00:09 you know paulson and i are
00:11 we were chatting last night and then we
00:13 just kept talking and talking and
00:17 yeah just game planning for you guys so
00:20 yeah what's up jason jason on my macbook
00:26 what's up jason yeah we did a giveaway
00:30 and uh he won the macbook air
00:33 and it was so funny because the comments
00:35 weren't showing up i don't know why
00:37 so everyone was like no no jason's here
00:41 i was like i don't see him hey hey joel
00:45 i'm gonna make you a co-host or
00:48 that way in case my you know my internet
00:50 was crazy yesterday and it still is
00:53 so i'm gonna make you a uh hold on i'm
00:55 gonna make you a co-host in case
00:57 if i get kicked out i'll jump back again
01:04 yeah if you're not excited about this
01:08 guys if you're if anybody in here is not
01:11 i'm gonna please kindly ask you to just
01:15 because i am i am ecstatic i i really
01:18 like there's thousands of dollars worth
01:22 insights that you're gonna get that's
01:24 gonna really change the way
01:26 you do business for the next couple of
01:29 i don't know if everybody knows joel or
01:31 not it's somebody that i
01:32 truly trust i've been through his
01:34 program i know the content and if you
01:37 action it will change your whole entire
01:40 business model and your game so i don't
01:43 want to take any more time
01:44 joel it's all yours buddy let's dive in
01:48 i'm already recording um if you're
01:50 excited give us a one in the chat
01:52 and tell us how you're feeling if you're
01:54 having a great day or not
01:56 today's moment right now we're gonna go
01:58 into some growth strategies and kind of
02:00 really really help you understand what
02:02 this whole game of agency is all about
02:05 and uh let's get started guys the the if
02:08 if we can get as many ones as we
02:11 you know i love the engagement so i know
02:14 we broke a thousand comments on my last
02:16 live which is crazy
02:18 but uh guys who who does it drop a two
02:22 know me if you don't know me drop a two
02:25 okay there's there's a few twos
02:28 cool so i don't have time for an
02:32 so i'm gonna make it super super super
02:35 and what you can also do is check out
02:38 that paulson and i did where we did a
02:40 whole introduction we explained why
02:43 but jumping right to it like paulson if
02:46 you had to give a 60 second introduction
02:48 about me and then we'll jump right in
02:51 um in less than a short amount of time
02:55 60 seconds yeah yeah in a short amount
02:59 i know joel and his partner marcos
03:02 at least three agencies to 300k monthly
03:06 skilled one and we scaled other ones
03:09 to other to other revenue marks we did
03:13 50k in 60 days we have some other pretty
03:17 the main one does over 300k a month
03:21 the main one right so so to me it's
03:24 somebody that we've got to listen to
03:25 uh when it comes to sales and
03:27 prospecting and systems and things like
03:29 that and that's why
03:30 i'm excited to bring joel in but yeah
03:32 joe go right ahead buddy awesome well
03:34 for those of you guys that don't know me
03:36 uh i skilled an agency in the past three
03:38 years to over 200 clients
03:40 and after scaling so quickly
03:43 and so efficiently uh i started getting
03:47 asked by so many people
03:48 to coach them on scaling their agencies
03:52 over the past i'd say two years now we
03:56 a program which has created a ton of
03:58 seven-figure agents
04:00 agencies it's created an even bigger
04:02 number of six-figure agencies
04:04 and uh paulson reached out to me
04:07 about a month ago and was like joel what
04:11 everything that you normally teach and
04:14 do a workshop a 10-day workshop
04:18 sharing how you would scale an agency to
04:22 10 000 as quickly as possible
04:25 using high level and over the next 10
04:28 days that's exactly what we're gonna
04:30 into and uh here we go so
04:34 guys we're officially live for the how
04:36 to scale and agency to 10k
04:39 10 day workshop and my goal over the
04:43 is to give you the road map to building
04:47 to ten thousand dollars now if you're
04:48 excited if you're ready to go
04:50 drop a one below and uh let's
04:57 before i actually get into the content i
05:01 draw a really important warning and
05:04 it's going to sound a little dull and
05:06 it's going to sound a little
05:08 harsh but i think it's really really
05:09 important especially because there's a
05:10 lot of people in this game
05:12 that promise big results they promise a
05:17 and uh they can't back it up
05:20 and one of the reasons why is because
05:21 they set false expectations and they
05:24 lead you to believe that it's going to
05:26 than it actually is so i do want to give
05:29 you guys a warning and i do this because
05:31 my moral duty to give you guys what you
05:35 what you need to hear not what you want
05:38 again in this space there's so many
05:40 other coaches that tell you what you
05:41 want to hear because it's
05:43 so much easier to get you to take out
05:45 your credit card but
05:46 if you really care about your own
05:48 results and if i really care about your
05:51 i have to share with you what you
05:54 actually need to hear to get to 10k with
05:58 with that in mind it does take a lot of
06:02 so for example i started my i ran my
06:06 ever google ad campaign for my family's
06:10 10 years ago so even if i started my
06:14 three years ago at that point i already
06:16 had seven years of experience
06:18 running advertisements for a local
06:22 and it's easy to see
06:25 the success that i've had in three years
06:27 and ignore the fact that i've been at
06:28 this game for over 10 years
06:30 what you guys also don't see is that
06:34 this is my third business my agency was
06:36 the third business i had ever
06:38 uh launched and you don't see all the
06:42 time that i had invested into other
06:43 businesses prior so
06:46 you have to keep in mind when you see
06:47 people claim these crazy results
06:50 you have to always see the other side
06:53 often there's it's never just
06:57 the result there's always a lot of time
06:59 dedication and sacrifice that went into
07:02 to be able to accomplish those sorts of
07:06 it also takes a lot of hard work for
07:09 i had someone reach out to me today and
07:11 i'm not going to share the conversation
07:13 but they were like do i have to work if
07:15 i sign up for your program
07:16 and i said what what do you mean of
07:19 course you have to work
07:20 if i could wire transfer you guys 10k
07:23 trust me i would but that doesn't exist
07:25 and anyone that tells you otherwise
07:27 doesn't actually care about you
07:29 and doesn't care about getting you the
07:31 best results humanly possible
07:33 so it does take a lot of hard work and
07:37 by the way paulson i don't know if you
07:38 hear this but every time someone joins i
07:41 yeah that's because we're both uh hosts
07:44 but nobody else can hear that
07:45 okay it's like super hard to concentrate
07:50 i've got literally people fitting in
07:52 every five seconds i've had at least 20
07:54 people joining the last two minutes and
07:57 guys the past five minutes i've just
07:59 been hearing ding ding
08:00 every time yeah i i think it's my zoom
08:04 setting and i don't know how to turn it
08:06 but just bear with me i think after a
08:08 while we'll kind of coast into the
08:10 uh but yeah people people are gonna be
08:12 jumping in just so you know and as you
08:14 as soon as you jump in guys just go
08:16 ahead and mute yourself
08:18 put your comments and all those things
08:21 we're gonna go through it as much as we
08:23 can at the end of the conversations okay
08:25 and remember we're not gonna we're not
08:26 gonna go through the entire content in
08:28 day one remember that i know you all are
08:30 but there's gonna be a pace to this
08:32 there's a lot of work here
08:37 so guys takes a lot of hard work i used
08:39 to work at a nine to five
08:41 and i would go home after working from
08:44 nine to five and i would work from six
08:48 week after week after week after week
08:52 i really believe in this idea when
08:54 you're just starting out in nine to nine
08:55 days like that's just
08:57 what it takes to make it happen and
08:59 obviously i believe in
09:01 balance i believe in taking care of
09:03 yourself i believe in
09:04 maintaining good mental physical and
09:08 health along the journey but that
09:11 mean that it's going to be easy it
09:12 requires a lot of hard work and a lot of
09:14 the people that you see succeeding it
09:16 did not happen overnight they
09:17 put their blood sweat and tears to make
09:21 also everyone starts off at a different
09:23 point you have to keep in mind
09:25 if you've been in sales for the past 10
09:26 years even though you've never ran a
09:29 if you start a marketing agency it's
09:31 going to be so much easier for you to
09:32 get to 10k compared to someone that's
09:34 never been in a client-facing role ever
09:36 in their entire life
09:39 so when we talk about scaling the 10k
09:42 you have to also be self-aware of where
09:44 you're at in the journey and you also
09:46 can't judge yourself
09:48 based on where you're at in the journey
09:49 you have to respect and honor
09:52 and humble yourself to your position and
09:55 who you are and where you're at for
09:58 by the time i started my agency like i
10:00 said i had already been running google
10:02 ads for seven years
10:03 i had already started two other
10:06 and i had been in a client-facing role
10:08 since my first business
10:10 at the age of 18 where i dj'd for
10:13 wedding i dj'd weddings that's what i
10:15 did that was my first ever business
10:17 just because my parents owned a wedding
10:18 venue made perfect sense
10:21 and the point is i had
10:24 been managing clients managing
10:26 expectations doing sales for years
