00:04eventually one year courses myself too
00:07many years ago aces and I've been
00:11involved in it said why in for me was
00:12the obvious thing to do so I learn a new
00:14course with men when my peers who grew
00:16up together in in the movement and then
00:18after university after new course went
00:20back to university and then I was a
00:22counselor or near course and today I get
00:24to run this incredible program when I
00:26was thinking about going what I didn't
00:28really think twice about it because a
00:30gap year was in those days as well
00:32probably even more than now the thing
00:34that a lot of people did and it wasn't
00:36I'm very favorably by universities as
00:38well I got to defer and I saw looking
00:41back now but it was Marty you know the
00:43most amazing year for me it gave me a
00:46lot of independence and made me a lot
00:47more prepared for my three as I had at
00:49Leeds University afterwards and we know
00:51that people universities look at that
00:53like it's a very good thing and also for
00:54resumes as well getting into
00:56universities and getting enough to
00:57listen to that job into the job market
00:59some of you did year course and all the
01:01incredible things that you get to do
01:03idea course whether it's you know
01:04volunteering or the studying and just
01:05living abroad living in Israel learning
01:07Hebrew it really helped and I see
01:09nowadays that my friends a lot of my
01:11peers now who are well into their
01:13careers obviously and have their own
01:15families it was the year course that
01:17really put them apart and got them that
01:20extra that job interview got them to put
01:22their resume to the you know their
01:23series the top of the pile and got any
01:27jobs and they look back on that is very
01:28very much that the year course was the
01:30thing that did that for them so it was
01:31the right decision to do so I really
01:33would say to people to think about it
01:34put yourself apart you don't need to go
01:36straight to to university you're going
01:38to have those three or four years
01:39afterwards do sighing if you set for
01:41yourself and for the future of how you
01:42feel as being Jewish and connecting with
01:45Israel many things we've talked about an
01:47F said why and within the Jewish
01:48community of Britain so I you know my
01:50recommendation as well is take that year
01:53how about here there's a reason why it's
01:55put a gap here in the age of 18 it's the
01:56best time to do it you had the whole
01:58school you know years before that it
02:01really will help you with the future so
02:03I hope to see many of you on your course
