00:00remember the legacy of ibraim and of Haj
00:03is go through their footsteps if not
00:05physically at least mentally derive from
00:08their lives the concept of of of of of
00:12sacrifice of giving up for the sake of
00:15Allah so that you too can attain some of
00:20Baraka dear Muslims we are about to
00:23enter the most sacred 10 days of the
00:27entire year the 10 days of
00:31and these are the days that we should
00:33reflect and remind ourselves not only of
00:37the blessings of these days but also of
00:40the story the origin of where and how
00:43these days became so sacred because it
00:46was during these days thousands of years
00:49ago that the prophet
00:51ibraim did certain actions and rituals
00:57ibraim legislated for us what what we
01:00now do in the rights of Hajj and Allah
01:03subhanahu wa taala earmarked those very
01:06footsteps that ibraim and ha and is they
01:11did the piety of one person the rituals
01:15of one person the sacrifice of one
01:18person the legacy of one person has been
01:22etched into our Shar and Allah subhanahu
01:25wa taala blessed his piety so that
01:28millions of people people around the
01:30world commemorate that piety they walk
01:34in his footsteps they remind themselves
01:37of the legacy of the prophet
01:39ibraim and so in today's brief it is
01:43relevant that we remind ourselves why is
01:47ibraim such a high role model the one
01:51person in the whole Quran that our nebi
01:54sallallah alaihi wasallam is told to
01:57take as a role model I repeat our
02:00Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam is
02:02told to take as a role model his own
02:05father his own ancestor the prophet
02:09alisam and ibraim alisam is mentioned
02:13over 70 times in the Quran and his story
02:17is a constant story that is mentioned in
02:19over a dozen places in fact one of the
02:22first stories in the Quran is the story
02:25of ibraim in the very first Pages ofah
02:28Bak the very first of Allah subhah waala
02:36says and recall Allah that Allah tested
02:40ibraim with many Commandments and ibraim
02:43fulfilled all of those Commandments and
02:47when ibraim fulfilled those Commandments
02:52says I will make you an Imam for all of
02:56mankind we have to ask ourselves why is
02:59Allah reminding us of these stories and
03:01Legacy and the response when we
03:04understand that when we follow the role
03:07model of the prophet ibraim and the
03:10prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasam
03:12Allah will also give us a legacy not
03:15like them they are prophets but this is
03:17how we carve out our own legacy this is
03:20how we fulfill the rights of the
03:23prophets on us by taking them as Role
03:25Models by learning their lives and
03:27histories by deriving lessons that help
03:30us in our daily lives and so when we
03:33take the prophets as role models we as
03:35well will get some of the Baraka some of
03:38the blessings they too were given what
03:41were some of the blessings what were
03:43some of the tests and trials that ibraim
03:47underwent because Allah says I tested
03:49ibraim and and ibraim passed every
03:52single test look at how many tests he
03:55had been given and of course in one we
03:57can only summarize some of them of the
03:59tests that were unique to him is that he
04:03was the only believer in Allah even
04:06before the Revelation began as a
04:08teenager as a young boy W had not come
04:12down upon Him Revelation had not yet
04:14begun his whole nation were idolators
04:17the world was a polytheistic Society but
04:21ibraim as a 11 12 year-old young child
04:25he knew that idolatry was wrong not only
04:27did he know it was wrong he stood stood
04:29up and he took a courageous stand and he
04:32demonstrated the falsity of worshiping
04:35other than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he
04:37challenged his entire nation of
04:40idolators he started with his own father
04:43how painful that must have been for a
04:45child he started with his own father and
04:48he started with wisdom he started with
04:50sound argumentation and most importantly
04:54with compassion and and AD and love he
04:57was not argumentative he was not
05:00arrogant he tried to reason in a loving
05:03manner yeah my dear father why would you
05:06worship that which is not going to
05:08benefit you or harm you y abti my dear
