00:00hi everyone Aaron here for zotech and
00:02today Apple finally announced WWDC 2024
00:06or the worldwide developer conference
00:08they officially announced it on
00:09developer.apple.com and you can see it
00:12here so it says it's from June 10th to
00:14the 14th which I suspected it would be
00:17the first or second week of June so
00:19definitely the second week of June and
00:20if we go into this you'll see it says
00:22join us online for the biggest developer
00:25event of the Year be there for the
00:26unveiling of the latest Apple platforms
00:28Technologies and tools learn how to
00:30create and elevate your apps and games
00:32engage with apple designers and
00:34engineers and connect with the worldwide
00:36developer Community all online and at no
00:38cost if we scroll down of course we can
00:41add it to our calendar and then it says
00:43special event at Apple Park now if
00:45you're a developer you can request to
00:46attend if I do get a press invite I will
00:49attend however I'm not going to request
00:51to attend as while I do have a developer
00:54account I'm not developing any apps at
00:56this time and I don't think it would be
00:57fair to limit those developers that need
01:00also it says WWDC 24 online as well as
01:03the Swift student Challenge and they
01:05have this every year where it says the
01:07Swift student challenge supports and
01:09uplifts the next generation of
01:10developers creators and entrepreneurs on
01:13March 28th we'll announce this year's
01:14winners who will be able to attend the
01:17special event at Apple Park we'll also
01:19recognize 50 distinguished winners who
01:21will be invited to copertino for an
01:23extraordinary 3-day experience that
01:25includes the special event at Apple Park
01:27so again this is going to be an in
01:29person event probably where they watch
01:31it on a screen together in the Steve
01:33Jobs theater or maybe outside it depends
01:36on what they decide to do but last year
01:39everyone was outside and they've been
01:40doing that for a while also if we go
01:43back to Twitter or X Greg jazak says
01:47this is going to be absolutely
01:49incredible so we're expecting a lot of
01:51things this time around and the first
01:53thing is of course iOS 18 now iOS 18
01:57supported devices so far we're hearing
01:59that they're going to support the exact
02:01same devices that means the current
02:03devices we have all the way up to the
02:04latest 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max the iPhone
02:0816 Pro and 16 Pro Max when those come
02:10out later on all the way back to what we
02:13have now with the 10s and 10s Max so
02:15whether you have an iPhone 11 11 Pro Max
02:17or something else you'll be able to use
02:20that hopefully now that could change by
02:22the time this releases we won't know
02:24100% until iOS 18 beta 1 is released as
02:27far as when iOS 18 beta 1 should be
02:29expected to be released typically it's
02:31right after the event if we go to the
02:33Apple developer app of course it's June
02:3510th and based on that usually we have a
02:38keynote event where they show off the
02:39latest version of iOS iPad OS and others
02:42and then right after that usually around
02:443 or 400 p.m. eastern time we'll have
02:47the release of the first betas so that's
02:49what we can expect if Apple continues to
02:51do it the same way they have every year
02:53and if we go in here to learn more again
02:55you can see basically the same thing in
02:57the developer app you can go back and
02:59forth if you want to do that it's not
03:00really working right now but if we go
03:02developer app we're already in it it
03:04brings you to the website and it sort of
03:06goes back and forth but either way it's
03:08in here and as far as iOS 18 it's
03:10expected to be the biggest update ever
03:13the first or latest rumors that we've
03:15been hearing is that Apple will actually
03:17allow us to change where the icons are
03:19on the home screen this is something
03:20Apple users have wanted for many years
03:22where we can maybe leave spaces or just
03:25have rows depending on where we want to
03:27place them not top to bottom left to
03:30so that's something that leaves odd
03:32spaces like this and we would love to
03:33see this where we could just place it
03:35wherever we want I just hope it's not
03:37sort of difficult to move things around
03:39like it is with the lock screen where
03:41you have all of these different options
03:42hopefully it will be very simple and
03:44easy to use the other thing we're
03:46expected to see is updates to the free
03:48form app where it's going to help you
03:50better navigate the free form app so
03:52that's something we expect them to
03:53update as well as additional features
