00:00Ludacris: Did the dash in the Rover
00:00like it's Fast & Furious.
00:03She see my number in his phone,
00:05now you actin' curious.
00:08Vin Diesel: What's up? This is Vin Diesel.
00:10Ludacris: And what's going
on? This is Ludacris.
00:12Vin Diesel: We're about
to break down some lyrics
00:14on Between the Lines.
00:18Before we get into the
video, be sure to check out
00:21our new movie, 'F9,' on June 25th.
00:24Hearing our film referenced in music
00:32It's not just the magazines or the outlets
00:38This is going deeper into the heart
00:41of the places that we come from.
00:43Ludacris: And it's a humbling experience.
00:45It lets you know that, you
know, we're a permanent fixture
00:49in society and culture,
in just everything.
00:54Like, it's a part of life at this point.
00:57Vin Diesel: Dior (Remix) Gunna.
00:59Speedin', whippin' like Toretto.
01:02Push these Pradas to the pedal.
01:04I think it's good writing.
01:06I think you say a lot
with referencing Toretto,
01:09how you speeding, how you whipping,
01:11and what kind of rides you riding,
01:13or your precision driving.
01:15You know, there's a lot on it.
01:17I think what you find
with all the characters
01:20in the 'Fast' franchise is
that they've been consistent.
01:24You've been living with
them for two decades.
01:26You've watched them evolved.
01:28You've seen them go
through the good times.
01:31I think that our characters
represent a code,
01:34a multicultural family,
01:37and a loyalty to one another
01:40that I think we all want to pull from
01:42Ludacris: "In My Life" by Ludacris.
01:44I used to care so much what
people thought about me,
01:47now I really could give a fuck.
01:50Not when I own over 15
million in real estate
01:53and bought all of the
'Fast & Furious' trucks.
01:55Didn't necessarily buy all of them.
01:57When we shot in the UK,
01:59the steering wheel was on the other side
02:01and I thought it might be
too much of a burden for me
02:03to bring those particular ones back.
02:05But all the other ones, yes,
02:07I actually do own a car from them
02:10and that's my collection, so, I love that.
02:13You know, I put my real
life into these bars, man.
02:16And that's what art is
supposed to be about.
02:19It's supposed to imitate life.
02:20And I was glad that I was able to put that
02:22on one of my songs on one of my albums.
02:25A lot of rappers brag, it's
just pure and raw honesty
02:29when it comes to Ludacris.
02:30Vin Diesel: "See You
Again" by Wiz Khalifa.
02:33How could we not talk about family,
02:35when family's all that we got?
02:38Everything I went through,
02:41you were standing there by my side.
02:45And now you gonna be with
me for the last ride.
02:47When they wrote it, Wiz
Khalifa and Charlie Puth,
02:52they told me later that
they were thinking,
02:55what would Dom say to Brian
if he never saw Brian again?
02:59What the song has become is
03:05a hymn, a anthem, a way for us to
03:10in that kinda modern day
version of brotherhood
03:16articulate our feeling
of loss in a way that
03:24attempts to be optimistic.
03:26A concept of saying, "I'll
tell you all about it,
03:29when I see you again," is saying,
03:31I'm gonna see you when I get upstairs.
03:35So it's a very deep, profound song.
03:40I know so many people
that can't hear that song
03:43without being emotional.
03:46And I've heard so many
people come up to me
03:49and say, both that song and the 'Fast 7'
03:54that the song lives in has
helped them get through
03:59the tragedy of loss.
04:03Ludacris: "Act Up" by City Girls.
04:05Did the dash in the Rover
like it's Fast & Furious.
04:09She see my number in his phone,
04:11now you actin' curious.
04:14I've heard so many "Fast
& Furious" references
04:16that it just lets you know this is,
04:18it's etched in people's brains
04:20and it's etched in people's lives.
04:21The same way great music is eternal
04:24and it always brings you back to
04:25certain memories and
emotions that you have,
04:28the same way this franchise has done
04:30for so many different
people and continues to do.
04:33And that is just a testament
to how proud we are,
04:37how humble we are that people
continue to show us love.
04:42Vin Diesel: What's been so special about
04:44the music component of 'Fast & Furious'
04:47is the cultural inclusion.
04:51When I hear Bad Bunny say the
name I go, "Wow, that's cool."
04:55That's something that says,
04:57okay, people are reacting
to what we are doing
05:01because we're moving in
our films with integrity.
05:04Yes, it is a sense of validation
05:07when people mention or
reference our cinematic universe
05:11or our characters, it means everything
05:14Ludacris: Only advice I would give,
05:16and I mean this in the
most respectful way,
05:18that just because you continue
to reference the movie
05:21and people in it doesn't
necessarily secure you
05:25a spot to act in the films.
05:27I've had so many people
come up to me saying,
05:30"Man, like, what do I need to
do to get in the movie, man?"
05:34And it's just like, they try to drop
05:35these little hints here and there.
05:37And I'm like, man, it's
not up to me to do that.
05:40I think this is the number
one most sought after,
05:43"Can I get a cameo?"
franchise in the entire world.
05:50Vin Diesel: We feel appreciated
and because of that,
05:52we want to do more and
deliver more for the fans
05:55that have been the best
fans in cinematic history,
06:00plain and simple, and we acknowledge that.
06:04And we just want to work harder
06:07to make you all proud.