05:11father you're worshiping false gods y AB
05:14my dear father turn to Alman is the one
05:17that you should worship he keeps on
05:19trying and trying and his own father
05:21turns against him his own tribe turns
05:24against him the very King becomes
05:26involved and the King wants to make an
05:29example temp Le of this young boy and so
05:31the king threatens him if you don't
05:33leave your false ways the king says you
05:36shall be executed and despite being
05:38jailed despite being tortured as a
05:41teenager ibraim remains firm and as you
05:44know nud builds that fire three days and
05:47three nights to to try to persuade
05:50ibraim to stop ibraim does not stop and
05:53he is thrown into that fire without any
05:56helper other than Allah and that's when
06:04our Prophet S taught us when IIM was
06:07thrown into that fire that IM made this
06:10is the that he said he taught us because
06:13he wanted us as well to memorize this
06:15dick when the world has turned its back
06:18on you when there is no helper in this
06:20dun then you turn to Allah subhah wa
06:25say and when you demonstrate that IM and
06:28that then even the fire becomes a garden
06:32and even the punishment of men becomes
06:36Allah and so IIM is saved from that fire
06:39and he has no place to go and so he
06:42leaves his land he leaves his Nation he
06:44leaves his tribe and our Prophet
06:46sallallahu alaihi wasallam said the
06:48first human being who had to flee for
06:53ibraim nobody before him had to flee for
06:57his religion ibraim gave up his people
07:00he gave up his tribe he gave up his
07:03safety and Allah blessed him by being
07:06the most venerated human in all of human
07:09history it is true our Prophet
07:11sallallahu alaihi wasallam is the most
07:14chosen and it is true in terms of
07:16quality the praise our Nabi is given
07:19nobody else has given but in terms of
07:21quantity it is his father
07:23ibraim the Jewish people the Christian
07:26people the Muslim people that is 60% of
07:28the globe 60% of mankind they venerate
07:32the prophet ibraim and Allah is
07:35demonstrating when you give up something
07:37for my sake I will give you back more
07:39than what you gave up when you give up
07:41your people I will give you the world
07:44when you give up your tribe I will give
07:46you billions and billions of people our
07:49ibraim demonstrates what happens when
07:52you sacrifice for the sake of Allah
07:53subhah wa ta'ala when he goes into that
07:56land where another tyrannical King in
07:59that fonic king of Egypt there where
08:01once again he is threatened and his wife
08:04Sarah is taken away and once again he
08:06has no Army no Helper and so he falls
08:09down in SJ he prays theud in the privacy
08:12of his tent he has none other than Allah
08:14and he begs Allah to help his wife
08:17against the tyrannical King and that is
08:19exactly what happens and also the same
08:24phrase and he goes from there and he
08:26makes his way to the land of festine
08:29where Allah subhah wa ta'ala told him to
08:31settle and from there hajar gives birth
08:34to is to is and Allah says to them go
08:37down to mekah and build the first Masid
08:40that has ever been built for all of
08:46mankind at that time it was called so
08:48ibraim goes down and you all know the
08:50story ha and is are left over there he
08:54doesn't even know what to tell hajar how
08:56is he going to explain to hajar that
08:58Allah has told him to leave leave his uh
09:00his wife and his daughter his hajar and
09:02his and his son how is he going to
09:04explain to haar that Allah has told me
09:06to left to leave you he can't even say
09:09anything he simply walks away and hajar
09:11is confused where are you leaving me how
09:13am I going to be taken care of there's
09:15no food there's no water and she
09:17understands this is a higher order
09:20because she knows the gentleness of
09:21ibraim she knows he's a very very loving
09:24person and now he seems to be doing
09:27something that is atypical so she asked
09:31him did Allah command you and that's the
09:34only thing he can say yes Allah
09:36commanded me and haar who came into the
09:39household as a pagan she was not a
09:41Muslim when she entered the household
09:42but in that short time she has absorbed
09:45so much Iman that her sacrifice between
09:50Safa and marwa will become legislated
