00:03 The Walking Dead's outbreak that
00:05 Humanity would not be entirely crippled
00:07 by the Advent of the undead it's not
00:09 often that we get a story that depicts
00:11 life daring and more importantly after a
00:14 zombie apocalypse where Society at large
00:16 mostly managed to persevere albeit with
00:19 some large disquality of life
00:21 deteriorations it wouldn't be this
00:23 quirky let's go out and Hunt some
00:25 zombies with no repercussions goof trip
00:27 every day like Zombieland nor would
00:29 things be so simple that things would
00:31 just be outright over for Humanity like
00:33 Romero's films the only things that come
00:35 to mind along the lines of a true
00:37 aftermath is the ending of shot of the
00:39 dead or the world coming to terms with
00:40 everything in Warm Bodies but both of
00:43 those are done in a very satirical and
00:46 comedical sense zombies as they are in
00:49 most cases are not a permanent world
00:51 ending threat they would just become a
00:54 way of life changing the norm of how
00:56 Society functions and how each person
00:58 lives and dies one exemplary example of
01:02 this is the 2015 film Maggie starring
01:05 Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail
01:08 Breslin directed by Henry Hopson creator
01:10 of shorts involving Halo and XCOM as
01:13 well as designing title cards for 2009
01:15 Sherlock Holmes and 2013's The Last of
01:18 Us the latter of his previous work can
01:21 definitely be felt for Inspirations for
01:24 the two characters of Wade and Maggie as
01:27 the story centers around a father doing
01:29 the best of what he can in a world that
01:32 has bitterly accepted the terms of what
01:34 the zombie outbreak has brought upon the

02:22 run away to a nearby Town under strict
02:25 curfew while advising her father Wade
02:27 not to come for her as Wade makes his
02:29 way downtown driving semi-fast his radio
02:31 broadcast details of the outbreak of the
02:33 necro ambulus virus that has ravaged the
02:36 world through crop infection details
02:39 fully explained that even though
02:40 Metropolitan and inner city areas were
02:43 the worst hit by the virus Swift
02:45 response by armed and emergency units
02:47 quelled the outbreak with new infection
02:49 rates decreasing by 30 percent in just a
02:51 week's time martial law and cleanup
02:53 efforts are still well underway by the
02:56 events of the film within only a few
02:58 months the pandemic has been for the
02:59 most part suppressed but that doesn't
03:02 mean its threat isn't ever pervasive
03:04 Humanity has persevered but it's still
03:07 struggling heavily in the remains
03:10 especially in its uncertain future and
03:12 how to tackle it in the virus that still
03:15 lingers out there zombies can still roam
03:17 dark corridors crops can still Harbor
03:20 the infection it is still possible that
03:23 at any moment you could be bitten or
03:25 have the necro ambulus virus transmitted
03:27 to you in the span of a few weeks a
03:30 Litany of changes will occur throughout
03:31 the body from darkened veins whitened
03:33 and then blackened eyes no sense of pain
03:35 blackened ooze taking the place of the
03:38 very blood flowing through you and The
03:41 Telltale sign of the beginning of the
03:44 turn is an elevated sense of smell all
03:47 this will happen to the infected and
03:49 eventually culminate into turning a
03:52 person into a cannibalistic feral
03:54 monster wanting nothing more than to
03:57 consume the Flesh of any living thing
03:59 while losing all semblance of self
04:02 Maggie panicking not knowing what to do
04:05 after being bitten attempts to stay away
04:06 from her family with her ill-gotten
04:08 Affliction until her father finds her in
04:11 a hospital being detained in isolation
04:13 because avoid's relationship with the
04:15 town doctor and local police department
04:17 he is allowed to take her home so she
04:19 can spend her last few weeks with her
04:21 family considering she was missing for
04:23 her first two weeks she now only has
04:26 about four to six weeks left to live on
04:29 their way back home Wade's tops for
04:31 guests to find the station owner has
04:32 fully turned in private forcing him to
04:35 kill the Mindless infected and giving
04:37 him a glimpse of what's to come for his
04:40 daughter this instance will be only one
04:42 of a few moments where actual zombies
04:44 appear on screen fighting the living
04:47 this is unlike most zombie media as the
