00:00I found the top 10 most desirable
00:02careers for young people yes somebody
00:05out there actually did a study where
00:07they surveyed a bunch of young people
00:09and asked them what careers they wanted
00:11to get into in the future now a lot of
00:13these careers are exactly what you would
00:15expect but some of them are really
00:16surprising and number one on the list is
00:19actually my career well sort of do you
00:22want to get paid to argue do you want to
00:23be able to wear a suit all the time and
00:26do you want to make sure everybody else
00:27follows the rules while you don't follow
00:29them yourself well you might want to
00:31consider being number 10 on this list
00:33which is one of the most popular careers
00:36that a lot of people want to get into
00:37which is lawyer at 6.4 percent that's
00:41right 6.4 percent of young people want
00:44to be lawyers as their profession now
00:46I'm not surprised to see this one here I
00:48mean if you think about it there's lots
00:50of movies about lawyers there's lots of
00:52TV shows like suits and on top of that
00:54this used to be considered a prestigious
00:56career so parents tend to kind of push
00:59their kids into going into this type of
01:01career but with that being said I made
01:03an entire video about why being a lawyer
01:05is overrated it's extremely competitive
01:07there's not nearly as much opportunity
01:09as there was before and it's also
01:11saturated and on top of that you are
01:13going to work ridiculously long hours
01:15for a very long time before you are even
01:18able to secure a decent job and one
01:20great quote by Charles Dickens is if
01:22there were no bad people there would be
01:24no good lawyers but yeah being a lawyer
01:26is kind of like being a quarterback for
01:29legal football you get to make strategic
01:31moves to score a win for your clients
01:33while dodging any legal tackles now the
01:35next one on this list is a career that's
01:37extremely appealing to introverts now a
01:40lot of us grow up reading our favorite
01:42books like Harry Potter or Game of
01:44Thrones and some of us imagine that when
01:46we get older we can become writers
01:49ourselves and the next one on this list
01:50appeals especially to people who are
01:52introverted and love writing and that is
01:54of course becoming a writer at 8.4
01:56percent of people who want to do that
01:58when they grow up now tradition
01:59additionally this wasn't always one of
02:01the best careers what did he say
02:04in fact there's a quote that goes the
02:06freelance writer is a man who is paid
02:08per piece or per word or perhaps and
02:11that's because a lot of the time writers
02:13are not paid very good money but with
02:14that being said in recent times with the
02:16rise of the crater economy this career
02:19has been making a massive comeback and
02:21the reason for that is because all good
02:23content whether it's a video or a
02:25podcast or of course a Blog something
02:27that's written originates from good
02:29writing that's right almost all
02:31successful YouTubers script their
02:33content even if it's a vlog that seems
02:35really spontaneous usually they think
02:37about what they're going to do
02:38beforehand and the reason for that is
02:39because they're trying to tell a good
02:41story so although I would almost never
02:43recommend getting an English degree or a
02:45creative writing degree I do think this
02:47career is making a comeback and there is
02:49a ton of opportunity and I know what
02:50you're thinking you're probably thinking
02:51oh Chachi BT is going to take away all
02:53the writers jobs and I completely
02:55disagree with that I think chat gbt is
02:57going to make writing even more valuable
02:59the next one on the list is going to be
03:00for those people who can't do anything
03:02other than either playing sports or
03:04dreaming about playing sports and a very
03:07very small percentage of these people
03:09get to play sports professionally but a
03:11much bigger percentage of people can
03:13make a living by teaching others how to
03:15play sports AKA athletes and coaches and
03:18about 11.9 percent of people dream of
03:21becoming either an athlete or a teacher
03:23so this is another one of those where
03:24unless you're in the top
03:2699.99 percentile you're probably not
03:29going to be paid to be a professional
03:31athlete but with that being said if you
03:33really love baseball for instance
03:34there's a good chance you could get a
03:36job that is baseball related and another
03:38thing you could do is you could start
03:39making content about baseball so there
03:41are a lot of opportunities out there for
03:43you to make money following your passion
03:45doing what you love but a lot of the
03:46time you are going to have to think
03:47outside of the box now I personally have
03:50a massive amount of respect for athletes
03:52I'm also a huge fan of just about all
03:54sports out there my two favorite sports
03:55are probably MMA and boxing and I have a
03:58ridiculous amount of respect for anybody
04:00who does that stuff professionally
04:02they're basically like the modern day
04:03gladiators and there's a great quote an
04:06athlete cannot run with money in his
04:07pockets he must run with hope in his
04:09heart and dreams in his head right you
04:11kind of have to be a little bit crazy in
04:13my opinion to do boxing or MMA
