00:00here's what i made my first year on
00:03here's what i made my third year on
00:06and here's what i made my sixth year on
00:09discovering how to make money on youtube
00:13transformed my life but it's not just me
00:16i've been able to help hundreds of
00:19make money online using youtube and many
00:22of them without ever
00:23showing their face and i'm gonna show
00:25you exactly how they do it
00:28in this video for absolutely free right
00:31step number one set your channel up for
00:35your channel needs to have a solid
00:36foundation and we make sure it does by
00:39easy six step checklist one
00:42choose the right niche the thing most
00:45people wonder about when it comes to
00:47is what should my channel be about and
00:49here's where most people go wrong
00:51they try to find the perfect topic that
00:54they soul search for their passion all
00:56the while they could have been laying
00:58the foundation to potentially make
01:00money on youtube so here's what to do
01:02instead start a channel in a niche that
01:04you want to learn about
01:05or start a channel in something that you
01:08in and another thing to think about is
01:10what topic do you always bring up to
01:12your friends and family
01:14if you literally can't think of anything
01:16then here are a bunch of profitable
01:18animals business cars celebrities food
01:22gaming health history life hacks
01:25luxury psychology scary stories science
01:29sports technology and travel and keep
01:32watching because i'm going to reveal
01:34and example channels in each of these
01:37do market research the next step is to
01:40make sure there's actually people who
01:42want to watch videos
01:43in the niche that you've chosen and this
01:45is super simple go to youtube
01:47search your niche make sure that videos
01:49come up with at least
01:50100 000 views and if there is then
01:53you're gonna be good
01:54three choose a name when it comes to
01:56youtube channel names you'd be surprised
01:58at how little they actually matter
02:00for example dream is a channel that
02:04viralb is a dog channel and top 15s is a
02:07channel that makes scary videos
02:09all of these channels could be about
02:11different things just based off their
02:13name the thing that defines these
02:15is not their name but it's what they do
02:17so don't overthink it you don't have to
02:19come up with some perfect channel name
02:22on youtube four start your channel if
02:24you're watching this video you probably
02:26already have a google account
02:27but if not just make one super simple
02:30and you can make as many channels as you
02:32under a single google account for
02:34example i run nine different youtube
02:37five optimize the settings i've got a
02:39free video for you that shows you
02:41exactly how to create and optimize your
02:43and all the best settings and i'll leave
02:45a link to that down in the description
02:47six create a logo in channel art again
02:50don't overthink this your logo and
02:52channel art honestly don't matter that
02:54much but make sure that they just look
02:55professional and in all honesty i
02:57usually just hire someone off of fiverr
03:00to create the logo and channel art or if
03:02you want to save money and do it
03:04check out my video that shows you
03:06exactly how to do it using free tools at
03:08the link in the description
03:10all right so now that we got through the
03:11checklist go ahead and give yourself a
03:14nice job now it's time for step number
03:16two which is to find the content
03:18that people need if your goal is to make
03:22youtube then the answer to the question
03:24what should i make videos on
03:25is actually pretty simple in fact you're
03:28probably gonna have too many video ideas
03:30after i show you this method
03:32it's called the searching and surging
03:34technique i use the searching and
03:38on every single channel that i start and
03:40i know exactly what videos to create on
03:42the channel that'll get the most amount
03:46technique we need a list of 33 different
03:49why 33 because that's the average amount
03:51of videos that i've noticed in starting
03:54until one of them starts to get traction
03:56and even if one doesn't
03:58then at that point we're starting to get
04:00enough data so where do we get this list
04:03well this is where the searching and
04:05surging technique comes in
04:07first let's talk about the searching
04:09side of the equation
04:10so we need 17 different video ideas out
04:15that will be based on what people are
04:17searching for now how do you find what
04:19people are searching for
04:20simple we use a tool called vid iq then
04:23go to the keyword research section
04:25simply put in your niche and sort by the
04:28score this will show you the best
04:30keywords that are getting the most
04:33and the least amount of competition and
04:35if you don't want to pay for vid iq
04:37then you can use a free tool that's not
04:39as in-depth like uber suggests
04:41after writing down your 17 different
04:43video ideas from search
04:45now it's time for the surging part of
04:47the searching and surging technique
04:49and this consists of finding surging
04:51videos that are getting a lot of views
04:53and this is super simple go to youtube
04:57and then filter the results by the
04:59videos that are getting the most amount
05:02uploaded in the past month this will