04:50 focus of this film is centered around a
04:52 few important elements that are more
04:55 about the ramifications of what zombies
04:57 and the idea of becoming one and them
04:59 spreading will do to people first Wade
05:02 caring for his dying Offspring and
05:04 knowing most of what he does is in vain
05:06 and what he has to do in the future
05:09 second Maggie coming to terms with her
05:11 mortality at such a young age and
05:14 turning the coming of a age story into a
05:17 coming of death one third how the world
05:20 will Now function with those that become
05:22 infected and how they will be treated or
05:25 taken care of and lastly no one really
05:28 knows how to handle this state of
05:30 affairs from the perspective of
05:31 authority friends family and even
05:34 parents this is all exemplified in the
05:37 microcosm of their old family ranch
05:39 where a majority of their film takes
05:41 place in the few locations nearby that
05:43 made up their memories upon arrival we
05:45 see her stepmother packing her
05:47 children's bags as they are about to be
05:49 sent away not wanting to risk her own
05:52 children as Maggie lives out the
05:54 remainder of her days at the family
05:56 Homestead Maggie's half-sister just
05:58 thinks she is sick pointing to her bite
06:00 wound comparing it to her own scratch
06:02 the idea of a terminal illness making
06:05 her sister into a zombie doesn't quite
06:07 connect as she goes on about her day
06:09 awaiting the trip to stay with her aunt
06:12 her half-brother a bit older and wiser
06:14 than his sister no shows the reality of
06:17 what is ailing Maggie mentioning a
06:19 schoolmate of his he didn't like that
06:21 fully turned and became a zombie only to
06:24 die with solace in his face he asks if
06:27 the infection causes any pain and
06:29 questions why they too can't stay with
06:31 Maggie in her final days Maggie knows
06:34 it's too risky for them to stay and more
06:37 so than that though is the fact that his
06:39 mother her stepmother is too afraid they
06:43 will get it as well her final words to
06:45 him being I missed you kiddo missed you
06:49 too they both smile and acknowledge
06:51 their love for each other and a feign
06:53 moment of normality attempts to set in
06:55 it's then that a distant boom of Thunder
06:58 is heard in the distance as she is
07:00 reminded that she won't ever see him
07:03 again this Foley of Thunder remains a
07:06 constant sound throughout the film there
07:09 is never actually a storm just a looming
07:12 storm that never actually comes but it
07:15 always sits in the distance as a warning
07:18 of the storm that is looming forth
07:21 Maggie does what she can to cover up the
07:23 necro ambulist's effect on her body
07:25 looking for Shades to cover up how her
07:28 eyes will go from reddened and widened
07:30 out and finally blackened she doesn't
07:32 want to be viewed as a biohazard a
07:35 danger a pariah a monster even though
07:39 that's basically how she has begun to
07:41 view herself she tears up pamphlets
07:44 describing the necrabulous virus and
07:46 what has to be done once symptoms have
07:48 begun to set in she attempts to call a
07:50 friend and when it goes to voicemail
07:52 cannot muster any words to say to them
07:54 she is seen picking at her bite wound as
07:57 if it were just a simple scab like any
07:59 young or even old person would do with
08:01 the wound they wouldn't pay much mine to
08:03 going out to the backyard she swings in
08:05 her childhood swing set to reminisce and
08:07 distract herself while the family makes
08:09 food and chops wood the weight of
08:12 reality the memories of her attack cause
08:14 her to fall to the Earth and break her
08:17 finger in the process in a very morbid
08:20 way Maggie feels no pain from it but the
08:22 sight of the blackened oohs permeating
08:25 from her wound causes her to panic
08:27 unable to face what is going on inside
08:30 her own body while her stepmother calls
08:33 for a doctor Maggie in an erratic state
08:36 to eliminate her Grim reminder of what's
08:38 to come cuts off the finger and throws
08:42 it in the garbage disposal running away
08:44 from their home again she can only cry
08:46 as she glares at the nub she has just
08:49 created it's then that the nearby groans
08:52 of two zombies cause her to stare at her
08:55 own fate a man named Nathan and his
08:58 daughter Julia have fully turned and
09:01 slowly shambled towards her Wade appears
09:04 behind her and tells her to run home so