10:29 even though i only started my agency
10:33 so you have to be really aware of where
10:34 you're at in the journey and know that
10:36 even if you don't hit 10k as fast as
10:40 doesn't mean that you can't do it it
10:43 it's so much harder for you you might
10:45 just be at a different level
10:47 in your life and you might just be at a
10:51 so it's just really important to be
10:56 i will also say this not everyone was
10:58 going to make it at a certain point in
10:59 time like i said it might take longer
11:02 it might take it might be faster for you
11:05 the last thing i'll say is that if
11:06 you're starting out from absolute
11:08 scratch going from zero to one is the
11:14 going from 1k to 10k is so much easier
11:18 than going from 0 to 1k going from 10k
11:22 is so much easier than going from zero
11:25 to go from zero to one requires so much
11:28 leveling up in terms of your character
11:31 and in terms of your skills
11:33 that you don't have to do once you're
11:40 the reason i'm starting off with this
11:41 guys is because these are the things
11:43 that no one else tells you in this space
11:45 and they tell you it's going to be easy
11:47 and they tell you oh these are my three
11:48 simple steps to 10k
11:50 but you know what guys that's bs
11:53 and they're setting yourself they're
11:55 setting you up to fail because the
11:56 moment you don't get
11:57 quick results you're going to start
11:59 questioning yourself you're going to
12:00 start questioning your abilities and
12:02 you're going to want to give up
12:04 and it's really important to see the
12:05 bigger picture so that you stay
12:06 committed to the long
12:07 to the journey long enough to actually
12:11 so with that in mind i will say it is
12:14 absolutely so so worth it
12:16 no matter where you're at it is
12:17 absolutely so so worth it to commit and
12:20 to go all in because it is a dedication
12:23 who you are and it is a dedication to
12:26 leveling up your life
12:27 and being able to impact everyone around
12:30 you on this journey
12:32 so uh i know that's kind of dark
12:35 and probably not the best message that
12:36 you guys want to hear but it's really
12:38 important and i did want to just start
12:39 off before we go into any content
12:41 with that really really important
12:43 warning now if you're ready for more fun
12:46 and you're ready to dive into the actual
12:48 content drop a one below
12:50 show some love and let's keep going so
12:54 over the next 10 days this is what we're
12:57 today we're going to talk about the
12:58 mindset required to go from 0 to 10k
13:01 tomorrow we're going to talk about how
13:03 to pick the perfect niche
13:05 day three we're going to talk about
13:09 day four we're going to talk about
13:10 building your prospecting lists
13:13 day five we're going to talk about
13:14 organic prospecting
13:16 day six we're going to talk about paid
13:20 day seven we're going to talk about
13:21 intro call day eight demo call day nine
13:24 client results and then day ten
13:26 going beyond 10k now
13:29 when i first met up with paulson to go
13:33 10-day workshop he was like joel i want
13:36 i want you to give everyone in the
13:38 high-level community
13:39 specific tactics strategies i don't want
13:43 and i promise you guys i'm going to give
13:46 you guys the scripts i'm going to give
13:48 i'm going to give you guys the
13:49 plug-and-play strategies and tactics
13:52 to the point that all you're going to
13:53 have to do is commit to sending the
13:56 to start getting booked appointments for
13:58 your agency with that in mind
14:01 we can't give you guys those things
14:03 unless we tackle mindset for at least
14:06 one day and i was like paul said can we
14:09 one mindset day before we dive into the
14:13 actual strategies so for day one we're
14:17 going to talk about
14:19 how to become a 10k human being
14:22 so that you can actually scale an agency
14:25 and uh with that in mind a quick
14:30 just so you know like when i used to get
14:32 courses you know what i would do
14:34 i knew the first portions are typically
14:38 and i would skip it and go to the meat
14:41 and three months later four months later
14:44 i would have to go back and review those
14:48 whichever courses and it will bite me
14:51 right joel can you talk about what that
14:55 you know is it a good idea to skip over
14:59 where do you see the best students
15:00 coming out of this when they don't skip
15:03 tell i tell people all the time the
15:05 hardest part of my job
15:07 as a coach is not giving you guys the
15:10 it's not giving you guys the perfect ad
15:13 it's not giving you guys the perfect
15:16 those are all a given like you're gonna
15:18 get those the hardest part of my job is
15:20 convincing you guys to actually believe
15:22 in yourselves and to take action that is
15:26 the absolute hardest part of my job i'll
15:29 give you another example
15:31 uh pawson and i were talking the other
15:32 day and he was like joel your ad
15:35 strategy to get clients is not that
15:38 you know what the hardest part about
15:41 and teaching you guys paid ads to start
15:43 getting your own clients
15:44 is convincing you guys to just run paid
15:47 to get the clients it's not the ad
15:51 it's not the lead form walkthrough it's
15:52 not the script it's none of that
15:56 the hardest part is actually getting you
15:58 to believe in yourself
16:00 to the point where you're willing to
16:01 invest money that you can
16:03 lose to be able to turn that money into
16:09 and go through that cycle of emotional
16:12 ups and downs at the very beginning when
16:16 working because the very beginning it's
16:19 going to require some tweaking before it
16:22 work so i truly believe that
16:27 the the biggest two things holding most
16:30 people back from 10k
16:32 is who they are their character and
16:36 their ability to communicate their
16:37 ability to set up a facebook ad
16:40 all that good stuff now the skills we're
16:44 what's really hard then becomes you
16:46 leveling up your character
16:47 who you are and if you don't first start
16:51 then all the other stuff is irrelevant
16:55 and what i'd like to do today is show
16:57 you who you need to become
16:59 as an entrepreneur to be able to then go
17:02 out and apply your skills
17:07 and this is something that i teach my
17:09 clients all the time you have to become
17:11 figure human being before you can become
17:14 a seven figure entrepreneur
17:16 and today i want to talk about one step
17:20 backwards i want to talk about what it
17:23 takes to become a 10k human being so
17:25 that you can go out
17:27 and become a 10k entrepreneur
17:30 so here we go first things first the 10k
17:34 human being takes the first
17:38 step a lot of you guys
17:44 are getting more information and more
17:46 information and more information
17:48 you're learning you're learning you're
17:50 learning you're thinking
17:51 you're doing all these things you're
17:54 doing everything except taking the first
17:59 so for example you guys are watching
18:02 courses on how to set appointments
18:05 to get more clients but then you never
18:07 send a message to a prospect saying hey
18:10 would you be interested in working
18:15 or a lot of you guys are out there
18:17 learning how to get results for clients
18:20 but you don't even have a client to
18:24 and the analogy that i like to give is
18:26 you guys are all trying to get good at
18:29 by watching youtube videos and never
18:31 going out in the court and shooting the
18:32 freaking basketball
18:37 and this is totally normal by the way i
18:40 was like this a lot of people starting
18:43 are like this and i really really want
18:45 to drive that point home
18:47 it's it's normal for us to do this
18:49 because all we're doing is protecting
18:52 ourselves from going out to the world
18:57 facing the fear of failure you know
19:00 robert kiyosaki talks about this all the
19:01 time what's the number one reason people
19:04 will not go out and be successful is
19:06 because they're paralyzed by the fear
19:09 of failure they're afraid to go out and
19:11 shoot the basketball and miss but the
19:13 reality is if you never take the first
19:15 step out into the court and shoot the
19:17 and then keep shooting you're never
19:19 gonna get good at basketball no matter
19:20 how many youtube videos you watch how
19:22 many courses you take no matter if you
19:24 hire the best coach in the world for
19:27 you guys could hire phil jackson who's
19:29 one of the greatest coaches of all time
19:31 11 nba championships to help you with
19:35 your shot but if you never go out into
19:37 and shoot the ball there's nothing he
19:40 could ever tell you to get you better at
19:44 so the first point guys to to become a
19:47 10k human being you have to be willing
19:49 to take the first step
19:51 to set up your ads and potentially fail
19:53 to send 10 messages to prospects and
19:57 to get on the call get on the phone and
20:00 call a few prospects
20:02 and potentially fail you have to be
20:04 willing to take the first step
20:06 and get out of paralysis by analysis
20:13 you also have to be reactive instead of
20:17 and this is a really hard lesson to
20:18 learn because the entire
20:20 world teaches us to be proactive instead
20:25 the entire world is teaching us to think
20:28 before we act it makes sense too
20:32 right it's like logically you're like
20:33 yeah of course why wouldn't i think
20:36 in entrepreneurship especially when
20:38 you're starting out this is advice
20:39 specifically for people going to 10k
20:42 you have to act think and then act again
20:50 i don't know who who here has read the
20:51 book uh ready fire aim
20:54 or at least heard about it drop a one if
21:01 all of you guys are aiming
21:04 and then you never fire but you have to
21:08 fire then look up and then aim again