09:52for billions of people herul in Allah is
09:56now a role model the lady who submitted
09:59the mother who showed her love for her
10:02son and put her trust in Allah her acts
10:05of desperation Allah recorded for every
10:09every you will walk exactly on those
10:12footsteps and you will demonstrate just
10:14as ha knew Allah will take care of me
10:17she didn't know how she didn't know when
10:19she put in the effort and she went from
10:21one mountain to the other knowing that
10:23Allah would take care not knowing how
10:25and where and again this shows us the
10:27reality I have said this over and over
10:29again you put in the effort and you put
10:31your trust in Allah you do you you have
10:33a plan you have an agenda you have a
10:35goal and you put your trust in Allah ha
10:38was searching for water she's going here
10:40and there and she doesn't realize Allah
10:42has a plan but she has to show her side
10:46as well so she walks back and forth she
10:48runs exactly where we run and that Iman
10:50that she had is is is embodied in the
10:53ritual of saf and Mar the ritual of s
10:57that every single Pilgrim drug we are
11:00representing that same battle I don't
11:02know Allah's plan but I must put in my
11:05effort and Allah will take care of me
11:07and Allah will give me a way out from
11:09sources I never expected and lo and
11:11behold Allah subhah wa ta'ala blessed ha
11:15and is with water that is so blessed our
11:19Prophet sallallah alai wasam said it is
11:22the Most Blessed food and drink on Earth
11:24there is nothing more blessed than maam
11:27it is so blessed it was a gift not just
11:30to is it was a gift to all of the Arabs
11:34and all of the qur for 4,000 years and
11:37then it was a gift and it remains a gift
11:40for every single Muslim we are living
11:44testimony to the miracle of hajar and is
11:48in the middle of the desert how can all
11:50of this water come where does it come
11:52from where billions of people are
11:54drinking billions of people continue to
11:57drink and the water never runs out and
11:59the water is smack in the middle of the
12:01Desert from underneath the house of
12:03Allah subhah wa ta'ala if this is not
12:05yet another miracle of the Baraka that
12:07Allah gave to ibraim and to hajar and to
12:10is and so Allah subhah wa taala says
12:13ibraim passed all of these Commandments
12:15ibraim was told sacrifice your son and
12:18even that he took his son out and he
12:21said Allah has commanded me to sacrifice
12:24you what do you think I should do and
12:29yti the same Phrase yati That 70 years
12:33ago ibraim used with his own father now
12:35his son is using with him and we learn
12:37another lesson another lesson we learn
12:40parents listen to this children listen
12:42to this Allah is demonstrating when you
12:45show etiquette and manners to your
12:47elders when you become an elder Allah
12:50will bless you with youngsters who show
12:51you respect ibim showed respect to his
12:54father ibraim showed utmost love and
12:57submission to his father even even when
12:59his father said get out of here and his
13:01father said I'm going to kill you if you
13:03believe my God ibraim says I love you
13:06I'm going to make Dua for you ibraim
13:09never resorted to what his father
13:10resorted to he maintained the higher
13:13moral ground and therefore when Allah
13:15gave him children now he takes his son
13:18and says oh my son Allah told me to do
13:20something what does the son say whatever
13:23Allah says I'm going to do this this
13:25demonstrates you want your children to
13:27be righteous you begin with your and you
13:29begin with your own piety we also see in
13:33ibraim patience s in the face of
13:36adversity preaching Islam to all of
13:39mankind understanding that you might not
13:42see the fruits of what you want in this
13:44world but Allah will give you those
13:46fruits when Allah subhah wa ta'ala told
13:49him to sacrifice his son he only had one
13:51son is at that time when Allah told him
13:54to sacrifice his son he attempted to do
13:56so and Allah intervened and saved his
14:00son and not only did he save his son he
14:02blessed him with another son and from
14:04the two Allah gave magnificent
14:07civilizations two of the largest
14:09civilizations came from his two sons
14:11ibraim did not know this he thought
14:13that's the end of my progeny but he put