09:06 she doesn't have to witness what happens
09:08 next Wade wants to do what had to be
09:11 done alone attempting to talk to Nathan
09:13 to get some kind of human-like response
09:16 knowing it would be fruitless he didn't
09:18 want to do what he had to do cutting the
09:21 man down he simply just stares at the
09:24 little girl mummified in appearance
09:26 charred and flesh dead by all accounts
09:30 looking into what his daughter will be
09:32 soon enough Wade's Journey as a father
09:34 through this Grim time being full of
09:37 uncertainty of what to do all except for
09:40 one thing to do what he promised to his
09:43 wife before she had passed away to
09:46 always protect and look after Maggie no
09:49 matter what the life he built with his
09:51 original family is crumbling the
09:54 pandemic forcing Farmers to burn their
09:56 crops symbolizes this as he goes out at
09:59 night and can only bear witness to the
10:02 Roaring Flames that destroy his life's
10:05 work and ambition and with time ticking
10:08 his options becoming fewer and fewer for
10:11 his original family later that night a
10:14 call to the local police is made to look
10:16 into the two dead and zombified people
10:18 in order to dispose of their bodies not
10:21 only that but to come to the conclusion
10:23 that the mother of the family Bonnie
10:25 kept them in confinement in their own
10:28 home without notifying anyone trying to
10:31 avoid them being sent to quarantine in
10:34 their final days giving her family a
10:36 sense of home in peace before they fully
10:38 turned an unquestionable act for a
10:41 desperate parent but from an outsider's
10:43 perspective is the wrong course of
10:46 action for the greater good Wade speaks
10:49 with both officers stating if they come
10:52 from Maggie in any way he will fight
10:55 back and they will understand why the
10:59 dichotomy of both officers mentality
11:01 about Maggie's State of Affairs I will
11:04 speak on later but what stands out from
11:06 their conversation is Sheriff Pierce
11:08 telling Wade this think about what you
11:12 what you might have to do in the future
11:14 something weighed wholeheartedly already
11:17 knew but is now facing head on more and
11:20 more the mirroring of Wade having to
11:22 kill these two zombies all while his
11:25 wife was stating that Bonnie should have
11:30 but both options killing the zombified
11:34 family member or sending them off to
11:36 quarantine is out of the question for
11:39 him not wanting to lose his little girl
11:42 but his wife the non-biological step
11:45 parent of his child wanting to settle it
11:48 as soon as possible by hinting at what
11:51 needed to be done her stepmother
11:53 Caroline can barely look her in the face
11:56 or in her general direction when she
11:58 first arrives both unable to think of
12:01 what to say to each other in Caroline
12:03 fearing that she may turn at any moment
12:06 the sheer idea of someone near her
12:08 becoming a zombie has her recoil and go
12:11 blank at every chance Maggie's bite
12:14 wound reveals itself at dinner causing
12:17 Caroline to bluntly say can you cover
12:19 that up why are you not wearing bandages
12:21 a very touchy subject that causes Maggie
12:24 to run upstairs ashamed of herself and
12:27 ashamed of who she is becoming her
12:30 stepmom's says she can't bear to look at
12:32 it in any degree despite how it will
12:35 make Maggie feel since she is the one
12:38 who is dying but in the case of her
12:41 becoming a zombie many can't blame her
12:43 for these actions a small but important
12:46 blink and you'll miss it moment in the
12:48 movie is during their first conversation
12:51 where they don't even look at each other
12:53 pretending to act normal as they get
12:55 ready for dinner while Caroline is doing
12:57 the dishes she is desperately brushing
13:00 the blackened Gunk from her dishware but
13:03 is not able to scrape it off as she is
13:06 barely able to hold it together
13:08 symbolizing no matter how much she tries
13:12 to erase the sight this Grim black ooze
13:16 will be something she sees more of as
13:19 the virus turns her stepdaughter's own
13:21 blood into a blackened Abyss after Wade
13:25 puts down the two zombies she even says
13:28 that Bonnie should have taken them into
13:30 quarantine instead of keeping them alive
13:32 at home that is just the more sensible
13:34 thing instead of relying on emotions
13:37 taking control of your actions
13:40 Mani the mother of the family of the two