21:12 or for example in basketball you have to
21:17 feel it in your hands feel it how it
21:20 and then think okay what could i have
21:22 done better next time i shot it way too
21:24 much to the right let me move it to the
21:27 or wow i just threw the ball at the
21:30 backboard it looked that was awful let
21:37 can i make a confession real quick on
21:40 when i when i when i first started can't
21:44 no but feel free to stop me because i
21:46 don't want to take you away from your
21:48 but i remember when i first started off
21:50 i found myself working at home
21:53 nobody else was home my wife was at work
21:56 you know nobody else is around and i'm
21:58 like oh i've got to be self-disciplined
22:01 to take these shots and i would get
22:05 i'll have my morning routine i'll work
22:08 then i'll do my affirmations and i'm
22:11 like okay breakfast oh crap it's already
22:14 i don't even know what happened right
22:16 and then i'm on this catch-up mode rest
22:20 and i send out like 10 maybe 15 messages
22:24 as soon as like the first snow comes
22:26 back i'm done with that strategy that's
22:28 literally what i did
22:29 the first two years
22:32 got guys cold for example one of the
22:34 when i first started out we scaled the
22:37 just with referrals and cold email then
22:40 i started doing paid ads and we ended up
22:42 uh three hundred thousand dollars a
22:43 month but the very beginning
22:45 cold email didn't work didn't work it
22:48 didn't work it didn't work
22:49 until it worked because i kept
22:53 taking action then thinking and
22:55 reevaluating and tweaking
22:57 then taking action then thinking then
23:01 uh taking more action the problem guys
23:04 a lot of you are proactive you're
23:08 about steps eight nine and ten before
23:10 taking step number one
23:12 and at the very beginning it's
23:13 counterintuitive but you have to be much
23:18 does everyone know the difference
23:19 between reactive and proactive
23:22 reactive is when something happens
23:23 you're like oh crap what do i have to do
23:27 proactive is when you're like let me
23:28 think about this okay what should i do
23:31 the very beginning you should try to
23:34 actually push yourself to be in a
23:36 state as much as possible where you're
23:37 taking action you're like oh my god what
23:39 let's fix it or let's do more of that
23:43 and it's extremely counter-intuitive but
23:45 you have to lean into that
23:48 all right let's keep going there's a lot
23:49 here so i want to get through this next
23:51 up to become a 10k human being
23:55 the biggest problem with our brain
23:59 at the very beginning is that we are
24:03 of failure and rejection we fear it
24:08 so then what our brain gets us to do
24:11 to stay in a comfortable spot
24:15 is take action on things that do not
24:19 like building your website like getting
24:24 all these things like setting up your
24:26 linkedin profile to look perfect
24:28 dude i redid my business cards five
24:32 hey i made a i spent i spent a week on a
24:35 website guys and then i spent
24:37 days on a freaking sticker to put in
24:40 laptop it was like it was ridiculous
24:45 days on a freaking sticker and
24:48 uh i was like oh we're going to go to
24:50 coffee shops and people are going to ask
24:51 me about the sticker
24:52 that never happened and
24:56 the reason why we focus on tasks
24:59 that don't have any real consequence is
25:03 safe if you fail at bit at building your
25:06 website nothing happens to you
25:09 if you fail at designing a beautiful
25:13 business card nothing happens to you you
25:16 face rejection and you don't have to
25:20 failure and what happens is your brain
25:23 is giving you a sense of momentum
25:26 like oh i'm doing a lot of stuff i'm
25:29 but it's not actually getting you
25:36 so you have to become a human being that
25:40 that your brain is trying to keep you
25:43 and trying to protect you and the way
25:46 that it does that is by focusing on
25:48 tasks that give you a false sense of
25:50 progress and focusing on tasks that give
25:52 you a false sense of momentum
25:54 that actually don't matter and what you
25:57 is stop doing all of those things and
26:01 on tasks that push you towards failure
26:05 and push you towards rejection because
26:07 those are the only tasks that will
26:09 actually get you to
26:13 the way that i've helped my clients do
26:17 following this phrase set and close
26:21 that's the only thing that matters
26:23 setting and closing appointments
26:27 if you're not focused 80 or more of your
26:29 time at the beginning
26:30 on setting and closing appointments you
26:32 are doing it wrong you are that is wrong
26:38 for example i built our consulting
26:42 to multi-seven figures we still don't
26:51 it does not matter even though you think
26:53 it does it does not
26:54 it's just your brain protecting you
26:59 just like when we go and do something
27:03 and your brain makes you feel like for
27:04 example if you go on an airplane
27:06 for the first time airplanes are safer
27:10 so logically you're in an extremely safe
27:13 and it's an extremely safe mode of
27:15 transportation but your brain
27:17 makes you feel like oh my god i'm up in
27:19 the sky this thing might fall
27:22 you don't listen to your brain you
27:24 ignore it you're like
27:25 this is safe however in business for
27:28 some reason you guys are always
27:29 listening to your brain
27:30 but your brain is giving you the wrong
27:34 and it's giving you the wrong
27:35 information so yeah we have to really
27:39 turn it off dial it back and focus on
27:41 setting and closing appointments
27:44 to help you do that i'm showing you the
27:48 whiteboard in our kitchen when we first
27:50 started our agency and we were working
27:52 we had this up all the time is it
27:55 getting us closer to a sale
27:57 if yes continue if not stop and ask
28:05 this is this is i pulled this from my
28:07 phone this is a picture i took
28:08 almost three years ago now it was our
28:10 whiteboard in our kitchen
28:12 and this is what we would do all day
28:15 that's a lot of markers bro
28:18 don't judge remember what i said at the
28:20 beginning everyone's at a different
28:21 stage in their journey
28:24 got a lot of markers you know all right
28:30 you have to kill all and actually before
28:32 we do is that making sense guys
28:34 is this valuable if it is drop a one
28:38 i can i can see at least five six people
28:40 in here that have gotten on a call with
28:43 regarding marketplace or something else
28:45 and i've had this conversation with you
28:47 at least two three months ago
28:49 right at least four or five of you that
28:52 i can see right now that we've had this
28:55 right so for joel to come in and say the
28:59 and he's been the same path that i have
29:01 been and others have been
29:03 there is something to it guys this whole
29:05 mindset thing has a
29:07 that's 80 of the battle it's not
29:10 the tactics the tactics are going to
29:14 quarter one to two to three to four it
29:19 exactly but if i give you guys a script
29:21 on thursday or friday which i will
29:23 to go out and set appointments but none
29:25 of you guys actually take it
29:27 and then send it to hundreds of
29:29 prospects it's not gonna work
29:34 the script works you don't so first we
29:39 maybe fix is the wrong word maybe level
29:42 right i think that's a better better
29:45 first we got to make sure that you level
29:47 up to be able to actually take those
29:49 and execute on them
29:54 quote all right let's keep going
29:58 and this is not in any particular order
30:00 by the way this is just all the things
30:02 you need to think about to get
30:05 to become a 10k human being you have to
30:07 absolutely kill all shiny objects
30:11 most people starting off what they do is
30:14 they build backup plans in their mind
30:17 plan b plan c plan d when i first
30:22 i had i was gonna launch an info product
30:25 like i was going after multiple niches
30:28 so if this one didn't work i had this
30:32 i was looking for part-time work
30:36 just to have all my eggs in multiple
30:40 baskets and feel safe but you have to
30:44 at the very beginning to move the needle
30:47 and actually go from zero to one
30:49 requires more effort more commitment
30:52 more focus more intensity
30:54 than pretty much anything else in this
30:57 journey of entrepreneurship
30:59 so you absolutely must kill all shiny
31:03 all in and if you really care about
31:06 security and if you really care about
31:08 playing it safe and having a backup plan
31:12 then you need to make plan a your backup
31:15 is the only plan going all in is
31:18 how you get security going all in is how
31:22 certainty in your business but again as
31:26 as when we start out our brain is
31:29 and it's trying to protect us so what do
31:32 we start an e-com brand we
31:36 launch a quick little side info product
31:38 we're working on our affiliate program
31:40 to help promote high level a little bit
31:44 getting a few deals that way we're also
31:46 getting clients for our
31:48 marketing agency and now we have split
31:51 feel safe because if this doesn't work
31:55 but we then don't have enough energy to
31:58 go all in on one thing and actually move
32:00 the needle and get it off the ground
32:04 so my recommendation to all my clients
32:07 always is to build a six-month contract
32:12 and the six-month contract should state
32:14 that you're gonna stick to one business
32:15 and one niche for at least six months
32:17 before moving on to the next thing
32:21 and really you should be more like 12
32:22 months but most of you guys
32:25 won't be able to commit that so see i
32:28 can already see the brains
32:29 like thinking oh what's going to be a
32:32 good niche what if i screw up
32:34 picking the wrong niche i can already
32:36 see it just watching