14:15his trust in Allah and what he when he
14:17put his trust in Allah Allah subhah wa
14:19ta'ala blessed him with that Legacy we
14:22also see over here when Allah says in
14:27that IIM would spend long hours in
14:30prayer in tahajud and Allah told our
14:33Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam that
14:35place he would pray you should pray on
14:37the exact same spot and this is what we
14:39call M ibim it is still standing to this
14:42day the same Rock the same rock that
14:46ibraim alisam stood on and worshiped the
14:49footprints of which are there ibraim
14:51alisam prayed there and he has gone but
14:54the legacy of his piety remains so much
14:57so we are told and all the when they go
15:01we pray two right behind the of ibim to
15:04maintain that Legacy you will go your
15:07good deeds will remain you're not going
15:09to be there but the good that you
15:11planted the rituals that you did the I
15:13that you did the worship of Allah that
15:15you did Allah will not cause it to go in
15:17vain Allah will never cause it to go in
15:20in loss and we also see over here the
15:22willingness to suffer and to sacrifice
15:25multiple times ibraim gives up for for
15:29the sake of Allah and Allah subhah wa
15:31ta'ala blesses him following the
15:33Commandments of Allah in spite of how
15:35difficult it is one of the most
15:37difficult realities when Allah commanded
15:39him to follow an entire Shar and a part
15:42of that Shar was the circumcision and
15:44ibraim was the only Muslim at that time
15:47and as the prophet s said he circumcised
15:50himself can you imagine somebody doing
15:52this and he did it himself on his own
15:55body why and how because this is what
15:57Iman does when Allah says you do you do
16:00and when you follow Allah subhah wa
16:02ta'ala blesses and that's why Allah says
16:05when he passed all of the
16:10tests I will make you a role model for
16:13all of mankind the main Legacy the main
16:17benefit from the story of
16:19ibraim when you turn to Allah Allah will
16:22give you much more than what you had to
16:24sacrifice when you show piety your
16:27legacy will live long long Beyond you
16:30when you stand up for Allah subhah wa
16:32ta'ala and you show servitude to Allah
16:35that and that worship will make you
16:38somebody who will become a role model
16:40for mankind and beloved to Allah and
16:42that's why the prophet ibraim Alam was
16:45the only one of two who was a of Allah
16:48Allah subhah wa taala said
16:52that Allah took ibim as a only two
16:55people have this status our Prophet
16:57sallallahu alai am and ibraim and means
17:02a close Confidant means the best friend
17:06we would say in a vernacular of course
17:08Allah does not have friends the way we
17:09do obviously but it is a terminology of
17:11Love of endearment two people have been
17:14given that high status ibraim Alam and
17:17our Prophet Muhammad sallallah alai
17:19wasam so dear Muslims as we enter these
17:23blessed 10 days as we enter the days of
17:26the days of some amongst us are going to
17:29perform the Haj those that are going
17:32remember all of the steps that ibraim
17:35and Haj and is did you will literally be
17:38walking on the exact locations they did
17:41recall their sacrifice recall their tul
17:44recall their and see how Allah blessed
17:47them you want to be blessed then do as
17:49they did those that are not going for
17:52the Hajj first and foremost if you
17:53haven't been I must remind myself on all
17:56of you do not delay oh Muslims do not
17:58delay Del the H if you can afford to do
18:00so go as fast as you can expedite this
18:03is an obligation that Allah has given
18:05upon all of you and we see the reality
18:08that the logistics and the costs are
18:11going higher and higher every single
18:13year so why are you delaying if Allah
18:15has blessed you with wealth do not delay
18:17go as soon as you can and if you do not
18:19have wealth you are absolutely forgiven
18:21and continue to accumulate and and and
18:23make sure you have a fund for Hajj just
18:25like you have a fund for your house and
18:27fund for your college education you
18:29should also have a small fun what is
18:30reasonable for you to do so that one day
18:32you're able to do the Hajj and those of
18:34you that are not going for Hajj know
18:37that those 10 days of regardless of