13:42 zombies eventually shows up at Wade's
13:45 front porch brandishing a gun in a quiet
13:47 hysterical State asking Wade how
13:50 Maggie's condition is before recounting
13:52 how inhumane and sterile doctors had
13:55 been about how she should act with her
13:58 infected child Julia scared of how
14:00 officials say that a physical touch was
14:02 against the rules to lock the infected
14:04 in a room by themselves each and every
14:06 night the idea of leaving a
14:09 four-year-old to themselves every single
14:11 night to face their own mortality Bonnie
14:14 spoke of how her and her husband Nathan
14:17 would take turns each night sleeping in
14:19 bed with their child to comfort her but
14:21 one night Nathan had not come out from
14:24 the room he had locked the door because
14:26 he himself had been bitten and infected
14:29 by their own daughter locking himself in
14:31 with her to prevent Bonnie from becoming
14:33 another victim Wade walks her into their
14:36 dead bodies as she Mourns over their
14:38 corpses a fate that could have been
14:40 avoided for Nathan if he had just
14:43 followed the guidelines set by the
14:45 quarantine efforts money is later
14:48 carried away in police custody for
14:50 harboring infected not only that but she
14:53 must now face a world without her
14:55 daughter but also her husband and
14:58 possibly being stuck in imprisonment as
15:01 cold and harsh as the rules are now
15:04 there is a reason for them being in
15:07 place even for a parent losing their
15:10 child could you say any differently if
15:12 it was for the greater good the world
15:14 outside of the family's experiences
15:16 struggles to figure out how to return to
15:19 normalcy as we get hints of it scattered
15:21 in the background noise and chatter of
15:23 radios and other people what do you
15:26 think about the schools
15:30 thing one being a man rushing things to
15:33 be done with the epidemic and making it
15:35 a distant memory that's all he wants to
15:37 do saying simply that you know what bad
15:40 things happen every day that's just
15:42 something we have to deal with while his
15:44 female co-host is baffled at making such
15:47 light of a gigantic tragedy that fell
15:50 upon the World At Large they also
15:52 continued to argue if the concrete fact
15:54 of six to eight weeks to turn is
15:57 legitimate or not as some people can
15:59 turn even sooner depending on their
16:01 Anatomy DNA immune system and area of
16:04 bite wound some argue that there
16:07 shouldn't be any Dilly dallying in
16:09 taking the infected into quarantine and
16:11 that they should basically nip the necro
16:13 ambulist virus in the bud whenever it
16:16 crops up no matter how immoral it may be
16:19 the second you're infected you should
16:21 already be shipped off to prevent any
16:24 more infections this is also perfectly
16:26 personified in the two cops that show up
16:29 numerous times at Wade's home Sheriff
16:32 Pierce and Deputy hole represent how the
16:35 population will react in these given
16:37 cases Sheriff Pierce understands the
16:40 extreme difficulty of giving up not only
16:43 a family member but a child in what
16:46 seems like a callous and emotionless
16:48 manner but saying that when the time
16:50 comes a choice has to be made there is
16:54 no turning back while Deputy Holt is the
16:57 embodiment of fear and wanting to
17:00 eradicate anything that can cause any
17:02 harm or danger as he bluntly states that
17:05 no one is immune to the law and of how
17:08 things must go down quarantine rules
17:11 must apply to everyone or else more harm
17:14 can be done the fact that Wade was there
17:17 to kill two stray infected means that
17:19 they could have easily infected more
17:22 people if he had not been there it's a
17:25 simple fact of life now if you allow an
17:28 infected person to fully turn things can
17:30 get it much worse when Maggie is taken
17:33 to the hospital for a follow-up on her
17:35 condition especially since she chopped
17:37 off a finger she is seen smiling and
17:40 interacting with two children this is
17:43 the most normal she's felt in a while
17:45 after taking off her glasses that masked
17:47 who she was becoming does the nearby
17:50 mother see the state she is in and
17:52 quietly urges her children to get away
17:55 from her she quickly re-adorns her
17:58 glasses again feeling like a leper
18:00 amongst normal people the doctor notes
18:04 her blackened veins abnormally strong