32:37 you guys those questions coming up it's
32:41 it's protection that's right this run
32:45 yeah and i think um it wasn't until i
32:48 in that my business took off like we had
32:51 we made all these mistakes everything
32:52 i'm sharing is from my own personal
32:54 experience at one point
32:56 uh i almost gave up on my agency to the
32:59 was applying for jobs again and
33:03 it was hard for me as well and a lot of
33:05 these lessons i learned from my own
33:08 lack of success at the beginning
33:11 for example when i started out we were
33:14 we were working with
33:16 roofers chiropractors uh dentists
33:20 artists e-com brands like i was i i had
33:26 that sold a rock climbing product it was
33:29 totally unrelated from everything else
33:32 and what ended up happening is that my
33:34 brain was having to build
33:36 multiple businesses at the same time
33:39 and that's impossible you'll never be
33:45 so this is one of the i
33:48 this is one of the biggest mistakes i
33:50 see and everyone is trying to find a
33:53 and there is no workaround
33:57 the work around is just to go all in
34:00 because then you're going to build an
34:02 enough momentum to get
34:03 past the struggle at the beginning
34:07 now what i wanted to say is the very
34:09 beginning in your journey there's always
34:11 going to be a lack of success
34:15 it's not like you're going to start day
34:16 one and now you're 10k that doesn't
34:20 and if it does and you get to 10 take
34:23 quickly it's gonna be short-lived you're
34:25 probably going to come
34:26 back down for most people maybe there's
34:28 an outlier here and there but
34:30 for most people at the very beginning
34:32 there's going to be a lack of success
34:34 and you need to build enough momentum to
34:36 be able to get out of that hole
34:40 and you also need to be to build enough
34:43 momentum to get out of that hole without
34:44 getting distracted by something new
34:46 which puts you right back into the hole
34:50 most of you guys are not building enough
34:51 momentum to get out of the hole
34:54 and really start moving forward
34:58 in a good direction the only way to do
35:01 that is by killing all shiny objects
35:06 all right next up to trust to uh become
35:09 a 10k human being you also have to trust
35:15 like i just mentioned at the very
35:16 beginning there's a lack of success at
35:22 we want an immediate response to our
35:25 so most of us want to take an action and
35:29 response to it see if it worked or
35:30 didn't but we have to keep in mind in
35:33 there's a delayed effect on the results
35:39 so a lot of us i call it the popcorn
35:44 how many of you guys have made popcorn
35:45 in the past like in your microwave
35:48 give me a show of hands if you have cool
35:51 if you haven't i guess that's kind of
35:53 because uh i don't know i feel like most
35:56 of you guys have been on the planet for
35:57 long enough to make popcorn
36:00 but when you put the bag of popcorn in
36:07 when you put it in you and you press
36:08 start does it automatically
36:15 and it's actually like third if you
36:17 actually go do it today it's about
36:19 20 to 30 seconds before you hear the
36:24 and then you hear pop pop pop and then
36:28 a minute and a half in the bag is
36:33 what happens is most of you guys start
36:35 taking action through the first 20
36:36 seconds and you don't hear a pop
36:38 and then you stop because you think that
36:45 so you have to trust in the popcorn
36:46 effect and you have to trust that
36:48 the bag is going to start popping and
36:50 it's just around the corner
36:55 because all of you guys are like trying
36:57 to fix the microwave you're like it's
36:59 not working and it's only been 10
37:04 so to become a 10k human being you have
37:08 patient and being able to see the
37:15 like i said at the very beginning it
37:18 actually at the very beginning there's a
37:21 you're going to start wanting to change
37:22 everything or give up or switch niches
37:24 but in reality you have to just hang
37:28 long enough to start seeing the results
37:33 here's what i wrote down here everyone
37:35 thinks that it's zero and then one
37:38 it's actually zero zero zero zero zero
37:40 zero then one two four eight sixteen
37:44 that's how results happen
37:48 it's just like a bag of popcorn
37:55 any questions about that i'll take a
37:59 q a break or i don't know if that's
38:00 going to be too much of a
38:06 you know what that whole popcorn thing
38:08 is you know for those of you
38:09 that have business development minds
38:12 what that talks about is the sales cycle
38:14 average sales cycle for an agency like
38:17 we've done some numbers
38:19 it takes us like quite often somewhere
38:21 between 25 to 45 days
38:24 to actually close a deal from initial
38:28 right so your sales cycles are already
38:31 enough for retainers so that's what this
38:35 effect really matters because you have
38:38 to have enough sales cycles launched
38:40 properly for you to get those results in
38:43 a delayed fashion and that's
38:44 completely normal just so you guys know
38:49 yeah especially when you're still having
38:51 to build your character and your skills
38:55 it's gonna take even longer
38:58 for the popcorn to start popping so
39:01 that's when you guys start to blame your
39:03 or the script or the strategies but it's
39:05 really just a matter of time
39:10 let's see is this helpful guys you guys
39:13 you guys it's like too quiet i know
39:16 i'm like i'm not used to the everybody
39:19 just caning in listening
39:22 yeah if you if if you guys are finding
39:26 drop a one below if you're not drop a
39:27 two let me know as well
39:33 i know it's mindset i know it's not sexy
39:35 everyone wants the scripts we're gonna
39:37 get to the scripts but again
39:39 you guys are gonna send one message and
39:41 be like joel it didn't work
39:43 and i'm gonna be like remember the
39:44 popcorn effect maybe you gotta send a
39:48 and then watch the popcorn start to pop
39:52 so all right let's see
39:58 dimitrios just joined he said what did i
40:03 uh we were we gave we gave away an
40:05 entire macbook air and you had one but
40:07 you weren't here to claim it so
40:10 you missed that by the way sad little
40:13 story i did that in my group
40:15 and then jason ended up winning but the
40:18 you had to be there live to win and they
40:21 and it just caused so much drama it was
40:24 but uh anyways here we go
40:28 to become a 10k human being you also
40:31 forget your emotions
40:34 and i know this is a harsh message i'm
40:36 not telling you not to be compassionate
40:40 need to lead with your heart that's one
40:41 of my core values you need to do the
40:43 you have to do whatever whatever it
40:45 takes to win as long as you do it with
40:47 you have to be a good human being i'm
40:49 not saying don't be compassionate i'm
40:51 absolutely not saying don't care about
40:54 what i mean by forget your emotions is
40:57 them dictate your actions
41:02 and i don't know if you guys have ever
41:05 invested money in the stock market or at
41:09 read a book by warren buffett or his
41:11 strategies or anything like that and
41:13 they say the best stock traders in the
41:15 are not emotional that way if there's a
41:20 tight they trust in the process
41:24 they don't let the dips
41:27 dictate their actions
41:31 so even if the stock market is down it
41:32 doesn't mean that they're going to pull
41:34 they hang in and if we actually look at
41:37 500 which is the average of the top 500
41:46 check this out we're down today
41:51 we're down in the stock market but if we
41:54 at the results over time there's an
41:57 upward trend so if we were to judge the
41:59 s p 500 on any given day like today
42:03 we would say oh this isn't working let's
42:06 but if we look at it from a 30 000 foot
42:09 view over a longer period of time we
42:10 could actually see that it is working
42:13 and what happens guys is you are letting
42:19 affect everything whenever there's one
42:21 day where it doesn't work
42:23 and it's stopping you from seeing the
42:27 so to become a 10k human being you have
42:32 not let the anxiety the fear
42:35 the negative emotions that are going to
42:36 come up the insecurity dictate
42:40 all of your actions in the day-to-day
42:45 and again guys this is normal like this
42:47 is what i went through
42:49 as soon as something like as soon as i
42:50 would get a rejection
42:52 or i would get told no or things weren't
42:54 clicking or a client would
42:55 cancel like i remember getting the first
42:58 saying hey i would like to cancel your
43:00 services i took the whole day off
43:03 i was like in a state of like just like
43:06 uh i just went numb
43:07 i i remember i slept the whole entire
43:09 day and i was like i don't know if i
43:12 that's letting my emotions get in the
43:14 way and not seeing the bigger picture
43:18 in a perfect world i would have said
43:20 okay this is normal we're going to have
43:22 let me just keep sending messages and
43:24 continue to show up and
43:26 let's reevaluate in four weeks and see
43:30 and in four weeks we probably would have
43:31 gotten an extra few clients and that one
43:33 client that dropped
43:34 wouldn't have even mattered
43:43 we're almost done on uh actually no
43:46 wow i have so much mindset stuff we can
43:51 uh if we don't get to everything today
43:53 the whole point is just to get you guys
43:54 thinking about these things and moving
43:56 in the right direction so that when we
43:57 all the strategic stuff you actually
44:01 which like i said is the hardest part
44:03 about this whole journey
44:05 so uh with that in mind let's keep going
44:08 i have a question for you joel yeah that
44:14 month contract can we just do a one or
44:18 two minute elaboration on that six month
44:20 contract to yourself because