04:15professionally and the next one on the
04:16list is also very tough to get into and
04:19if you are lucky enough to get into it
04:21everyone is probably going to hate you
04:23and distrust you and that is going to be
04:25a TV presenter I think there was a
04:28survey done that 80 percent of Americans
04:30do not trust the news and uh yeah
04:33probably for good reason but with that
04:35being said about 12.5 percent of kids
04:37want to be TV presenters now I would say
04:39with this one if you want to do a job
04:41that's very similar but has a much
04:43higher chance of success I would
04:45consider becoming an independent
04:47journalist so you would be covering the
04:49news but you would be doing it in video
04:51form on YouTube as well as your own blog
04:53and journalism is kind of a lost art
04:55that used to be all about exposing
04:58corruption and making sure that people
04:59are playing by the rules and in recent
05:01times journalism is more about actually
05:03covering up corruption so because of
05:06this there is a massive amount of demand
05:08for independent journalists who actually
05:10cover it a great example of this is
05:12coffeezilla coffeezilla is absolutely
05:15blown up in recent years by covering
05:16different crypto scams now the next one
05:18on the list is one that has probably
05:20about a hundred different TV shows and
05:23maybe a thousand different movies that
05:25were made about it and this is one
05:26that's actually very realistic for you
05:28to get into if it's something that you
05:30want to do and if you get into this
05:32you'll get to save lives wear scrubs and
05:34play with a bunch of cool medical
05:35gadgets and that is of course becoming a
05:38doctor or a nurse and about 13.5 percent
05:40of people want to get into this now this
05:42is one especially the doctor part where
05:44I personally think for most people it's
05:46pretty overrated this is another one
05:48where parents are constantly trying to
05:49force their kids into it there's lots of
05:51different TV shows it's always
05:52glamorized in movies and the news and
05:54for that reason I think a lot of people
05:56get into it for the wrong reason and
05:58that's why medical doctors have some of
06:00the highest depression rates as well as
06:01some of the lowest job satisfaction
06:03scores but I definitely only can see why
06:05getting into the medical field in
06:06general is so attractive and that's why
06:08I myself went into the medical field I
06:10actually ended up getting a doctorate
06:11and I became a pharmacist and if you
06:13look at Medical Careers they do have
06:15some of the highest meaning scores and
06:17meaning is basically a long-term
06:19indicator of your overall happiness in
06:21the career but medical doctor actually
06:23has some of the lowest scores out of all
06:24the different health careers so this is
06:26definitely one where you want to do your
06:28research before you go into it do not go
06:30into this one just because your family
06:31wants you to or because there's a bunch
06:33of cool shows that you watch about it or
06:34because you hear about it all the time
06:36on the news and you think it's going to
06:37get you a lot of clout now the next one
06:39on the list is one of my absolute
06:40favorite subjects there was a short
06:43period in my life where this is what I
06:44wanted to do as well and this is also
06:46one that until recently it was
06:48incredibly difficult to get into and
06:51that is becoming a filmmaker about 13.5
06:54percent of young people want to get into
06:56this now Hollywood is notorious for
06:58being known to be incredibly difficult
07:00to break into and one of the main
07:02reasons for that is because there is a
07:03bunch of Gatekeepers and a lot of these
07:05Gatekeepers were people like Harvey
07:07Weinstein and there are countless
07:09examples of extremely talented writers
07:11directors Etc that never made it in
07:14Hollywood now recently because of the
07:15rise of the Creator economy and the
07:17internet there's been a lot more
07:18opportunity in filmmaking and there have
07:20been many talented people who have found
07:22success in indie films or on Netflix or
07:24by just starting to create videos and
07:26then put them up on YouTube a great
07:28example of this is Jordan peel who
07:30started his career out by making comedy
07:33sketches and then uploading them to
07:34YouTube on his channel key and peel he
07:37then leveraged that to become a
07:38Hollywood director and made some great
07:39films like us get out and nope so it's
07:42definitely getting better but there's
07:43still a ton of gatekeeping and I think I
07:46speak for most normal human beings out
07:48there when I say that we're really tired
07:50of all the woke propaganda and virtue
07:52signaling that we're constantly seeing
07:54in Hollywood but with that being said
07:55the Hollywood Monopoly is breaking and
07:57there's a lot of great Alternatives that
07:59are popping up so I think the smartest
08:00way to get into this would be by
08:01starting to create content online and
08:03building a personal brand now the next
08:05one on the list is in the same industry
08:06and a lot of the same thing goes for it
08:08but you're going to be the star of the
08:10show right you're going to be the person
08:11that the camera is on like 80 of the
08:13time and that is of course becoming an