05:05in your niche that are working right now
05:07so write down your remaining 16 video
05:09ideas based off of these popular videos
05:12because if it worked once on youtube
05:14it's very likely to work again
05:16so remember the key to the searching and
05:19is you want fifty percent of your
05:21content strategy going to search
05:23and the remaining 50 targeting already
05:27and if you want even more ways of coming
05:29up with unlimited video ideas for your
05:32then check out this video right here
05:33which will show you some more free tools
05:36to generate thousands of video ideas
05:38fast now that you've got your list of 33
05:41different video ideas
05:42now it's time to go to step number three
05:44generate the content
05:46so now it's time to actually get videos
05:48made now does that mean you have to
05:50actually get in front of a camera and
05:51film videos like i'm doing right here
05:54not necessarily in fact on eight of the
05:56nine different youtube channels that i
05:58i don't even show my face on those
06:00channels and i've been able to get over
06:02a million subscribers on
06:04youtube without ever showing my face
06:08it's something called niche channels i'm
06:10going to show you a bunch of different
06:12examples of niche channels
06:14and the absolute best niches to do this
06:16in later in the video
06:18but for right now just know that niche
06:20channels are channels that simply have a
06:22in the background of the video showing
06:24videos that they didn't even make
06:26i'm sure you've seen videos on youtube
06:27like that such as top 10 videos
06:30fact videos and story videos if you want
06:32to run channels without showing
06:34your face all you need is a cell phone
06:36to record voiceovers
06:37or you can pick up a cheap microphone
06:39like the blue yeti nano
06:40if you want to show your face and be a
06:42personality then again you can simply
06:44use your phone to start recording
06:46videos another option is to get a good
06:48cheap camera like a canon m50
06:51or you can get a panasonic gh5 which is
06:53what i'm recording this video with
06:55right now regardless of what type of
06:56channel that you're gonna run
06:58i recommend writing scripts you can use
07:00google to do research and then google
07:02docs to write your script
07:04and also a bonus tip to make sure that
07:07unique you can use a website called
07:08copyscape now that you've got your video
07:10recorded or your voice over if you're
07:12not going to show your face
07:14now it's time to get your videos made if
07:16you're running a niche channel without
07:18showing your face then i recommend using
07:19these resources you can do slideshows
07:22using google slides or powerpoint in the
07:24you can use free stock footage from
07:26websites like pixabay.com or pexels.com
07:29and if you want even more stock clips
07:31then you can consider using a paid
07:32service like storyblocks and you can
07:36other people's videos from youtube and
07:38do a voiceover on top of those videos
07:40but make sure that you're following the
07:41guidelines of fair use
07:43now no matter what type of channel that
07:45you're running your videos need to be
07:47edited and no you don't have to spend
07:48hundreds of dollars on some expensive
07:51instead you can use a completely free
07:53editor like open shot
07:54also never pay for music for your videos
07:57instead use the youtube audio library
08:00tons of free music that you can use
08:02that's not copyrighted
08:04step number four upload and optimize you
08:07got your first 33 videos done
08:08congratulations now it's time to
08:10actually upload them to
08:12youtube and we need to make sure that we
08:13optimize the videos to make sure that
08:15we're not just wasting our time
08:17and to make sure that they get views so
08:20should you upload you need a content
08:24this is simply a calendar which says how
08:26often you upload to your channel
08:28and the most important thing about this
08:30schedule is that it's consistent
08:32always make your schedule less than your
08:35output that means for example if you can
08:38make two videos a day then
08:40upload only one video a day on your
08:42channel if you can make say
08:44five videos a week then only upload
08:46three videos a week on your channel and
08:48if you can make two or three videos a
08:50then just upload once a week the key is
08:53to be building a backlog
08:54of videos so you're producing more than
08:58when it comes to actually posting you
09:00can upload all of your videos to youtube
09:02and then use youtube's built-in
09:04scheduling tool to have them be released
09:06on your set schedule the second part of
09:09is making sure that your videos are
09:12i recommend vid iq to find the best
09:14keywords to use in your title
09:16description and tags or if you want a
09:18free option then you can use a chrome
09:20plugin called socialblade
09:22to see what tags that your competitors
09:24are using and then reuse those keywords
09:27description and title now that you have
09:29your videos uploaded on youtube
09:31it's time for step number five getting
09:34traffic there's so many different ways
09:36to get traffic to your youtube videos
09:39instagram pinterest forums email google
09:43blogs youtube itself but here's what i
09:46choose just one traffic source and go
09:50it my personal favorite method is by
