgive them
24:22so let it go tear up the iou
24:26and forgive the person also if you have
24:29resentment or unforgiveness towards your
24:31spouse let me just show you a scary
24:33first peter 3 7 husbands in the same way
24:37be considerate as you live with your
24:39wives and treat them
24:40what the respect of as the weaker
24:42partner and heirs with you
24:44of the gracious gift of life so that
24:48will hinder your prayers so what is
24:51he says look if you don't know how to
24:53treat your husband or wife don't even
24:54waste your time praying
24:56because if there's no mutual respect in
24:58your marriage relationship
24:59god is not going to answer your prayers
25:01so you being angry or bitter or
25:03resentful or mean or having a being
25:06all this stuff that you are mr grumpy
25:08pants that's going to hinder your
25:10prayers from being answered
25:11now ladies if you're one that always has
25:14contention you're nagging you're bitter
25:15you're angry you're never happy you're
25:18you're hard to satisfy and you're always
25:19just rubbing things the wrong way and
25:21you're you're hard on your husband
25:23your prayers are going to be entered
25:24hindered we need to have mutual respect
25:27so that our prayers are not hindered
25:28this is very important okay number seven
25:32be led by the spirit or
25:35pray in the spirit write that down
25:36there's the last one we're going to end
25:37the seventh condition
25:39to getting your prayers answered are
25:41being led by the spirit or by praying in
25:42the spirit romans 8 14
25:44says for as many are led by the spirit
25:47these are the sons of god and the greek
25:50this is the translation
25:51as many as are regularly led by the
25:54they are the sons of god so how do you
25:57live a daily life as a son and daughter
25:59of god in this wicked world
26:01is by being regularly and continually
26:04led by the holy spirit romans 8 26 says
26:08the spirit helps in our weaknesses
26:11for when we don't know what we should
26:12pray for as we ought to pray
26:14the spirit himself makes intercession
