00:00the highest paying art degrees that's
00:02what we're going to be talking about
00:03today but before we get into that
00:05make sure to gently tap the like button
00:07in order to defeat the evil youtube
00:08algorithm on this channel we talk about
00:10personal finance college degrees careers
00:12and opportunities that are going to lead
00:13you to success and we also go over how
00:16you can avoid some of the common
00:17financial traps that so many people end
00:20falling for now if you're new here and
00:21that sounds like something that
00:22interests you and you haven't done it
00:24already go ahead hit the subscribe
00:25button and ring the notification bell so
00:27that you never miss an opportunity now
00:29with that being said let's get
00:30right into it this is going to be a
00:32really quick video we are going to be
00:33talking about the art degrees that have
00:36aka degrees that are going to lead to
00:38you getting jobs that have relatively
00:41now of course art related degrees aren't
00:42really known for leading to jobs that
00:44have really good pay and i've talked
00:46about this before i made other videos
00:47where i rank the best and the worst art
00:50and those videos i talk about job
00:52satisfaction growth flexibility all
00:54kinds of things like that
00:55but in this one we're just going to be
00:57sticking completely to salary
00:59number one on the list is going to be
01:02now industrial arts is going to be all
01:04about fabricating different objects
01:06using either wood or metal and it's
01:08basically kind of a combination
01:09of technology and teaching and art all
01:13you're going to learn how to use a bunch
01:14of different hand powered and machine
01:16and with this degree you can expect to
01:18make around 46 000 a year starting out
01:20and 81 000 in mid-career pay one career
01:23you could end up going into would be
01:24industrial design and you would make
01:26around sixty eight thousand dollars a
01:28forty two thousand jobs available
01:30unfortunately it's declining so in the
01:32next ten years they're going to lose
01:33around fifteen hundred jobs
01:35another one you could go into would be
01:36animation now everybody knows what
01:38animation is basically think like the
01:40lion king or all those other disney
01:41movies that we watched when we were kids
01:43who are we kidding we all still watch
01:45those movies let's be honest but
01:46animation degrees can expect to earn
01:49000 a year and 82 000 in mid-career pay
01:52if you were to become an animator you
01:54expect to earn around 75 000 a year
01:57000 jobs available and it's growing at 4
02:00which is about average meaning over the
02:01next 10 years there's going to be about
02:032 800 jobs that are added another
02:05high-paying one would be digital arts
02:07now this one is a little bit more
02:09general where it's basically any type of
02:11art that you would do on a computer now
02:12at this degree starting out in the first
02:14five years you'd make around 43
02:16000 a year and mid career pay is going
02:19with this one you might go down the same
02:20career path of becoming a multimedia
02:22artist or animator and you'd make around
02:25now keep in mind with this data that a
02:27lot of it is actually self-report data
02:29the people who didn't end up getting
02:31jobs with a degree and maybe they are
02:34without a job they would not be ones who
02:36would be reporting a
02:37salary so that's something to keep in
02:39mind because a lot of the art related
02:40degrees do have high levels of
02:43next one on the list is going to be
02:44architecture and this one is basically
02:46comes in a ba form bachelor of arts as
02:49well as a bs forum which is bachelor of
02:52and this is going to be the art or
02:53practice of designing and constructing
02:55buildings now with this degree you'd
02:58a year starting out and 87 000 in
03:01mid-career pay if you became an
03:02architect you'd make around eighty
03:04thousand dollars a year there'd be a
03:05hundred and twenty nine thousand jobs
03:07available it is growing a little bit
03:09slow at one percent which means there's
03:10only going to be about 1100 jobs that
03:12open up in the next decade
03:14keep in mind that some of the degrees on
03:15this list might also be a little bit
03:17skewed just because of the fact that a
03:19lot of people end up going to graduate
03:21school and therefore they end up making
03:23more money in the long run
03:24but they had to spend more time in order
03:26to make that money and they probably
03:28went into a lot of extra debt
03:30next one on the list is going to be
03:33and this is going to be the process of
03:34design that is applied to products that
03:37mass manufactured with this one you can
03:39expect to make around 52 000
03:41a year starting out and 93 000 in
03:43mid-career pay which is really really
03:46art degree an industrial designer
03:47according to bls makes around sixty
03:49eight thousand dollars a year there's
03:51forty two thousand jobs available but it
03:53is declining at negative four percent
03:55meaning over the next decade
03:56they are going to lose about fifteen
03:58hundred jobs if you haven't done it
