00:44 believe it or not you've been developing
00:46 all kinds of skills through these tasks

01:15 i always gravitated towards things that

01:24 career i took on so my first job out of
01:27 college was as a spanish and leadership
01:29 teacher in los angeles california
01:32 my main objective in guiding the student
01:34 leadership team at the school was to
01:36 identify mobilize and inspire the
01:40 after two years of teaching i realized
01:42 that the moments when i felt the most
01:44 energized were when i was building a
01:46 vision for how to get a big project done
01:49 or when i was working to bring different
01:52 around a common goal that's when i
01:54 realized i had a lot of core project
01:58 and i could focus on growing and
01:59 developing them in the business world
02:01 i'm grateful that i get to be here for
02:03 the start of your journey when i was
02:05 first starting to think about my career
02:08 project management wasn't even on my
02:11 it was one of those professions that i
02:13 didn't even know existed until i entered
02:16 the business world and experienced how
02:18 great of a need there is for folks who
02:20 are organized action-oriented diligent
02:25 i hope that by the end of this program
02:27 you'll be as excited as i am about the
02:29 prospects of a career in project
02:32 okay let's get into it we'll start with
02:34 an important question
02:36 what exactly is project management
02:39 project management is the application of
02:43 tools and techniques to meet the project
02:46 requirements and achieve the desired
02:49 it's possible that you've been project
02:51 managing every day on some level without
02:55 in this course you'll learn how to hone