44:22 i've seen agencies get on calls with me
44:25 they were in a different industry a
44:27 month later they're coming to me about a
44:29 it drives me kind of crazy to be honest
44:31 because i know that they didn't focus on
44:33 one thing long enough
44:35 right or they come up with a new package
44:37 that nobody's ever seen and their niche
44:40 but they self convince them into
44:43 5 000 lead magnets right can you talk
44:47 about that six month contract
44:49 to yourself you know how strict do you
44:53 yeah what we did it was pretty funny we
44:57 me and my business partner in the agency
44:59 realized that we were all over the place
45:02 and every time we would get a new
45:04 opportunity it was so tempting to just
45:06 yes instead of learning the power of
45:08 saying no and focusing
45:10 so what we did is we created a contract
45:13 that stated that if we switched
45:15 niches or took on any opportunities
45:18 outside of our number one niche
45:20 over the next six months we would lose
45:22 equity in the business
45:24 and we printed it it was an actual
45:26 contract we signed it we put it up on
45:32 if we ended up switching niches i'm sure
45:34 we wouldn't have lost the equity
45:36 but this the psychological
45:39 exercise of going through that and
45:41 printing it and signing it
45:44 you're you're telling the world hey i'm
45:48 even if there was no real consequence i
45:50 think it's pretty powerful to go through
45:52 that mental exercise of being like hey
45:55 i'm gonna do this i'm gonna sign a
45:56 contract with myself and go all in
46:00 so that's what we did
46:04 and we just we wrote something out
46:07 and uh stating we're gonna stick to this
46:11 niche for the next six months we're
46:12 gonna say no to any opportunities
46:13 outside of the niche
46:18 decide to take on something else the
46:20 person that made that decision
46:22 loses their equity they get kicked out
46:28 again at the beginning you gotta like
46:31 it's like your brain is against you
46:32 and you have to just play games with it
46:35 i'll give you another example this is
46:36 something we used to do all the time
46:39 we used to make the consequence of not
46:43 more painful and scarier than just
46:48 so what we would do is we would tell
46:50 ourselves like if we don't
46:52 send 100 messages today then i will pay
46:54 you a thousand bucks
46:57 or if it was like 1500 right were you
47:02 all night following up with people i've
47:05 done some crazy stuff you can't
47:07 over rely on that strategy if you
47:09 actually commit to it because you'll
47:10 burn out your central nervous system
47:12 because then you're like i got to do
47:13 this no matter what it's like
47:15 you go into a like do or die
47:19 mode and you can't sustain that forever
47:23 the point is if you're if you've been
47:25 like saying yeah i'm gonna do this yeah
47:26 i'm gonna do this yeah i'm gonna do this
47:28 and you still don't do it and you still
47:29 don't do it and you still don't do it it
47:31 sending your friend a thousand dollars
47:33 on venmo and telling them hey
47:34 don't give this back to me until i do it
47:38 because now the thousand dollars losing
47:41 a thousand dollars especially the
47:42 beginning is more painful
47:44 than just sending the hundred messages
47:48 and then you send the hundred messages
47:49 you realize it's not a scary and again
47:51 you took the first step so it's much
47:53 send the next 200 messages in the next
47:58 so you can definitely play these mind
47:59 games with yourself
48:01 to force yourself into more action
48:06 um you could also do like competitions
48:09 like with your friends you can also do
48:13 accountability groups like i would pair
48:17 at the very beginning i found like my my
48:19 business partner now his name is sergio
48:21 but at the very beginning we would meet
48:25 to hold ourselves accountable to doing
48:27 the actions the following week
48:29 it's like hey by next week we're both
48:31 going to have linkedin prospecting setup
48:34 and then what would happen is we would
48:37 meet every week and we couldn't
48:38 disappoint each other
48:40 so we would be we'd be much more likely
48:42 to actually follow through and do it
48:45 things like that absolutely
48:48 yeah and i i used to do affirmations in
48:51 the morning and i would
48:52 write it down so those of you that may
48:54 know me from a couple years ago
48:56 i started off in the dental space i was
48:58 like you know what i'm sort of dental
48:59 agency i came from healthcare let me go
49:02 do this so i would in my affirmations in
49:04 the morning i would write down
49:05 i'm going to be the best best marketer
49:07 on the planet for dental practices
49:10 and i literally wrote that my wife still
49:13 i have over 180 days of that straight
49:16 every single day the amount of power
49:20 that does to your mind is
49:21 crazy like if i went back in time my
49:24 content is around dental practices
49:26 focused every freaking day anything i
49:30 even regular posts your con like
49:32 anything you even talk about
49:34 i found myself even when i went to like
49:36 family events and my cousins are asking
49:38 me hey what are you up
49:39 to i tell them hey i grow dental
49:41 practices and i'm like oh snap like i
49:43 actually just said that
49:44 and it's like ingrained in my mind
49:47 that's pretty powerful
49:49 you're like committing it to it in the
49:52 yeah uh that's really interesting
49:55 whenever you get a chance to write
49:57 you can write your go like if you have a
50:00 write your goals like on my whiteboard
50:03 back here you guys can't see it i have
50:05 uh if i ever go to the beach i write my
50:10 writing has a lot of power in what it
50:13 maybe it's like juju but hey i've hit my
50:16 so i'm not judging it if it works
50:20 let's go to the next slide what do you
50:21 got next guys there's so much mindset
50:23 stuff i could touch on
50:24 those are like the most important and i
50:27 want to wrap up with one last one
50:29 and then i want to give you guys the 10k
50:31 to-do list to show you how simple this
50:33 really is once you've mastered
50:35 yourself which is the hardest part to
50:39 so the last thing i want to talk about
50:41 is the rocket ship analogy
50:43 elon musk says that getting the rocket
50:45 ship off the ground
50:47 is exponentially harder than getting it
50:49 out into the atmosphere
50:52 and then once it's in space it goes by
50:54 itself it has momentum
50:56 so at the very beginning you have to
51:00 really commit and go all in
51:03 and lean into action and do whatever it
51:06 takes to get the rocket off the ground
51:08 and know that it's going to require more
51:10 energy more effort more focus
51:13 than any other stage in the business
51:17 and you have to really treat getting to
51:19 10k like building a rocket ship and
51:21 getting it from zero to 10 feet off the
51:24 that's your goal once it's off the
51:26 ground it's gonna be easier to get it to
51:28 100 feet a thousand feet
51:29 a million feet off the ground
51:33 and uh with that in mind let's
51:36 dive into the 10k to-do list i want to
51:38 show you guys how simple this is
51:41 once you've mastered your my your
51:43 yourself as an entrepreneur
51:45 it really boils down to practicing the
51:48 skills of sales and marketing
51:50 and following this extremely simple
51:53 to-do list it's not complex
51:55 this is how we scale the brand new
51:58 in 60 days it's just this there's no
52:03 there's no different ad that i'm hiding
52:05 from you guys it's just this to-do list
52:07 so here's how you get to 10k
52:11 i'm going to give you guys a to-do list
52:12 that we're going to cover over the next
52:14 you pick a niche you scrape a list
52:19 of your niche so you get all the emails
52:21 and phone numbers so for example
52:24 if i go to yellowpages.com
52:28 let me show you guys
52:32 and now we're to look up chiropractor
52:36 i would want all the names and phone all
52:39 the emails and phone numbers of
52:40 every single chiropractor ever that's
52:46 after that we want to create what i like
52:50 yes offer so in other words
52:53 you want to create a proposition for
52:57 the business that's easy to say yes to
52:58 you wanna give them a proposal that's
53:00 very easy to say yes let's do it
53:04 once we've created an easy yes offer
53:09 we're gonna set up one free and one paid
53:11 prospecting channel to promote that
53:15 then we're going to take them through a
53:16 two-step sales process
53:19 and then we're going to get them great
53:23 then we rinse and repeat whoops that's
53:28 how you get the 10k
53:28 guys it's really really really really
53:32 everyone's going to want to over
53:33 complicate it you guys are not going to
53:36 you're thinking there's some stuff
53:37 missing it's really this stupid simple
53:41 again the hard part is the character and
53:44 the skills required to execute on this
53:46 extremely simple plan
53:49 we have to keep in mind guys we're not
53:53 we're not build you know to go off of
53:55 the elon musk we're not actually
53:57 building a rocket we're building a
53:58 marketing agency which is
54:00 someone pays you money you do this
54:02 marketing thing for them it's a very
54:04 easy business model
54:07 so it's not complex what's complex is
54:15 but once we've mastered that
54:19 all we have to do is steps one through
54:22 then we rinse and repeat a few times and
54:26 and uh i know we're out of time but over
54:28 the next nine days we're gonna
54:30 execute on this to-do list together
54:34 and that's pretty much it for day one
54:35 you know there's a lot more mindset
54:36 stuff that i could go into
54:38 but to really boil it down get out of
54:42 take more action don't be afraid to fail
54:45 or face rejection because that's the
54:48 only way you're gonna get better