18:05 heartbeat and asking why she would cut
18:08 off her own finger Maggie joke and lean
18:11 like what a teenager would say about
18:13 being self-deprecating says what Good's
18:15 a finger if her whole arm is falling off
18:18 showing us how much it doesn't matter
18:20 what happens to her because in her own
18:23 mind she is already dead not only to
18:27 herself but those around her when the
18:30 doctor leaves she breaks down in tears
18:33 as Wade can only silently console her
18:35 Wade is told by the doctor that the
18:37 virus in her is actually progressing
18:39 faster than any other person and that
18:42 the time is coming where she won't want
18:44 normal food but the flesh of the living
18:47 and that she will begin to smell others
18:49 like they are meat in a humane way he
18:52 states he will report her infection is
18:54 progressing at a normal pace so that
18:56 wage can be bought time to figure out
18:58 what he can do so she is not sent away
19:01 to quarantine to die alone he gives Wade
19:04 three options with the first one being
19:07 out of the question being quarantine
19:08 itself the second a medical concoction
19:11 that is used at these quarantine sites
19:13 that would allow her to die at home in
19:16 an extremely painful manner or the final
19:19 option a quick and painless way of a
19:22 gunshot to the Head Wade's choices are
19:25 to come as distant Thunder looms louder
19:28 what's option three make it quick
19:34 the next few days are of peaceful
19:35 normalcy as they laugh at dinner
19:37 together reminisce about her deceased
19:39 mother talking about how much her mother
19:41 loved books in daisies and why her
19:44 nickname was Daisy in the first place
19:46 and why Wade continuously fixed up a
19:50 busted old truck that truck being a form
19:53 of his old life he desperately Works to
19:56 hold on to no matter how rickety and
19:59 shambled it might be they cherish these
20:02 moments and smile the best that they can
20:05 one night Maggie is shaken awake by
20:08 Nightmares of the zombie attack as she
20:10 wikens up opens her eyes and peers at
20:13 her bite wound as maggots are already
20:16 attempting to dig into her decaying
20:19 flesh no matter how many good memories
20:22 they create together in these final
20:24 weeks the reality of her dying state
20:26 will become louder and louder and more
20:33 the next day as she tries to normally
20:35 paint her fingernails the distant
20:37 Thunder booms ahead of her the distant
20:40 thunderbombs even louder as her
20:42 childhood friend Ally comes to pick her
20:44 up for a bonfire with a bunch of her
20:47 high school friends Ali states that
20:49 school is going to be starting soon and
20:51 it's such a bummer as Ali attempts to
20:54 just be her friend and take her out for
20:56 a night of fun to just distract herself
20:58 from what's to come attending the
21:00 bonfire this will be the most normal
21:01 Maggie's felt since running away for a
21:04 teenager being around people of the same
21:06 age and just laughing and goofing off
21:08 and gossiping is part of The Human
21:10 Experience Coming of Age however the
21:13 indiscernible banter and shattered that
21:15 is heard is abruptly halted by a boy
21:17 asking why schools are even opening up
21:20 so soon saying nothing is normal because
21:23 of all the infected people out there
21:25 shaking not only Maggie to her core but
21:28 Maggie's ex-boyfriend Trent who was also
21:31 in the late stages of the infection the
21:34 boy brings back how reality should
21:36 supersede emotion and saying Bonnie
21:39 screwed up not telling authorities of
21:41 her infected family and that quarantine
21:44 should be the only answer for those that
21:46 are infected Trent is reasonably
21:49 offended and states that he has heard
21:51 stories of how the infected are treated
21:54 in that very quarantine the public image
21:57 of quarantine is vastly different to
21:59 what actually happens within people are
22:01 not taken care of they are taken care of
22:05 and they tell people everything's nice
22:07 and they'll hold your hand until the end
22:09 but they don't that they're in a big
22:11 room with everyone else everyone's all
22:13 bunched up together people eating people
22:16 and they don't care
22:18 in an efficient but inhumane way Trent
22:22 then goes on to say that he would rather
22:24 kill himself than face an end so Grim
22:27 but in private with Maggie he knows that
22:30 his friend was just afraid and didn't