18:40whether you go or not are the Most
18:41Blessed 10 days of the year our Prophet
18:44sallallah alai wasam said there are no
18:4710 days there are no days of the year
18:50that are more blessed than the days of
18:53these first 10 days no good deed that
18:55you do outside of those 10 will equal
18:58those 10 unless you go as a complete
19:01mujah and you die a martyr that's the
19:03one deed you can do that is better than
19:05the Deeds of these 10 days if you're not
19:07doing that then your and your and your
19:12and your good deeds on these 10 days are
19:14better than anything else you can do so
19:17those that are not going for Hajj
19:19doesn't mean you're off the hook rather
19:21it means you have another set of rituals
19:23those that are going for they know their
19:24rituals they're going to be doing
19:29those that are not going for Haj well so
19:31many good deeds to do these are the days
19:34you fill them with with Quran you fill
19:39do you do good deeds with your family
19:42you you bring happiness to the lives of
19:44other Muslims and you fill these 10 days
19:46with the worship of Allah subhanahu wa
19:48taala and of course the day of the nth
19:52of the nth of oh Muslims if you are
19:55standing Ina on that day then
19:59welcome you and you are indeed blessed
20:01and chosen by Allah subhah wa taala
20:03there is no day of the year that is more
20:06blessed than the nth of no location that
20:09is more blessed than no Dua and no deed
20:12better than standing at on in begging
20:16Allah on that day and if you have not
20:18been oh Muslim then aspire to go and
20:20plan to go but even if you are not on
20:23the plains of it is authentically
20:27the in in kufa in other places they
20:30weren't doing Haj on the 9th they would
20:32come to the Masjid and they would spend
20:34the day in and the of Allah and they
20:37would make extra Dua because our Prophet
20:39sallallah alaihi wasallam said the best
20:41Dua is the Dua of now no doubt the
20:44Hadith primarily applies to being Ina no
20:47doubt about that but even if you're not
20:49Ina you shouldn't just sit home and
20:51watch TV it's still a blessed day it's
20:53still a day that the are gathered so
20:56even if you're not in ninth of you
20:59should be fasting over here and you
21:01should be doing extra and you should be
21:03doing and you should be doing your
21:06personal Dua as much as you can because
21:08it is a blessed day and it is a holy day
21:11these are the days of and even the days
21:14of Ramadan are not as blessed as the
21:17days of our Scholars say the last 10
21:19nights of Ramadan are more blessed than
21:21the nights of and the days of D are more
21:25blessed than the days of Ramadan each
21:26one is its own the last 10 nights of
21:28Ramadan and the first 10 days
21:32of nights of the Year andb Abbas said
21:36when Allah says in the
21:39Quran said is the 10 days of Allah's
21:43given on the 10 days of so oh Muslims
21:47take advantage of these days remember
21:49the legacy of ibraim and of ha is go
21:53through their footsteps if not
21:54physically at least mentally derive from
21:57their lives the concept of of of of of
22:01sacrifice of giving up for the sake of
22:04Allah so that you too can attain some of
22:07that little Baraka and the blessings
22:08that Allah has given to the righteous
22:10and Pious we ask Allah subhah wa ta'ala
22:12to make us of those who listen to the
22:14Quran and follow it to the best of our
22:15abilities may Allah subhana wa tala make
22:17us of those who are listening to the
22:19Quran and implementing in our daily
22:21lives may Allah bless me and you with
22:22and through the Quran and may he make us
22:24of those who its verses they understand
22:26and applies Halal andam throughout our
22:28lives span ask Allah's forgiveness you
22:30as well ask him he is the and
22:52ald oh Muslims we watch in sadness and
22:55in grief about what is happening over
22:58over and over again in the land of the
23:01Prophet ibraim Alam Allah subhah wa
23:03ta'ala chose that land for ibraim and
23:07for the righteous followers of his
23:09descendants after him and we firmly
23:11believe for a period of time those
23:13people were the descendants of ishak and
23:16Allah gave it to them for that period of
23:18time but we also believe when they
23:20rejected the legacy of ibraim when they