54:50 and uh execute on the to-do list that's
54:55 a quick question joel that to-do list
54:57 can we call it homework
54:59 instead of to-do lists because i want
55:01 them to actually make those decisions by
55:04 uh we're going to have to i i want to
55:07 cover the how to pick an itch before we
55:08 pick an edge got it got it got it okay
55:10 we can make that tomorrow somewhere like
55:11 i say for tonight guys what i want you
55:16 is to create that contract with yourself
55:19 saying hey i'm going to commit i'm going
55:22 and i'm going to take action for the
55:27 without switching without questioning it
55:32 without changing things up
55:35 i want you to actually write that out i
55:37 want you to print it out and i want you
55:38 to sign it and i want to see it tomorrow
55:41 i want to see a piece of paper it
55:43 doesn't have to be fancy you guys can
55:45 type three sentences on a piece of paper
55:47 print it and sign it you don't have to
55:48 actually get it done by an attorney
55:51 just put a few sentences on there saying
55:53 you're going to commit to your business
55:54 for the next six months without
55:56 letting your brain get in your way sign
55:59 bring it tomorrow if you want to
56:01 freaking write it out on a piece of
56:03 that way you don't even have to type and
56:04 print it just write out a few sentences
56:07 and uh besides that the only other
56:12 piece of homework that i would give you
56:15 i want somewhere in your room
56:19 i want to see this somewhere in your
56:23 you should be seeing this every day
56:28 is it getting us closer to a sale if uh
56:32 if yes continue if not stop and ask
56:37 that's it for homework hey remember guys
56:40 this is a workshop right this is not a
56:42 random challenge this is not a random
56:45 course this is what i wanted for you
56:47 guys to actually interactively taking
56:50 part in building your businesses
56:52 together there's about 60 70 of you in
56:54 here i think every single day
56:56 we're going to get somewhere between 60
56:57 to 100. i promise you those that stick
57:02 will have a client before or at least
57:06 flooding their calendars by end of
57:09 december worst case scenario in my
57:12 i know this for a fact because i've
57:15 scaled agencies before
57:16 and this is the same formula that works
57:20 tomorrow before we get started i'm going
57:22 to ask everybody to hold up their
57:25 contracts i want to see it i really do
57:28 i do know the the power
57:31 that comes from you writing this down to
57:34 all right so tomorrow don't forget to
57:38 if you don't bring it i'm going to ask
57:40 you to just watch the replay that's what
57:43 contract and uh just have somewhere in
57:45 your room the reminder to focus on
57:48 closing appointments that's the best
57:49 thing that i could do for you guys
57:51 again the hardest part of my job as a
57:52 coach is not to give you guys the
57:55 it's to get you guys to take action on
57:57 those scripts and believe in yourself to
58:00 uh paulson do we can we stay on for like
58:02 10 more minutes with everyone or
58:04 do you have to go so i have so believe
58:07 it or not i had my time blocked from
58:09 2 pm to 3 30. so i have we have an hour
58:12 and a half just so you know
58:14 i do have to be home i have to leave in
58:17 because i have to uh go somewhere but i
58:20 want to hear some takeaways yeah
58:22 from people here uh in the in the zoom
58:26 yeah if you have questions around the
58:27 mindset thing right
58:29 put that in the chat or unmute yourself
58:31 feel free to unmute yourself
58:33 and ask your questions guys
58:38 we'll we'll do a hard cut off in 15
58:40 minutes how about that joel
58:42 that's perfect okay hey joel
58:45 okay okay yep cool my name's casey
58:48 i wanna thank you so much for all the
58:52 thanks guys um so i wanna say that this
58:55 session has been phenomenal because like
58:57 how many times have i been like i'm
58:59 gonna focus on the best website for like
59:02 but no clients and i think for the first
59:06 my husband and i we actually own our own
59:08 agency together this past
59:10 month we've been doing this camp for the
59:14 we've literally been doing everything
59:16 that you're talking about and on friday
59:18 just closed our first client and it was
59:21 thanks yeah it was like confirmation as
59:23 to everything you're saying
59:25 works it's like we have not moved niches
59:28 we've been in the same niche for two
59:30 months we're in real estate
59:31 uh we got onto a high level we followed
59:33 the systems we just like
59:35 like really understood that it's all
59:37 about the processes
59:38 and that we can't psych ourselves out of
59:40 this so i just you know wanted to just
59:41 say that i'm really grateful
59:43 for your contribution for what we've
59:44 created and i think that this is so
59:46 powerful um even if we're getting
59:49 results to come and tune in and plug
59:51 ourselves in and just hear this like
59:52 our brain just like it's a confirmation
59:56 so i really appreciate that thank you so
59:57 much for sharing can you actually talk a
01:00:00 little bit about that
01:00:01 because you said you've been uh focusing
01:00:03 on setting closing appointments for a
01:00:04 few weeks how did you
01:00:05 deal with the fact that you didn't close
01:00:09 first few weeks like how did you trust
01:00:12 long enough to actually get your first
01:00:14 client yeah totally
01:00:16 um i think what you said in the
01:00:17 beginning about if you've been
01:00:19 in a client facing role before it does
01:00:22 make things a little bit easier so to
01:00:24 speak because you've dealt with people
01:00:26 you dealt with rejections
01:00:27 and i've been in like not direct sales
01:00:29 but communicating with people for a long
01:00:32 kind of relate and understand um so
01:00:35 for us like we're big believers in the
01:00:38 one percent rule
01:00:39 so one percent a day no matter what
01:00:42 we connected with one person we got a no
01:00:45 cam's first like sales call the guy like
01:00:48 i think it's just like one of those
01:00:50 things that what but the thing is we
01:00:52 took the positive from that we're like
01:00:53 well you actually got on phone with
01:00:55 you had a conversation you told them the
01:00:57 price you got that far
01:00:58 and then they hung up oh well you know
01:01:01 we'll deal with it and we
01:01:02 obviously we're sad and all that stuff
01:01:04 and the emotions but it's like
01:01:06 we just kept going and then it was like
01:01:10 my bullet journal that i use and every
01:01:13 is i'll like put the day and then i'll
01:01:16 put my calls for the day
01:01:17 and and the things i need to do like the
01:01:19 top three things and i'll just like
01:01:21 cross them out and that like really
01:01:23 helps my brain feel like i'm
01:01:25 actually producing like even the tiniest
01:01:28 results even though i haven't been
01:01:30 closing clients it's okay
01:01:32 i'm getting better and i love that you
01:01:35 is it getting us closer to a sale or not
01:01:37 because for many years we
01:01:39 you know ran businesses and did all that
01:01:42 but it didn't actually like pan out
01:01:43 which is why we're here now
01:01:45 the other night it's funny we were just
01:01:47 before bed we were like
01:01:48 looking back at the last four years
01:01:50 we've been together and we're like
01:01:52 how many businesses have we started how
01:01:54 many ideas have we come up with and we
01:01:56 were like oh that and that and that was
01:01:58 17 in total and now it's like wow
01:02:01 it's literally like the e-commerce store
01:02:03 or this and it's just like
01:02:05 one of those things like we're at this
01:02:06 point in our lives where we've been
01:02:08 through that stuff
01:02:09 and it's like let's just focus and go
01:02:12 what what's the worst that could happen
01:02:13 if we commit to this for six months or a
01:02:16 and it really should be like three years
01:02:19 so like you know it's just um it's just
01:02:23 and focusing and getting that we're
01:02:25 getting better every day i love it
01:02:27 really all it is and then the next
01:02:29 client is gonna be
01:02:31 easier to get and the next client and
01:02:33 then now you have social proof
01:02:34 and then now you've got referrals you
01:02:36 know how i talk about this all the time
01:02:38 you know how they say you need money to
01:02:42 which is so true like if you have 10
01:02:43 million dollars and you put it even into
01:02:45 a whole life insurance policy that grows
01:02:47 at five percent guaranteed
01:02:48 you're making what five hundred thousand
01:02:53 guaranteed like that's insane you need
01:02:55 money to make money it's the same thing
01:02:56 with clients you need clients to get
01:03:00 clients yeah if you have 50 clients
01:03:03 you have social proof and now you do a
01:03:04 referral program giveaway
01:03:07 and you do a video testimonial giveaway
01:03:10 now you've got enough
01:03:11 video creatives to run as ads to get
01:03:13 more clients for the next year like
01:03:15 it's easier it gets easier and easier
01:03:19 i love it thank you so much for sharing
01:03:21 that was really really helpful
01:03:22 yeah you're welcome something i really
01:03:24 want to touch on real quick i think it's
01:03:26 really important and i skipped over it
01:03:28 because we just we're running out of
01:03:31 i was just inspired to share this when i
01:03:34 say setting close appointments guys
01:03:36 i absolutely do not mean don't care for
01:03:42 it's not one or the other you you can
01:03:46 the problem is most of you guys are so
01:03:49 focused on one end of the spectrum and
01:03:51 you forget to take care of yourself
01:03:53 first and i like to talk about the
01:03:57 the and i think we talked about it last
01:03:59 time we spoke paulson but the analogy of