09:52using youtube itself to give you all of
09:54the traffic that you could ever
09:55want here's exactly how to do that use
09:58the consecutive content
09:59technique this consists of making series
10:02of videos about similar
10:04things and all the videos across these
10:06series will have similar
10:07keywords this means that you only have
10:09to get a little bit of search traffic
10:12and here's where the consecutive content
10:14technique works its magic
10:16if you do this right your own videos
10:18will start to appear
10:19in the suggested video feed which is
10:21either below your video if you're
10:23watching on mobile or to the right hand
10:25side if you're watching on desktop
10:27your own videos will start to surface in
10:30other ones of your videos so most people
10:33one of your youtube videos will likely
10:36and another and they go in what i like
10:38to call viewer feedback loops
10:40where they watch another one of your
10:42videos from the suggested video feed and
10:45this means that you only need a little
10:47bit of search traffic
10:48to get tons and tons of watch time
10:51because people will go to watch
10:52another and another one of your videos
10:54and watch time is part of what youtube
10:57to determine if they should put your
10:59video in the suggested video feed of
11:01already popular videos and this is how
11:04absolutely blow up on youtube i've had
11:08get over a million views each with this
11:10method and i've had a handful of videos
11:14million views each with this method
11:17and i know this sounds complicated but
11:20all this really means is that all the
11:22videos across your youtube channel
11:24should be about the same thing now if
11:26you want to discover how to use the
11:27consecutive content technique
11:29in depth and how i used it to get a
11:32viral video super quickly
11:34then check out the link in the
11:35description of this video when you're
11:36ready to get traffic to
11:38your channel before we get to step
11:40number six make sure to leave a like on
11:42this video if you feel like you've
11:45step six monetize and make money now
11:48this is my personal favorite step i mean
11:50it's time to make some money
11:51so at this point you're probably asking
11:53matt how do i actually make
11:55money on youtube well you can get
11:58on youtube via something called the
12:00youtube partner program
12:01in which youtube will put ads on your
12:03videos and you'll get paid every single
12:06time someone sees an
12:07ad on your videos you need two things to
12:111 000 subscribers and 4 000 hours of
12:13watch time now you might be saying
12:15that's going to take so long to get i
12:17mean 4 000 hours of watch time that's
12:19240 000 minutes but it can actually
12:23quicker than you probably think i aim to
12:25be monetized on new channels that i
12:27start in around one to two months
12:29and i'll link some videos down in the
12:30description on exactly how you can get
12:32monetized as fast as possible
12:34there's three main ways to make money on
12:38one is with youtube ads in the youtube
12:41two is via affiliate marketing and three
12:44is with digital products
12:45let's start with number one which is
12:47youtube ads once you've done everything
12:49correctly you should be monetized
12:52so the best way to make as much money as
12:55from youtube ads is to put multiple ad
12:58breaks throughout your video and the
12:59only way that you can do this
13:00is by producing videos that are at least
13:04the best way to do this is to put an ad
13:06at the beginning and the end
13:07and every two minutes throughout the
13:10video that way you'll make the absolute
13:12most amount of money
13:13for example if you have a 10 minute
13:15video that means that you put an ad at
13:16the beginning of the video
13:18at two minutes four minutes six minutes
13:21eight minutes and then an ad at the end
13:24that way you'll have six ads instead of
13:27and you'll make triple the money
13:29monetization method number two
13:31is with affiliate marketing if you to
13:33make more money on youtube and you don't
13:35want to wait to get monetized
13:36with some videos that you produce
13:38depending on your niche and your channel
13:40you can actually put affiliate links in
13:42the descriptions of those videos
13:44and where can you find these affiliate
13:46products i recommend digistore24.com
13:49clickbank and the amazon affiliate
13:51program monetization method number three
13:54is through digital products
13:55my favorite type of digital products are
13:57online courses and don't worry you don't
13:59have to be a guru to sell online courses
14:01you just need to know a little bit more
14:03than somebody else in a given topic
14:05kajabi teachable and udemy are all
14:08options for selling digital products
14:10the great thing about digital products
14:11is that you can make a lot of money per
14:14because there's no fulfillment costs
14:16associated with getting a digital
14:18product the customer buys the product
14:20instantly the bad thing is that it can
14:22take a lot of upfront time to make
14:25if you made it all the way until the end
14:26of the video i actually want to give you
14:29secrets when it comes to doing this
14:31correctly and honestly thanks so much
14:33for watching make sure to leave a like
14:35on this video if you haven't already
14:37secret number one is making thumbnails