22:32 know what to say or do about the
22:34 pandemic Trent tells Maggie how he had
22:37 been bitten Trent saw an infected Woman
22:39 by herself as if she was in pain and his
22:42 natural response was to try and help her
22:45 and in that Split Second he drew too
22:48 close to her that's all it took for the
22:50 zombie to bite him him just wanting to
22:53 help someone that couldn't be helped
22:55 marked his fate of death Maggie is
22:59 dropped off by her best friend Ali who
23:00 both act as if they will just hang out
23:02 again soon but both knowing this would
23:04 be their last encounter and saying they
23:07 love each other because this part of her
23:10 life was now coming to a close
23:16 going inside Caroline looks her over and
23:18 peers into her whitened eyes when Maggie
23:20 starts breathing in stating she smells
23:23 something good downstairs thinking Wade
23:25 was cooking something that smelled
23:27 delicious despite no food being prepared
23:30 nor Wade even being within the house
23:33 Caroline after being so hesitant for so
23:36 long finally became comfortable with
23:38 Maggie and her condition but then she
23:41 realized that a heightened sense of
23:43 smell means things are worse and she
23:47 silently grabs a nearby pair of scissors
23:50 fearing the worst Caroline tried but
23:53 still fears what Maggie will become at
23:56 any moment that is just the survival
23:58 Instinct of any man woman or child this
24:01 one-sided interaction is interrupted
24:03 when her ex Trent calls her on the phone
24:05 she goes over to his house to find
24:07 Trent's father pointing a shotgun at his
24:10 bedroom door in a panicked State the
24:13 time has come from the only love she
24:16 Trent's own father not even consoling
24:19 him in his last moments in his own home
24:21 all he was doing was preparing to kill
24:24 him fearing for his own life over his
24:28 own Sons Trent says he can smell his own
24:31 father like he is meat his eyes now
24:34 completely swallowed in darkness thus
24:36 prompting his father to call quarantine
24:38 efforts to take him away Maggie tries to
24:41 console him as police raid the home to
24:44 take him away Sheriff Pierce stands
24:46 behind her wanting her not to see what
24:48 happens next not only because of the ill
24:50 fate that Trent said befalls anyone that
24:53 is forced into quarantine but also to
24:55 avoid seeing what's a possible
24:57 inevitable outcome for her in the near
25:01 future Trent is dragged Away by
25:03 authorities as he desperately calls for
25:05 his dad to help him but with no answer
25:08 there the destiny he feared for himself
25:11 from the rumors that he had heard was
25:15 now his only way out of this world Trent
25:19 was on the brink of full infection and
25:22 so too was Maggie as she goes out by
25:25 herself no one around her she arms
25:28 herself with her father's gun and then
25:30 here's the Yelps and then smells the
25:32 scent of a nearby trapped Fox acting not
25:36 like a person but a wheezing zombie
25:38 acting on pure Instinct she shoots and
25:41 eats parts of the fox while it was still
25:43 alive before realizing what she was
25:46 doing she runs home blood soaking her
25:48 face in clothes this sight and the
25:51 reaction of her father and stepmother
25:53 deafens the world around her the only
25:55 words reaching her in this state are the
25:59 ones she now feared the most
26:02 we have to take her in
26:06 the world deafened even more before the
26:09 coming words of her father snapped her
26:11 back to reality the BTSD of what she
26:14 just did having her mentally pulled in
26:17 all directions Wade attempts to hold her
26:19 prompting her to speak in a monstrous
26:22 the final stages of the infection are
26:25 definitively settling in biologically
26:28 for her and mentally for everyone there
26:31 Caroline has had enough and leaves the
26:34 house for the final time but not before
26:37 saying that it is too late for Maggie
26:40 that Wade has to send her to quarantine
26:43 Wade responding to her as if she were
26:46 just a heartless witch asks if this
26:49 would be the same case if her own
26:51 children had become infected and if they
26:53 would have received the same treatment
26:55 Caroline states she viewed Maggie as her
26:58 own daughter but reiterates she is not
27:01 the same little girl anymore Caroline
27:04 tried for the time she was there but the
27:06 fear of being bitten of losing her life
27:09 leaving behind her own children without