01:04:01 being on an airplane they ask you to put
01:04:03 the mask on yourself
01:04:04 first before you put it on even your
01:04:09 and the problem is you guys are putting
01:04:12 on your clients and you're running out
01:04:18 and if you really cared about the health
01:04:20 and the well-being of your clients you
01:04:21 would put the mask
01:04:22 on yourself first and
01:04:26 the problem is let's say that here's a
01:04:28 spectrum and you guys are this is
01:04:29 really focusing on clients is really
01:04:33 i just want you to meet in the middle
01:04:34 but you guys are here
01:04:38 and i have to go to this extreme to meet
01:04:41 you in the middle
01:04:43 and one more thing i really want to talk
01:04:47 because once you get your first client
01:04:49 what tends to happen
01:04:50 is everyone starts to focus all their
01:04:52 energy into that one client
01:04:55 thinking that if they just get them the
01:04:56 best results in the world that's going
01:04:58 to solve their business but
01:05:00 you have to keep doing what worked to
01:05:03 get you to that one client which is
01:05:04 focusing on setting closing appointments
01:05:07 and i call this the one client illusion
01:05:09 where instead of asking yourself
01:05:11 how do i get to 10 clients you start
01:05:14 how do i get my one client the best
01:05:16 results in the world
01:05:18 the problem is that you actually if you
01:05:20 actually want to get the best
01:05:22 results possible you actually need
01:05:24 volume you need a lot of clients
01:05:26 because that's going to give you a few
01:05:28 things resources
01:05:30 it's going to give you finances it's
01:05:32 going to give you the ability to hire
01:05:34 people so that you have your time back
01:05:36 on the product it's going to give you
01:05:38 actual data and feedback
01:05:40 and now you're actually going to be able
01:05:42 to build the best product
01:05:44 in the world so for example if
01:05:47 if high level the software only had one
01:05:51 they couldn't build the best software
01:05:54 because their data would be so limited
01:05:57 they would not know what people actually
01:05:59 want what they don't want they would be
01:06:00 building one product for one person
01:06:03 not for agency owners and marketers as a
01:06:08 so i just wanted to touch on that guys
01:06:10 when i say setting close appointments
01:06:12 all i'm really asking you is to meet me
01:06:13 in the middle but you guys need to go to
01:06:15 an extreme to make that happen
01:06:16 or most of you guys do and then when you
01:06:19 get the one client
01:06:21 don't start thinking that you need to
01:06:24 give them the whole world
01:06:25 and that's what's going to get you to 10
01:06:27 clients you got to keep
01:06:29 the eye on the prize and know that in
01:06:32 getting more clients is going to allow
01:06:34 you to get them better results
01:06:37 i'll give you sorry paul and i'm just
01:06:40 you got excited you're good bro there's
01:06:42 an illusion out there
01:06:44 that the best service and the best
01:06:47 product is going to bring the next
01:06:49 client that's an illusion in the
01:06:52 no agency today have kept their first
01:06:59 not a single agency today have kept
01:07:01 their first client if you if you've been
01:07:03 in the game at least for example
01:07:04 george george is the outlier except for
01:07:06 george come on george
01:07:08 we're not all like you brother except
01:07:12 nobody has just it nobody's kept their
01:07:16 but i promise you i've spent the most
01:07:18 amount of time with my first couple of
01:07:20 clients trying to figure everything out
01:07:23 build their entire business i wouldn't
01:07:26 just do marketing i would literally
01:07:28 entire business and they still cancel
01:07:35 yeah you know it's it's fascinating
01:07:38 having more clients is the same like if
01:07:41 you have clients easier to get more
01:07:43 same thing with results if you have more
01:07:47 clients it's easier to get your clients
01:07:49 you can see what's working for the best
01:07:51 people you can see the difference
01:07:53 between the best people and the worst
01:07:55 you can test things much more quickly
01:07:59 it really gives you a lot more resources
01:08:01 to create the best
01:08:03 possible product or service but most of
01:08:06 you guys don't ever escape
01:08:08 that initial point of being able to get
01:08:12 enough volume to get them the best
01:08:14 results which is kind of
01:08:16 extremely counterintuitive because all
01:08:18 you're trying to do is get them the best
01:08:22 so just get more clients guys i promise
01:08:24 everything will work out that's all i'm
01:08:27 uh let's see who else had a takeaway
01:08:29 they want to share
01:08:35 well i can just say that i'm also very
01:08:38 appreciative like casey to pick off
01:08:40 piggyback off that and i really like the
01:08:42 point about sending someone money to
01:08:44 hold yourself accountable but
01:08:45 on top of that i had a question which
01:08:47 would be other than that
01:08:48 do you have any recommendations like
01:08:52 buddy or any other types of habits that
01:08:55 kind of what propels you forward when
01:08:58 you don't feel like
01:08:59 you know like one thing is f motivation
01:09:02 it's all about discipline right so what
01:09:04 disciplines ah that's a good uh
01:09:08 really good question i like to focus on
01:09:11 first sleep food and exercise
01:09:15 like if you if you're on three hours of
01:09:19 i don't care how motivated you are
01:09:21 you're not going to get good work done
01:09:22 you know and anyone that tells you
01:09:24 otherwise is lying to you or you're just
01:09:26 talking to david goggins but that guy is
01:09:28 genetically gifted
01:09:29 you know like even he sleeps you know
01:09:34 well you have to uh learn the difference
01:09:37 between effective versus optimal what's
01:09:39 effective for one person doesn't mean
01:09:40 it's optimal for most
01:09:42 like for example i need at least eight
01:09:46 i have never had a good productive day
01:09:48 on less than eight hours of sleep
01:09:51 and uh so i still do the you guys still
01:09:54 do the push-up contest
01:09:55 in your agency in the slack channels
01:09:57 like what was that like we do it every
01:09:59 once in a while right now they're doing
01:10:00 like the sit-up challenge
01:10:02 i'll show you guys we did something
01:10:04 similar everybody in the team has to
01:10:07 that they did something physical that
01:10:08 day like jumping jacks push-ups
01:10:11 50 push-up challenge it just keeps
01:10:14 this guy's doing sit-ups
01:10:20 but uh it just i would say uh
01:10:23 besides the big three george
01:10:26 in terms of motivation and getting stuff
01:10:30 i'll give you two really good ones and
01:10:33 then i'm going to give you a final take
01:10:35 get a hobby that's one really good one
01:10:40 because what happens is all of us like
01:10:42 go all in on the business and we forget
01:10:45 and then we'd burn out i'm not telling
01:10:48 you to go get a hobby where you're away
01:10:50 for 20 hours a week i'm saying even just
01:10:51 one hour a week go do something that you
01:10:53 like doing that's not business
01:10:54 and doing youtube videos is not a hobby
01:10:58 going to the gym is also not a hobby
01:11:01 everyone's like oh i go to the gym
01:11:02 that's my hobby i'm like no that's just
01:11:04 you can't count that as your hobby and
01:11:06 reading doesn't count either that's just
01:11:08 absorption yeah that's a really good
01:11:11 that's a really good one i would also
01:11:14 another really good piece of advice
01:11:16 entrepreneurship is a lonely
01:11:18 road if you want to stay consistent and
01:11:19 build dedication
01:11:21 create support systems
01:11:24 either build like for example
01:11:28 something that we do in the agency and
01:11:30 in my consulting business
01:11:31 every day is we practice practice sales
01:11:34 every single day i guarantee
01:11:38 90 or more of you guys are not
01:11:42 and imagine if you had
01:11:45 a group of five people even better if it
01:11:47 was in your niche
01:11:49 you guys are meeting every single day
01:11:51 you're going to hold yourselves
01:11:52 accountable you're going to put yourself
01:11:54 a state of wanting to grow together
01:11:55 wanting to support each other wanting to
01:11:59 i'd say that's the biggest thing like
01:12:03 i'm around other entrepreneurs like even
01:12:06 me and paulson were talking about last
01:12:07 night i got pretty fired up
01:12:11 so um just surrounding yourself with
01:12:14 other people and now here's my takeaway
01:12:18 again this is not what most coaches
01:12:19 would tell you but i'm here to tell you
01:12:20 what you need to hear not what you want
01:12:22 you got to find what works for you i'm
01:12:25 not here to give you the magic formula
01:12:27 like i can say hey here's some ideas to
01:12:30 ultimately everyone's form of self-care
01:12:32 and everyone's form of building good
01:12:34 habits and motivating themselves
01:12:36 is dependent on them and the best thing
01:12:38 that i could tell you is
01:12:40 try a few things and start to figure out
01:12:42 what works for you
01:12:47 100 guys joel if you got to jump off
01:12:50 go ahead and jump off if you need to i
01:12:52 can finish up i'm going to stay on until
01:12:54 3 30 guys which is uh
01:12:56 10 minutes and we could do we could do
01:12:57 the last 10 minutes okay okay cool
01:12:59 cool any any questions on specifically
01:13:02 the mindset component
01:13:04 today right i want us to stay in context
01:13:07 session right any questions
01:13:12 you had something oh go ahead who is
01:13:14 that uh hi my name is babak so
01:13:16 hi joel hi paul hey hey how's that how
01:13:18 are you guys doing
01:13:19 you sound so european are you are you in