14:39so in order to make the
14:41most amount of money doing this it's
14:43imperative that your videos have good
14:44thumbnails now you might be saying matt
14:46how do i make good thumbnails i don't
14:49well you don't need photoshop you can
14:51use a completely free editor called
14:53paint.net if you're on windows or
14:55online softwares like canva or snappa if
14:58most of the top videos on youtube have
15:00either a red circle or a red arrow on
15:03and they have some type of human emotion
15:06so if you can incorporate that
15:07it's gonna help a ton secret number two
15:10and o technique a o stands for analyzing
15:14and optimizing and this is the key to
15:16blowing up your channel
15:17here's how to do it see what's working
15:19on your channel and double down on it
15:21and cut out what's not working
15:23secret number three watch time and
15:26for a 10 minute video you should aim to
15:30audience retention meaning that for an
15:32average person who watches your video
15:34they watch 6 minutes of your video and
15:37the next thing you want to look at
15:38that's super important
15:39is secret number four click-through rate
15:42this is the percentage of people who
15:44your videos after seeing them on places
15:46on youtube like search results or the
15:48suggested video feed
15:49and you want to aim to get at least a
15:51six percent click-through rate
15:53and you can use tools like tubebuddy to
15:55split test thumbnails and get the
15:57absolute highest click-through rate
15:59secret number five scaling and paying
16:02other people to make the videos for you
16:04wanna know how i run nine different
16:06youtube channels here's the secret
16:09i pay other people to make the videos
16:12shh don't tell anyone to do this you
16:14have to put together a video creation
16:16assembly line here's how it works one
16:19you come up with a title idea
16:21two you send that title idea to a script
16:23writer who writes a script for the video
16:25i recommend around 1 800 words to make
16:28sure that your video is 10 minutes long
16:30three the scriptwriter then sends a
16:32script to the voiceover artist who does
16:34a voiceover for the video
16:36four the voiceover artist sends the
16:38finished voiceover to a video editor who
16:41edits together the video
16:42five the thumbnail designer makes a good
16:44thumbnail for the video
16:45and finally six you upload and optimize
16:48the video and you might be wondering
16:49matt where can i find the best people to
16:52i recommend both upwork and fiverr
16:56the best niches and example channels so
16:59now like i promise you i'm gonna be
17:00sharing the best niches that you can do
17:03and a bunch of different example
17:05channels in these niches
17:06so that you have a reference that you
17:08can go to and see actual examples of
17:11doing this let's start with the animal
17:13niche and a great example of a channel
17:16is a channel called animal facts and
17:18they simply produce videos talking about
17:20different facts about animals and
17:22talking about different dog breeds
17:23comparing dog breeds
17:24top 10 lists of dog breeds and they
17:28their face and then we have the business
17:30niche and a great example of a channel
17:32in the business niche is a channel
17:33called business casual
17:35the next niche is the card niche and a
17:37great example of a channel in the card
17:39is a channel called viral vehicles for
17:42the celebrity niche we have a channel
17:44and the next niche is the food niche
17:46producing videos about top 10 lists of
17:48different restaurants and food
17:50we have the channel called babbletop for
17:52the gaming niche we have a channel that
17:54doesn't even play video games themselves
17:56but they compile clips of other people
17:58playing video games they do a voiceover
18:01and this is a channel called top 5
18:03gaming for the health niche we have a
18:05couple channels including the channel
18:07and the channel body hub for the history
18:10niche we have a channel called
18:11unknown 5 and the next niche is the life
18:14hack niche and this consists of
18:16literally just filming your hands doing
18:19you don't even necessarily have to show
18:20your face and a great example of a
18:23this niche is the channel five minute
18:25crafts the next niche is the luxury
18:27niche and we have the channels alux
18:29and mr luxury and next up we have the
18:32psychology niche and
18:34a great example of a channel in the
18:35psychology niche is a channel called
18:38and they simply produce videos compiling
18:40different stock footage into their video
18:42so they don't even have to worry about
18:44copyright or anything like that
18:45and they just do a voiceover on top of
18:48the video talking about different
18:50now scary stories are also a great niche
18:54they don't even require you to show your
18:55face you can just show stock footage in
18:58and a great example channel in the scary
19:00story niche is the channel mr nightmare
19:02now the science niche is also
19:04huge on youtube and for an example
19:06channel in the science niche we have the
19:08channel smart banana
19:10next up is the sports niche and we have
19:12the channel non-stop sports
19:14the next niche is an amazing niche due
19:16to the fact that there's so many
19:17different advertisers in this niche
19:19and the fact that you could potentially