27:11 a mother and facing the zombified husk
27:14 of her stepdaughter prompts her to leave
27:16 now it wasn't that she wasn't strong
27:19 enough many people I could see being mad
27:21 at her but this is just a fact of how
27:24 some people would go about the
27:26 zombification of a loved one not being
27:28 mentally able to handle seeing and being
27:31 a part of a loved one becoming a

27:49 distant booms of Thunder with no storm
27:51 in sight Echo louder as Maggie looms
27:54 over her slumbering father with a Blank
27:56 deadened Stare he awakens to the site
27:59 causing her to run away in fear her
28:01 silent contemplation was broken in the
28:04 day as he tends to his Farm Wade is
28:06 confronted by Sheriff Pierce and Deputy
28:08 hole who now know how severe her
28:10 infection has progressed Holt holds no
28:13 bars saying she is a threat to the town
28:16 and that it's well beyond her time to go
28:18 into quarantine or die halt harnessing
28:22 the fear of all non-infected people in
28:24 the town hell in the whole population
28:26 that want to nip this Maggie problem in
28:29 the bud and begins to storm to Wade's
28:32 home trying to brush him off like her
28:34 father is being irrational in the face
28:36 of the public good he doesn't care if
28:39 it's his daughter all it takes is one
28:41 slip up and it will cause more harm more
28:43 infections and more sorrow Wade commands
28:46 that they are not taking her away as
28:48 they fight each other in Pierce readies
28:51 his shotgun to take out Wade before the
28:53 trigger can be pulled Maggie comes out
28:56 of nowhere completely inhuman like an
28:58 appearance darkened flesh her eyes are
29:01 completely whitened she yells for them
29:03 to all stop Maggie saving her father's
29:07 life as Pierce gives Wade one more day
29:10 with her to decide how things will play
29:12 out the town the authorities everyone
29:15 except the father and daughter are ready
29:17 to end this affair all while the Thunder
29:20 booming far away now sounds like it's
29:23 right above them it is looming above
29:26 them the storm is nearly there and
29:28 waiting for the downpour the police
29:31 leave peace is momentary Wade decides to
29:35 show her one last scene of Beauty in
29:37 this world that had darkened around her
29:40 in the time that Maggie was missing Wade
29:43 would return home each day just to plant
29:46 daisies in a patch their home daisies
29:50 the favorite flower of Maggie's deceased
29:53 mother and his wife and the nickname she
29:55 had given Maggie when she was young
29:58 among the dying fields of trees and
30:00 crops that swallowed the area that were
30:02 burned down or just dead around their
30:04 home was this bright white Beacon of
30:08 love and hope a memoriam for both of the
30:11 women of Wade's original life and
30:14 something to find compassion in amongst
30:16 a world that abandoned Maggie and
30:19 treated her like a leper the sight
30:21 bringing tears to her clouded eyes
30:23 Maggie asks her father to be the one to
30:27 end her life knowing what would happen
30:29 to her if she was taken away what
30:31 happened to Trent and how his last
30:33 moments in this world were probably of
30:36 misery she wanted to enter time in the
30:39 place she grew up and with the man that
30:42 raised her an insurmountably tall order
30:45 for a father to hear from his little
30:47 girl he accepts her request one last
30:51 time as Wade Ponders on how she will
30:53 depart this world the doctor arrives at
30:56 his home with the concoction news for
30:58 quarantine infected so that they may die
31:00 but in a painful manner only showing up
31:03 to display how two out of three of these
31:05 options would mean a horrible end for
31:08 her last moments but to say that a gun
31:11 would be again a quick and painless way
31:16 bringing the vial despite actually
31:19 having the chemical was an empty gesture
31:22 as he just wanted to accentuate what was
31:27 Maggie calls her step-siblings to say
31:29 her goodbyes when she falls to the
31:31 ground almost lifeless it's when Wade
31:33 walks in to Aid her she grabs his shirt
31:36 as if she has already turned despite her
31:39 eyes now completely swallowed into the
31:42 void of Darkness she recognizes her
31:45 daddy and stops herself
31:47 the time was indeed here the method of
31:51 her end must be decided now Wade
31:55 silently grabs his gun as he eases into
31:58 his chair he finds Maggie's phone the
32:01 battery Nearly Dead with only one