23:23turned away from the Commandments of
23:25irim Allah subhah wa ta'ala lifted that
23:27privilege from them and he gave it to
23:29the real followers and also the
23:32biological descendants of ibraim and
23:34that is the prophet Muhammad s alai and
23:37those who follow him we are the only
23:40real followers of the Prophet ibraim
23:43Alam we are the inheritors of his legacy
23:46and including in that is the promise of
23:49that land that land belongs to the
23:51righteous of those who follow ibraim
23:53al.is and that is us we are the rightful
23:56Heirs of that land and and it is truly
23:59distressing every few weeks these people
24:02even lower the bar and they show
24:04barbarity and inhumanity more so than we
24:07could have ever imagined just when we
24:09thought the situation was as bad as as
24:11it could have gotten these people the
24:13apartheid regime do even more barbaric
24:16and inhumane desecrations how can you
24:19bomb a refugee camp when you're the the
24:21ones who said to go and set up your
24:23tents over there how can you deprive
24:25Women and Children of food and water and
24:27the world watches and our own
24:29administration because even more callous
24:31and callous but we must remind ourselves
24:35oh Muslims we must remind ourselves to
24:38not lose hope wall I say to you the tide
24:41is changing the future is bright the
24:44depravity of this group The depravity of
24:47this regime and the cold
24:49hard-heartedness of our own
24:51Administration it is now being shown to
24:54the whole world and perhaps we hate
24:57something but Allah will Place good in
24:58it and perhaps those people whom Allah
25:00has chosen to be sh inshallah their
25:03blood is not lost oh Muslims wall their
25:06blood and their sacrifice it is changing
25:09the world Allah subhah wa ta'ala is
25:11using their courage and their sa and
25:14justification it's not a a justification
25:17but we have to console ourselves and we
25:20have to continue doing whatever little
25:22we can do we all feel impotent we all
25:25feel powerless that is true but still
25:28still we cannot lose hope and we must
25:31pers persist persevere and persist and
25:34we must push on and inshal we see one
25:38after the other the superpowers and
25:40countries are withdrawing their support
25:42one after the other until finally only
25:44one is going to be left and even this it
25:46is only a matter of time before the very
25:48people of this land see this reality and
25:51it is already happening the growing
25:53discontent the growing disconcertion the
25:55growing anger at what is happening Al
25:58alhamdulillah we thank Allah and so do
26:00not falter do not lose hope do not give
26:03up continue to persevere do whatever you
26:06can and I say this and I've said this N9
26:08months ago and I say it now maybe just
26:11maybe this group has won the battle but
26:13we have won the war without a doubt
26:16maybe this group has won this one battle
26:18if you just count the number of dead but
26:20the war the overall War without a doubt
26:22we have already won it the moral Victory
26:25we have already won it the depravity of
26:27these people has been demonstrated for
26:29all to see and so it's just a matter of
26:32time that's it put your trust in Allah
26:34and realize from the story of we learn
26:40that the final result will always be
26:42given to those who have tawa so raise
26:45the bar in your own life have tawa of
26:47Allah subhah wa taala put your trust in
26:49Allah and as we learned from the story
26:51ibraim The Legacy will always be for the
26:54righteous even if we don't live to see
26:56it ibraim Alam did not lived to see all
26:59of his grandchildren and
27:00great-grandchildren he had no idea of
27:02the respect and the fame he would be
27:04given he didn't see that but Allah still
27:06gave it to him and Allah subhah wa tala
27:09blessed him like he blessed no other
27:11Prophet all the prophets after ibraim
27:14were from his progeny not a single
27:16Prophet came except from his own
27:17children and for 100 years he didn't
27:19even know he would have children for 90
27:21years he didn't even know he would have
27:22children so put your trust in Allah
27:24persevere show patience show Iman show
27:27tul show sa sacrifice for the sake of
27:30Allah and the Legacy will be ours as it
27:33was to the prophet ibraim Alam Allah