01:13:21 a different time zone
01:13:23 uh well i'm actually in the french part
01:13:26 canada so french part of your eastern
01:13:29 standard time you're you're close by
01:13:31 yeah that's right
01:13:33 i have one quick question joel so one of
01:13:35 my friends is actually in a seven figure
01:13:37 agency he joined it a couple months ago
01:13:40 and it was awesome seeing him go from 2k
01:13:42 per month to 20k per month
01:13:44 uh just after two to three months and
01:13:45 one thing he mentioned to me
01:13:47 is that he learned that mindset is
01:13:49 everything especially when it comes to
01:13:51 you know investing in yourself and
01:13:53 investing in the business
01:13:55 so one question i just wanted to ask is
01:13:58 you know i see a lot of people they talk
01:14:01 you know you got to have an abundance
01:14:03 when it comes to
01:14:04 money and you got to not care about you
01:14:07 know getting money and you got to care
01:14:09 other things right if you if you
01:14:10 actually want to get money so i just
01:14:11 want to know what's your thoughts
01:14:13 on that what's the right you know
01:14:14 abundance wealth mindset that these guys
01:14:16 are talking about
01:14:18 um that's a fantastic question
01:14:22 in terms of abundance you mean like not
01:14:25 focusing on making money and that it'll
01:14:26 come to you was that what you meant
01:14:28 well uh kind of in the sense that you
01:14:30 know i see a lot of people
01:14:32 say that you know every everything that
01:14:35 uh you should just think that money
01:14:37 comes to you easily you know
01:14:39 and then i have other people that say
01:14:40 you know it's like you got to just
01:14:42 save and invest it all and not spend it
01:14:45 and just put it in yourself again
01:14:48 probably not what you
01:14:50 want to hear but i'm going to tell you
01:14:51 what you need to hear you got to find
01:14:52 what works for you
01:14:54 for example with me when i quit my nine
01:14:56 to five i had a lot of money saved up
01:14:58 that's just what i needed to feel secure
01:15:02 on the flip side my business partner had
01:15:06 and that created really good urgency for
01:15:09 him to take action
01:15:10 he he thrives in that environment you
01:15:12 have to figure out what works for you
01:15:14 you have to figure out uh in terms of
01:15:17 wealth and how you want to protect it
01:15:18 how you want to invest it
01:15:19 as long as you're following solid
01:15:23 across the board you have to figure out
01:15:25 what's aligned with who you are and how
01:15:27 you think and how you approach things
01:15:29 for example if you're a hundred thousand
01:15:31 dollars in debt i'm going to give you
01:15:32 different advice versus
01:15:34 if you're already 30k saved up in the
01:15:36 bank and you're 18 years old
01:15:40 if you have kids in a family and a
01:15:43 very different advice versus someone
01:15:46 that's in college
01:15:47 and they don't have anything to lose
01:15:52 so i would say uh with that in mind
01:15:55 just to touch on the whole like oh if
01:15:59 you don't have to think about money i
01:16:00 think at the very beginning especially
01:16:03 bad relationship with money which i
01:16:05 think a lot of us do
01:16:07 uh like for example there's other
01:16:09 entrepreneurs that say oh just build a
01:16:11 good product money will come
01:16:13 i think in the very first business we
01:16:15 have to be honest with ourselves and ask
01:16:17 ourselves why we're starting it
01:16:19 most of us don't start marketing
01:16:21 agencies because we're passionate about
01:16:25 how many of you guys started the
01:16:26 marketing agency because you
01:16:28 love marketing or maybe you love your
01:16:30 niche like plumbers or roofers
01:16:32 how many of you guys
01:16:37 okay so i hated my job at the time so
01:16:40 bad that's why i quit and came home
01:16:42 and started an agency yeah like
01:16:45 i actually grew to love chiropractors
01:16:49 uh like i had i didn't really know much
01:16:51 about the niche like it's not like i was
01:16:53 passionate about it and the goal of the
01:16:56 make money and fuel my other dreams
01:17:00 and that's okay too
01:17:03 you know like there's there's nothing
01:17:05 wrong with that at all it's just about
01:17:09 why you're doing it and being honest
01:17:11 with yourself about it
01:17:12 and working from a place of truth
01:17:18 right yeah that makes a lot of sense i
01:17:20 know i'm kind of just ranting but those
01:17:21 are just random thoughts like
01:17:23 i also find it funny that all the people
01:17:25 that say don't focus on making money
01:17:27 focused on making money at first like
01:17:30 maybe the better answer is that each
01:17:32 business has its time and place
01:17:38 and right now maybe what you just need
01:17:39 is a business that produces money
01:17:42 and that's okay too there's no judgment
01:17:45 as long as you care for your clients and
01:17:47 deliver a good result
01:17:48 and provide and you know deliver on your
01:17:50 promises obviously
01:17:52 here's here's another thing i want to
01:17:53 add on to it before i forget joel if
01:17:55 that's okay with you
01:17:56 yeah back your your relationship with
01:18:00 money will show when you have to close
01:18:04 clients when you get there
01:18:07 at closing your relationship with money
01:18:11 whether you can close a client or not
01:18:14 it's important that you get your mindset
01:18:17 early on in day one so when you get to
01:18:20 set appointments and closing
01:18:22 when you get to that closing
01:18:24 appointments phase right there
01:18:26 your relationship with money will show
01:18:30 right yeah that makes a lot of sense
01:18:35 yeah i do i do actually really believe
01:18:38 in mindset i used to think it was like a
01:18:40 of fluff i know you talked about that at
01:18:41 the very beginning but then i started to
01:18:43 realize all the people making money have
01:18:47 because you really have to level up as a
01:18:49 human being like you have to become a
01:18:51 you have to become someone that can
01:18:56 every single day you have to become
01:18:58 someone that can
01:19:00 take everything that you do and transfer
01:19:02 it to other people and then get them to
01:19:04 believe in themselves there's just so
01:19:05 much that needs to happen in who you are
01:19:07 as a human being
01:19:09 to level up and uh if you don't do it
01:19:12 it's going to be really really really
01:19:14 hard to scale like for example
01:19:17 elon musk this guy is kind of crazy but
01:19:21 his mindset he believes in something
01:19:23 that doesn't exist
01:19:24 yet in reality so much so to the point
01:19:27 that he gets other people to believe in
01:19:29 to the point where those people are then
01:19:31 leading other people
01:19:32 and it starts to happen with or without
01:19:36 he gets every bank in the planet to
01:19:38 believe in his theories as well
01:19:40 on top of that and organizations and
01:19:45 and governments i mean imagine the
01:19:47 mindset if you've got to
01:19:48 convince the us government on your idea
01:19:51 like your mindset has to be you have to
01:19:54 so committed to your vision for the
01:19:58 the the possibility of failure and the
01:20:02 or actually the certainty of failure
01:20:04 along the way and the certainty of
01:20:07 and you have to have the audacity to go
01:20:09 out and solve such a big
01:20:11 problem that most of us will never have
01:20:13 the audacity audacity to actually go out
01:20:15 try to solve and it's whether he likes
01:20:18 it or not it's all mindset now
01:20:20 maybe he was born with it maybe his life
01:20:23 circumstances helped him level up
01:20:25 and deal with the world maybe it's
01:20:28 i will say this if your mindset is not
01:20:30 there you can definitely work
01:20:32 on it just like going to the gym some
01:20:34 people are born with
01:20:35 amazing genetics and they just show up
01:20:37 to the gym once and they're muscular
01:20:39 my business partner sergio i guarantee
01:20:41 you he's not on drugs and he looks like
01:20:44 like it's just it's just he's
01:20:47 cousins with a hall of famer baseball
01:20:50 player top five in the whole world
01:20:52 in history of course he looks jacked
01:20:56 doesn't mean that uh that's going to be
01:20:58 the same thing for you and you might
01:21:00 need to go to the gym and work on it
01:21:02 same with mindset elon musk might wake
01:21:04 up every single day and have a mindset
01:21:06 to change the world
01:21:08 if we don't that's okay that just means
01:21:09 that we're gonna have to work at it
01:21:11 so hey david i think so david sent me a
01:21:16 he goes olsen can you elaborate on
01:21:20 how your relationship with money will
01:21:22 show up when closing your client
01:21:24 examples so david what i'm saying is
01:21:27 if you're going to convince a client to
01:21:31 a month to you and you've never ever
01:21:34 invested into a program or invested into
01:21:37 at 2 000 a month your mind
01:21:40 will kick in and start convincing you
01:21:43 that you cannot deliver for them
01:21:45 because this you've never been there
01:21:46 before right and that's what i mean by
01:21:49 joel can you elaborate on
01:21:52 getting those you know thoughts out of
01:21:57 when it comes to fulfillment and
01:21:59 delivering and all of that especially
01:22:01 when you're closing a client
01:22:04 yeah if you're just starting out you've
01:22:05 never closed a client in your life i
01:22:08 uh having some support systems in place
01:22:11 to give you that confidence
01:22:13 so for example i know we're talking a
01:22:15 lot about elon musk when he built his
01:22:18 it wasn't just him he had a team of
01:22:19 engineers that he could trust and rely
01:22:21 on to give him the confidence to launch