32:03 picture of her mother and her when she
32:06 was a baby brightening the Shadows that
32:09 filled the room around him as he looks
32:11 up on the phone the light Fades Into
32:13 Darkness as the phone dies the vision of
32:16 his wife and child are gone unable to do
32:18 what needed to be done he falls asleep
32:21 in his chair the next morning Maggie
32:23 awakens the infections toll on her body
32:26 causing her to wheeze uncontrollably her
32:28 skin almost completely blackened as she
32:31 continuously sniffs her father's scent
32:33 as the scene intensifies and we think
32:35 she is about to sink her teeth into her
32:37 father's flesh she simply just kisses
32:41 his head while the necklace of her
32:43 mother dangles between them using the
32:45 last bits of her Humanity she is a able
32:48 to restrain herself from biting her
32:50 father as she ascends the stairs above
32:52 awake during this entire encounter Wade
32:56 had accepted his fate no matter what
32:58 would have happened Wade then opens his
33:01 eyes and arms his shotgun prepared to do
33:04 what needed to be done these words
33:07 echoing in his head think about what you
33:12 not wanting his girl to suffer or become
33:15 a monster Maggie climbs on the roof
33:18 breathing in one last breath as a living
33:20 breathing human she remembers the few
33:24 memories of her mother the spiraling
33:26 Reflection In Her Eyes capturing the
33:28 last moments of Consciousness before
33:31 either the fall the infection takes hold
33:34 of her or her father
33:37 her last thoughts were of two bits of
33:42 the first of a singular beautiful Daisy
33:45 being plucked from the earth and
33:48 descending to the sky of love the flower
33:50 that represented her in how its beauty
33:53 of life was clipped away in an instant
33:55 and the second being her holding hands
33:58 with her mother now with it all over she
34:02 can join her long-lost mother in the
34:04 Beyond in the great white light in the
34:07 answer to what comes after before it all
34:10 leads into darkness in the end of a girl
34:26 Maggie was a zombie movie unlike
34:28 anything I have seen before while some
34:31 may find it drags on for a bit I wholly
34:33 love how it shows how people are when it
34:35 comes to the aftermath of an outbreak
34:37 and coming to terms with mortality in a
34:40 short amount of time what it means to
34:42 try to get back into normalcy for
34:44 society and the cost of what that means
34:46 for anyone that becomes infected they
34:48 aren't seen as human anymore just
34:50 potential monsters that should be
34:51 corralled herded and tossed away by the
34:54 dozens how they depart this world before
34:56 succumbing to the virus not really
34:58 mattering for the greater good Maggie
35:00 saw what could have happened to her she
35:02 could have become a zombie herself that
35:04 infected and killed her loved ones
35:05 because the loved ones didn't want her
35:07 to die or be taken away to be taken into
35:09 quarantine herself to just be treated
35:11 like livestock to be stuffed in a room
35:13 to either be eaten alive or eat others
35:16 or be injected with a chemical that
35:19 would have made her last moments be
35:20 filled with unbearable pain with no one
35:23 she knows around to hold her hand and
35:25 console her into Beyond while she may
35:28 have perished with no hope of surviving
35:30 she was able to experience the
35:33 immeasurable love of her father the
35:35 glimpse of coming of age with her
35:37 friends the kiss of love and seeing the
35:40 world for what it truly is and what it
35:43 will become but also seeing Beauty
35:46 amongst all the fear
35:51 Maggie was a breath of fresh air amongst
35:54 the Sea of zombie movies I have watched
35:56 and I highly recommend it to those who
35:58 want more than just zombie killing and
36:00 surviving it's a different aspect and
36:03 taste of a zombie world even though it's
36:06 depressing as all hell I won't deny that
36:08 sometimes it's good to be reminded how
36:11 things are and also how we should
36:13 cherish the time we have with our loved
36:16 ones because you never know when things
36:18 may come to an end or when life may
36:20 suddenly come to a screeching halt and
36:23 how differently things will play out the
36:25 use of the zombie virus to show just
36:27 someone slowly fading away and what it
36:30 can turn people into and how they face
36:32 the Grim truth of death is exemplified
36:36 in this movie and I couldn't recommend