08:16actor and this one comes in at about
08:1715.7 percent and a good quote with this
08:20one is if you're an actor even a
08:22successful one you're still waiting for
08:24the phone to ring so I would give all
08:25the same advice that I gave to
08:27filmmakers to actors a smart move would
08:29be to start building your personal brand
08:31and making content online now the next
08:33one on the list is also going to be
08:34content and it's going to be the kind
08:35that probably evokes the most emotion
08:38out of any type of Art and that is of
08:40course becoming a singer so about 16 of
08:43kids want to become a musician or a
08:45singer of some sort I've heard people
08:47say that music is the one thing that
08:48makes life worth living and there's one
08:50quote without music life would be a
08:52mistake now this one I give the same
08:54exact advice you would want to start
08:56making content and this is exactly what
08:58Justin Bieber did in order to get
08:59discovered and even if you don't want to
09:01be a pop star you can still make money
09:02by making music for a living right there
09:04was one school teacher who went from
09:05being deep in debt to making millions of
09:07dollars within a few years and this is
09:09Miss Rachel who owns the YouTube show
09:11songs for Littles and she basically uses
09:13song in order to inspire and teach
09:15children with the next one on the list
09:17you can get paid to share every little
09:19detail of your life with other people
09:21from your Monday morning routines to
09:23your deepest thoughts and musings and
09:25this is exactly what Casey neistat did
09:28in order to become a worldwide known
09:30brand and that is of course blogging or
09:33vlogging and this one is at 18.1 percent
09:35now blogging is where you would share
09:37your thoughts with the written word so
09:39you'd either have a blog or a newsletter
09:41and then vlogging is where you take
09:42people through your day-to-day life but
09:44you do it with video and this is kind of
09:46like planting a seed of creativity that
09:48grows into a tree of expression and the
09:51next one on the list is very similar but
09:53it comes in at 34.1 percent of people
09:57wanting to get into it and this is of
09:59course what I am doing but I do have a
10:01little bit of a problem with calling
10:03this a job and that is of course being a
10:06YouTuber so being a YouTuber is kind of
10:08half job and half entrepreneurship
10:10because technically you are getting paid
10:12by YouTube to do this in the form of
10:14AdSense but there's also a lot of stuff
10:15you can do on the side to make money in
10:17other ways but over 34 of young people
10:20want to be YouTubers when they grow up
10:22and I'm going to be honest with you it's
10:24a lot of hard work and dedication but
10:26with that being said this is a very
10:28realistic goal it's much more realistic
10:30for instance than becoming a filmmaker
10:33or an actor and this is truly a job
10:35where you can literally make money doing
10:37your passion and as somebody who's tried
10:39a lot of different jobs out there this
10:40is definitely my favorite job that I've
10:42ever had but with that being said I do
10:44have some Pro tips for you if you want
10:46to try to get into this first of all the
10:48smartest thing like the biggest brain
10:50thing you could possibly do in order to
10:52maximize your chances of being
10:54successful as a YouTuber is to get paid
10:56to learn how to do YouTube now how the
10:58heck do you do that because you're
11:00probably thinking Shane it costs a lot
11:01of money you have to buy a camera that's
11:03going to be a family dollars then you
11:05have to learn how to edit and you have
11:06to learn how to make thumbnails and it's
11:07a lot of work well you can actually get
11:09paid to learn YouTube by working for a
11:12YouTuber and this is one of those
11:13opportunities that I talk about quite a
11:15bit on this channel so there are
11:16positions out there where you can get
11:17paid really good money to work for big
11:20YouTubers so for instance scriptwriter
11:22is one another really good one is
11:23becoming what's known as a retention
11:25editor and then another really good
11:26career you could get into is becoming a
11:28Content strategist and I'm telling you
11:30right now if you work for a successful
11:32YouTuber that is like the smartest way
11:35to learn the business of YouTube and how
11:37to be successful on here so that is what
11:39the big brain people of the world are
11:40doing now if you don't want to work for
11:42a YouTuber you can still be successful
11:43on YouTube but it's going to take a lot
11:45of time and effort you're probably going
11:47to have to upload at least 30 videos
11:48before you finally have one that pops
11:50off and does really well so yeah YouTube
11:52absolutely changed my life it's
11:54incredible I get to combine a bunch of
11:55my different passions and make them into
11:57YouTube videos and after realizing that
11:59counting pills for a living wasn't going
12:01to be my calling I trade in my white
12:03coat for a camera and I help thousands
12:05of people find their dream careers and
12:07land jobs and I actually made a list of
12:08the best remote jobs and I rank them
12:10from s tier which is the best to F tier
12:12which is the worst and you can check
12:13that out by clicking right here