03:56with maybe hearing aid mode according to
03:58Mark German for access ility so if you
04:00have airpods Pro 2 or maybe future
04:03airpods updates we could have some sort
04:05of mode with that where we could use
04:07them as hearing aids also we're expected
04:09to have other accessibility features and
04:12AI apple is working and buying a lot of
04:14AI companies they've worked with Gemini
04:16with Google they've worked with Buu and
04:18even open AI as well maybe to use some
04:20of their models patents or something
04:22else we already know for sure that
04:24Apple's going to be bringing RCS
04:26messaging we know that for sure they've
04:28already told us that and one thing I
04:30think many people have been asking for
04:32is split view now I talked about this
04:34last year we thought iOS 17 would have
04:36it Apple has it on iPad OS but we don't
04:39have it on iOS just yet so maybe we'll
04:41see split view in the future maybe we
04:42won't also they Continue to update the
04:45battery setting screen and hopefully
04:46they update it again where they give us
04:48better information here and maybe time
04:51with screen on time since last charged
04:54not in a 24-hour period I would love to
04:56see that with updates to battery health
04:58optimization and much much more also of
05:01course one of the main things many of us
05:03want is stability so this is expected to
05:06be a huge update hopefully it's some
05:08sort of rewrite to add that stability
05:10make things more consistent and
05:12hopefully have some sort of redesign in
05:14general now also we're expecting other
05:16updates iPad OS 18 should have similar
05:19updates and watch OS 11 is expected to
05:22actually be a pretty small update so if
05:23you're using an Apple watch watch OS 11
05:26is expected to be minor they sort of
05:28redesigned it quite a bit last year with
05:30watch OS 10 of course TV and homepod Os
05:3318 are expected and vision OS 2 is also
05:36expected for Apple Vision Pro with a
05:38code name of constellation according to
05:40Mark German so we're waiting for that we
05:42don't know what that will entail just
05:44yet so far though there's nothing about
05:46the Mac we have no idea what the Mac is
05:48going to have and we don't know if
05:51they're redesigning it doing something
05:52dramatic we just don't know at this
05:54point there's been no leaks or rumors at
05:56all about it as far as Hardware
05:58available at w WDC we could see some
06:01updates to things such as airpods we
06:03don't know that for sure Mark ger has
06:05said to expect them later in the year
06:06but airpods 2 and three are expected to
06:08be replaced with airpods Pro 3 coming
06:11later next year also we could see
06:13updates to Mac Mini and Mac Studio to
06:16bring them up to the M3 chipset and
06:18maybe something completely unexpected
06:21sometimes we see Hardware such as the
06:22Apple Vision Pro last year sometimes we
06:25see nothing so we'll have to wait and
06:26see what Apple does but I'm looking
06:28forward to see be hopefully a surprise
06:30we haven't heard about yet as far as the
06:32iOS 18 public release typically we have
06:35that release sometime in September that
06:37coincides with what we have with the
06:38iPhone so iPhone 16 iPhone 16 plus
06:42iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
06:45typically they'll launch the iOS 18
06:47update about a week or so before that
06:49releases to the public and the phone
06:51launches that's usually what we can
06:52expect so we'll have a bunch of betas
06:54from WWDC all the way up until September
06:57and then we'll get the final release
06:59then that's usually what Apple does also
07:02we're still waiting for iOS 17.5 beta 1
07:05and I would expect that as soon as
07:07tomorrow last year Apple announced iOS
07:0916.5 beta 1 and then the day after they
07:13announced WWDC so this time they just
07:15might flip that around but it seems like
07:18they could announce that or release that
07:20anytime this week I would expect that
07:22now that we have ww DC's announcement of
07:25course the WWDC invites will go out a
07:27little bit later usually in April or a
07:29little bit after that and we'll know if
07:32Apple's inviting me and others as well
07:34but either way that's what we can expect
07:37WWDC the new logo here that we have and
07:40hopefully we get some surprises we
07:41weren't expecting let me know what you
07:43want most from IOS 18 what you expect
07:45from WWDC and of course I'll link this
07:48wallpaper in the description like I
07:49normally do if you haven't subscribed
07:51already though please subscribe and if
07:53you enjoyed the video please give it a
07:54like as always thanks for watching this
07:57is Aaron I'll see you next time
